he is a nice teacher, he explains very well until you understand.
Excellent instructor, very helpful and seems to love teaching.
Great teacher, he is precise, and clear; also i think he's Kurt Browning's twin
Great guy, what a motivating person !
Great teacher. Enthusiastic and helpful.
This Teacher is Awsome, and he sounds like Jerry Seinfeld

Hands down... the best teacher I've ever had. very enthusiastic
Great guy! Awesome teacher who is available in his office hours a lot and is willing to help. Clear and concise.
Easily the best teacher out there. As long as you attend class, review his notes and go see him if you are confused, you will do well. He is great at taking hard topics and making them easy to understand.
best teacher out there, love him, highly recommended
totally awesome guy, fair with marking, easy-going, super nice, and really cares about his students
he was one of the best teachers I have had to date. Too bad I only took his class because it was a requirement for my degree...
super, super, super!!!!!!!!!!! he is just awesome...kwantlen may have an other instructor like him, but i doubt it......he is just a great teacher...makes u to love economics....always available in office hours....
Couldn't have done it without him!
VERY FAIR!...EXPLAINS EVERYTHING WELL...BEST TEACHER EVER!!
Good teacher. This class can be very confusing though. He is very helpful and proabably the best teacher around.
great guy, great teacher, great help
Very fair marker. Class was very interesting, and he has a knack for teaching. Can break down and make the toughest concepts very easy to understand.
This is the very best teacher I have ever had. Econ intimadated me but he made it so easy to understand. Reccommended to everyone.
Had him for Econ 1101 and Econ 1250. One of the best teachers who actually makes sense of what you are learning. Little homework and the best exams.
Economics was a breeze
amazing teacher! makes sense of anything and makes econ interesting or at least understandable. best instructor i have ever had.
Explains everything clearly and hardly ever assigns homework
Probably the most clear and helpful teacher I have ever had.
I agree... VERY FAIR MARKER. Awesome guy
He's a great teacher, the classes are interesting and I've had a blast.
His passion for economics has but no choice but to wear off on you. He is so skilled and loves what he does. Don is the only answer to Economics, if you want to learn and understand.
very passionate, and helpful, keeps class interesting, which is amazing feat for economics!Best teacher i have had!
Very helpful. Uses lots of real life examples. Always available for extra help.
The best teacher ive had, very helpful and explains everything very well!
He is the best instructor i have ever had. He is very nice and clear. I had lots of fun in his class. I strongly suggest anyone who REALLY wants to learn Economics take with him
Hands down the best prof I have had in six semesters at Kwantlen. Take his classes!
I have taken 3 classes with him and he is by far the best teacher I have ever had. He explains things clearly and emphasizes how important the students questions are. He just makes economics seem 'easy' because of his amazing ability to teach.
They most helpful guy you will meet at kwantlen. The only choice for Economics!
Ron Rocks! YOU ROCK RON!! ROCK ON RONALD!! ROCK RON ROCK!!!!!
The greatest teacher I've ever had. He is interesting to listen to, funny, and his tests and assignments are fair. I wish all teachers had his enthusiasm and skill. He is a rare individual. Take his class even if you don't like economics.
very clear, he knows his stuff, but he gets really excitable he won't hesitate to tell you that you're wrong, with a big "NO!" but overall, pretty good teacher
Awesome teacher! I don't even like economics, and he somehow makes it fun!
hes the man
You will enjoy economic if you take his class. He is the best teacher I have never had. He is very helpful and friendly. very...........awesome!
Don is without question the best professor or teacher that I have ever had.
in the top 5 profs @ kwantlen, he's clear, concise and knows his stuff, he has everything laid out clearly in his student packages and will always take questions
Awsome teacher. i had no intrest brfor takin his class...he makes class fun with his stories! Ron knows his stuff!!! Take his class...hes the best teacher ive ever had
Awesome teacher. Lectures are very interesting, tests and assignments are fair. He'll help you out always. If you take a class with him you'll learn lots and enjoy it.
He is definitey the best teacher I have ever had. So organised, so interesting, and will always help outside of class too. Also he will listen to your reasoning for your answers instead of just marking it right or wrong. SO GOOD!!!!
Great guy, great teacher. I highly recommend Don to any student.
he is an awsome teacher. i wish i could have had him for my econ 1150, but cuz he is a great teacher his class was full withing 2 weeks.how sad! he is one of the best teacher i have ever had.
Don is a great teacher, and you will enjoy his classes.
