Professor Lewis is hands down the best POLS 206 prof at A&M when it comes to the difficulty of the class. She realizes that most of us arent POLS majors and her tests, assignments and grading criteria reflect that (they are super easy). Her tests come directly from her slides, not over what she may say that isnt on the slides. Highly recommend.
This was one of the hardest and most boring classes I have ever taken. She is smart and knows what she is talking about, but she is not a good professor whatsoever. She talks really fast and jumps around from different topics constantly. She did not seem eager to help anyone. She assigned roughly 100 pages of reading per week. Would not recommend.
This class was challenging, but college isnt supposed to be easy. Dr. Lewis also changed things up by including games and those were interesting. Shes smart and I learned a lot about different parts of the world I never really thought about before. Still a tough class, definitely not for slackers. A lot of discussion and reading
Your grade is based off of 3 disscusions, 3 online quizzes, 3 group quizzes, and 3 exams. Attendance is not mandatory, since she posts all her lectures (powerpoints) online. Exams are extremely easy, since she gives you a study guide. Exams are word-for-word from her powerpoints. So do the study guide to do good on the exam!
The three online quizzes are word for word from the power points. Her test reviews are exactly what will be on the test, nothing more nothing less(also word for word on the power points). Group quizzes are not hard just review key terms on the lecture it is over. I hardly went to class and had no issue getting an A.
She is very cool. Definitely the easiest POLS 206 professor. I would take her again for any other pols classes required. I went to class at most 3 times all semester & I got an A. Just study the powerpoints online & you will be sure to pass.
Professor Lewis, is unlike a lot of professors at TAMU. She actually cares how you do and if you understand the material. On her tests, she doesn't ask you trick questions or tries to confuse you, she is very straight forward! She always makes herself available is you need help with whatever the concept is. The TA wasn't good though.
Very knowledgeable and entertaining. She explains concepts well and is willing to answer any and all questions from her students. She posts test reviews that cover everything that will be on the test and prove extremely helpful, should you put in the work to study. Great prof
She gives group quizzes and online quizzes. She gave 3 tests and 1 final . Before the tests, she gives your a review sheet that has everything you need. I did the reviews and skipped class and have an A. I didn't even buy the textbook (there's a version of it online, that I didn't use). She cancels class. Take notes on the slides. All from slides.
Dr. Lewis is a wonderful professor and I thoroughly enjoyed her class this semester. She's very clear about what is important and what to study for tests - she won't put anything on the tests that isn't on the study guide. Her lectures are great and engaging, but unless you know someone in the class you have to attend because her slides have blanks
Shes awesome!! Save yourself and take her. Honestly very easy tests and she just wants the class to be informative for us as students to be prepared in the real world with american politics.
Lewis is a great teacher, lecturer, and her tests are super easy! Definitely recommend taking this class.
Dr. Lewis makes learning the material fun. She is engaging and very straightforward. And she makes sure to connect the material to real life so we understand the applications. I loved this class.
Take Dr Lewis! She really wants her students to understand the real world impact of her lecture material. She gives great study guides which help you focus your studying properly. Tests are so easy if you pay attention in lecture, which isn't hard because she's very interesting! She has gaps in her posted slides, so you should come to class.
Dr. Lewis is one of the best professors I've had. Her class was super easy! I skipped a lot, but as long as you have someone to take notes for you, you'll be fine. She posts reviews for every exam, and nothing not on the review is on the exam. Exams are based off lectures. Great class and great prof!
This class was so easy. The quizzes and exams are straight off the PowerPoints word for word, and she posts an exam study guide which helps a lot. You can get away with not going to class as long as you have a way to get the PowerPoints with the slides filled out. The final was also repeated questions from the past exams. Easiest POLS 206 prof.
Amazing prof, take her. She's probably the best out of ALL POLS profs. My only mistake was getting 89 at the end of the semester and getting a B. Grade bumps only happen if your grade is 0.5% from the next letter grade. Memorize as much info as you can and you good! Good luck!
