She gets into her personal life and often strays from the topic. prefers to be deemed a know it all that a teacher. wants you to devote you semester and life to her class.... unrealistic
Claims to be the best teacher, and you believe you will get an A on the test, then you get something in the 40's. Take this class at MDC with Quesada, otherwise, expect to repeat multiple times.
Only goes over book problems. Doesnt actually teach anything from her own notes. The exams are extremely difficult in comparison to the material taught that 98% of the class failed the first test.
She's GREAT!
She is very clear with her explanations and will personally take the time to ensure that you know the material. Yes, you have to study and review plenty but this is math, deal with it. I aced the first test and I am not a math person at all. Study hard and you'll do very well.
very good professor.
An awesome teacher.. she explains very clearly, she gives fair tests.. but just make sure you do ALL the hw's and STUDY!!!
Excellent professor, she is very helpful, and explains material very good.
She drops your lowest grade and offers extra credit on all tests. Yyou have to do the homework in order to do well on the exams. She allocates alot of class time for answering homework questions.

The class is difficult and the exams are hard but she drops your lowest grade and offers extra credit. She reviews homework problems and is very knowledgeable. However, you have to do all the homework and spend a lot of time studying to recieve a good grade.
She drops the lowest test!
She explains the material very well and is always looking for ways to help the students
Shes a fair teacher b/c she drops your lowest test grade, tries to help you get the best grade possible and her test arent tricky (right from the book)But she explains one problem and expects you to figure out different variations of the same problem on your own (takes alot of time after class)
Good lecturer, but tests are extremely difficult. Try someone else.
Explains material well, answers all questions on homework, not graded though. Tests are difficult, but lowest is dropped. She can be a bit condescending and personal towards students. Not recommended.
DROPPED AFTER 2 WEEKS. SHE GIVES TOO MUCH HOMEWORK, BUT DOES NOT CREDIT OR GRADE ALL OF THAT HARD WORK.
She is a nice person but very strict on what she wants in her essays. She will take points of for everything, i mean everthing!!!!! Expects perfection on the work and nothing else. I would recommend the class if you want to be challenged.
Calculus II is the hardest class i've ever taken. At the beginning of the semester she'll tell you that you need to reserve at least 25 hrs per week to do well in the class.....she is NOT JOKING! As far as the tests, i think she's fair. There is a LOT of homework. She's very friendly and helpful, but again...Calculus II is extremely hard!
Good teacher. If you have a strong Calc background, you shouldn't have a problem. Do the HW, and review it before the test. You will have no problem. She gives fair tests!
THIS IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER, SHE DOESNT TEACH YOU ANYTHING, SHE EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING BEFORE HAND, SHE USES SLIDES AND NOTES THAT DONT HELP YOU AT ALL, i REALLY RECOMMEND YOU TO TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR, SHES THE WORST EVER.
I have been good in math all my life and when I came to this class it was a total disaster because I felt that she didn't teach, she spent the classes saying how much she knew about math and how many degrees she had, but at the time of the class, her explanations were really bad. Definately, there are better professors who teach trigonometry.
she teaches very well
After failing Biz Calculus TWICE with Hindu speaking professors in the past, I finally was given a fair shot at passing this class. Aside from actually understanding the words that were coming out of her mouth, she was very thorough in explaining problems and was very helpful, if you helped yourself by doing your homework. Not an easy professor, but if you get serious like I did, you'll do very well. I got an A- with her, and she also gorgeous! Ms. Fox is you're reading my email is [email protected] :)

Best math teacher i've ever had.... I actually understand what is being taught because she brakes it down. All the homework she gives is relevant to what is being taught but it is alot of work.
as long as u go to class and do the h.w. and then study b4 the test u should have no problem. she explains the material very well and her tests are fair. usually the most complicated homework problems are the problems on the exam. i had her for trig also and i have no complaints
Bus. Calc is not an easy course by itself. But she does her best to make it the easiest possible. I would highly recommend her after failing it with another teacher.
Excellent professor. This class (business calculus) could have been a lot harder. She does her best at making the material clear and to simplify it. Calculus is never easy, but she does everything she can to make sure her students understand or at least get a good grade. Drops lowest test grade. Highly recommend her.
WARNING: DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She is so hard. Gives TONS of HW. Literally have to spend 20 hrs. a week on her class alone. Tests are SUPER hard, hardest problems, very related to pre-cal. Trust me, do not take her.
She is ok
basically tells students to do the hw and goes over it in class. ur basically teaching yourselF? and each exam holds the hardest problems she think of.. what a -----
Seriously one of the best math teachers ive ever had. people dont do well in this class because they think they know everything when they dont. she helps you a lot. she drops your lowest test grade and if you do well on the final she'll average it in more than once so u do well in the class..Love her!

awesome math teacher. very clear in her notes. do the homework because it will definitely benefit you. helps students out BIG TIME!
she is a great teacher, very helpful, tests are not that hard if you study also there are 3 tests and a final and lowest test is dropped. every test has extra credits to help you out. :D
An amazing professor. I don't know what to say, she's a genius and is gifted in teaching! This is a class where the tests challenge you, but you have difficult (but not terribly so) extra credit questions to raise your score. All tests are fair, never tricky, and always come from the HW and lectures. I am learning a LOT and getting 100+% grades.
Do hw, ask what u don't know in class. i didn't do hw for 1st 2 test, so i failed both. gives hw problems & xtra cred on tests. did hw for 3rd test & got perfect score, 100+. b/c of curve, got an A even tho i literally failed 2/3 of course.
she is a great professor!!..she helps u out alot. i passed all my test with flying colors..just do your hw and asker her questiongs and youu do good in her class. excellent professor
this lady is a little crazy. she expects everyone to spend more than 15 hours a week on her homework. her exams are super hard and make no sense. take this class with mcdermott wells. but avoid fox
She is a Genius! took her for calc II, wish she could teach me every class!, she can teach! If you study you'll definitely get a great grade. Take her! take her! even if the class at 6 am! seriously! but take her fast because everyone wants her.! 70% of her class pass! as oppossed to the other classes where is only 8-13% do ur research!
Her teaching style is the worst. If only she would use the board and solve the boards that way. Much easier to learn that way. Her fist exam is overall pretty easy but the rest kill you. She does not curve, I suggest you take with another professor. Supposedly if you do your homework you pass, that is a load of bullS*it.
