Great, very sensitive to student's needs. Can be a little quick to answer questions without making sure he knows what is being asked. Other than that, he tries really hard and is a good guy.

Interesting class, he does his best to communicate information in a memorable way. Tests are pretty challenging, but not too bad and lectures are very informative.

his tests were pretty easy, some questions were a bit tricky. he allows a retake for each exam and if you get all the questions right on the second exam he will add 2 extra points onto your test score. i passed with a 4.0, just study the hand out he gives you...

Dr. Christensen has a way with words. He made Biopsych which is a subject that is fairly hard to learn the material for interesting and fun. He also is extremely approachable and is willing to help with whatever you need.

Don seems very helpful and really gives his students a second chance at test scores. He understands that a lot of people get test anxiety. I also really enjoyed how he laid out the daily notes and he utilized many videos and gave optional assignments to take the edge off tests. It's hard not to pass in Don's class! I'm going to be attending Research Methods in Psychology with him as the professor, and I can't wait to see him!

I had to take an incomplete due ti illness and he made sure I knew exactly when to come in to class to make up the missed lectures and tests. Deffinately one of the most interesting teachers shoreline has!

The class is pretty easy if you pay attention and apply yourself, and he is very knowledgeable in the field and willing to help anyone along. Don Christenson is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. He is very clear with what is expected and he is open to new ways of thinking along his own beliefs. He even stayed after class a few times to help with my little study group that I had!

Christensen is one of the best teachers at SCC! His lectures leave the students engaged almost 100% of the time, his expectations of the homework are really clear, the tests are all fair game, nothing too hard if you study enough. Don covers alot of material in a week, but is a great resource for help if you ask him. Totally recommended!

The Don kicks ass! He makes the lectures fun and engaging, and it's always worth coming to every class. He helps me out greatly on concepts I have difficulty grasping, willing to stay after class. I entered the psychology not knowing anything but I cam out with a very clear concept of things and I ended up wanting to majot in Psych. His lectures are very clear and his exams are not hard as long as you follow the study guide. Some people are just lazy students but as long as you attend all the lectures then his class shouldn't be too hard.

I take psych 100, 202, 205 and 209 with him.. he is very helpful so as long as you always come to class, listen to his lecture (which is v. interesting), do his assignments and read tb... I can guarantee you will get at least 3.7. even if you are a lazyass.. you will at least pass the class if you do some of the work..

I go to English class because I need to... I go to Math class because I need to... I go to psychology class because I WANT to. The quarter is coming to a close... I am going to miss him...

He gave loads of extra credits. Do not be fooled when the assignment or test is "optional", as these means extra credits. I did every optional stuff and my grades jerked up from 2.9 to 3.9. NO WAY you would fail his class. If you fail his class, you shouldn't take psychology. WAIT... IF YOU FAIL HIS CLASS, YOU SHOULDN'T BE IN COLLEGE!

That time when I registered for his class, I am actually on the waitlist. I am very lucky that he accepts overload and now I have a 3.6 in my grade.

Don makes the class worth every moment by telling personal stories related to the subject, displaying great enthusiasm for teaching rarely seen by other instructors. He's cool. Well organized, well-prepared and very clear teacher on his assignment expectation. He gives out extra credit, as long as you do you. you really won't fail it. it's not hard to get good grade from him because his lecture is interesting. He has podcast of every lecture, and study guide for every exam(except the final one). great tacher.

I had him for psych 100 as well a few years back and just finished taking psych 207. He is so amazing! Everything you could want in a professor. I'm not a psych major but he makes everything so entertaining and great that my two psych classes have been favorites. Awesome awesome awesome! Take every class you can from him! What an awesome teacher! His lectures always kept my interest, and he was very clear at delivering the information we needed to know. Homework was minimal, and the tests weren't difficult. I took this class because I needed a filler for full-time credits and didn't really expect much from it. However, Christensen presented all the material in a matter which the subject of psychology was made interesting. Can be funny at times. Tests were reasonable. Positive attitude and helpful in answering questions.

Christensen is a great teacher. He explains things very clearly and simply, I often feel like his class could be harder, although many students find his class challenging. He's got a great attitude in class and the students naturally reflect it back. His biopsych class is my favorite class I've ever taken and has inspired me to pursue neurobiology.

I agree that some of his classwork may not be rigorous enough for the more academically inclined students. I got a little bored doing the study guides, which basically just involved skimming the textbook. He records all his lectures so you don't have to worry about missing class. Super-insanely organized; everything is in outline format. Nice guy.

