YOu have to read and take good notes, but if you listen to what he says, you can pick up on what will be on the test. He repeats certain things in class and you are 99% guaranteed it will be on the test. He also didn't like to keep us the whole 1.15 hrs

This teacher was absolutely awesome. He knows his stuff and he tries to make the class as easy as possible. I got an A and wasn't even trying. Watch it on your essays, though. Try being as concise as possible. Otherwise, awesome teacher.

Bennett is sooo easy. He's really laid back and doesnt make you feel pressured. I had him for speech and he made it really simple to give one. If you're lookin for a speech teacher then you really need to take him....very easy grade.

Very helpful. Hint: Read every night that he assigns stuff b/c you will have a quiz..but they are easy if you read. His tests are super easy. He is a hard grader on papers though. I loved him and his class

This teacher is awesome. I did not try really hard during 102 and still received a high C. But make sure you be very concise and very focused when it comes to essays. He is very literal on these and will not fail to mark off for grammar errors. Another thing, always read the reading assignments, otherwise you will be hurting horribly.

Decent teacher. Adds token assignments. EH 408 is a horrible class though. Don't take it if you're not going to be an English teacher.

I actually took him for english 101 102 and 201! He has to be the best english teacher at JSU. The work isnt that hard and he makes english almost interesting, if possible. I wish I could take him for 202!

This is a very easy class to get an A in. The speeches are super easy. All you have to do is try and show that you put out a little effort. There is only 1 test the whole semester, even the final is a speech.

He was easy to understand. Gives quizes just about everyday, but it forces you to read the material. Gives a bunch so he can drop some of your lowest scores. Test aren't that bad, but he grades kind of hard. He does give partial credit on test. Overall I am happy I took him.

What a great guy! Not only is he completely approachable but he is thorough teacher as well. I have learned so much about composition and he makes a class that I was afraid of stress free and enjoyable! He really teaches his students a lot and is an all around great guy!

I have had M. Bennett for three classes. He is extremely helpful, and he really cares about you as a student. He does not sugar coat things. If you are an English Ed major he doesn't pretend like you are going to have the perfect classroom. He is not real strict on his deadlines. IF YOU GET THE CHANCE, TAKE HIM! HE IS MY FAVORITE TEACHER AT JSU!!

Mr.Bennett is a great teacher. He is easy to get along with and his class is extremely easy. He likes to make it easy for himself so he doesn't give a lot of work. We took one test in his class on a book I did not read. He gave notes the day before the test and I made an A+ on the test solelyoff the notes I had. I recommend him to EVERYONE...!!!

Pro. Bennet is my favorite professor of my freshman year. If you are not good with public speaking he will change that for you. He makes sure the class is well known with one another before you give your speech. He gives you a lot of time to prepare for speeches as well. He is hilarious. I you can help it, I HIGHLY recommend him. Can miss 10 days.

This class was not real hard at all. I was completely mortified by the thought of speaking in front of people, but he helped me get used to it. He lets everyone in the class get to know one another before the first speech, and he truly understands that some people are extremely terrified of speaking in front of others.

I love Mr. Bennett . He is so helpful ! Whenever you need help he is there to help you. he expects you to turn in your work on time but does give you a week to complete it. don't take him for granted !! you do have a essay every week but he does give you a week and a half to finish it. you really don't need the McGraw hand book. Take Him!!!

Mr. Bennett is an amazing teacher. He always offers his help and he's very understanding. You can turn your assignments in a week after the dhe date, which is pretty cool. He's funny and almost always let us out early.

Mr. Bennett is an awesome English 101 teacher. He lets you revise all of your essays for a higher grade. He is willing to help you if you are having issues. Wrote about 5 essays, 1 book test, and 1 research paper! He tells you exactly what he is looking for. Class never goes the full time.

He has been my favorite professor at JSU. He is funny and keeps things simple. He makes what will be on the tests clear to you. You have a quiz basically each class but they are easy and he gives you bonus points. His tests are pretty straight forward. If you miss class you wont fail but you should probably get notes from someone.

He's a really nice man. Spends a lot of time trying to make sure you're comfortable with your peers, which makes giving speeches a breeze. Doesn't give homework, unless it's your speech assignment. Really laid back. Tries his best to make schedule where you don't come during exam week. Doesn't grade harsh, pretty easy.

Dr. Bennett is a really good choice for an English teacher, especially as a first semester freshman. He is reasonable and fair in his grading and syllabus scheduling. I highly recommend his class and hope to take him again in the future.

Bennett is a very easy speech teacher! He is rather lenient on his grading of speeches, and I believe we only ever took two tests. You could probably get by without the text book, but it is better to have it so you can follow along with him. Great teacher, makes your feel comfortable while giving speeches, and I definitely recommend him!

Bennett tries his best to make his class interesting (EH 201). You may not like the subject personally, but he makes it bearable. You do have a lot of blogs, and some of them require some thinking, but they will all add up to a test grade. Quizzes every class on what you were suppose to read (except poems). Class is only hard if you never read.