Take her and waste your time. Study 25 hours a week so you can get tricked on her test, but don't expect partial credit for it.Hopefully you took this teacher before becuse she has her favorites from her old classes.
tests are impossible, does not give extra credit... i got a F
a totally waste of time
I wouldnt advise anyone to take this class with her...she makes it too hard..she grades very hard...we have alot of homework that ain even graded....jus find someone else to do this class with
SHE KNOWS HER STUFF AND I CAN'T DENY SHE IS BRILLIANT, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT RELATED TO NEWTON AND DO NOT KNOW ALGEBRA, TRIG AND CALC I LIKE THE BACK OF YOUR HAND FORGET IT....TESTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE....DON'T BE FOOLED BY PREVIOUS COMMENTS....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
Business Cal is a very difficult subject, but this professor is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. She's one of my favorite professors.
She expects us to know math like the back of her hand just like her. Goes really fast. "I'f you don't believe me look at what we did in my Cal 1 class today" she says to justify the speed of the course TRIGONOMETRY. Gets a bit frustrated if u dont understand something even though she asks if everyone understands. Constantly complains about the arra
she is the worst teacher i've ever had...and i've had some pretty bad ones. She doesn't teach all she talkes about is how UM hates FIU and her adventures in FSU.
shes horrible do not take her for trig all she talkes about is her calc class and how UM hates FIU.
Do your homework.
Lets face it math is not the easiest subject specially calc 2. She seems a little bit crazy in the beginning when she walks in and you see her for the first time because her hair is everywhere, but when she starts teaching you can really tell she knows the material extremely well. I recommend her just be ready to work aloooooooooot.
Great Professor. Test are not impossible. Just do your homework and you'll be fine. Just expect atleast 5 hrs of homework a week.
Great professor, took her classes many years ago, lot of homework but worth it
she has a non-traditional style of teaching and she really seems to enjoy teaching. She was not as hard as people previously stated. SHE GIVES YOU 5-6 EXTRA CREDIT PROBLEMS WHICH ARE NOT NECESSARILY HARD. I did not like that her notes were disorganized. I recommend her
I love her!! This is one of my favorite teachers. She is really nice and caring. She answers everyone's questions. She explains things thoroughly. She does like a million examples.
If you plan on graduating with a great GPA,dont take this class. She tries to help you but then she says one thing is going to be on the exam and does the complete opposite. When she teaches she goes very fast and doesnt pace herself. She is very nice and knows her material but she is not good at teaching it to others, just stay away for your own good.
OMG! hardest math class i've ever taken. i actually dropped the class. she goes way too fast and trig is hard enough. don't take her for any math courses and her exams are hard!
Take professor Fox for trig, trust me, she is really easy, she doesn't go step by step like the book, the book is what makes this class complicated. She gives her own easy techniques to get to the answer. i hardly used the book, I just mostly used it for the HW problems, and her exams are super easy. I got an A,and didn't kill my self.
Great Teacher. Calc2 is not easy so don't expect an easy A. She gives extra credit questions on the test to help you out and she gives reviews. But You HAVE to do the HW. Calc2 is all about reconising the problems. Nothing she gives on the tests are new. It's from the HW. Its a hard class but she doesn't try to fail anyone.
She knows the materialbut goes WAY TOO FAST!!! She teaches like if you know everything... First time I had to drop a class, it was impossible to keep up at her speed!!!
she knows what shes talking about and relates it to the real world. she starts from the beginning of each class with some story. which are so random. then she goes on the projector and makes us understand. do the homework and for sure youll pass.
ok she does go wayyyy too fast, but if you put alot and i mean ALOT of time into studying and homework she will help you out... i failed the first 2 test got an A and a B on the next 2 and got a B in the class... she WILL HELP YOU.. she doesnt WANT you to fail like most teachers
AMAZING teacher!!! Honestly, the key to this class is to do your homework & study for the test. She is a great teacher & explains everything amazingly well. If you want a great teacher...TAKE HER!
After having to take algebra twice I was scared of Calc. but being a pre-req. for my major i had no choice. But the best thing i could have done was taken it with Fox. She is the best teacher in FIU regardless if you are the best student. she offers extra credit every test and she curves. only students who dont have a future in college fail her cla
She is super cool. Lots and lots of partial credit. Do the homework. She reviews the tests. Very helpful during office hours. Her husband was actually her student. Also, her hair is all over the place. But YOU JUST GOTTA LOVE HER ! I will take her any day.Very Fair Grader. Comparatively easy exams. Easy to talk to person.
Lets face it. Math in general requires a lot of practice & time outside of class. Prof. Fox is the best math professor currently in FIU. You WILL learn in her class, she is not a harsh grader by any means, she curves, & helps you pass.
She is excellent. She knows her subject. She looks and is a bit crazy, but the best math teacher at FIU. I took 2 courses with her.
Best math teacher I've ever had. I dont see why so many people struggled in her class. She gave great lectures and is always open for questions. Plus, you have a tutor. Fox is hilarious and if you need to take a math, take it with her. You will not regret it. Definetely one of my favorite teachers. Thank you Fox for the A!
Fox has been the best math teacher I have ever taken. She doesnt want to fail anyone, allowing you to drop one exam grade. I did well on my exams so I didnt have to take the final. Not only are her lectures informative (she is open to questions), but she also provides a tutor for the class. If you take this class, you have no reason to fail.
Prof.Fox was an amazing professor. Her lectures were very easy to understand. She drops the lowest test grade and replaces it with the final if you need it.Also, she puts 20-30 pts of extra credit on exams! She was always friendlyand willing to help. She really wants to help everyone get an A.
My first review on here. Professor Fox is amazing. Very helpful, funny/crazy and makes calculus pretty understandable. She also gives lots of bonus questions on tests. I didn't use the textbook or do the homework at all and relied solely on her class notes and got an A in the class. Highly recommended. One of the best math teachers I've ever had.
She is really cooky but such a great professor. Her explanations are extremely clear, her tests are straight from what she teaches, and she really cares about her students. DEFINITELY take her if you can, she is simply awesome. I really love math, but even if you struggle with it, she is willing to help you. Go to test prepared and you'll get a A.
I took this professor for pre-cal 15 yrs ago. And in the yrs in between, I've had many math professors and she was THE best. Engaging, personable and truly interested in her students, I will never forget her. If you take her class, get engaged, do the homework, and DO NOT slough off in her class. It is not an easy A (or an easy B for that matter)
this is the hardest class i have ever had to take in college. she does not teach well at all. she is messy with her little smart board. has her TA teaching for her because her "husband" is in the board and she has to attend speacial events..wtf why do i pay fiu for. im just so upset this is not a good teacher to take business calculus.
