Dr. D is clearly a smart man who knows his stuff. He's always willing to help and explain something if you don't understand. I do have to caution against his testing style though, it makes me want to pull my hair out. His tests consist of lots of fill in the blank questions and problems you actually work through. Besides that you'll love him.

Dr.D (Dr. Conlee) always makes class entertaining, he's basically a stand up guy when he lectures. Explanations are pretty clear and if you have a question he is more than happy to help, even outside of class. You mostly work on computers for the lab, but you sometimes go outside to use equipment. If you can, take Dr.D.

Dr. Conlee is a pretty awesome teacher! I have always struggled taking tests so I had to read the book to help me understand. I didn't do very well on my first test and he was extremely encouraging and helpful. He is very approachable. His tests can be a tad tricky, but if you study hard and know the concepts you will do great!

Dr. D is a really cool guy. As long as you go to lecture the book is not needed. The class itself is basic laws of science and only is hard if you over think the concepts. Just go to class and it will be an easy B without studying.

Dr. Conlee is a super nice guy. He is very funny and that shows during his lectures. There are three tests plus a cumulative final exam. You would have to study for the tests. Sometimes they can be pretty specific and a little hard, but if you study hard you can pass this class with an A.

Dr. Conlee is an AWESOME professor. I would highly recommend him. He is funny and makes the content fun. The material itself isn't hard, but it isn't easy. The best professor I've had by far. Made my mornings, he also makes a lot of funny jokes. I would definitely take him again, and highly recommend you take him, you will NOT be disappointed.

Dr. D is such an amazing prof. He is funny and always jokes around. There is quite a bit of material. It is not the easiest but its not hard either. He takes attendance with the iclicker so attendance is kinda mandatory. Such an amazing guy, i would take him again!

He is a great professor! I enjoyed every moment of his class. That being said, this is not the easiest nor the hardest class I have ever taken. His lessons are straightforward and there are three tests, one final, and plenty of opportunity for bonus. Prepare for a challenge but also prepare to learn a lot that will stick with you for life.

He's very passionate about the material and super interesting. He really likes his students and his work and is super generous about extra credit.

Dr. Conlee is a great guy. He tries to make class entertaining and is really passionate about the weather. His tests aren't the easiest, but he does give a lot of extra credit to help you out. It does take him a while to get grades back and he doesn't post them to eCampus. You have to use your iclicker everyday for attendance.

Dr. D is one of the best profs I have had at A&M. He truly loves weather and is passionate about what he teaches. Tests can be difficult. This isn't the easiest life and physical science, but it also isn't the hardest. The final is basically old test questions, and he gave extra credit after every test. Be sure to go to class to get iClicker points

It is easy to tell that Dr. Conlee is passionate about weather and wants others to be just as excited. His lectures were fun and the material was engaging. His humorous approach to the class made it all the more enjoyable. Dr. Conlee wanted the students to succeed, so he provided a lot of bonus. A very personable prof. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Conlee was a very nice and respectful person. His class was medium difficulty usually because his tests had some trickier questions on it. Usually questions with some sort of ambiguity or fill in the blank that made sure you knew the subject. He was funny and his lectures weren't too bad. No need for the book, go to lecture and you'll make a B.

Dr. Conlee's class consists of 3 tests, a final, and clicker points. If you show up and pay attention it is an easy A. He is very accessible outside of class and answers questions during the lectures. He makes a lot of jokes and cares a lot about his students.

His class is difficult if you don't show up to class and pay attention but he offers plenty of extra credit and is a good lecturer.

He makes the class so interesting and takes time to know each of his students. The material could be hard but he does his best to explain it for everyone to understand. He is by far my favorite professor. But don't even think about not coming to lectures, your grade will be affected if you skip.

Conlee is a great professor, very lively and funny. Is intolerant of cheating, and did change our 3rd exam to fill in the blank because someone had been cheating off an old exam. Posts all his slides online, the tests are based entirely on lectures. Attendance/clicker questions make up 10% of grade. I loved this class, and would take it again.

Very funny prof, always made lectures fun. Tests were hard, but doable with preparation. Is very forgiving and gives out loads of extra credit. Go to class, pay attention, and study and you'll be fine.

Love Dr. D!! I was prepared to dread ATMO but I found myself actually wanting to go to class. He is so personable and humorous and always made class fun with all of his dad jokes. Gives out lots of extra credit opportunities (5-10 points for each exam) which bumped my B up to an A. Take him!!

