Fantastic math teacher, he really cares about the success of his students. Dr. Soash breaks it down to the basics and still provides a stimulating environment for the gifted. All math students must study with him to find success!

he explains everything with great detail. I am in his Calc II right now and he breaks things down to algebra if you do not remember. I will be taking him all the way up to differential equations. He is by far the greatest teacher i have met.

I accidentally took Soash for calc II, when USF classes were full. Boy was i glad that happened THis is the best college math proffesor i have ever taken. Tells u whats on the tests, goes over problems, gives you formula sheets, took calc II, and D.E. with him and going to take calc 3 next semester

This guy is easily the best math teacher I have ever had. He is clear, methodical, and very helpful. He is experienced enough to know that many students forget a few past math rules, and so he doesn't mind reviewing some if you need help. Don't take anyone else! That would be a waste of time.

You wont find anyone as good as Dr Soash, I have had different classes in USF and HCC with several math teachers but NOBODY come close to soash knowledge and excellent teaching skills, also is important to note that He is a person(unlike other college profs)that understand and try to help students

If math is not your strongest suit take this prof! He goes out of his way to help you, keeps good office hours and wants you to do well.You will have to work at it for sure though.I was never any good at math until this prof. I managed to get a 100 on one of his test.He gives partial credit for all work even if you got the wrong answer.Worth it!

The best math teacher I have ever had! He really knows his stuff and presents it in a way everyone can understand! My class had a nickname for him: the mathemagician. He also has a great sense of humor to top it off!

I had his wife in highschool and she was an amazing math teacher and now I have been taught by Mr Soash and found out that he is just as great. His style of teaching is simple but to the point and really helps out if you need it.

Hes a good teacher. He gives extra credit on test. U barely have any quizzes and his test are only on the material he covers. If you don't pass his class its because u either never showed up, didn't ask questions,or never did the homework. He doesn't grade homework, but if u don't do it u will be lost.

He is by far my favorite teacher at HCC! I have been following him since intermediate algebra. I never do the homework and make an A on most tests. He teaches every possible way to solve a problem, and then gives you the easiest questions ever on the test. including extra credit on every test. Once you go soash you never go back :)

He will fill in holes for you if you forget certain things in previous classes. Soash explains clear and simple. If you are a talented math student, no homework is really required.

AWESOME!! Soash is hard, Algebra is hard, but he will do anything and everything to help you. He gives extra credit on tests and will clearly explain everything you need to know for the test. Use his review sheets, they are exactly like the tests.

Soash is great! He helps as much as he can. Do the review sheets and you'll get by pretty easily. I plan on taking as many classes as possible with him.

Dr. Soash is a great professor and person. He cares about his students. He expects you to know the material and review BEFORE class. Just work through his handouts and some of the problems in the book and you'll feel confident because Dr. Soash can answer all your questions.

He is very helpful. He is going through the lecture a little bit fast. But if you do your homework and practice a little bit at home, you will get an A. His quizzes are very easy. Usually 3 questions. For his tests you receive a study guide and an answer sheet. If you practise that, you will get an A. Plus he gives you an extra credit Question.

he is going through the lecture very fast. if you dont do your homework you are screwed. there are 5 tests, 5 quizzes and the final. he gives u study guides but they dont always cover whats on the test. you will have to practise in order to get an A. but he is nice and will study with you in his office if you are willing.

He is the best teacher I've ever had! Makes sure you understand what is going on. I had dropped this class twice and came to him and had an A until the final! He gives a study guide but it was just a lot to have to remember. I ended up with like an 88. So its still awesome! If you have a chance take him! HES AWESOME!!

Dr. Soash is very funny. He is straight forward and tells you what he will put on the test. He doesn't try to trick you, and is extremely helpful. His tests are not that hard, but do the homework. he outlines what problems you should go over. I loved his class.

Before I took Dr. Soash's class I hated math and rarely understood it. But Soash explains math better than anyone I have ever had and I really began to enjoy it. I highly recommend him.

The concepts I didn't get after Calc I with another prof he cleared up in the first class. His quizzes test the *basic* concepts. He is very clear and laid back. I've never liked math but enjoyed his class very much.

Soash is awesome, i am following him for calc II, calc III, and DE. he is extremely helpful. he makes sure everyone understands the topic befor moving on. he's no slouch either. homework is a must or you wont make it. he gives at least 6 quizzes during the semester. and about 4-5 tests replacing the lowest with your final. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!

this professor is the best. he gelps and helps and helps. i started to slack off thats why i got an C but everyone got really good grades. hre comes really early everyday and tutors you. he helps in class and always answers questions. he also knows that most likely you are not interested in math and you are just doing it because it is required!

This professor is the classic good professor. He is not into anything other than teaching. If you need to get prepared for further education, he is the solution. I will take as many math classes with him as possible to secure my math education. I've taken Calc I, III and will take Diff. Equ. w/ him. Too bad I didn't know about him sooner.

Dr. Soash will not admit it, but he is a Master of Mathematics. Take him for any of his classes. His doctorate was on finding reasons why students weren't able to learn mathematics. He knows why you don't understand math. Soash, I hope your Wife is doing good.

Great professor and very helpful. For me I think it is an easy class since I have been getting 100s on most of my tests. He is sometimes boring at 8am, but he always tries to make some jokes to make math class a little bit funnier.... I recommend it.

I took MAC 1105 2 semesters ago and had to withdraw coz the professor was horrible! So I was procrastinating to retake this class because of that experience. But Dr. Soash is a God-sent!!! He's a great professor, genuinely wants you to do well. Wants his students to go to him during office hours if you are still not getting the material. He even said he will still help us with other math classes that he's not teaching if you need it. I highly recommend him.

