always willing to clarify. Very knowledgeable. However tests are very difficult, but he curves the grades. He is very leniant on the written assignments. Laid back and funny. He's a good teacher, but the course is difficult.

Difficult front loaded class, lots of material, be prepared to go through 500+ pages of text (whole book) during the semester. You HAVE to stay ahead in this class.

He's a great professor who let's students know what's expected of them. While the class is very difficult, he does well to make sure students have the tools to pass the course.

it's not guaranteed you would get a "whole letter grade bumped up" if you go to every class. depends on the attendance of others since the grading is on a bell curve. whoever said that should of failed accounting.

If you have to take Acct 305 this is the professor you want. It doesn't matter what grade you get on the test just how you did in comparison with other students. If you can beat half the class your on easy street.

Mr Kovacic is a hard teacher but he is fair. Be prepared for class because you will get called on, but this just helps you learn. Accounting is not easy stuff, but I enjoyed his class overall and felt I learned alot.

Professor Kovacic is one of the most intellegent people I have ever met. His knowledge can be overwhelming at times but if you apply yourself and learn the material his expertise will give you an in depth understandig of accounting. I do not reccomend his class to lazy students.

Don is a great teacher. I was the student that would go to the board and have no idea, and I depised him, but I learned a lot, and got a B+ in the class. He is a lawyer/pilot/accountant/father/husband/etc/etc, so its interresting!

This is one strange dude. He thinks of himself as the "gatekeeper of accounting". If you do not like swallowing your pride now and then, do not take him. However, he is fair and will work with you in passing his class. If you have to take him, just STICK IT OUT and show up for class.

One of the most interesting professors on campus. He's willing to help you if you ask. Accounting is not easy. Be prepared to answer questions because he picks at random. I hope to take him again in another class.

This is a hard subject!! He requires that you think, and WILL NOT just give you the answers. Because of him my other Acct classes seem easy. He's entertaining......in a qwirky kind of way, and Pamela Anderson doesn't even compare to the curves this class has. Stink it out and you'll be glad.

Kovacic is a great teacher but don't expect to get an easy grade. He will work you hard and anything worth working hard for, is worth it right? Do your homework because otherwise you will be completely lost in class. Check the website that the authors of the book have because they have sample quizzes that help a lot.

This is a very hard class no matter who is teaching it. Mr. Kovacic absolutely knows what information is needed once you are actually an accountant. His test are hard but he grades on a curve so don't be freaked out about them. Read the chapter before class, do the Problem Solving guide and homework. It takes time but it is necessary.

This is a tough class, people like to blame Kovacic cause the class is hard..you all need to shut up frealz. Suck it up and learn your accounting. Work/Study hard and with his big curves you will do fine. I got over 100% on every exam. ANYONE can do the same. Kovacic is the smartest guy I know and he can help you with anything.

This class requires a lot of time commitment. You learn the same things in this class as you do in every other finance class, but it gets more complicated when dealing with foreign currencies. Kovacic is very sharp and demands that you are prepared to learn. Underrated professor. Take him and you will be happy.

Make sure to follow the prompt in the syllabus for the paper - and get an early start. Don't forget the Executive summary with some crucial numbers. Tests are from textbook's test bank, so they can be difficult, but pay attention to the questions given in class on the projector. A fair class, but only expect to learn the basics...

This class is not easy, so you need to prepare well for each class. You shouldnt miss any class, otherwise you would be behind. But he is a very nice, and helpful men. He is kinda busy, but welcomes your questions.

He is a very fun guy to have as a professor. He is very intelligent and expects the same from his students who are brought to the front of class to teach concepts. The exams reflect the material in the homework. The hardest part of this class is not really the concepts, but more of the work load. Just stay on top of things and you will do fine :)

Kovacic is witty and inquisitive...pay attention or pay the price. The material is understandable. The exams are very passable.

Kovacic is hated by everyone, but i thought that if you really read the book and pay attention and do the extra credit offered he is understanding and nice. be on your toes in class he has no problem calling on you at any moment. i liked the class and got an A..(BIG curves, like 30%)

I belive the only people that complain about this prof are looking for the easy grade. Put in the effort, read the book, and get rewarded. I stress you to keep your head in the books for this class. all tests are based off of the reading. Spread sheets are threatening but he's willing to help.

If you don't like public speaking you're taking the wrong class. If you don't mind looking like an idiot in front of others and dry humor doesn't bother you than you'll probably enjoy his class. I personally liked his class & would take him again. Do the xtra credit! Ask questions if you don't understand (but be prepared to be picked on!)

Great Teacher but very hard. He expects you to read the chapters before you go over them in class so he can focus on what you don't understand. Keeps going over concepts until everyone understands and will often call people up to work out problems. He treats his students like adults and expects them to use their brains. Don't take if you are lazy.