Dr. Conlee is one of my favorite professors. He's very nice, very funny, and he really cares about what he teaches. His only drawback is he's not the best at explaining difficult concepts. He's always available in office hours though and there is help deks if you ever need it. He helped reinforce that I chose the right major.

Dr. Conlee is a super passionate prof who loves meteorology and is very knowledgeable it. If you are a meteorology major, you will likely have him at some point while you are at TAMU and will get to know him well. Tests can be difficult, but if you take the time to read the textbook and understand concepts, an A is very achievable.

I honestly really enjoyed this class. You will think it is hard IF you dont go to class and dont take notes. He offers extra credit on every test and actually cares about his students. He is a pretty funny guy and he knows his stuff. You do have to study for tests to make As so if you dont want to put the effort in consider taking another class.

Dr. D was a pretty chill professor. If you paid attention in class and put a little effort into studying for the exams, his class was relatively easy. He is really passionate about the weather and genuinely wants you to learn the material. If you are looking for an easy blowoff science elective to take, this is not the class.

Dr. Conlee is a great professor, you can tell that he loves what he does and knows what he is talking about. I was in the non-major class and I can assure you that Dr. D will make you work for the grade you want, however, if you study/go to class/office hours, you will do just fine. Be sure to read the textbook. Clicker questions and extra credit.

Prof. Conlee is my favorite prof I've ever had at TAMU if you are considering taking ATMO 201 for sure take him he's hilarious, super friendly, and gives out a chance for five points back on every exam. Class is an easy B but if you go to class and put in minimal effort you can get an A no problem!

For non majors, this class is not too hard. If you show up and pay attention to the lectures, then you'll do pretty well in the class. Dr. Conlee isn't the easiest of the atmo 201 professors, but his lectures are entertaining and his class is interesting.

This class is the first challenging class you'll take as a meteorology major. That being said, it is completely doable. The hardest part is just understanding some of the complex equations you'll need to learn, but Dr. Conlee really wants his students to succeed and he is very helpful in office hours. Just put in a little work and you'll be fine.

This class is really interesting and fun. It does take a little bit of work to maintain an A but that is expected in all university level classes. Dr. Conlee is very dynamic in his lectures and very open to questions. Reading the textbook is helpful in making A's on the tests. And don't be afraid to use office hours if you have any questions.

I find it funny that every time I see anything related to the weather on the news I realize just how much I have learned from this class. Don Conlee is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very well informed on the subject that he is teaching. Very fun and entertaining if you take interest in the subject. LOTS of Extra Credit!

ATMO 201 is an easy class, and Conlee is one of the easier professors. His tests aren't cakewalks, but if you attend lecture and take notes and dedicate 3-4 hours of studying, the A is basically guaranteed. Very interesting class, learn a lot of trivia and fascinating info. LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT, you can expect 5-10 points extra credit each midterm

ATMO201 with Dr. D was definitely one of my favorite classes. He made the lectures fun and was always entertaining. A very great science class.

Dr. D is one of the best professors Ive ever had! He is hilarious, kind, and such an informed teacher. This is a class that you will remember! He always makes the lectures interesting and offers SO. MUCH. EXTRA. CREDIT. You do have to attend class and study for the tests, but overall, hes a great professor and this is a great course to take.

So many extra credits, he is awesome but test heavy. I got 80s in all 3 exams but he gives minimum of 5 points to every exam.

He gives tons of extra credit and is very funny during lecture. Though, the class itself is harder than I had anticipated.

With a good amount of studying and listening in lectures, you will do fine in the class. Conlee is a great professor and cares about his students learning. He does offer extra credit on each test up to 5-8 points. There is a total of 3 exams and then the final. There is no other homework, just study lectures and textbook. Great professor and class.

Conlee is a great man who genuinely loves what he does and cares about his students. The class is an easy class, not a no work class. Read the textbook and listen in class, and you'll do fine on the tests. If you don't do either of those however, don't expect a good grade. Great class. Great Prof. Your grade reflects your effort.

Professor Conlee is a funny, caring professor. You should definitely come in for office hours if you're struggling! He will help you and guide you to make a good grade in his class! Don't be discouraged by the first exam grade because I was able to get an A even though I did poorly on it. He will have lots of extra credit opportunities!