Calc is not easy but if you take him you will learn a lot and he don't mind moving test around if students agree to do so. take him you will learn a lot!!!

The absolute best math professor you could ask for. Extremely intuitive, understanding, and really has the material down great. You will learn anything you need for Calculus from him with excellence. If you're willing to spend three up to five hours a week just to read the textbook and do the homework,you should get an easy A. He does offer an extra credit on every exam, NO PARTIAL CREDIT IS GIVEN ON EXTRA CREDIT, IT'S EITHER YOU GET IT RIGHT OR NOT.

Best math teacher ever. Dropped out of Calculus I with another teacher at a different college. That guy was horrible. He had a heavy accent, and he couldn't explain concepts. Professor Soash was great! Do the practice problems, go to every class, study and you can get an A.

Dr. Soash has done so much in helping me understand higher math. I am in his Differential Equations course now and like Linear Algebra, he made it far, far, far more clear and relatable than ANY other professor I've had. i have taken mac1140 with him as well-He is a good professor it comes down to whether or not ur a good student. studying is a must. many ppl record his lessons and when they study on their own his lessons make more sense. He is very kind and patient to those who ask relevant questions. Practice the problems he assigns, go to him for help and pass!!

BEST MATH TEACHER AT HCC. Am I being a little modest? Not at all. He is a terrific professor! He spent time out every time I came to see him to teach me College Algebra. He would spend over an hour on his free time to help me. Without his help, honestly I would of failed his class. If I saw him before I failed first two tests I would of got an A.

Hands down best math teacher at HCC. I wish I would have taken him for all of my previous math courses. Goes way above & beyond. A true educator. I took him for D.E., but he let me sit in on his other classes to review previous topics, helped me with other math classes, and gave copies of his notes. He is clear on what he expects. I have taken math all the way up to DE so far and have not had a better. He will take time and go through all steps of a problem and really interacts with the class to make sure everything is OK. The atmosphere of his class makes it comfortable and inviting to ask questions. On top of his awesome attitude. Also he teaches what will be on the TEST

Great teacher, very clear about what will be tested, made differential equations easy. Homework is assigned, but not turned in(yay!), so just doing a few from each section of what he assigned was enough for me. Gets to know students, always cracking sarcastic jokes, very approachable. Definitely take his class.

Well let's just say.. I have taken college algebra 3 times now. I didn't pass until I had Dr. Soash. He doesn't MAKE you do any work, but he makes you WANT to do the work. He makes math simple and easy! I never understood this stuff before; I wish I found him sooner. He also has an assistant named Jessica who is awesome and so so helpful! Love him!

Soash is the man, he is very clear and gives worksheets rather than making you fight to properly input answers to mymathlab. It says it is required on his syllabus, but we've never used it. He really has a great teaching style and really cares if the students learn the material. He is also pretty funny. Looking forward to taking calc with this man!

As an older student let me say this, he is not allowed to retire until I finish up all the maths with him, all the way through calc3. He teaches the old way and not online. Meaning he shows you how to do it all with out a calculator. I learned so much in his class. You have to show up because of the nature of the course, you need to study! AMAZING!

Great teacher. Homework is optional but you will need it! He usually tells you the practical applications of what we're learning which is cool. He's pretty available to help you out most of the time.

very fun and knows the material well and that's important because I'm terrible at math! He has " Suprise Pop Quizzes" that he tells you a few days in advance so you can study and score well. Always available during office hours and very respectful to most circumstances but not a pushover. Four-Five exams and the final is mandatory. Take Him!

He is simply the best. He's super clear on his explanations and lectures. His exams are fair and he always offers extra credit on them. No homework, just suggested exercises to practice at home. He knows very well! I took MAC1105 and MAC1140 with him and immensely enjoyed both of these classes. Take him, he's a truly devoted instructor.

He has the ability to teach you more than other professors while not making it as painful. He is very kind, understanding and will reward you for hard work. He was willing to help me before or after class w/o hesitation. I think he's funny.

He was cool, we had homework but it wasn't for a grade. He had study guides and other practice worksheets, 4 tests plus exam. 6 quizzes, the final exam replaced a lower test grade. If you came to class on time, you got extra credit on your test. Not many math teachers I can recommend but he is one of them.

Hes a cool guy & can be funny at times. Does plenty of example problems on the board. He gives take home quizzes that come exactly from similar examples he did in class. Tests are all from similar examples he talked about in class. Study & you should do fine. Final can replace lowest test grade.

Dr. Soash teaches calculus in his own awesome way and makes it a lot easier for students. Attendance is not graded, but he gives extra credits for people who are in class on time.

Dr. Soash is the reason why I changed my major to engineering. I took exactly 7 different classes with him. Dont have nothing bad to say about him . Best professor in the whole world . He cares so much about all his students and their success.

I accidentally called him "Old man" the first week of school and he didn't instantly fail me. He's humorous, intelligent, and energetic about teaching Calculus. A student only learns as much as their professor teaches, and Prof. Soash teaches for accessibility, making sure everyone understands. Best math teacher I've ever experienced. 11/10.

Fun guy and an outstanding professor. He cares so much about the material he teaches and his students. He takes the time to ensure students understand where things come from and how topics connect to one another. Homework is encouraged, but not graded. Highly recommend his class.

He's a really good math professor, especially for Calculus. He explains the concepts well however if you want to pass his class it's imperative that you study every day ( but I mean for a calculus course it's expected). You will be missed, Dr. Soash!

Professor Soash is an amazing teacher. He gives all of the study material that you need to succeed, takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and makes class fun. You can tell that he genuinely loves teaching and genuinely wants you to do well. So sad he's retiring but I feel privileged to have had the chance to be in one of his last classes