Prof. Fox is one of the best professors I've had at fiu. she really wants her students to pass trig with a high grade. If she sees you're struggling, she'll drop whatever test score you want and replace it with the final. She's also extremely helpful if you ask questions.
Although the professor is sort of crazy. She Shows funny videos in class & stuff, she is good. The class is a challenge. If you are bad at math take the extended course. TRUST ME, she moves fast. I had the best TA everr and saved my ass. But, she's leaving after this semester. So if there isn't a good TA watch out!
She would say, u'll get an "A" if u do lots of HW practice, take notes, and are aware of basic algebra; if not its hard to pass. For test's, she'll have MANY extra credit pts.Have lots of time available to work on Many problems she assigns which will help on the test ALOT! She's a fine teacher, nice, does lots of HW in clas answers Q's DO UR WORK!!
This teacher seems easy but she is not.The material is not hard and she teaches it ok. Her test on the other hand are HARD, i mean like they are completely different to what she says will be on the test. Don't take Fox if you think it is going to be an easy A because it's not.
She is a wonderful professor (although I sometimes think she should go into meteorology). She cares a lot about her students passing and is very amiable. She gives 3 test and a final (drops the lowest grade). If you aren't a great test taker DONT take; I suggest you look for a class where you have more chances to improve grades.
This class is not easy. She has all these fantastic comments but shes not helpful when it comes down to your grade.HER TEST ARE RIDICULOUSLY HARD. One thing is whats on the homework and another is what she pull out on you on the test. I dont recommend her to anyone thats not a math major. with that said, youve been warned...
What she teaches is completely different from the exams. I thought I was able to get at least a C but her exams and even her extra credit is not enough. I am good at math, but I guess not a very great test taker when it comes to her exams. Shes not a bad person, just her teaching is not very clear.
She is an amazing teacher. This is coming from someone who does not lvoe math and is pretty mediocre at it. She gives you so many chances to get a least a B or an A in the class. She will do a question a thousand times until you understand. Definitely recommend her!
i did not have this professor but i heard she gives over 100 points of extra credit and drops a quiz. My teacher only gave 20 points. Take her if you fail you are not meant for business
amazing teacher!!! Can get hard at times but it is the material. Tries her hardest for everyone is the class to understand. I would really recommend her
Those who say her exams are difficult and unpredictable have clearly never even looked at the homework. She really cares about her students and wants everyone to do well. She also gives a lot of extra credit which helps boost your grade. overall amazing professor.
Best math teacher i have ever had she is very helpful and shows you hot to solve each type of formula step by step. She also drops your lowest test grade.
amazing doesnt even begin to descirbe her. i was worried about taking a calc class but she really made it easy. has a A give tutoring sessions before and after class and if very helpful, you need to study and do the hw so you learn but the test questions are straight from the hw.
Shes a great teacher and takes a real interest in the class but dont be fooled because she is a hard teacher. she does go out of her way to help all of her students and even has a guy to offer tutoring sessions. i slacked off in this class and failed but if i definitely would have taken advantage of the help i would have gotten maybe a b
(Calc II) She is always willing to help if you do not understand something in the lecture or homework. She is also passionate about what she teaches and connects her lectures to everyday things we barely realize. Do the homework more than once and be willing to learn and listen during lectures. Ask questions! :) Professor Fox is the greatest.
If you don't pass this class with her, then there's no hope you'll pass it with anyone else. If you do well on the first 2 tests and decent on the final, you'll pass. There's 4 tests and a cumulative final but she drops the lowest test grade. She posts her lectures online but if you're not going to keep up, then go to class. I recommend her.
Take her. I'm not really sure how people don't pass unless they just don't try at all. Make sure you do really well on the easier tests because she drops the lowest grade, which is probably the 4th test for most people. Also, go to the review sessions that her learning assistant provides.
She's the best Business Calculus professor on campus. She does whatever is best for the student and she really cares about everyone. If you try, she helps you out a lot and her teaching methods are great. TAKE HER!
TAKE HER!!!! She really does care when it comes to you passing this class. I did really good on the first two tests, got a C on the third and completely failed the fourth one bc i didnt really care :/ she dropped it and i ended up with a B+ :)))
Take her! Absolutely amazing professor. She is funny, helpful and cares about her students. Simply amazing. It is not an easy class but if you do the homework you will do fine. Amazing TA too.
Outstanding professor and Outstanding TA. She cares greatly about her students and is very passionate about the subject. Very clear, and TA goes over HW before class and tutors after. Not an easy class, but if you do the work you'll get a good grade.
She is one of the only professors in the Math department that doesn't have an accent. She is a great person, always willing to help students in any way. She is very interesting and totally worth waking up and getting to class at 6:30 AM to listen to her lectures. FABULOUS!
Took her for Bus Calc and she was very clear and helpful. The class is not easy but she makes it so easy for her students to learn and her TA had tutoring sessions before and after class as well as Exam Review sessions. Do the homework problems she assigns and you'll do fine on the exams.
Business calc. Great prof, great TA, great class. If you are good at math, this class is easy. If you aren't good at math, she offers so much help (again, her TA is awesome). Do the hw and review it before the exam, you'll do fine! Its easy if you put effort :)
If you have strong math skills, this class is not bad at all! If you struggle, there is a lot of extra help with the course. Try not to get another class before or after this class because TA provides review sessions which are VERY helpful. If you do homework & practice problems theres no reason you shouldn't be passing. Her exams are very fair.
FIU's best mathematics professor, hands down! As long as you do all your homework over and over again, this class will be easy because YOU already know what to expect on the exams. Exams are EXTREMELY similar to the homework and the examples gone over in class, if not the same. Also helps students in class and has a TA. Can make funny remarks too!
what an amazing teacher!!!! would take any math class with her. attendance isnt mandatory but you should go to class. its helpful. book is used to practice material taught but homework isnt collected. grades fairly on tests and will answer any questions you have. stays on a topic to help answer any questions.
Amazing professor!!!! No need to study on your own if you go to class and pay attention. You'll have to practice a lot!!! (10-15 hour per week). Exam problems come from in-class and homework problems. Highly recommended! Good luck:)
Had her a couple of years ago. Her TA actually taught for her a few times. Spends too much time gossiping about other teachers. also misses her office hours too much.
An awesome professor. I would say the Best math Professor!!! She knows the material and gives all you need to do well on the exams. Though, you have to study and memorized a lot of content, but the professor will give you everything you need to pass and get a good grade.
Professor Fox is an amazing, even if you have to get up for the 6:40 am class....take her for calc. 2. The test are almost all from the book and the notes, , its not a class where you can skip the homework and expect to do good. She actually makes calc. 2 enjoyable. Got an A.
