He's awesome. The test aren't that hard if you studied. He grades by the curves.

Easily one of the best professors out there. He has stories to keep you interested, and the out of class study time is minimal. Go to all the classes and it's a breeze. He prepares you for his tests, which grades were entirely based on. He is very forgiving, both grading on a curve and allowing test make-ups.

He makes his class interesting! Uses humor also, very important to making learning a pleasure.

Mr. Turney is great. I love to go to his classes. Very entertaining. no assignments except 1 small paper and 4 tests. your grade depends on the tests. he goes over all the info you will need for the test the week before. You really don't need the book, just borrow one for the terms

He is a really great teacher, his lectures are very interesting. The quizzes are super easy because he goes over the material that will be on the quiz, and the text book is not needed if you take notes. His class is super fun so i highly recommend it.

class was very easy and entertaining! i missed maybe a total of like three weeks worth of class (not all in a row) and still got an A. he gives you lecture notes and tells you what to expect for each coming up test. it is easy but you still come out learning something because of his teaching style. i highly suggest you take his class!

Dr. Turney is excellent, as many of the other comments will denote. He cares about his students. Spent an office hour discussing future career paths in psychology with me. His assignments may be easy but he really drives home the material with humor. I generally prefer stricter teachers but he is superb. Rice is also a great psych teacher at BC.

Don is a great professor. He makes his class easy and fun. He always is willing to help if you have trouble with something discussed and often stays behind class to talk to students. I highly recommend taking him if you need to take psych.

Don is a GREAT teacher, and is extremely helpful and humorous. He essentially gives you all of the questions to the test. Not only is it easy to get an A, it's quite an enjoyable class as well, one of my favorite! As mentioned by others, he also really cares about his students, and will be there for you if you need him.

turney=amazing. i have a drug addicted past & i talked to him about it every day after class. he was not just my teacher, he was my therapy. he truly cares about all of his students. also: no homework, movies, 6 free absent days, no textbook use (do not even buy it!), & he will let you change essay topics if you are passionate about it.

Hands down the BEST professor at BC. I took him as a sr in high school & he made me look forward to BC. No prof has met his standards of what an awesome teacher he is. He explains his material well & tells you exactly what you need to know for the test. The max I studied for a test was 2 hours. And the report(about a movie) was easy! EX CREDIT!

If you do not have conservative ideals, you may find some of his comments during class offensive. However, if you can look past such, you will find a great teacher. He is very clear in regard to what he expects. Gives test questions before the test to use as a study guide, and his paper is extremely easy.

Very cool guy. Always funny and in a good mood. As a teacher, he is very competent about the subject matter and could not explain things any better. The overall class is pretty easy. He has a review session prior to every test in which he practically tells you what is on the test: making studying very easy. Overall, one of the best at BC

He is extremely easy. No Textbook use whatsoever so dont by the book. He even says that he doesnt like to use the textbook. He hands you the notes which is word for word of what he gives you for the exam. The exams are a breeze. He even tells you what is going to be on the exams and the questions along with them. So there is no reason to fail.

I have had Mr Turney for 2 class's. Intro to Psyc and Child Psyc. Mr Turney is the best. Also Mr Turney does not have a hidden conservative agenda at all. He will tell you he is a conservative but he does not try and push his ideals on you at all. You will like Turney and he is very open to all students and will take time to help you.

This class is very easy. But I feel like I didn't learn a lot. Professor often gets off-subject and voices his political opinions and if you disagree with them, you can feel very uncomfortable. At least I did. If you want an easy A, this is the class to take. But if you want to really learn about child psych in a non-bias class, take someone else.

Great teacher. lecture notes are more than enough to pass the tests. writing assignments are beyond easy- as long as you show up and read the lecture notes he makes for you... i don't see how you couldn't pass.

Mr. Turney is so far one of my favorite professors at BC. He always comes to class with a story to tell and makes the class fun, but you also learn a lot. I would recommend him to anyone. Definitely one of the best teachers on the campus.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. He makes it fun and you can relate to him in he used to be a jock in high school and now has a Masters. Study the notes! Don't need the book... He's pretty motivational and easy to relate to. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I loved general psych with Turney! He cares so much about each student, will always make time for you, and understands college students. No hw but a few short papers. Types out and emails you the notes so no book is needed. Very understanding of missing class. Plans fun lectures that make you excited about the topic. Hilarious and cusses a lot.

