Best professor at USC. Helpfull and ensures everyone understands before moving on. Will do anything to help his students.

He works on the honor system a lot of the time. He is more than willing to help a student and make sure that everyone will pass. He will go beyond what is expected of a professor to help you, and he makes sure that you understand. Definately take him!

Great Guy and realy cool!

I have taken this course three times.Once with Harley and Kossowski, they both suck.He is the only one who actually teaches the material. if you don't get something just ask him and he will explain it until you get it. He is the best Math prof. at USC!

One of the easier math professors. Gives day quizzes almost every class, but they are very very similiar to the test questions, so they are a good thing. Takes attendance. He is really easy to work with, and is understanding. Take him.

He teaches well. He quizzes everyday. He doesn't require h/w but its required eventually if you want to do well in his class. Reason for 3 easiness is because you have to know everything more detailed than he teaches but can be learned through the hw.

This is the greatest professor I've ever had. He really cares about each student and out of a 220 person class, he still tries to learn names. He teaches really well and wants you to understand. The day quizzes are easy, and you grade them yourselves!

Very funny guy.He is willing to help you if you need and amazingly knows a lot of peoples names in a class of about 200.He gives day tests(quizzes) that is just a review of the homework.Your day test average counts as a test grade which brought my grade up alot.Take him hes awesome.

Okay I hate math....no matter what it is. Dr. Jordon is sooooo funny and its hard not to like his class. He doesnt try to be funny and that is the best part. He is a bit difficult to follow at times but if you do your part you will do fine. Straight forward class...doesnt try to complicate matters.

Very easy class. There are tests every day which all count as a test grade in the end. He is extrememly willing to help anyone who is interested. I got an A in the class with regular studying before tests.

Nice Guy but Hard Class. Attendance is a must because of day test, but avg becomes a test grade that for most brings up their grade. Tests are very hard. Daily Studying is essential. Dr. Jordan is funny in class and will help anyone who askes. With that said, i would advise that you avoid his class.

I am a complete idiot in math and I made a great grade in this class. I suggest anyone to take him if you are challenged in math. Gives quizes alot but they only help your grade tremendously, has a good curve too, many quizzes are dropped.

GREAT TEACHER! Teaches really fast so you have to keep up. If u don't show up for class, u won't make a good grade. Attendance taken, counts as a test grade. STUDY EVERYDAY, and you'll make an A.

This class is a lot of fun. Sit in the front row, make sure he knows your name, and attend all classes. Go see him after every test because my grade would sometime go up 20 points due to grading errors. I made an A in the class and a 97% on the exam by simply reading over the day tests. Get a TI83!

Dr. Jordan is a great teacher and he makes the material easy to learn. He teaches at a very fast pace so you must keep up. Tests are not that bad but you have to study and do the Day Quizes. Will help you with grades if you put forth the effort. Highly reccomend.

Great Teacher! Dr. Jordan teaches it his own way, which is very simple to understand. I only went to about 50% of the classes(missed a lot of day tests), which hurt my grade, but i still managed to get a B. I recommend him highly for any math class, he will help you any way he can! Make sure you talk to him after class sohe knows who you are.

You do need to go to class everyday but its calculus so you need to go anyway to understand. He gives multiple choice tests with 20questions, just study and go to class and you should get along fine. He is goofy, nice, but a good teacher.

so how about this class is a joke. jordan doesnt teach...AT ALL. if you havent had precal before, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS! the only reason i passed is because i had precal last year. hes also extremely unorganized.

He is a really nice guy. However, he moves quickly and it can be hard to keep up. Also, you take Daily Tests nearly every day. You only have three tests and the final, so you must do well on everything. You must attend class but homework doesn't matter.

SO FREAKIN EASY! there are "day tests" every day that bring your grade up SO much. if you dont pass this class then you are an idiot.

Jordan is a little quirky-kinda obsessed with the 10 Fundamental Functions (they're on every single test at least in 2/3 questions). If you do the hwk and pay attention in class you should do alright on the day tests. Takes attendance, quiz everyday, expects a lot. AWESOME CLASS! I would not take another teacher! There is a day test every day so you must go to class, but they are extremely easy!!! The tests are not hard at all, but they do cover all info of previous chapters. There is a SI study session for this class and I would use it before tests. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!

Really nice guy. If you have an A in the class after the first two tests and you choose to "tutor" you don't have to take the final. Really cares about his students and will make sure that you understand the material. He can go pretty quickly but this course is supposed to be a review of high school material and it definetely is. Dr. Jordan is pretty cool! What I really liked about him was that he REALLY respect his students and helps them. As long as you try you will do fine. Another thing is that if Dr. Jordan sees that you are trying he will go the extra mile for you. You can tell he really likes what he is doing.