The best math teacher overall. she cares about her students and she will do whatever is in her power for you to pass with an A. her TA lisandra is also of great help
You will only pass with the help of her T.A. She goes off on tangents 90% of the class, and teaches 10%. Then what you see on the test is nothing she mentioned in class. Buy the book because you absolutely must do a lot of HW in order to pass her tests.
Nothing good teaching!Go to the T.A. Don't believe her when she say "I'll double the final grade if you do it better than any other test. It's a big lie. Choose another one.
Great professor! She honestly wants everyone to pass and it's helpful if you attend the L.A sessions. I had Kathryn for an L.A and she's the reason I passed! I'd definitley take her again. But you must put an effort in this class, test questions are like the homeworks.
Great teacher! Even though the class is early, it's worth it! Explains everything clearly and goes over if you don't understand! Exams are straight from the book/class notes. Very lenient on exams as well! :) :) Taking her for Calc2 for sure
Very good professor. Just do the homework and you should do fine on the exams
I loved prof Fox!! she is amazing super helpful when taking exams. She gives a lot of extra credit points and drops one exam. NO QUIZZES!! the thing is waking up early for class but totally worth it! I highly recommend her!!
BEST CALCULUS TEACHER at FIU. Her class is straight forward she teaches the material you. The student needs to practice homework problems as she assigns. Slackers will fail with no practice. Math is practice and understanding.
For students who aren't so great in Math, this teacher is for you. She provides two TA's and recorded lectures. There are 4 tests and a final. The lowest grade gets dropped out of the first three test, and she curves at the end. This class is hard and will require a lot of effort but Mrs.Fox tries her hardest to help you understand. Take her!
3 exams, the third one being the "final", each cumulative because it's all relevant material. Gives quizzes that don't count against your overall grade but serve as EC points to exams. Attendance not needed, she records her own lectures and posts it ALL to Blackboard. She PROVIDES you with more than enough to succeed. If you fail, you didn't try.
I scheduled a meeting with this professor after the first exam for help and clarification. She told me that I had no chance in the class and that I should drop it. She said if I needed to know what I did wrong on the exam that I should just look at the answer key. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. SHE IS A TERRIBLE PROFESSOR
Her exams consist of 10-15 questions! Get one or two wrong and it's a grade lower. She is very unclear and you'll spend hours trying to figure out one thing. When you ask her a question on something she just says to look at what she did on the board and memorize it. Her new TA never shows up on time, even on the times he puts. Worst class EVER!
She is amazing. This is a hard class and you HAVE to put in a ton of study hours. Pay attention to every single problem she goes over in class because the tests questions are similar, if not the same. The word problems she does are the same with different numbers. Extra credit on all exams, drops one low test grade. Will triple your final if needed
Wonderful Cal 2 professor. She provides recorded lectures & extra credit on each exam (3 exams & a final, but I do not remember if this applies to the final). Her LA was very helpful too as she provided review sessions & posted previous exams to study from. She gave A LOT of HW, but did not collect it. However, practice is the diff bw an A & a B
AVOID!!! This professor has to be one of the worst ones I have ever taken. She is rude whenever you try to approach her. She cannot teach and assumes you know everything about previous topics. Avoid her at all costs!!
She spends half of the class time explaining the proof behind a formula... as if it will help you pass her exams. Her hand writing can be really hard to understand most of the time. Explains things in an extremely complicated manner. If math is not your strong suit.. take another professor.
I hope this isn't too late for some people registering but DO NOT TAKE HER! She is satan. I cannot stress the fact that this professor has made my life and a few friends who are taking her class hell. She is completely unfair and rude. I cannot believe FIU would hire someone like her. Terrible attitude and doesn't care about her students at all.
THE ABSOLUTE BEST PROFESSOR AT FIU! Dr. Fox makes Calc 2 easy and manageable. The class is 3 tests and a final. Test 1 or 2 can be dropped. Make sure you do well on Test 3 because it counts as a test and 30% of final. SCALED GRADING FOR CLASS. Lisandra the LA is the BEST! Posts all the lectures on blackboard with voice :)
This professor is simply amazing for calculus II.
This class is kind of tough. My best advice is to do amazing on the first two exams. She drops the lowest of the first 3 exams and exam 4 is 30% of the final. Do the homework on time and make flashcards with homework problems.
Hate her!! I tried every which way to study for her first 3 tests (she gives 4 +a final), it did not matter what I did or how long I studied I could not get higher than a D and these are the only grades in her class.. she also gives OVER 60 hw problems a week. I did all of them, studied them religiously and still had to drop despite everything!ughh
This class was the hardest math I've take. If you attend class & the LA sessions, you have a chance. If this is the first math you're taking at FIU, she will tell you to drop the first day. Past experience is crucial or you'll struggle. Her test are just like her notes & she makes the final, but that's all there is. Good luck if you choose her!
Prof Fox is a great professor teaching a very hard course. This class will consume your time. Total of 4 tests and a final. Drops the lowest of the first 3 and extra credit on all test. She's straight to the point and says it how it is. If you don't take the time to STUDY you will not pass. Tough class, would take her again. Take Fox you will learn
She's a super good teacher! Gives an extra credit quiz before every test and gives extra credit if you attend the reviews on the weekend. Drops the lowest test and is always willing to help. It's not necessary to go to class because she records her lectures and posts them on blackboard. Test are very similar to her lectures also!
I would definitely take her for business calculus, she is the best professor for a difficult class. She has four exams and a final. All of her exams have extra credit. She will help you out if you are not doing so good. TAKE HER if you want a good grade in the class. This course does involve a lot of studying in order to be prepared for the tests.
She is a great professor for the class if you want a good grade. This class involves a lot of studying. I went to every single tutoring with Angie and Ian who are the best. Julian is great for the review sessions he does before the exams. The tutoring is the reason I did amazing in this class. Take this class and put in effort, you should do well
This is the type of class that will require you to spend hours during the week to receive an A in. She offers various LA sessions and records her lectures incase you miss the class. I was one of those type of people who would go to a couple of the LA sessions and pull all nighters before the exam. I recommend students to take this course with her.
Best Calc Teacher at FIU! The LA sessions helped so much!
Professor Fox is a nice lady, but the way she teaches makes math way more complicated than it needs to be. She uses awkward and complex examples to try to explain things and moves so fast that you can't keep up. If you miss just 1 of her classes YOU WILL BE LOST! This class is graded based on 4 exams and a final. Her tests are extremely difficult!