Great economics teacher, if a little inflexible with students and their schedules. Knows how to teach in such a way that understanding the concepts becomes second nature. I recommend this professor.
don is a great teacher makes u wanna wake up and listen to 8 am lectures, he is all about extra help if u need it outside of class and his tests adn assignments are clear, fair, and pretty easy..hes hilarious and a teacher who loves to teach!!!!!u'll enjoy economics with him
good teacher, makes economics a interesting class. Very clear on explaining things. Just know your stuff, and your pull off at easy "A"
If you are taking any econ at kwantlen take it with Don. A great teacher who knows what hes talking about and will make sure you succeed if you are willing to make an effort. Stong reccomendation!
one of the best profs I have ever had; he's clear, knowledgable, and excited about what he does
Excellent teacher, his passion for his job comes through in his ability to clearly explain concepts and readily answer any questions. His goal is to teach, not to lecture and makes class exciting.
Great teacher, he's very helpful. He's able to involve the class without burdening anyone with questions they don't know the answers to. He has very neat note too, easy to follow, and good for studying.
he is the best teacher at kwantlen!
This course is very well laid out, Don does a great job of explaining everything and makes things very clear. If you can't fit an in class version into your schedule I definately recommend the on line class.
don is an excellent prof. he shows a love for what he teaches. he cares about the people who he teaches. he is just an overall great guy. his exams are fair. his assignments can be a bit sketchy. but, without a doubt, i recommend don if youre considering taking economics.
Very good prof, midterms are very easy, same as homework, but you have to study. Taken him online, so it was pretty hard to find time to study, had to drop the course, but will be taking him again.
You will come out of his Economics class feeling mentally stimulated everytime. He is very friendly and smart, conveying the notes right from the top of his head - showing his immense knowledge and passion for the subject. Further, his Student Packages are extremely helpful for students.
Awesome teacher...really knows how to explain concepts...very possible to get an "A"...but you gotta work for it!
Awesome teacher. Even if you are not interested in economics, you will love it by the end!
TAKE THIS TEACHER if you want a good class. he is the best ever. NO complaints on my side, not a hard marker some work but not a ton excelent at explaining hard concepts keeps you interested. he knows his stuff inside and out and if you have any questions he has great office hours and is so willing to help. just an all around great teacher
Excellent teacher, Makes the class intresting and knowledgable. Classes are difficult but reddick makes them easy as possible. Use his online section for help, then youll do good in his class
Don is amazing, really funny and very smart. He loves economics and will try to convince you that you do as well. This class is really very interesting, and is an easy A if you put in any study time.
Don is pretty fair, although sometimes he says things like: the answer is in the book. I think he enjoys making people feel dumb and sometimes will mark assignments and tests hard. He seems to pick the harder questions in the book for assignments/tests. Most teachers will focus on the easier questions for an intro course. Hard class to take online
Don is simply the best professor I have ever had.
Excellent teacher, good one on one help if you need it, makes classes interesting, genuine nice person, if you have to take economics take it with Don
i took mirco and marco with the guy, he's a good teacher and knows what he is teaching. All you got to do is go to class and take notes and your set.
hes good
EVER ONE can get a good grade, just do all the assignments.
Don is a good teacher and enjoys economics. He's helpfull and tests are based on his notes. However, I wouldn't say that it was an easy class. It's not a slacker class. You have to study as it can be challenging. Weekly assignments on chapters.
Don is an excellent teacher. I took him online and his notes simplified a potentially difficult course. He is open to suggestions and his feedback is excellent if you ask for it. As it is an online class, you obviously can't slack off and expect a good mark, but if you work hard, you will do well. I got an A- but the class avg. was around a C.
Don is a good guy and helpful but his classes are tough. I found the class too difficult for a intro macro course.
Great
before this class, i hated economics because of how lance shandler taught it. but WOW, Don is AWESOME made everything clear and very interesting i got an A without having to open the textbook much his notes are the best his tests are quite nice and hes a very intelligent guy. take him for every econ course you can!
Great teacher! Does a great job of explaining a very hard concept, especially for those not used to this type of thinking. Highly Recommended.
Great teacher! Does a great job of explaining a hard concept. Very helpful and available. Highly recommended!
really good teacher-- would recommenmd to everyone
Great teacher, would recomend him to anyone. Fair marker, will help you understand. Use his office hours are important if you dont understand something. Know your learning objectives for each chapter is very important for the midterms. Can work in groups for your assignments and put more than one students name on a paper.