Attendence isn't mandatory, but it is helpful to attend otherwise you miss things that can make a difference in tests. Exams had study guides, which are really helpful for the tests, I enjoyed this class very much. i liked his approach and can't wait to take abonormal psych this summer.

He is a very good teacher.He loves a good psychological chat during class and pron to an occasional curse word for the fun of it.He is so helpful and very knowledgeable.Some times i must say its a bit dry only because some material is just "dry" There is lots of leeway to improve grade.

I took Biopsychology with him and it was absolutely fascinating. He has a good pace and is willing to answer any questions. He's lectures are also engaging and informative. You do have to read the text book to do well on his tests, but he puts study guides online. He is an amazing professor.

He is a fantastic teacher, he wants the best for his students and will take time out of his schedule to answer any and all questions. He never makes you feel stupid, and his lectures are all easy to follow (he even records them if you miss class). His exams can be difficult, but keep up with the readings and the lectures and you'll do just fine :)

Don is a great lecturer, he makes the course content easy to understand. His tests are tough (will include some nit-picky details that you will get wrong if you don't study) BUT the vast majority of what is on the test is gone over in class. There are not a lot of questions that require textbook knowledge that is not presented in lecture.

took biopsych. hands down one of my fav teachers. very difficult material but i loved it and spent bout 7 hrs per chapter doing through reading and notes, got a 115% in the class. you must put in effort and go to class. he gives lots of extra crdt, so take them. he wants to help and for u to learn. switched my major to neurobio from psych bc of him

Don displays his study guides and slides at the beginning of the quarter online, so you have ample amount of time to get ready for his tests; there are no surprises. My favorite quality about Don is that he is patient and willing to work with students after class to ensure they understand the content. Taking again!

Best teacher ever! Tests are neither easy nor difficult, but as long as you prepare ahead of time and memorize the study guides the teacher provides, there should be no problem! However, this is not a class for people that are lazy and want an easy 4.0. English might be a problem for international students since the teacher speaks quite fast.

This class was amazing! I didn't pass this class... but I enjoyed the lectures. The reason I didn't pass this class was because I took this class in summer quarter and I feel like everything was really rushed! I wish I never took this class in the Summer. But I would really recommend this class if you're taking it in Fall, Winter, or Spring.

What to say about Don C.. Biopsych is a breeze with him. Great lectures, very informative, tons of EC potential, lots of PP slides to review with. Great all around teacher. Class really isn't as hard others are making him out to be though. He's extremely clear on what you need to study and if something is wrong he quick to correct himself. HUMBLE.

I've taken three other classes with Don. All were amazing psychology classes. Don is the reason why I am a psychology major and is one of the reasons why I am in the psych program at a #11 ranked University. During my experience at university, no professor has beat Don's place, which is at #1. Best professor ever, and my idol!

Dr. C was one of my favorite professors I had this quarter. He made learning about synaptic clefts interesting. Dr. C really engages the class during his lectures. When explaining hard concepts, he makes connections that make the concept easy to understand. Also, he uses Panopto so if you do miss a class you can watch the lecture online.

He was a great teacher. His lectures were great, and he records every day and puts it online if you miss class, which is great. The homework is straightforward, but the tests are difficult, and the tests are a very large part of the grade.

If you really like psychology, you'd better to take his class. He is so enthusiastic and funny in the class. It is even better to read the textbook before the class so that you can understand deeply. Btw, the reading assignment is so much and you need to read about 8 chapters within a week, so you have to be ready to take his class.

He's honestly a great teacher he makes me want to study nothing but psychology. He provides a study guide for every exam, and very generous with information. He's funny and makes the lectures very interesting. I never wanted to miss any of his classes. The class itself needed a lot of reading though.

Don grades on a scale, but if you do the reading and make the effort you'll have no trouble passing the class. He's clear on what his expectations are, and he cares about his students. Encourages you to talk to him during class, and office hours if you're ever confused or unclear about something. He likes what hes doing and it shows!

Dr. C is fantastic, anything I have to say has already been said. However, do not let others fool you - his classes are hard. Know your limits and consider your other classes. I took his class on a 20 credit work load and it nearly killed me. Don't do that to yourself. I definitely recommend Dr. C, but know that his 200 level classes are heavy.