Great government professor! She just posted the notes online and you memorize them because whatever was on there was on the exam. I learned government easier that way too. When I took it, attendance wasn't mandatory but she might have changed it. Easy A as long as you pass the exams and do the online quizzes which aren't hard either.
Amazing professor who is passionate about what she does which in turn makes lectures interesting. You do have to go to class to get the blanks on the notes filled in because thats often whats on her tests. Overall it was an easy A and I learned a lot.
Great Professor! You have to go to class to fill in the blanks for the lectures but overall she makes class interesting. She posts study guides for every test so you know exactly what is on the test. Tests and quizzes are very straight forward. Easy A if you study well for the exams. Make quizlet your friend.
Dr. Lewis's class is very easy to get an A in. Show up and get the necessary fill-in-the-blank notes, create a quizlet and review maybe once or twice. Guaranteed A if you follow these three steps. Letter and group quizzes are pretty much a given 100% if you turn them in. Dr. Lewis is also hilariously witty, so be sure to show up to class.
I took her fall 2017. Her powerpoints are very heavy but the material is great. She doesn't upload grades right away. Give her a week to do so. She randomly assigns you a new group for the group quizzes. She gives out bonus questions on the group quizzes. She goes off tangent at times. There are also online quizzes.
100% would recommend especially if you have never taken POLS before. Easy to get an A. Material is explained in an interesting and simple manner. Test questions only from the reviews she posts online. Occasional online and group quizzes which are not really a bother.
Easiest pols 206 professor on campus. All of the TAMU 206 professors always want to make everything hard. She is straight forward just make flashcards on the study guides she makes and you will get an A in the class. I literally studied the night before my exam and the morning of and made 95+ on my exams. Class averages were up in the high 88%.
She is such a nice professor. Her lectures are interesting and her class is really easy. The study guides she makes are really helpful and look like the test. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
If you can stay awake long enough, you should be able to make an easy A/B. Lecture based, and has fill-in notes so you have to attend class. Her lectures are boring and she rambles on about stuff that isn't important or on the test. Pass your AP test my dudes.
She's a great choice for a POLS lecture. The class is really easy and you just need to study her presentations to get an easy A.
I have so many great things to say about this woman. From the get-go, I knew that it was going to be a great semester. She's very fair with her grading and tries to help us out as much as possible. Group quizzes which were easy hundreds. Super funny and GIVES TEST REVIEWS which tell you exactly will be on the test (straight definitions). Loved her!
Dr. Lewis is a great professor and makes POLS very easy. You are guaranteed to get an A as long as you study her presentations well.
Use half of your brain and you'll get an A. If you go to lecture you may actually learn some interesting stuff about politics.
Dr. Lewis was by far the easiet professor I've ever taken. Her class was super easy. There were group quizzes and online quizzes that were easy. Attendance isn't mandatory, only for exams and group quizzes. I ended up with a B because I started slacking off toward the end of the semester. I the book was needed only for the access code. Take her!
Professor Lewis makes the class extremely easy even if you never go to a single lecture. Just study her PPTs and reviews and get that A
Amazing professor. You can tell that she enjoys what she is doing. Class is easy, and lectures are entertaining. Class isn't mandatory, but her slides have fill in blanks, and you need to be present to fill it. She gives reviews for the tests, and they are word for word just about. Easy A.
The only time you have to think about this class is the day before a test. Make sure to study what the study guide tells you to and youll be good. The quizzes off the textbook are easy. Group quizzes are even easier. Between the 8 members of your group someone will know the answers. Tests can be tricky but definitely manageable.