I finished high school with precal and I ended up withdrawing from this class because I had gotten F's on the first tests. ***IF YOU HAVE NEVER TAKEN CALCULUS IN YOUR LIFE, DO NOT TAKE HER*** she expects you to know most of the calculus topics she lectures about. I studied about 20 hours for each exam, on top of all the (not collected) hw.
This is hands down the best Calculus Professor available. She makes everything as easy as possible and offers a huge amount of extra credit points on her Tests. There are also 3 T.A's assigned to her which can help you 1 on 1 or have group sessions throughout the semester to help with anything. Hard Material but thats Calculus for you.
Do not listen to the bad reviews. This is your best option at passing business calc. If I had to take anymore math classes or go back in time I would take her for every math class i've had. She offers a ridiculous amount of extra credit on each exam. Pay attention in class and go to the TA sessions and yourd guranteed atleast a B. Put effort for A
I took her class and the way she counts the exams is very weird and her lectures towards the end of the semester do not really make sense. I wish that this class had a MyLabsPlus because they would have a better passing rate than 20%. She is honestly the best of all the bad teachers, but take her because she also has an army of LAs that help.
The best of all the bad teachers? Dude, she's the best of ALL of the teachers! For ANY math class that you take with her, she'll make the class to accommodate YOU. She'll make the tests based off your homework and the lecture, she'll offer you 20-30 points of extra credit per test, and she'll help you at any time of the day. Take her now!
this class isnt easy and she warns you in the beginning that you NEED to study and do the homework as well as attend class. i would go to the LA's review sessions before class so her lectures would make more sense to me. i would say shes the best out of the bunch bc of the extra credit and since shes head of the department. tough class but doable.
You must put in the hours in order to pass this class. If you skip class you will fail because it is just that complicated. If you decide to skip class make sure you have a really good tutor that knows what they are doing because other wise you will fail. Like she says in the beginning you have to put in the hours if not it will be impossible.
Welcome, you are out of your mind if you do not take prof. Fox for biz calc! She is your best chance of passing and her LA's are the best! Ian is the best Biz Calc LA at FIU!
I took Business Calc by mistake and is now excess credit for me but I did enjoy the class. It was quite challenging though and not many pass this course no matter the professor. Unless you have calculus prior knowledge I do not recommend you take this course unless you want to put your GPA on the line and risk it, unless you really need to.
This is prob the hardest business prereq besides accounting, so expect to put in a lot of work. Fox gives a TON of extra credit on her exams and her tests are pretty straight forward. Do the hw, pay attention in class, and go to the (FREE) LA sessions. The class will also be A LOT easier if you took precal the semester before
She is the person who sets up the questions for all MAC2233 and I have to say she doesn't really go a great job. It seems like MAC 2233 professors are only instructed to share problems that will not come on the exam. My advice, do those strange word problems bec chances are they'll show up on the exams and have most points.
By far the best calculus instructor at FIU. This class is not easy but she definitely does her part in teaching the course. Most test questions are similar to the ones gone over in lectures so go to class! If you skip class, don't do the optional homework or study for tests, you will fail.
I previously rated Professor Fox 2 points, however, her extended summer course bumped her up to 4 points. The class is long and extremely challenging. Fox goes very in-depth with the material, which is later reinforced by her LA Ian. The grade is based on 5 tests with many extra credit points. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this class over the regular one!
Rarely available to help. Often misses her office hours or is super-late. If you happen to catch her in, she will usually suggest you see her LA instead of helping you. You can't even complain to the head of the math department because she is the head. On the bright side, she gives tons (and I mean TONS) of extra credit.
Professor Fox is probably the best teacher for calculus 2 class. She knows the course and the best thing about her is her pedagogy. She explains everything really detailed and good, and her LA's are amazing for review. You have to study a lot since is calc 2, in other words not an easy class. But you do everything that she says and you'll be fine.
Professor Fox is ok but i wouldn't take her again.
This is one of those profs that really broke me to understand why you do the problems you do. Which is a major factor when learning math. I didn't do great in the course & am super stubborn with math but I really thank her for the way she teaches. We need more proffs like her. Just do problems on your own. you need to be able to do probs naturally
I have to heavily disagree with the previous comment. This is one of the best math educators I have ever had. She makes the content understandable and makes it relatable. She likes to throw in little funny stories here and there. Class recordings and tutor are very helpful. Gives great curve for test. Course is challenging if you've never taken cal
Professor Fox is a great teacher. The subject itself is very hard, but like anything - it's about how much time you put in. She's very understanding and caring with her students and is willing to offer help in order for her students to pass.
Professor Fox is an amazing professor. Calc for Business is a hard class. This is my second time taking it but she helps students understand the subject. She gives a lot of EC and has 3 TA's which have multiple review sessions throughout the week, so if you don't understand something, they will help you. HW is not mandatory but highly recommended.
AMAZING TEACHER! I would highly recommend her if your not very strong math person. She has her LA's hold tutoring sessions before, after class and on weekends to help you out. If you don't pass with her it's because you really didn't try. No homeworks only 5 tests, 20 point curves on every exam. She really wants you to pass!
Professor Fox is a very caring person and really wants everyone to do well. However, she says over and over that the test are lecture based. That was not true for my experience. I went to every class and watched her recorded lectures while studying, went to the LA reviews, and once I was taking the test the questions where totally different.
She is the BEST!! I don't understand how she could have any negative reviews. She makes everything make sense. She wants you to pass and gives tons of extra credit. Practice from what she teaches in class and attend some reviews and an A will be very attainable.
She is... okay. I had to withdraw because I didn't keep up. I had a very good cal 1 teacher so maybe my expectations were not meet. If you can take a better professor then, by all means, do it. This is not an easy course so be prepared to study and do problems over and over again. Do not take if you don't have a strong background in cal 1 either.
She's really the best professor you could get for Calculus for Business. It's a tough subject but she does what she can to help you understand and pass with a good grade. I wouldn't take any other professor for such a hard class.
Professor Fox is a bit intimidating because she knows how to handle a VERY challenging course. calculus was the hardest class I've ever taken and she made it so much more manageable. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!
Fox is the best professor for this subject. She works with the dean and does what she can to make sure you pass and is willing to take any advise. She has an army of LA's to help all the time. This subject requires a lot of study time no matter who you take.
Professor Fox is the best, she is very caring and explains everything really easy. She gives a lot of extra credit on her exams, and her exams are exactly the homework and what she explains on class. I highly recommend her for business calculus.