Don Christensen is a teacher whose courses I plan to take to fill out the requirements for my Psychology transfer degree. He's a great teacher, very easy to approach, very easy to talk to, and he makes sure that all of his material is extremely accessible. Professor Christensen have amazing lectures, however you have to listen to his lectures as most of his lectures will come out in the exams. His exams are tough but as long as you listen in class and study the guides, you'll do good.

Before taking Dr. Don Christensens Psyc 100 class, I was a music major. I am now a psychology major. I feel like that is enough to be said about his outstanding and inspiring teaching.

Tips: attend the lectures even though they aren't mandatory. Do all homework on time. You don't really need to read all the modules, only read the graphs, charts, and bolded words. USE THE STUDY GUIDE!! because 98% of the tests will be based off it. This class is only hard if you don't try and don't pay attention. Take through notes.

He was a great proffesor! Very intresting to listen to and was funny. There were lots of online quizzes to do, that as long as you planned it out right it wasnt hard. However, his tests were hard, so you really have to study. Very accomidating, will you outside of class and is very cooperative. Warning: had major tests every other week.

Don is a very good instructor and his lectures are awesome. His tests are also very reasonable because he provides very sheets which narrows down what you need to revise for them. I did not notice it and got bad grades for my first two tests but caught up later on. Easy A if I were more careful :)

I don't get A's and earned one in his class. The secret, he has exam reviews and uses those questions on his test. So, make and use flashcards and you too should earn an A! He's also a great guy.

Took him for summer, wouldn't recommend it if it's your first time because the material gets pushed together into 8 weeks and it goes by FAST. Definitely caring and easily accessible. Records lectures so you can pay attention in class and take notes later. LECTURES WERE MIND BLOWING BTW!! Best teacher by far, just do the work + do flashcards.

He's one of the best Psychology professors you've ever met. His way of teaching psychology will make you interested in psychology. Although the attendance isn't mandatory, but I think you'd waste your penny by skipping out his class and miss the hilarious, creative, and fun ways of teaching. P.s yup, a lot of reading and weekly assignments.

I have transferred to a University and he is still the best psych professor I've ever met. VERY INTERESTING& FUN LECTURES! he gave many personal stories and made jokes along the way. You will learn a lot :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE Don. I've taken 3 classes of his. No surprises, grading is straight forward. Take notes during lectures and study! Don made me realize my potential as a student, and as a person. He is one of the main reasons I've decided to go into the field of psychology. Thank you Don! Take his classes!!!

I love Christensen so much. He teaches so well in a clear and precise way and he really cares about his job and you can t ell he's very passionate. The class is easy if you do your work and read what's required. I would encourage anyone taking psychology to get into his class!

Covid Rating/Online: I've taken multiple classes with Dr. C, he DOES use honor lock for tests (records you taking exams) and no open notes. However, his expectations are clear and they aren't hard tests if you study smart. He also has review sessions and always responds quickly. Wish I could have him in person but he's great :)

He is a super chill teacher and teaches the topic very well.

Obviously understands the material, extremely helpful and approachable. It was by far my highest work load class due to the amount of reading and studying for the quizzes and tests. Might be different outside of covid-times, but I think his online class is work heavy. Great at explaining complex concepts.

Genuinely understands the material and excels at presenting it in a way that is easy to understand. He was very receptive to me repeatedly pestering him about problems I saw with the references and claims made in the textbook. I studied 36 hours for the final and still only got a C on it so it's work heavy but you learn a TON

This class had A LOT of reading each week. Success stems from how well you take notes. However, Dr. Christensen is incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fair. He grades exams and papers within a few days and is receptive to feedback. One of the most helpful and clear professors. His exam study guides and study sessions are really informative.

Good guy, super helpful, and very understanding. HEAVY and large tests and workload.

Dr C is a great teacher! His lectures are interesting and he is really passionate about what he teaches. He directly gives you worksheets for review and narrows it down for you on what you should study,. I would love to take another class with him in the future.

Even though his assignments are a lot, I learned so much new information from his class. His tests are quite easy if you learn and manage your time efficiently. He's a great teacher and I can see that he loves teaching. Definitely recommended!

Dr. Christensen is fair and caring. Is available if you need to talk things over and gives good feedback. Multiple daily quizzes but you can retake most of them. My main complaint is a required honorlock plugin only available in chrome that is required for exams. I learned a lot from this class and retained most of it.

There is a lot of reading & pretty fast paced. The exams are virtually proctored & cover a lot of what you read. In weekly discussions he responded to each student individually & gave more in-depth concepts or research studies related to what you wrote. He graded things overnight, even exams. He is very willing to help you. I LOVED Dr. C!!

