Likes things to be turned in early rather than on time, especially towards the end of the year. You have a group discussion board to post and participate in each week. 4 projects that are all super easy with a little effort. All tests have an essay question along with 2 short answers and multiple choice. USE TRANSITION WORDS IN YOUR ESSAY.

If youre a quick learner then then this class should be no problem for you. He is very clear of what he expects from you. He has a very traditional way of teaching so dont expect much engagement. He moves quickly through chapters so be sure to read the book. Dont expect sympathy from him if you miss something.

The main thing I did not like about this prof was that he had us write 2 papers for a test where only one paper would be used. It seems like a waste of time to have students write papers that will never be submitted. That being said the material is not hard. There are 4 tests, 10 discussions, 10 quizzes, 4 "projects", and some extra credit.

Dr. Beggan was clear with what he wanted. The exams were multiple choice and included an essay and two short answers. For the essays he would give you two possible topics ahead of time and he graded them lightly. The four projects he assigned can easily be done within the first week of class. Extra credit was not worth it. Textbook is a necessity.

He gives you all the tools to pass with a high grade, you just need to listen to his instructions and make sure to write the essays before the test or you will not have time to finish. Over all a very simple and strait forward class!

He makes the students write three 500 word essays for the tests, but only uses one for the test, and at test time the essay has to be revised because the instructions changed. From the Emerald Isle, love this guy. He tests on 4-chapter (or so) sections throughout the course. U need to read the book, to a point - the most important are the lectures. Don't worry, they're entertaining. Yet, he doesn't care what your name is - he'll point at u if he wants u 2 answer a ?. If u ask, u'll always know where u stand.

Show up to class-his lectures are inclusive and amazing. He uses the book to a point, but you can get by without it. I held a "B" without ever using the book - but by paying attention in class - do that and you're good. However, if you want the "A" then you need the book; his quizzes are based on the book and NOT lectures-still a badass professor.

I believe Dr. Beggan is a great lecturer who engages well with his class, but this is where the pros end. The real negative of this course are the exams, and though there are only three of them, the writing section is enough to avoid this course. You write one random essay on the test, but you must write three entire essay prompts beforehand.
