she is the most easiest of the english teachers i know. she works with all of her students on a personal level when there is a potential problem brewing with not understanding. she says, says it 7x and you'll learn, if not ask for HELP!

Best English teacher at FCCJ! I took her for both ENC1101 and ENC1102. My entire table in ENC1102 was filled with classmates from ENC1101. That should tell you something right there. A killer teacher, I'd take her again if she taught anything else.

Hands down Mrs. Diffenbach is the BEST prof at FCCJ. I cant remember a teacher who will work with you (PERSONALLY) on your writing and how you can make it better. The only two ways a person can fail the class is if (1) a person dose not come to class, and (2) is a person plaqerizes a paper (which she does NOT tolerate).

She's the best FCCJ has - she'll help you with any problem - financial aid, scheduling, graduation, etc. she deserves an award - if all the profs at FCCJ were like her, the school would have to turn students away due to overcrowding. You rock Mrs. D!!!!!!

I can actually say that I walked away from this class carrying a something I learned with me. Being in her class had my a better writer. the course that i took was only eight weeks. went by quick you where always working on reports and you have to read a book every class period you had a quiz on the book. but the class was not hard you attened every class, and you do what is asked than you will be ok

She's great! We had to write a "journal" every week on a topic she gave us, and then three essays. Also if we came to class every week, no final exam. She always seemed like she was there to help anyone with any questions too.

english comp 1- Great class taught by a great teacher. Not hard at all. 3 papers, min of 1000 words. 10 journals, two in class writings. everyone takes the midterm but if you go to class every day, NO FINAL. whats better. Highly Highly recomended. you wont be sorry. i got a 95 and i hate writing. a breeze.

I thought this class would be somewhat difficult because i wasn't good at English, but that was not the case. Mrs. D is really helpful and makes learning English VERY easy. Basically it's 3 1k word essays (not that hard) and 10 100 word journals (Very Very easy). There is one midterm (easy) and no final for perfect attendance. Highly recommend.

Awesome prof. that really cares about her students. She will take the time to know each student individually. 2 things, DON'T text in her class, walk out if you have to, and DON'T talk while she's talking. She's not hard, but she doesn't hand out A's like it's nothing. You do work for it, but it's minimal work. Come everyday and get a 100 on final.

Simply the best English Professor at FSCJ!

Before I had Ms. D as my professor, I hated writing. However, Ms. D. made writing come alive. She's such a great teacher. She's funny, helpful, and will work with you. If you don't miss any classes then you don't have to take the final exam. If you do have to miss a class then she'll let you do a makeup class. Do your work and you'll do fine. :)

Dominique is awesome. I took her for CompI&II as well as film. Each of her classes were fun, thought provoking, and full of discussion. She is a lenient grader, and an A in the class is not difficult as long as you put forth effort. Highly recommended...and then some.

Excellent professor. I very much enjoyed her class. She cares deeply about student success, but doesn't hand out good grades like nothing: You have to work for it, but she equips you. She doesn't expect anything that isn't taught in class. As a bonus, if you have perfect attendance, you get an automatic 100 on the final.

Ignore the person below, Dominique is an excellent professor. In the Creative Writing class, where there were two mandatory reading assignments, some decided not to read, or even to show up for class until finals and expected to make an "A." Come to class, do the assignments (there arent many) and participate in discussions, and its a breeze!

if you need to take English, take this course. She doesn't hand grades out but is clear with what she expects and will proof read your work for you if you hand it in early for review. You really have to not care at all to get a bad grade in this class. I highly recommend taking her class.

I took Dominique's ENC1101 class, and loved it, so took her Creative Writing class and was equally impressed; will take all her other classes too! In Creative Writing, we had to write a sonnet, a poem of our choice, and three short stories. All were critiqued by other students in a positive, helpful manner. Thoroughly enjoyed this class!

You will learn more about Film than you ever wanted to know. Also, you will learn to how movies have changed drastically from the "black-and-white" days to modern day films. Mrs. Dieffenbach is a great professor and is always willing to help.

If you are a serious student take her class. She will give you every opportunity to earn an A. If you are not trying then you will receive the grade you earn. She is always willing to help or answer questions. Mrs. Dieffenbach teaches because she wants to teach, and it shows.

I took this professor for film. She is an excellent professor who most definitely cares about her students' success. Film as a class was such a breeze. You just watch a movie every class and discuss it. Take a few vocab tests and write two papers about films. I recommend this class for a humanities credit. Great teacher as well, strongly recommend!

amazing professor MUST TAKE!!!!! all you do is show up to class watch a movie and have a group discussion after. there is a vocabulary quiz each week but they are easy if you study them at least the night be for. there are two essays the entire semester on any movie you want. if you show up to every class then you do not have to take the final exam

She seems to understand how college kids brains work. She is straight to the point and often let us out of class early. The essays were very easy and if you go to her office she will help you with them before you turn them in.

She also told everyone on the first day to keep what they write pretty clean, so there wasn't a lot of bad language or questionable content in the other students' work. Professor Dieffenbach is a great instructor. Her discussions are insightful. She does not tolerate excuses. As long as you do your work, you will earn a good grade. Vocab quizzes are given every week and two essay for the semester. She reward those who attend class every week (Exempt from final).

If you go to every class you dont have to take the final exam its an automatic 100. Also many stories to read but easy and if you dont read them you will fail her quizzes.

This class was amazing she is very helpful and funny. There is no textbook required. Make sure you come to class each day and you will not have to take a final. Prof. Dieffenbach reawakened the writer in me, and helped me work on my weaker suits. She works with you if you work with her, and are a good student. She will not go out of her way for you if you slack off. If the majority of the class seems to be slacking off, she will turn an assignment into a pop quiz. Do your homework. It matters.