This professor has an outrageous amount of coursework that he wants completed. There’s something almost every day. And not just small assignments, very time consuming assignments that are inconsiderate to other coursework or JOBS People may have. He expects you to read an entire chapter which is very large in just a couple of days.

I took 5 classes with Professor C, and he is the BEST. He provides video lectures to support you and help you understand the material. He is a very nice guy, that will help and respond emails asap. I really enjoyed all the classes I took with him. He does offer some extra credits in some of his classes.

If you take a class with Prof. Don, I can guarantee you won't regret it. His grading system is fair, he's always open to questions and clarifying anything you're confused by. He offers amazing study advice that helped me immensely in this class, he does Exam Review zoom calls before an exam, and his lectures are engaging and interesting. 10/10 WTA

An amazing professor. There are a lot of readings and only some of his classes have lectures (this one did not). Read everything that is assigned and take good notes. The exams are proctored and closed notes, so taking good notes and studying them is a crucial part of this class. He gives such great feedback on your discussion posts.

Dr. C is a great teacher! His lectures are very clear and he uses solid examples to explain challenging/abstract concepts. He responds quickly to emails and is very caring and understanding online. I had to study really hard in this class, but it helped me grow and gain more confidence in myself!

There are a lot of reading and quizzes and you need to spend a LOT of time on preparing each exam, which is very time consuming. The professor gives extra credits which is kind of good, since to get a 4.0 in this class is hard, cause the grading boundary is very high and it's hard to maintain upon that boundary.

I liked listening to his lectures, it's overall a fast-paced class with many things to remember. But there is lots of extra credit that will help if you are not doing well on the quizzes.

I really enjoyed having class with Prof. Christensen! He is incredibly kind and is responsive to students' emails. His test review sessions were helpful and he made sure to explain the material if we had any questions. The exams were a bit difficult but they covered a majority of the content so I recommend studying. Overall, I recommend him 100%!

I've taken three classes with Dr. Christensen and I would highly recommend him. Very fast with his responses to messages, it's very obvious he reads every paper and discussion board. Text books are expensive, but they come with a lot of quizzes that help with exams. His lectures have some audio issues, but they are useful.

Dr. Christensen is an amazing professor! As someone who struggles to focus with lectures, his were super engaging and interesting. He is very kind and charismatic, and its an easy class to pass as long as you stay on top of the online textbook assignments. Would totally take a class with him again.

Dr. Christensen is a very kind and understanding professor. If you have difficulties with the class material, he will work with you to find a solution because he wants everyone to succeed. Biopsychology is a challenging course because of the material, but Dr. Christensen does everything he can to make it a positive experience.

He is a great professor and explains his lectures very well. He's very engaging and asks a lot of questions, and tries to answer as many questions as possible that students may have. He does give a lot of assignments, readings, and quizzes, so be prepared for that because it can be overwhelming at times, but he is helpful when you need help.

I wholeheartedly enjoyed taking Dr. Christensen's Biopsych class! He was so patient with students and super understanding when it came to missing deadlines. I'm so grateful I chose to take his class last quarter (Fall 2024), even though it wasn't a pre-requisite or required class for my major. I 100% recommend taking any class that's taught by him.

I absolutely love Dr. C, he is so kind and very good at explaining concepts. he's really patient with students and understanding. He went to Stanford so you will get top grade knowledge which he incorporates in the modules. I would definitely recommend this class, the coursework is spread out to complete daily but it's not difficult at all.

Absolutely loved taking this class partially due to the material but primarily due to the professor! It is very clear he loves what he does and truly cares about his students. Wish I could have him for every class!

Dr. C was one of the best Prof I have had at Shoreline. He cares about all his students and gives amazing lectures! I love his teaching style. He really loves what he does and you can tell. He creates a delightful, safe and fun environment to learn. I would take his class again 100%!!

This is a really good class for any student to take if you want to improve yourself in the areas of performance (of anything!). He sends out articles for you to read and there is a lot of self reflection that is intended to help you improve and explains why you have certain mindsets and motivations. 2 exams and a final. Dr. C is really caring!

Dr. C is great and makes the material easy to understand. The syllabus/set up of the class is confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple. A lot of smaller assignments, so looks more overwhelming than is. DO THE REVIEW SHEETS - it'll help you SO much for the exams, don't forget to add the Learning Objective Questions!