Dr. Conlee's lessons are fun and interesting. He cares a lot about his student's grades. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities. You should definitely attend every single class as he takes participation points and his lectures literally parallel the content of the tests.

Dr. Conlee is great! I transferred, so with METR being a small department, the profs know who the new kids are. That being said, he took the time to get to know me, which I really appreciated and solidified my choice. He goes above and beyond. May irk you at times, but overall a solid choice. READ! YOUR! BOOK!!! Ask questions. Lots of extra credit!

Very funny & nice, but lectures can be boring. He just reads off of powerpoints, which is fine, but hard to stay focused. The only grades are tests & clicker questions. Tests are pretty straightforward - I never read the book/only studied his powerpoints and got B's on all of them. Not a hard class but whatever effort you put in is what you get out

Dr. D is by far one of the best professors I've ever had at TAMU. His grading is mostly based on 3 exams and the Final and they're fairly difficult so study. Apart from that, he's a very fun and caring professor. LOTS of extra credit opportunities for the exams and the final so take advantage of those. There is never any HW either. Take him!

Don is a wonderful, fun-loving professor. He cares about his students and will always offer great help. While his class was only graded by tests and clicker questions, the clicker questions were good checks for knowledge and he made sure people were okay before moving on. We've had many great conversations and he made the class VERY interesting.

Dr. Conlee is a great professor. He is passionate about atmo and teaching. He does lots of example problems in class and also has plenty extra credit opportunities. And hes pretty funny and makes the class interesting. Attend class and study, and an A is very achievable

He's very passionate about the subject material and cracks jokes here and there. He does his best to connect things with current events and make the class more interesting. Study the powerpoints, attend class(to complete the clicker questions), and complete any extra credit he provides and you can attain an A.

Really nice guy. VERY generous with extra credit(every exam has extra credit opportunities). This class is not a blow off. You really need to study to do well in the class, but as long as you study the power points and go to class an A is very achievable. Dr. Conlee really knows his stuff and is clearly passionate about the material.

Dr Conlee is super passionate. He gives plenty opportunites and resources to learn. To get an A, you just have to show up to class and pay attention, it really isn't that difficult of a class. He tries his best to make lectures enjoyable and help students actually learn. He also gives plenty of extra credit, but expect daily clicker questions.

I took it ATMO 202 with Conlee but our TA was Lidia C. She is incredible. I am horrible at labs but she made them so enjoyable and easy. She allows for feedback and corrections which is great and drops the lowest quiz grade (4 per semester).

As the other review said, he made use of the "writing intensive" tag and assures us it's half of what it used to be (those poor souls). Can (occasionally) come off as mean and project guidelines weren't always 100% clear. Sometimes doesn't respond to an email at all. Could have made an A, but that was my fault as I just didn't put in enough effort.

Dr. Conlee is a professor who makes the best of attempts to make class interesting. Essentially, his course is graded on two things; attendance and exams. If you attend the lectures, not only do you boost your grade, but you actually learn the material for the exam. The textbook is strongly encouraged, but you can make a B without it, or an A with.

Dr. D clearly has a passion for weather which makes him an enjoyable professor to take. I liked him as a person and respected him as an instructor, but I tend to struggle with doing well with this type of class, hence the B. I would have appreciated my grade being based on things other than just tests and participation, but extra credit is offered.

I enjoyed having Conlee as a professor. His lectures went along with his tests and there are extra credit opportunities. He makes funny comments during class and cares for his students. No homework, mostly iclicker questions and multiple-choice tests. Great class if you need science credits for computer science.

Great prof. Cared about his students. Attendance was not mandatory but made up 10% of your grade. Exams are straight forward and he gives lots of tips what to study for for the exam. Not a weather major but I found the material interesting and enjoyed the class. Exams can be long but he gives so many extra credit stuff it's almost criminal.

Overall, good class! Only grades are 4 exams and extra credit assignments, so study hard for every exam. He clearly cares about the material, and I enjoyed the class. Make sure you go to class because he does attendance iClickers! Not an easy A, so make sure you are doing the work and taking notes during lectures.

You have to come to class as much as possible because iClicker is 15% of the grade. The tests are very conceptual, so if you just memorize the material, you won't do well. A horrific creature not meant for the eyes of man nor the minds of the coldest caliber. Dr. Don Conlee is less a man and more a beast of unbounded energy and will, appearing at times least expected. His quizzes are easy and he outlines his expectations for tests and offers solutions to struggling students. Overall, 9/10.