Easily one of the best, if not THE best teacher Kwantlen has to offer.
hard marker and impossible to get a decent grade for an introductory econ course! Avoid at all cost people!!!
Take his class online, 2 10-mark assignments a week and 2 in-class midterms. Good class for busy people who need credits. He's very helpful, as well. My mark was a C/B, study what he tells you to study and you'll pass just fine.
I took his classes in 1996 and 1997 - and wow, if I had to take economics again I wouldn't have any other teacher! I was actually quite sad to not have him as a teacher again. But we discussed economics together in his office after that, and am proud to call him a friend. Great human being as well as teacher.
The professor is helpful, however, the workload is quite difficult and he is a rather hard marker. For online course, expect 2 assignments due every week, 2 midterms and a final. I found his tests to be very hard.
He is THE BEST teacher, explains things very well. Just attend all his classes, because his lactures are very important and you will do well.
His online course is difficult. I suggest only taking it if you had only the 1 class for the semester otherwise the work load would be much too great. His notes are confusing so I suggest using the text book. His exams are HARD! At all costs, try taking him or another prof in an actual class room based course, NOT ONLINE.
He is one fantastic teacher! Even though he will "call you out" don't be nervous. Don's teaching style makes the class very fun and interactive. He won't recite from the text, use powerpoint or an over head projector. I took ECON 1150 and there is A LOT OF WORK, but it's still manageable. Highly recommended
by far, one of the best profs at Kwantlen. Passionate about the course, and really wants his students to succeed. He really loves his job and it shows... thus making the course much more enjoyable. If you have difficulty keeping up, meet with him after class hours and he will help. In fact, he encourages it. BEST PROF AT KWANTLEN!!
Heard on the website he was a good prof. He so far has been brutal. His assignment questions for his online course are impossible to figure out from the textbook and his exams are ridiculously hard. I've put in 3 times as many hours into his class as I have others and I'm still doing terrible. AWFUL professor, brutal course.
Agree about online class. He honestly sucks at teaching online. If you ask a question about how to figure something out, he just refers you to a page in the text book or his notes. Doesn't explain how to get it just tells u the obvious.DON'T TAKE HIS ONLINE COARSE
Online classes may be hard for some students, but it is your choice. If you couldn't handle it, just go to regular class. He is a wonderful teacher, however if you can't be in class, what can he do? Economics is complicated. It can't be explained in a few simple sentences, that's why he asks you to read the notes. After all you get what you pay for.
one of the most helpful, interesting, and smart teachers i have ever had. I took don for both 1150 and 1250 and i would go out of my way to take a class with him again!
A lot of people complain about the online class, and it is hard, but that is to be expected from this course material. Overall, it went well - he is a great teacher in class but his content (which is larger than most Econ classes), is hard for online. Will take again, in-class. Tests are short/long answer but fair. Great teacher, learned a lot.
I took his online course and his exams were very easy. Just do his moodle assignments and u will do great in the midterms and finals. Also do his sample midterms and sample finals exam. All the questions are from the sample tests.
He's a great teacher, he knows his stuff incredibly well. Make sure to read the textbook, there's reading quizzes (very easy), and assignments due for each chapter. He's very approachable and very helpful. Definitely recommend him.
Hands down, best prof at Kwantlen. VERY knowledgeable man; memorizes all the homework questions so he never has to fumble with any notes, EVER. easy quizzes and moderate homework. The work is challenging but study hard and it pays off. clarifies any questions and is very accessible. Do yourself a favor and take all your econ classes with him :)
Don's a good guy that teaches the material and is as helpful as you want. He's not easy but he tries to get you every mark he can and he's fair
Best prof. I have had so far at kwantlen. Very helpful. Thanks Don! He really cares.
He's a very fair teacher. The class is not easy, but it is not too hard. It's essential that you grasp the concepts as they are all interconnected. I would recommend his class.
Great teacher! Very clear on material and helpful
Don is a great, patient, helpful and supportive professor his notes are clear and much better than the textbook explanations. The course itself is challenging, I mean this is my second time taking it. But, it all comes down to whether or not you're willing to devote yourself to your studies. Practice and study hard and you'll be successful.
Tests are hard, but he is there for help if you are willing to ask for it. There is lots of reading to be done, but the student packages really help to provide better understanding. Text is a must have, as you will need the access code to do part of the assignments.