She is the best math professor I've had. She explains the material very well and is open to explaining questions. There are 4 tests and a final, she drops the lowest test out of the first 3 and adds a lot of extra credit on the exams. Calculus is a very difficult course though so you definitely need to study and do your homework.
Professor Fox is amazing! Took her for business calc in the spring semester and loved her! She gives extra credit questions, doesn't give mandatory homework and sends good reviews for the tests. Definitely take her!
Fox is the best teacher I've ever had. Even tough the lectures are not mandatory, going to class is crucial. She explains everything so good. Weekly tutoring sessions which are very useful and also every test she gives 20 extra points just by writing your name, which means getting a 70 is really an A. Pay attention, do the reviews and you will pass
Professor Fox is the best choice for Business Calculus. It's really not that hard to pass if you practice the problems over and over and attend her LA sessions. She curves all her 4 exams like 20 points and pulls the problem from the homework she assigns in class. She even records all of her lectures to help you study more for her exams
She is the best for Business Calc. This class is literally designed for you to pass!! HW is not required, just go to to TA tutoring and practice a couple of question. They are super super helpful. Review past exams if you can. Get all A's in your exams so you can skip final. She curves the exams, so it's possible to get all A's easily if you study.
Without her extra credit I would have maybe passed with a C for the most. However, it is very possible to get an A in her class. You review the video lecture of the Test Review and the exam is very similar. A lot of practice is necessary but she usually just changes the number. Please don't wait last minute either
If you fail, it's truly because you didn't try. She curves so much on the exams and makes it so simple for you to understand. Pay attention, do your homework (WHICH IS OPTIONAL) and attend the LA sessions. 4 exams and a final, no homework. If you get an A on all 4 exams you're exempt from the final. She's the best professor i've had at FIU by far.
I took Professor Fox for MAC 2312 and it was a pretty easy class. I took it at 6:40 am and the classes were recorded so when I could not make it to class I would watch the video and get caught up. Her tests are out of 120 and she does a group open book quiz which adds points to your exam score. Mylabsplus is extra credit and exemption is possible.
Professor Fox is interesting and rambles during lectures about random stuff. Other than that she as a person is really cool, the subject just sucks. Although class is hard, she makes it very hard to fail often giving group quizzes that provide extra credit points to the tests. Homework is assigned but not mandatory.
Professor Fox is the best professor for Business Calculus. If you go to class and take notes you will definitely pass the class. You have 4 group quizzes and 4 exams. If you get A's on the first 4 test you don't have to take the final. Her LA Emily is the best go to her if you have any questions or if you need to learn the material.
Fox is THE BEST professor for Business Calc. She designs the course for you to pass. This class is not supposed to be easy so stay up to date with lectures, do the HW, go to LA sessions and take Fox! If you fail, then you did not try or care. Plus she gives extra credit for each exam and makes sure you understand everything.
Final grade is calculated through 3 exams and 1 final, 5 exams total. She drops the lowest exam grade. She gives a ton of extra credit & the LAs are great. Lots of study sessions before and after class. The material is difficult so it will be a hard class but Professor Fox does everything she can to help you pass.
I barely studied and finished with a B+ because of her extra points. The material is tough but Fox makes up for it by giving between 30-40 extra points on every test. The semester is made up of 4 tests and a final (she drops the lowest test grade). There is a quiz before every test but its only purpose is to give you extra points.
She gives over 30% extra credit for every test, and a total of 4 tests in the semester. the final is cumulative. you can skip the final if you get all A on the tests, but since Covid-19 happened, this wasnt applied, but she made it simple for us too pass. just make sure to study, you have to put in work, so dont be lazy and you'll pass the class :)
Professor Fox is one of the most caring professors I have ever taken. She does everything in her power to help you pass. Quizzes before each test to give you extra credit points that boost your grade by A LOT - its a very difficult class so make sure to attend LA sessions (Emily is awesome) and GO TO CLASS! She also drops the lowest test grade.
She is a very good lecturer, and will always answer most questions you have in class. Homework isn't mandatory but I do recommend doing in in preparation for the tests. Go to the LA sessions if you're confused and DEFINITELY come to the group quizzes to get the extra credit for the tests it helps a lot!
Great instructor, lots of extra credit and very helpful. If you study it's an easy A
Took her for Calc 2 summer A (6 weeks) and shes amazing. Gives a crazy amount of extra credit. The hw was MLP. Shes very nice, funny, and will help you with any question. Calc 2 is hard and Im not good at math, but I got an A since I studied like crazy during covid and with her help of EC. You HAVE to put in the work. Take her if you can.
Professor Fox was honestly one of the best professors I ever had. She is so caring and funny, and tries to make the class interesting. She gives extra credit and she is fair at grading, i would recommend her!
Professor Fox has been the most generous professor I have ever had. There are 4 quizzes that are counted as extra credit for each exam and the hw is not mandatory, but I would recommended to do it to help prep. You could legit get a D on the test, but the extra credit could boost you to a B or even an A. Its so hard to fail this class TAKE IT!
This professor is very generous and teaches the material very well. All quizzes are extra credit for the exams (quizzes are open notes). Final replaces lowest test grade. Homework is extra credit worth 10% if you complete all of it. You have to try to fail this class.
Professor Fox was one of the nicest professors ever! You cannot fail her class unless you simply don't show up to the quizzes and exams. I took the class remotely and we took quizzes and exams over zoom. Quizzes are open notes and whatever points you get from quizzes go to your exam for that chapter. Go to the LA sessions they really help! TAKE HER
I used this website to choose Fox and I am so glad I did. She makes Calc do-able! Class consisted of mainly 4 tests and final and she gives so much help for your grades. Quizzes all count as points towards tests. She assigns lots of homework that is not required but really recommended you do because that's how you get your grades. 4 LA's help a lot
It's impossible to fail this class with all the given extra credit opportunities. You have to watch her lectures, pay attention, and do the homework questions to pass the exams. You're graded only from 4 exams and a final. Before every exam there's a quiz that doesn't count towards your grade but is extra credit towards the exam.
You have to really try to FAIL her class. She gives so many opportunities for you to get a good grade. Quizzes are extra credit for tests. She doesnt grade hw. Attendance is optional. Study for tests with the quizzes. Everything multiple choice. If I had any other professor I would have earned a C, but all of her extra credit helped me get an A.
Quizes help a lot in giving extra credit for the exam. The exam is much harder than the quiz tho, so if u did good on the quiz, dont automatically assume the exam will also be easy. Calculus is hard, so if you have a hard time in math you will probs still have a hard time. Hw is optional, but she bases the quiz and exam on the hw so do some of it.