Dr. Lewis was a great professor for this Writing Intensive class. She was great during office hours and her lectures were great. pop quizzes come from the readings before class. she is very strict on makeups and if you do the work in the class and follow what she wants, you will do well. the labs build up through the semester, so they are important
Dr. Lewis is a great professor who is really passionate about political science. She is funny and implements real-world events in her lecture's to make them more interesting. You can get away with skipping every now and then, but you need to attend lectures to get the full set of notes. Use the study guides to prepare for her exams!
great teacher, very chill class, lectures are optional, can be a little boring, but she isn't as boring. She gives study guides before the exam, which is literally the best thing in the world. If you study a day or 2 before, you will get a B or A guaranteed. You only have 5 grades in the class for pols206, a syllabus quiz, 3 tests & a letter.
Professor Lewis is awesome! Her exams are super straightforward. No textbook. Attendance not mandatory but her powerpoints are fill in the blank notes so you should definitely go. 3 exams, a syllabus quiz, and a letter make up your grade. She is super sweet and you can tell she cares about her subject!
Super easy to pass. Show up take notes and you can get an easy A. Her exams are straight forward and based of memorization. Honestly you do not even have to show up to class and you can still pass it is that easy.
This class is so easy you could literally not pay attention at all and still pass. All you need to do is fill in blanks and literally thats it.
BEST professor I've ever had. She has fill in the blank notes that cover everything you need to know for all of the exams. 5 grades: a syllabus quiz, 3 easy exams (right to the point directly from her powerpoints), and a letter to the Senator (which she doesn't read!) She also gives a clear review! If you can get notes, you don't even have to go.
Not a bad prof but uses slides during class to teach which can sometimes be very boring. Gives review for tests, and fill in the blank for slides during lecture. Tests can be tricky. Study and use the review otherwise you won't get the grade you thought you would for sure.
She is very clear about what will be on exams, provides us with helpful study guides, and gives lots of time to complete other assignments
Dominique was the BEST ! Its a really easy class if you show up and take the notes. Several people decided not to show up to class and didn't do to well so GO TO CLASS! Your grade is based off of 3 exams, a syllabus quiz, and a letter you have to write. She also provides reviews for every exam. Exams are straight forward.
Best prof to take pols206. You don't have to go to class but make sure you get the answers to the lecture slides from someone in class. The class is based on 3 exams, a syllabus quiz, and a letter to a representative that she doesn't read. She posts a review for each exam and if you study the terms on there then making an A is easily obtainable.
Very easy to pass this class with an A I just slacked off towards the end. There are 3 exams, a letter to your state senator, and the Syllabus quiz. You don't have to show up, but it would be a good idea if you want to make sure you pass the exams. Making good grades on the exams are the only way to pass. They make up 91% of your grade.
This class consists of 3 exams, 1 letter, and a syllabus quiz. The exams are straightforward as they are the terms in the study guide. I would not worry about the exams until about 2 days before the exam because it is straight memorizing the terms. Overall this class was a really easy A.
Dr. Lewis is one of the easiest professors I've ever had. Her lectures are based on fill in the blank power point slides. The 3 exams are worth 31% each, however, her tests are straightforward and from a review she posts in advance. The other 7% is from a letter she does not read and a syllabus quiz. Take her for a GPA boost if you need it.
She has a system of powerpoints that define everything. there are 3 tests and they all have questions pulled directly from the powerpoints. Dr. Lewis only shows powerpoints in class so you have to show up or have someone send you the notes. All in all its a REALLY easy A if you just study the powerpoints according to the study guide.
The class is all tests. The tests are easy as long as you study the terms on the study guide that she posts on ecampus which you can honestly do the day before. After the first test I didn't attend a single lecture and managed to get an A. If you do want to attend lectures, she is enthusiastic about the material and a good lecturer.
Super easy prof. Just find someone to make a quizlet for the test and you'll pass.
There are 3 test and no final a syllabus quiz online and a letter you have to write to a person in office but he does not read it. The notes are in line with fill in the blanks you can go to class and get them or ask in a group me. The test are just definitions of the key term of each chapter make a quizlet and you will get a A.