All I can say about Dirty Don is "COPY!!!" If you take him, you'll understand. He's hilarious! The class was usually pretty boring except for his crazy outbursts, but you gotta love him. I had him for math 111 as well, and although I'm horrible at math, I did well enough to make a C in both classes. Just put in some effort and he won't disappoint.

He goes fast, so be careful. Day tests every day (All 20 equal 1 test grade). Tests are not too difficult, but make sure to study and do the homework. Very fair and will give partial credit. Not the easiest to understand during lectures, so make sure you read the book. Otherwise, great guy, pretty funny too. Take him if you can.

Most talented and most exciting math teacher I've ever had(and calculus is a pretty boring subject). It's important to him that his students actually understand the material and it shows. He has crazy outbursts in class and tends to draw funny cartoons on the overhead. He gives out extra credit ALL THE TIME for participation during lectures.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Jordan. What makes him unique is that he wants everyone to actually learn and do well in his class. You need to come to class because you take daily in class quizzes but they help you a ton. Def recommend if you don't like doing a ton of hw and you're like me and get most of your learning in class

Is willing to help you, and really wants his students to understand the material. The class is relatively easy, you just have to keep up with online quizes that are due each week. The quizes are 10 questions, so missing them drops your grade significantly.

Really good calc teacher. I almost failed calc in high school but he made it much easier to understand. You don't need the book for this class and you don't need to do the homework. He takes attendance by a sheet thats passed around so you could get away with not going but I suggest not missng class. I got a B+. Take him!

Day tests can be tough to score well but they aid you on the big tests. Jordan is a good teacher and I'd take him again.

BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!! Make sure you go to class and take decent notes. Also keep up with your day tests as well because they count as a test grade. He's really funny and makes class enjoyable. I would definitely recommend that you take him!

I'm not a math person, but I would take any class Dr. Jordan teaches just to have him as a professor. Not only is he extremely willing to help anyone, he knows his stuff and just fun to be around. Absolutely amazing professor.

I walked into class one day not having studied at all and made a A on one. Don't buy the book unless you think you'll need to work extra problems. I never used it. Take him! Hard professor to keep up with because he is so smart but makes class fun. Test arent hard if you study. Try you hardest on the day test and email him if you have any questions because the day test question and the same as on the test. Go to his office hours for help if needed; also a great opportunity to get extra points. HW is collected or graded

Jordan is a great and funny guy, but his intelligence level sometimes makes it difficult to keep up with him. He gives plenty of in-class opportunities for extra credit. Attendence isn't really mandatory if you have someone to check you in, he mosts all of his notes/lectures online. Homework was optional, very rarely did he ever collect anything.

Such a great guy! He really cares about every single one of his students. The class is kind of hard, but as long as you keep up with the day tests and go to SI, you should be fine!

Professor Jordan is amazing. If your having trouble in his class he is more than happy to give you help, in his office. Make sure you go to class, and at the begining of the semester pick out a seat where you want to sit for the whole semester because, there is assigned seating, and he does take attendence.

3 tests 1 final(cumulative) Have hw on blackboard (20 - are called day tests) and the average of them all at the end of semester is a 4th test grade. (they aren't that hard, can only take them once), attendance is mandatory, collects HW, but he will tell you if he is. He teaches well, but def recommend going to SI. Don't buy the book!! Take him!!!

Do not take him. Is really hard to follow and calls on people to answer during class. Assumes students already know how to do things. The day test take a lot of time if you don't know what you're doing. Really personable guy and is willing to help his students.

I'm glad I made myself sign up for an 8am so that I could have Dr. Jordan! As someone who always struggled a bit in math, I was dreading this class but actually felt like I knew and really understood what was going on the whole time. Such a cute and friendly little man too! He really wants to know everyone.

I am terrible at math, I couldn't pass algebra in high school. Dr. Jordan was by far the best and most creative math teacher I have ever had! He is willing to bend over backwards to help his students succeed. Put in a decent effort into this class and he will not let you fail! I came out with a B! TAKE HIM!!!!

Dr. Jordan is really helpful and the class isn't too hard. Do the homework, which is like 4 assignments the whole semester and do well on the online quizzes because he will bring your grade up at the end of semester if you did them. I absolutely love professor Jordan. He was extremely helpful and the class wasn't bad at all. There are three tests, 20 day tests (which are open book/notes & online) and he grades for attendance. He is willing to do whatever it takes to help you pass, I would recommend him to anyone, even those who hate math!

His lectures can be hard to follow at times, but he is extremely helpful. Ask questions and he will answer clearly. Participate in class and he will hand out extra credit points like they are candy. Best way to get an A is attend class and do your hw.

Great professor, takes time to really get to know his students an make that you understand get happening everyday. He does TONS of extra credit opportunities, not that you'd need it. Tests are 20 questions and are usually verbatim from his Day Tests (more like quizzes) on Blackboard. There's no reason you shouldn't pass if you go to class.