This class is just quizzes and tests. Quizzes are considered extra credit that get added on to your test grade. Homework isnt graded. I never showed up to class and I passed.
Professor Fox is the best Calc 2 professor and a cool person in general. Grade is based off of 4 tests and a final. One of first three tests is dropped. Quizzes give a lot of bonus for tests. HW not graded but good for understanding. Class at 6:40 AM wasn't bad, but sometimes taking a quiz or test at that time is rough. I highly recommend her.
Even thought Professor Fox is not the best at keeping track what she is doing while covering the material, she is the most helpful professor I ever had. 4 Exams 1 Final. 4 Quizzes that are extra credit points for each exam. Always go to the LA session for the week of reviews, it will help you a lot.
great prof, you can tell she knows what shes doing but if youre not great at math do not take her for summer. very fast paced and you basically need to teach yourself. she did group quizzes that count as extra credit on the exams. very nice lady, so-so teacher
If you want to pass Calc, take her. Shes not great at explaining but the amount of extra credit in this class makes it impossible to fail. The homework is not checked but you can do it and have notes for your group quizzes (which are solely extra credit points). The tests are just like the quizzes and get all the extra credit points added on top.
She is honestly a great professor. She makes the class incredibly easy to pass, it amazed me sometimes. 4 tests and the final bust she drops your lowest test grade and replaces your next lowest test grade if you do better on the final than your second lowest test grade. she assigns homework but you dont have to do it. She offers extra credit quiz
Professor Fox was a very nice and helpful teacher. She was very accommodating with grading: quizzes were extra credit, open note, and taken in groups. The lowest exam grade was dropped. 4 quizzes, 4 exams, 1 final exam. Homework was not checked or graded. You can learn the content and practice your way, if you know the material you will do well.
ur at the mercy of group quizzes and exams. thats it. no hw. so u better make sure ur group studies the material to pass. hybrid class, but the second day for remote lecture wasn't even listed on the enrollment nor syllabus, chewed us out 4 attendance and not viewing the online lectures (??) and sent wrong announcements to wrong class. never again.
It's calculus so it's not going to be easy. Your grade is based on group quizzes and tests. To pass you honestly just have to study the quizzes which are like the tests. You have to dedicate some time to study to do good but she cares so much about her student's passing so you have to really not try at all to fail this class. Shes super sweet
Don't even think about it! You will learn nothing from her. Her assistant teach more than her and shows up more interest in your learning.
Professor Fox tries really hard to make her students pass by giving a lot of extra credit and providing optional homework as extra practice. As long as you dedicate some time to reviewing the material and using the resources she provides you will be just fine. I really recommend taking her for business calc. Make sure you actually try in the class!
Professor Fox is going to try and do her best to help you pass. There are 4 exams, the last one being the hardest and a final. Before each exam, there is a quiz that you can do in groups of 6 or less and it adds extra credit points to the exam. No hw. She teaches well but sometimes she does the math in her head so its hard to keep track.
Ms. Fox's class is easy to pass if you self-study. Her lectures are hard to follow so it is up to you to study and learn the material yourself but the LA is very helpful. Take advantage of the group quizzes that are EC. If you do the homework questions she assigns and teach yourself the material you will pass.
This teacher wants you to pass the class. There was no mandatory homework, but it is highly recommended to do them. She lets you drop your lowest grade for one of the modules and tells us what is expected on the test. No surprises. You need to study for the quiz, which is a group quiz and open notes, and the individual tests.
Honestly, the only way you won't pass is if you don't try. There are 4 tests and a final exam. Obviously, calculus isn't easy for most. However, you get help literally everyday from the LAs. The group quizzes are life changers because they give you free points. Homework and attendance isn't mandatory. TAKE THE CLASS!!!
Homework was never mandatory but you're better off for doing it because the tests were just like the homework. She gives an extra credit quiz for each module that you do in groups and you get to use any notes/homework that's written down. She will also drop your lowest test grade. She really does everything she can to help you pass.
She is overall a very nice person but is not good at explaining things. Her lectures are very confusing and not helpful. The tests are difficult and sometimes are not even based on what we learn in class. The only good thing about this class is the group quizzes that only help bring your grade up. You have to have a good background in math get an A
She is a very good person but her exams are very difficult and there are no homework that can raise your grade. In addition, his explanations are very difficult to understand and the most of the class don't understand
Her lectures might be hard to follow at first, but she records her lectures and posts them on canvas, which helps a lot. TAs are always available and willing to help. She offers group quizzes which adds extra points to your test. You only get 4 tests+final as a grade, she drops your lowest test grade out of the first 3 tests.
Worst mathematics professor I have ever had. She seems nice, she is just is not a good teacher. She goes way too fast, she grades only based on tests, and her handwriting is on the same level as a kindergarder. Requires you to basically teach yourself everything. Avoid like the plague.
Sloppy writing, hard to follow, grades based on like 4 tests. No margin for error in this class, do not take her, take another teacher.
Nice person, terrible teacher. She wants you to pass the class, and you probably would if she taught well. She is hard to follow and incoherently scribbles her unorganized ideas on the board and expects you to follow without any sort of pausing at all. This is the first math class I ever had to get a personal tutor it is so bad. AVOID.
Your grade is based on 4 exams and group quizzes but she gives so many extra credits. her lecture is hard to follow but she records them so just watch them again. Overall i would take her again she is very sweet :)
Sloppy handwriting which makes it difficult to understand. She grades only on 4 exams which are difficult and you have to study a lot in order to understand even half the chapters.
She is the best teacher I've ever had for math. The class consists of 4 exams, 4 group quizes open book and notes that are extra credit, and the final. There is no hw. U have first group quiz around 20 points and then the exam. If u got a 70 in the exam but did the quiz right your grade for the exam is 90. No final if scored above 90 in all exams.
Professor Fox really does want to help you. If you put in the effort she will help you. Her lectures are engaging and consist of her going over notes from chapter. Beware this class is only graded on the 4 exams plus the final so you will need to put in the work to get the grade, but her LA's have office hours everyday and she is very caring!
Professor Fox cares about you passing her class. She will make sure everyone gets enough extra credit and always has a great smile. Her class consists of 4 exams and 4 group quizzes; the quizzes are used as extra credit for the exam where you can earn up to 25 extra points, which comes in handy for your exams. Great teacher!
I loved Professor Fox so much her class was very enjoyable. I haven't taken a math in years and still passed her class with flying colors. The grading for the class consists of 4 exams, 4 quizzes, and one final.