Weekly assignments and participation. Tests are very fair. He tells you what will be on them and lets you pick 3 of 4 questions. The material is very difficult so be prepared to study. He's nice and approachable.
good teacher, knows what hes talking about. makes it easy to learn despite being an online course.
Probably one of the best profs I've ever taken in University. He genuinely seems to understand students and loves the subject he speaks of. Studying is a must, but once you do, his tests are fairly straight forward. I wish he taught all my classes. And last but not least his personality is gold.
Very helpful! My first online class. All assignments & quizzes were helpful & similar questions were on the midterms & final. There is a work load, two assignments a week, two midterms, & the final. His notes are really helpful as well. Do your readings & assignments, you'll pass easy. He adjusts grades to help you pass! Take him!!
Great professor, you can tell he's refined the course over the years with student feedback. Everything I could have wanted he already had in note document or powerpoint so things are quite easy in that sense.
Great prof. He has office hours that he encourages you to use and he really does help if you use them. The class itself isn't overwhelming in course work. There is one written assignment and one online assignment per week ( they take about 20 minutes to complete each) and then 2 midterms and a final. Really enjoyed it. 10/10 would reccommend
I've taken both micro and macro with don now and he's the best prof i've had at kwantlen. his lectures are very thorough and he provides chapter notes with learning objectives and the learning objectives are exactly what are on his exams. Homework is every week, worth a small % but it definitely helps when it comes to the exam.
He is clear, concise, provides helpful feedback, knows his subject well, responds promptly to questions, cares about students and is one of the best professors at Kwantlen.
Don is a phenomenal professor who clearly defines what he wants on assignments and exams. He was more than willing to help at office hours, and very responsive with emails. One of the best all around profs at KPU.
Don is an amazing prof. I would take any class he taught! Super smart and can explain things really well. His midterms are awesome, 4 questions you choose 3. Extremely fair marker, and his lectures are quite interesting. He relates the course to the real world. Many other profs should take some notes from Don. He's great!
I have to say, Don will go down as my favorite professor of all time. I'm no longer at Kwantlen, I moved to university of Alberta, but appreciate this professor as he is honestly one of a kind. He is what EVERY professor should be like. top top guy, take as many classes as you can with him.
He's an amazing prof! Take him if you're able to. He provides you with all the notes and resources so you can come into class and actually listen to him and comprehend the knowledge instead of scrambling to write notes. His exams are mediocre(not easy but not tough). Just look at the sample exams he gives, they're very similar. Awesome prof!!
Best Econ teacher, his exam format is the best, theres 4 questions each time and in those 4 questions theres 5-7 more questions. So for the first midterm say its chapters 1-4, you pick 3 questions and only 3 that you want to do, so to study for the midterm you can leave out a whole chapter, lets say chapter 4 is really hard, just pick questions 123
Don is the best prof I've had. His midterms consist of 4 questions, from which you have to choose 3. He gives out student packages and all you gotta do is read through those and know the learning objectives and you'll be good to go! Also has online assignments. Midterms won't surprise you he tests only what he covers. Lectures are interesting.
Great teacher- READ THE STUDENT PACKAGES!!! Everything you need to know is in there. First, read the chapter, then read the student package and highlight important stuff. Go see Don in office hours with questions he will explain & he's good at explaining. Participate in class and he will like you; answer a question wrong and he will love you, lol.
Don has been one of the best profs I've had. I don't really care for economics but he does a great job explaining the chapters and engaging the class. You can clearly tell that he is overall, just very passionate about what he is teaching. He provides student notes for every chapter which really helps study for exams.
Don makes the difficult course of macroeconomics, easier to swallow. I took his online course and his office hours and accessibility are amazing. I couldn't always make it to his office hours so we ended up having phone calls during office hours which really helped. He truly cares about his students.
He's an amazing prof and cares about his students. Make sure to ask him questions and clarification so that you learn the material instead of trying to solve it with the textbook.
He's great at explaining hard-to-follow concepts and he really does care about his students. if you are having trouble with something, then going to office hours really will help clarify things. Also, READ THE STUDENT PACKAGES. If you study the learning objectives well, you will go into the exam knowing exactly what's expected.
One of the best teachers I've had yet. He is very fair and he responds back to you right away. His tests are not easy but he lets you choose three out of the four questions for the midterm and the final you have one question that is mandatory then you choose the other three. You must read the content in this course otherwise you will be lost.
Dont take this prof. His exams are very difficult. He is a tough grader.