Dr. Lewis is simple; show up to class, fill the blanks in her slides, review them, and you have an A. Just be sure to memorize the slides (even the small details) because that is ALL that she tests. Super easy course, minimal effort, and learned a lot too!
Would absolutely take this class again. As long as you don't miss lectures or get notes from someone and do the review, you will do well on exams. Her exams match reviews perfectly. She does not like groupme/quizlet so be careful there. Easy A and POLS credit. I would highly recommend.
Easy A if you attend class. She posts reviews that cover everything on the Exams, and the Exams are extremely easy. She's a great professor, and this class will boost your GPA.
Professor Lewis is definitely the professor you want for POLS. Her class consists of 5 quizzes and 3 tests that are super straightforward. Literally just look your notes the day before the test and you'll be golden. Attendance isn't mandatory. Great class to boost your GPA and have an easy semester in. Also make friends to get missed notes.
Professor Lewis is easily the best choice for POLS 207. Your grade is based on 3 exams and 5 quizzes and she posts a study guide for the exams (basically if you know the info about each term on the study guide you'll do great). Just go to class and fill out the powerpoint slides that she posts (you only need the book for quizzes/ study guide)
Literally the best pols prof!! 209 is not an easy class but she made everything so clear and as easy as possible. TAKE HER
Dr. Lewis has been one of my best profs so far! She makes POLS 207 more interesting and is very straightforward with what she expects from you in class. The study guides and notes are always similar to the tests and the reading quizzes aren't bad if you read the book. She did a great job transitioning our class to an online with the pandemic too.
Dr. Lewis is the best professor I've ever had! She does a great job of giving examples to explain difficult concepts, and she is always available to answer questions. She is very personable and loves getting to know her students. POLS 209 specifically had a lot of papers (but it's writing intensive). I Would DEFINITELY take her again!
Amazing prof but class is technically mandatory. She uses fill in the blanks as her notes and as long as you use that to study for her exams you should be fine. The textbook is required so you can pass her chapter quizzes. However, when studying beware of making your quizlet study sets public because she will ask you to remove it.
The tests were straight from the fill in the blank notes and the reviews. Five quizzes and three tests made up the entire grade. She really cared about our class and brought up the current elections, which helped A LOT! Great prof!!
This class was very easy and I could definitely see the passion that Professor Lewis has for teaching this subject! There are easy sets of quizzes to complete each week, as well as discussion board questions.
Definetely the best POLS 206 professor. I took 207 before this and Dr. Lewis is a breath of fresh air. This semester (Fall '21) we are graded on lots of very small, easy participation assignments, and 3 tests, which aren't worth too much of your grade, and are very easy IF YOU TAKE NOTES. Take lecture notes and DO HER REVIEW and you'll make an A :)
Dr. Lewis is an amazing professor. She's really passionate about her class. Her lectures are interesting and engaging. There is 3 exams, Current events discussions, muddiest points, and quizzes. She drops some low grades, and please read the text book it is very helpful for quizzes. Overall great professor, highly recommend.
Dr. Lewis was night and day compared to my 207 prof, SUCH an easy class! All her lectures were posted on a weekly basis on canvas along with some smaller accompanying assignments and quizzes, in addition to our 3 exams everything was straightforward and extremely easy to do and earn a fantastic grade, I'd take Dr. Lewis for just about any class!
Asynchronous class. Put in 20 minutes a week and you get an A. Took this for state requirement but the class is ridiculously easy. Lot's of little things in her syllabus, you just have to get used to her course's syntax. You can miss a lot of various assignments and still do good. From what I've heard she is really easy to access.
Super organized online class, always posted lectures when she said she would. If you just complete the work, you'll likely get an A. If you actually pay attention, you'll likely learn a lot too.
Dr. Lewis was a professor that TRULY cared about her students amidst the pandemic, and it is easy to see how hard she worked to make sure everything was accessible. The tests were open note, and she made extremely helpful study guides before the test. I would definitely take her again!