Weird sense of humor. But I must say that I did enjoy this class. I already knew Excel, Peach Tree and Access coming into this class. So this made life a lot easier. I felt bad for some the students that were completely lost. This class is tons of work. The final was the hardest part of the class; questions came from left field and I had no idea!!

Kovacic is best option at CSUSM period. He opens text and goes over section by section. Come prepared and ready to be involved. Tests are CPA adapted questions from text. Need to understand, not regurgitate for exams. 301 is also designed to be a crossroads class to separate not-so-serious students. Kovacic has tons of real-world exp. for students

He is very educated, but is a difficult teacher,however, you WILL pass your final if you go to class, study, and do the work. DO YOUR HW! Especially in the beginning of the semester (it'll affect your grade), and do it so study for the tests! Difficult class, but he's a good teacher, and ask him if you don't understand a concept. Don't wear a hat!

Great teacher. Actually cares about the students which is hard to come by at CSUSM. He knows his stuff, and he teaches you how to apply accounting to real life situations. I learned a lot. Know the vocab words in textbook for tests. Don't leave anything blank on the final! If I had to take another class I would want this teacher.

This is a HARD class. However, Dr. Kovacic's approach, with emphasis on the projects instead of the Romney book, made the class 100% enjoyable and you will really learn a lot. I took the class before with a different teacher and did not pass. But in Dr. Kovacic's class you will be engaged. His teaching style is different, yet extremely effective.

I have taken him for two different classes and will take him again for a third. Great teacher! His class are extremely difficult but you WILL learn the subject material. He is very helpful and will help you anyway he can. He makes the class lectures very enjoyable as well.

Nice guy and shows interest in the subject. However he does not give you enough time to really read and look over your exam while exams are counted huge towards his class. The class is more difficult when you learn from students who do not know what they are doing. Do not take his class if you are a slow test taker and need an instructor to teach.

Professor Kovacic is a hard teacher but he will help you if you have questions. The tests are curved as well as the entire class after the final exam. If you try, you can pass. He's not horrible, just expects you to understand.

Great professor. Truly cares about teaching accounting but also understands that not everybody needs this class. He is very prompt and may bless you with his real world stories. I feel like most of the bad reviews are from students who didn't read the textbook. If you like to be spoon fed, then he's not the professor for you. As long as you read and go to class, you'll pass. If you don't read, you won't know what is going on in class. He's a really nice guy. Go to his office hours! He's VERY helpful and willing to help!

If you want to learn how to be an accountant, this is your man. Act like an adult, be a manwoman, show up, be interested in your major. You will be walking up to the board & solving the problem. You're always fair game. IMO that's how it should be. I walked in late and was instantly handed a dry-erase marker. I worked hard & passed w 109%.

Don is a very real world Professor. He comes off very stubborn but after taking him for 2 semesters now I find him hilarious. Most students seem to not enjoy the way he teaches his class but it truly is for the best and really does help you learn. Hats, hoods and yawning.

Hard class that's for sure. 4 exams including final. Going to class is a grade, so go. Online homework helps with exams a ton. Huge excel project and paper. He isn't that clear on what he wants on them so make sure you do them way ahead of time. Hard class, not easy. Really good professor though.

Kovacic is an interesting professor, as a business major I was never bored in his class. He's very knowledgeable and his teaching style worked for me. His class was really easy due to the curve. I never even read the book and I received an A. The excel project took a few hours but it was just busy work. I would take him again.

I think Don is a great professor. He comes into class with a smile on his face everytime and it puts me in a good mood. Accounting is a hard class but Don teaches it in such a way that it makes sense. He cares about his students. I took this class with a different prof and Don's way of teaching was a lot easier to understand. I recommend him

Kovacic. Is. Amazing. I highly recommend him. He cares about his students and will stop his lecture to make sure anyone confused gets caught up. He keeps you accountable and expects high class participation. His exams are difficult but that can be expected because of the course material. His lectures clarify everything. Just ask him for help.

He can not make accounting any easier... He curves the tests where other professors on campus don't. Tests are hard though so he makes your life easier. He is a really cool guy who teaches one of the more harder subjects in business, but if you do the homework and do a fair amount of serious studying you will pass the class. Go to every class because he takes roll and if you have any trouble make sure you ask for help because he really does want to help his students out.

Professor Kovacic is hands down the most wise educator I have encountered in my college career. He understands that accounting is hard and he wants to give his class the necessary tools to succeed. Three papers to knock out at the start the semester. Then weekly online homework which is not a huge deal. He helps prepare you for exams.

The class itself was pretty challenging but everything was curved so that makes it a little better. Kovacic was a fun guy he always took in an interest in making sure we all understood the concepts. You have to work for your grade in the class and everyone participates. PSA: I wore a hoodie everyday all semester and it was fine :)

Kovacic is an expert in accounting. Although the actual material is very difficult, it's nothing a lot of studying can't help. He does his best to make accounting fun and he curves his tests. The material isn't going to get any easier, but teachers like him, make it fun.