This woman is the one of the absolute best! She really wants you to learn what she teaches, which makes one do their all. Being a mother of two young children there were lots of tough times for me during this course. This woman took soooo much time with me, even allowed me to take a quiz that I'd missed in her personal office. She is truly amazing!

I had her for ENC1101 and ENC1102. Part of your grade is attendance. If you don't miss any classes, you don't have to take the final. You get an automatic 100 on it. There's 3 papers you have to type(1000-1500 words each). She doesn't like slackers. Do what she expects of you and you will get the A. I don't like writing but aced all my papers.

Make sure you purchase indian creek chronicles and read it the quizzes she gives the questions come straight out of each chapter. They are about 10 questions each quiz

Never taking another English professor besides her. Essays have to be a certain length and she's meticulous about grading, but she's available to help whenever you need it! Come to every class and there's no final, miss one day and you can make it up and still not have to take the final. She's amazing, I recommend taking her class.

Went into this class with the assumption that I can't write, and I left knowing I'm a good writer. She goes the extra mile for you if you and allows you to bring papers to her before they are due for corrections. Show up to class, turn your papers in on time, and do the homework if you meet all three of these things you should at least get a B.

Shes's awesome took her twice. 1101 and 1102. She wants you to pass but she gives you what you earned. Homework is in between a lot and a little if you get what I mean. If you come to class everyday, you'll be happy at the end. Wish there were more teachers like her.

Her lectures are straight and to the point, and is willing to help with your assignments in anyway. Her grading is not that hard, just make sure that you take her feedback and improve throughout the semester.

As long as you put in the effort, this should be an easy A. There is: a final that is omitted if you have perfect attendance, three essays--of which she'll look at and edit if you finish earlier than the deadline--and ten journals which are graded by completion. I definitely became a better writer, both creatively and grammatical after her class.

There are three essays: 1500 word research essay, 1000 word film analysis, 1000 word compare and contrast between film and book. As long as you get her to look at them before it's due, you should get a good grade. Grammar and MLA matters. You have to read the book in order to pass. Highly recommend her.

She would definitely work with you on things you need help with and breaks it down. she's a very easy class to past just make sure you show up and do your work. It is an English class so you will have to write essays and as long as you do that and show up to class, you're pretty much pass !!! Love her!!

She is a really cool lady. She is funny and engages the class. You will learn how to use proper grammar which is extremely helpful for those of us who have not been in high school recently. Three papers and one short book to read with two quizzes. The papers take up most of your time (1000-1500 words). Attend every class and there is no final.

Professor Dieffenbach was very good with giving feedback on everything she graded. English is not my best subject, but her class is still passable. There is quite a lot of writing, and a few tests throughout the class. She assigns reading from the "required" material handbook for the class, but in all honesty you can get away with to buying it.

This was my first college class I took in 10 years since graduating high school. It was a great way to start, she gives you the chance to proof read your papers before you submit the final. I made an A in her class. I enjoyed the papers because they were cool topics, she gives you a baseline and you pick what you want to write about.

She's very particular about the formatting of papers. You HAVE to read the book she assigns, there will be about 5 quizzes on it. There is 3 papers and you have a week to turn them in late along with a revision period. You must write these papers to pass. She's very nice and lets out early alot. Bare in mind I'm a person who loves English.

Attendance is mandatory only if you don't want to take the final exam and if you don't want to miss any of the movies or information. Definitely study the terms.

If you don't miss a single class you don't take a final. Very easy class as long as you put in some type of effort. She allows revisions for essays. Just make sure to do all the homework and attend every class and it is a sure A. She's a good teacher with an easy class.

Film Studies was the best class ever. Majority of the class is spent watching amazing films. She cares about the subject, and wants you to as well. She makes it an easy A as long as you somewhat pay attention and do the few assignments for the course.

I took this class 100% online. It was a little difficult to understand the concepts of the content for that reason. She is a little bit of a tough grader. There is not too much work, though. Definitely not an easy A, but not too hard if you really try.

We were writing about movies in my class Professor D chose really good ones. It was such an enjoyable class, and I believe if you showed up for all classes you didn't have to take a final. Would totally take her class again. She was super helpful.

I took professor Dieffenbach for ENC1101, we had an essay every other week as well as a test. Answered emails very quickly. Essays were easy to pass, but she does not give good feedback. MLA format is important in this course. None of the tests were proctored and she does allow you to retake tests for extra credit at the end of the course.

Take advantage of her essay proofreadings! A journal writing every week, and an essay every other week. Easy quizzes, occasional timed writings. If you do not miss any classes you do not have to take the final. Helpful and gives good feedback. Put in some effort and you will pass.

Each week alternates between a practice paragraph and an essay. Ended up having 8 essays in total. It can be a lot but she lets you know what areas you need to focus on. I only got a C because I chose not to write my last essay. Overall she's a good teacher and wants her students to succeed.

I took 3 of Mrs. Dieffenbach's classes and enjoyed them all. (ENC1&2 and ENG2100) She's very firm about her attendance/ tardiness policies but also very up front about the rules and expectations. I learned a lot from her.

There were 7 modules, pretty much each module had a discussion, paragraph, quiz, and essay. Plenty of time to do everything in a full semester. Barely any reading. Not a tough grader, I made a lot of mistakes and still made good grades. Responded to my questions in just minutes, very helpful!

In both ENC1101 and ENC1102, there are three papers you have to write, but they are not bad. She even offers to check over your paper before you turn it in and correct any mistakes. The grading rubric was clear and she allows you to resubmit the paper again with revisions to improve your grade. She also allows you to submit up to a week late if you cannot make the deadline.