Shes an amazing lecturer. I learned SO much from her, and I loved how she always connected what we learned to the present-day. Tests were straightforward, but for quizzes make sure you read the textbook. Highly recommend!
I took this class online during COVID-19 and it was honestly an amazing experience! If you watch her lectures and do the readings, you'll do fine on the quizzes and tests! She also drops grades too which is nice I would highly recommend taking her for POLS206
This semester had to be really difficult on professor Lewis. She had around 1000 students in this class, but she made sure everyone who had questions got them answered. This class is straightforward. If you show up and do the work, you'll do really well. Highly recommend.
Her PowerPoints have exactly whatll be on the test, nothing tricky about it. What she teaches and the tests themselves are not biased, some of the articles she had us read were but it was bearable. Just keep up with the hw each week and study the powerpoints and you shouldnt have a problem!
Easiest teacher I had this semester. Weekley group discussions, article analysis, and quizzes. There's a textbook required for the class, but don't bother buying it, I never used it once. Overall, the class was asynchronous this semester, and quizzes and tests are based on memorization.
If you do not get an A in this course you are doing something wrong. Very clear on ALL assignments which are EXTREMELY straight forward but all meaningful. It was asynchronous due to covid and was extremely organized. Her lecture videos are actually interesting too. And you get two tries on everything. Awesome Professor and I really learned a lot.
AMAZING PROFESSOR. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!! tests are super straight forward, all material is covered in the slides. homework is minimal, and she drops a couple grades as well. super knowledgeable professor, really straightforward lectures, extremely passionate about what she does. 10/10!!
Took this class completely online. Recored lectures on youtube and easy to listen to. Very knowledgeable and passionate. Each week, you have a powerpoint+lecture, a chapter quiz, and a discussion of some sort. Very clear on what she expects. Learned a lot. 3 tests that are identical to the review she provides. TAKE HER!
Take her! Very straight forward! She is very understanding, especially with everything being online. Her test and quizzes are not hard. All the answers are in her PowerPoints.
Dr. Lewis is the professor to take for POLS 206! Graded by many assignments but they are all easily doable! She genuinely cares about her students as well as her passion for teaching politics. The only "hard" thing to do for her class was multiple assignments due every week and tons of reading, but it can easily be done.
She is such a great professor, always provides us with organized slides and lecture videos (asynchronous class), and wants to see us succeed. Packback and quizzes are the most common grades in the gradebook, but exams also weigh heavily. Don't worry though, her exams are straight from her lectures and slides!
This class was asynchronous. It consists of 3 exams, a few chapter quizzes from the textbook, packback assignments, and VI quizzes which take 3 minutes and are common sense. The exams are very easy if you fill out her review before hand. Easy class and awesome professor.
Dr. Lewis is a good professor. She was easy to reach outside of class due to her slack channels and the tests were exactly like her reviews. The only downside is the textbook. The chapters are so long and required for tests and quizzes.
Thankfully I didn't have to contact Dr. Lewis very often because this class was asynchronous but from the emails she sent to the class, she seems rude and not understanding. However, as long as you do your notes, quizzes, and homework you'll be fine. This class wasn't hard at all, just requires effort for an hour or two every week.
Super straight forward, asynchronous class. Grades consisted of Packbacks, chapter quizzes and 3 exams which were all easy. Test questions come directly from the lecture slides and exam review. Also, she gives 2 attempts for every quiz AND exam. Take her for an easy A!
Easiest professor ever. Take her if you can. The quizzes are over lecture content and the textbook but you can get away without the textbook. Tests are super easy since they are straight off the PowerPoints. Easy A.
This class is very easy. Took it for summer II and I didnt feel stressed whatsoever. She gives 2 chances for each chapter quiz, visual quiz, and even the exams (final isnt cumulative). She even has a helpful study guide for the exams. One out of whatever number of chapter and visual quizzes will be dropped, and everything is open note.
Super easy. The exams were open note and mostly common sense. Take her if you can, she,s literally so easy and this class was a breeze.