Loved having Mr. Bennett as my Speech teacher. He's a great person, can be a little dry at times, but is overall a great professor. He makes his students feel comfortable giving speeches and even offers extra credit! Lenient on grading. One test and about 6 speeches the whole semester. You can get by without a book. Definitely recommend him!

u dont write any essays or research papers. I never read what is assigned, but I do read the summaries and easily do good on the 5 pt quizzes he gives each class. His test come from ur notes and quotes he tells u to highlight.10 matching, 5 identification, 5 quotes and u have to know which reading it came from and who wrote it, and a 1-page essay.

He's a solid choice for EH 201. He gives a quiz every day, but they are easy. Also, his test are really easy. It is crucial to show up to class. Most importantly, I actually learned something in this class, and he made it as interesting as he could!

Speeches in his class were not stressful at all. He made sure you felt comfortable while giving speeches and didnt grade too harsh on them

Professor Bennett is very caring and doesnt mind working one on one with you if you need any help! He assigns one research paper, some in class essays, and few test which arent that hard. Hes a pretty tough grader on some essays and other assignments but if you put effort in then you should be able to make an A.

Love Mr. Bennett. As long as you are able to pace yourself and don't get behind on the readings, you'll do fine. Clear syllabus, no extra assignments. Tests aren't comprehensive, and he always tells you what to study for. Take good notes and make sure to highlight the quotes in the text and it's easy to succeed in his class.

Mr. Bennett is such a great teacher. He is a lenient grader and makes sure you are comfortable giving speeches. He gives a few group assignments to help you become more acquainted with those you will be speaking in front of. Overall, I enjoyed his class and would definitely take him again in the future.

Mr. Bennett is an amazing professor!! I had him for EH344 and he made every assignment as clear as possible and always gave plenty of time for us to ask questions if necessary. We also never stayed the full time.

Mr. Bennet has one of the most inspiring stories and is one of the best professors at JSU! I reccomend him for all your English and definitely oral communications needs, he is sweet and caring and will work with you to get the grade you want. All assignments are super simple and you only need the textbook for the first half of semester!

I loved taking Professor Bennetts class, and will take another next semester. There is a good bit of reading, and a small quiz that follows each read, but he made the lectures interesting and easy to follow. The test are not bad if you do the work and don't miss his lectures. He offered extra credit multiple times and was always willing to help.

There were many quizzes in this class, and if you missed one you couldn't make it up. I didn't mind the lectures and the reading too much, but the quizzes were hard sometimes. There is lots of reading in this class, so don't take him if you have trouble with that.

Hes a good teacher. I took him for EH201. Not much participation is required at all. Its mostly just him lecturing all class. Readings and quizzes every class. Summaries help, but most of the time its better to just read the story. TAKE NOTES! Tests come straight from notes and lectures. Overall, an easy class. Attendance and honesty are key.

His class is a little difficult because of the amount of essays he gives out, but he is genuinely so kind and caring. If you are having difficulties in his class, he will do all that he can to help! And, he gives bonus points for going to the Writing Center!! And he also gives chances to redo past work for a higher grade! Love him!

His 102 class is very interesting! Much like his 101 class, he is a tough grader, but he is clear and concise on what he is grading for. It isn’t to be against you, it is to show you how you can do better in the future! He is very sweet and very understanding and will do anything in his power to help you in his class!

Professor Bennett is very helpful when it comes to writing an essay. He ALWAYS sends you to the writing center and if you go he gives you 5 bonus points on your rough draft.

The oral Communications class was relatively easy. You write a speech or make a presentation to present to the class. He is an easy grader. I didn't find myself under a lot of pressure which is nice since I don't like to speak in front of many people. Don't overthink. And If you need to edit a video, DONT USE ADOBE (unless you already have it).

He is very old school type and new with computers, so give him time to calculate.

He does lectures so you need to be there to take notes. We have quizzes often, however, they are on canvas and are 5 points each. YOU NEED THE TEXTBOOK! The quizzes are about the readings he assigns you to read. He is funny and explains things very well. He will answer any questions you have. He always has a review day the class before the test.

Extremely nice teacher, a little scatterbrained. Class is mandatory, you get 10 unexcused absences. You don't really learn much in the lectures, but the speeches aren't hard, as long as you prepare for them. I would 100% take him again.

I have nothing but good things to comment about Mr. Bennett! He is very caring and works around students to help you succeed. Attendance is mandatory, and is part of your grade in the course. I only had to write 4 papers for the entire course. He also would let the class out 30 minutes early unless you required extra help.

He gives very good feedback but he could never give me a full 100 for anything I turned in. It feels like he would nit pick at every little thing to be able to deduct points.

He is the best choice for EH 203.

Listen in class, read some at home, and be prepared for the exams. Do those things and you pass. Good teacher, funny guy, and enjoyable class.

I really enjoyed his class! He assigns interesting topics to write about, and is very lenient/understanding with deadlines and attendance. Usually doesn't teach for the whole period and lets you have time in class to do work. He also gives a bunch of smaller and easier assignments to help boost your grade in between papers/reports. Super sweet dude