The actual class wasn't the easiest but she gave us a lot of resources. She would have review sessions and had like 5 TA's to help you with whatever you needed.
I would recommend Professor Fox, she is very sweet and cares about her students. Her class is 4 group quizzes that are extra credit points for their corresponding tests and a final exam. Her hand writing is a little sloppy and hard to understand but she has assistants that help. The class was pretty easy and no homework.
This hybrid class has optional bi-weekly meetings and pre-recorded lectures. It involves substantial ungraded handwritten homework. There are 4 quizzes and 4 exams. I recommend supplementing lectures with Prof. Leonard on YouTube. The TA is excellent. The instructor is supportive and aims for all students to pass. Very responsive.
Professor Fox is great, she gives infinite opportunities for extra credit. She does group quizzes which are really helpful and exams are way easier than the homework.
I enjoyed the structure of this class - it was easy to manage and learn the material. I still had to commit time to study for the class. However, it was not that difficult because Fox provides many ways for students to learn the material, such as online reviews before an exam.
I took summer session A so it was very fast paced. The homework was optional and so was attendance, but both are necessary to do well in the class. There was a quiz before each exam that counted as extra credit. She is always available to help clarify questions. If you put in the work, the class is relatively easy.
Professor Fox's class had a great structure - group quizzes, dropped exams, and helpful TAs. While the lectures could be tough, the recorded videos and unstuckstudy made studying easier. If you put in the work, this class is very manageable.
Classes are heavily dependent on lectures. Grades include 4 exams, and before each exam there is a quiz worth 20 points total that go towards exam score. If anything the dropping of the lowest test score and the quizzes are what make prof. Fox a 2/5 and not a 1/5. Even her lectures include messy handwriting which can prove difficult to understand.
The only grades you get are the exams and you can get additional points from a group quiz. How she teacher is very difficult for me to understand, I basically have to teach everything to myself. Things that she will say are on the exams aren't on the exams. She assigns random zooms and teaches at random times and dates apart from class schedule.
This professor is very degrading, and threatened to report us for failing when the class average was a 25 on exams. Her lectures are not helpful, you will need to teach yourself the entire time. Her handwriting is messy, and half the time nothing is explained well. If you are bad at math do not take her, you will fail. If I could give a 0 I would.
Terrible teacher. She is a nice lady but she only grades test. Her teaching is terrible. She gives no chances for students to pass. She does not give any homework for her students to bring her grade. The class is poorly structured. This definitely the worst math teacher, I've had at FIU.
Fox is a really bad professor. She is against the concept of making mistakes so strongly she will be very rude to you if you don't do well on her exams. The only saving grace is when she shows mercy or rare acts of kindness in her quizzes, test questions, and the multiple choice packets. Avoid her. You're better off with another professor.
Your entire grade is made up of 4 exams plus the final keep that in mind. She'll drop the lowest module grade sure…. But test averages have been 15-20%. Nice lady, but she expects you to already know what she's talking about. Takes a long time to reply to emails
This professor cares. She wants students to succeed. It is a hard course but she is a good professor. HW is optional, attendance is optional. She post lectures online and has extra review zooms for quizzes and tests. Open note group quizzes are extra credit on tests. She literally had someone call me when I woke up late for an exam so I got credit.
Sometimes, she can move at a fast pace. Homework is optional, and she only grades tests; quizzes are extra credit. I recommend doing a few problems on your own time to practice because throughout the class, she only lectures and does not give us time to work out problems. There are tutoring sessions on Zoom every week; I recommend joining those.
she's a nice lady and def wants you to pass her class.. her cut off for c is a 60 and she gives a lot of extra credit on exams- only grades off 4 exams + extra credit quizzes besides a final which depending on your grade you don't have to take --- STUDY!!! find a method that works for you
This is a great professor if you know algebra well. However, 100% attention is also needed in her class as she goes through the material quickly. Group quizzes are extra credit and it is open book for your module grade, you can get up to around 30 extra points. And the actual test is usually quite similar to the group quizzes but it is closed book.
Professor Fox was hands down the best math professor I think I will ever have. She is so gracious and understanding of the difficulty of the course. She gives open notes, group quizzes that are extra credit for the exam a week later. The content of the quizzes and the exams are all derived from the homework and the lectures.
She's a really sweet professor. Just show up to class since her quiz and exams are based on that.
She was great. I was scared because im awful at math. the class is not easy but if you study and do the optional homework you will do good. Theres quizzes (you can use notes and do them with a group) which serve as extracredit points for the exam. sometimes you do have to selfteach some algebra but she gives many chances to get a good grade!
love this professor, its more the work is hard, but the quizzes are with a group (big chances of passing) and the test is multiple choice. she also drops a quiz and test grade at the end. if you bring your homework to the quiz makes the quiz a lot easier
She is extremely test-heavy, each module is only graded by the exams. There are group quizzes, but they are only considered extra credit to boost your exam grade. You have to make this class your top priority in order to do well because of the amount of studying and self-teaching you must do.
Will learn and easy to pass class type of professor. HW is not graded but available for practice, quizzes w/ groups + notes, serve for extra credit on exams. 4 exams + 1 final, lowest score gets dropped (over 90% on all 4 exams = no final for you). While the class starts super early (not a morning person either), it's worth it. Highly recommend.
I was sure this class would kill me. This teacher though? She made it the easiest class I had this semester. Take notes DURING the lecture. every. word. Even questions from fellow students. Then re-do the notes at home, with steps. IGNORE THE HW COMPLETELY. Demolish the group test with your glorious notes. Would take her thousands of times over.
Boring lectures but everything is recorded she drops the lowest test grade ta review sessions help a lot for exams
Took her for Summer A, but I know if I took her for a regular semester, the difficulty would've dropped to a 2. Hands down best prof for Calc 2. NOTE that I strongly discourage taking her for a 6-week course it's difficult and youll have to work AT LEAST 30 hours a week to pass this course. If you have to tho, then she's the prof to get it done w
great professor, pay attention to the lectures and go to the LA meetings. group quizzes are extra credit for test
I took Calculus In high school so I already had a solid understanding. The class is pretty hard if you do not put the time in to study. This is not a class to procrastinate studying. She doesn't grade homework and the quizzes are group quizzes which ends up being added as Extra credit. She's a great professor but its a hard class.
She's a very sweet professor, but I found her class a bit challenging. I highly recommend you to study a ton for this class and to do the practice problems in the textbook. Also, there are zoom meetings and reviews before class by the LA which I highly recommended. I'm not sure what I got in the class, but I most definitely fail this class.