Dr. Jordan is such a sweet and sincere professor. He only has one class and knows all 100+ students names. Going to office hours is helpful and it is apparent that he cares about each individual student by asking about your life and truly caring, which is rare at a large university. Day tests can be reset if you mess up, so don't worry!

Dr. Jordan is a great professor and will bump your grade up if you are on the brink of a letter grade. Gives a study guide before each exam that is very similar to the actual test. Go to his office hours and he will help you out with your grade as much as he can.

Dr. Jordan is by far the best math professor I have had. As he says "This is a friendly calculus class". I worked hard for my C+ but that's because I haven't taken math in 10 years. He will work with you. He seems to have identified the failure points most people run into and makes sure it's covered in lectures and in emails. HIGHLY SUGGEST.

Best math professor at USC. Very easy to meet with and truly cares about your grades. Doesn't do online homework so purchasing an expensive textbook isn't necessary. Lectures are very different and he teaches at a very slow pace which makes it easy to learn. Overall a nice guy who loves to teach!

By far the best prof i have ever had. Really loves calc and want you to love it as much as you can too. Every lecture is started with "this isnt your ordinary calculus class... this is your FRIENDLY calculus class" He truly wants the best for all of this students. Don Jordan is easily the best math teacher I have had to date. He explains the material well and shows you how and why you need to know it. He makes math make sense for those who aren't good at math. I would recommend him to anybody and am looking for other classes I can take with him.

this man is the absolute best math instructor at this university. If you are not a math person // struggled with it before THIS professor is the one for you. He wants you to pass and will do whatever it takes to make sure and help you get the best grade possible. He gives out extra credit points if you speak up in class/ if you participate.

Dr. J is an amazing professor. He wants all of his students to succeed, he is always available after class to answer questions. If you make below a 70 on a test he allows you to make corrections to make up to an 85. If you are terrible at math like I am this is the teacher you need to take.

BEST TEACHER EVER. Seriously, if youre as bad at math as I am, you will appreciate him! He truly cares and I learned so much in this class. I was dreading this course, but this is the first math course that I actually learned and retained the material in.

Dr. Jordan is a fine and fair professor. Don't show up expecting to get an A, but he definitely does everything he can to make sure that those who work hard can get an A. Sometimes will change office hours from what they are on the syllabus but emails in advance if that is the case. Definitely would recommend.

Don Jordan is a very sweet professor. He had 3 tests and a couple hw assignments. Got two 85's and one 95 on his test. Failed his final exam and finished at first with a C then he bumped it up to a B. He is a very caring professor, although his lectures can get a little unorganized and confusing sometimes. 9/10

Phenomenal math professor. He really cares about students showing up and loves participation, so if you have good attendance and he can see you have put forth effort to the course you shouldn't have a problem making the grade you want. I am not a math major but did well in the class. Homework is optional, and the tests follow the study guides.

Funny guy, always keeps the lecture interesting. He reviews at the beginning of every class and always comes in saying "This is not your ordinary math class, this is your friendly math class" The only thing I did not really like about him is that you have to get used to the way he teaches, it is a little unorganized. Take neat notes and go to SI!

He is amazing!! If you are pretty good at math, I would recommend taking him. He gives extra credit. Buy an older version of the textbook, and save yourself money because he tends to use the older one. He gives a practice exam. Dr. Jordan was an awesome professor. He really does take time to learn his students and will go the extra mile if-need-be. The lectures in this class are thorough but in some ways, unoriganized. If you miss a day or two of class, and pick up on math well, the textbook does a good job of keeping pace with the class and how he teaches.

I failed this class the 1st time around, and retook it with Dr. Jordan and couldn't be happier. He is insanely sweet and cares about student success. He rounds you up by about 10% on test corrections just by going to discuss it with him. He makes calc simplified and easy to understand.

I've never been someone who enjoys math and it definitely does not come easily. With that being said, I looked forward to MATH122 with Dr. Jordan, even at 8:30a. Make an effort to get to know him and he will do the same t when it comes to your grades. His office hours are basically tutoring sessions and he will give you back missed points on exams

Sweetest old man ever. He is not the best at teaching and can be disorganized with notes in class. The material can get confusing, but he won't let you fail the class. He gave me points back on tests even though I got the questions wrong and gave me an A in the class even though I didn't deserve it.

Professor Jordan is great! his lectures at first are a bit hard to follow, but you will get the hang of it. He is happy to help with any problem just make the effort to see him. His tests follow the review pretty closely. Follow the review and attend SI and the tests should be a breeze.

His way of teaching math as a language and methods of explaining complex calculus theories and examples are designed for everyone to able to not only understand, but actually learn the material.