Loved child psych and this professor is awesome. Knows his stuff, makes it as easy as possible for you. Tests are simple. Essays are as small as possible and easy. Can miss class. No need to buy a book unless you want to learn extra stuff on the topic. Passionate about his topic, cares about his students, and understanding.

Turney was the best teacher I had my first semester at BC. He teaches an interesting subject and really cares about his students. He shops at my work to this day (3 years later) and still remembers me and says hello! A great guy and a great teacher.

Turney is the BEST teacher at Bakersfield College! Since transferring to SF State, I have not had a professor that can compare to him, and I don't think I ever will! He sincerely cares about his students and wants them to do well. If you don't do well in his classes, something is wrong!

Turney is truly amazing! I am currently in his Lifespan Development class. He gives you ALL the information on exams and I have never given one of his quizes the WTF is this look. I am baffled as to how people are still not getting A's. o.O

Super easy class, teacher is usually late, and is very slow to start class. His short lectures are very slow and drawn out, but if you can last through class, this is an easy A. He pretty much hands you all the answers to the tests. Even the final. I don't know how anyone could fail his class. You'd have to be trying to fail.

Mr. Turney is a super easy teacher for both Psyc B1A and Child Psyc. All you have to do is study the questions he gives you and do a small research paper. If you do good on that and the tests then you will pass with flying colors. He makes so easy that if you don't pass then something is wrong with yo not the professor.

Changed my major because of this man. Such an amazing professor. YOUR TEXTBOOK IS NOT NEEDED. Show up and as he says, "PAY ATTENTION." The three essays are easy, basically only 2 1/2. He gives you the answers to the tests, just pay attention. Every word out of his mouth will have your undivided attention. Loved this class so much.

Going to class was pointless unless it was the prep day for the test. He is really easy because he tells you exactly what is on the test before you take it, but I wouldn't recommend going to lecture on a normal day. No point. Not to mention he emails the lecture because he reads off the power point word for word. I was disappointed by his class

Mr. Turney, is one of the best teacher you can get for psychology. His papers are not long, and the research paper he explains it step by step. Take good notes in class and you will surely get an A. Major plus, he gives you the questions for the test days before. Strongly recommend to take his class during the summer. You will survive.

If you're a psych major, you'll find yourself continuously signing up for Turney's classes. He is always clear with his expectations for students. Papers are 4 pages at most. Gives extra credit. Funny guy. I'm taking my second course with him. In my opinion he gives you the resources to learn, but ultimately, how much you retain is up to you.

Turney is super helpful. Has review days before every test that are essential. Will save you a lot of wasted study time. The paper isn't too bad at all, broken down into parts and he gives you feedback before you write the final version. Professor Turney is an amazing teacher, and really knows his stuff! I enjoyed his lectures and great personality. You take 4 test, each 50 questions. He reviews in great detail a week before the test so you should have no problem getting A's on tests. You'll write 2 papers and are pretty easy. There's plenty of extra credit. I 100% recommend him!

Professor Turney was a great teacher. His lectures are long but he explains everything thoroughly. He gives the answers for the tests during lectures by letting you know to write what he's about to say down. Tests were easy for me but not for others. All I can say is study. You get multiple chances to go over material. He cares about his students.

Turney is one of those professors that makes you interested in the work. His classes aren't necessarily easy A's, but they're not terribly difficult either. There are exams, quizzes, papers, movies & lectures. The book is only necessary if you don't pay attention to the lectures. I took 3 of his psychology courses. He's funny too!

Summer 16. Don't buy book! He goes over the exam questions before the exam, and during lectures he makes sure to tell you what will be on the test. The papers are real easy to get good grades on just follow the instructions and make sure it follows APA style.

this teacher make sure you understand the material and his test are easy and hes funny and he teaches in different ways so everyone can learn. he teaches things in a easy way and he gives breaks sometimes and he understand when things are going on he relates with his students. He does test pres which are just like the test themselves.

He's a pretty down to earth guy. You don't really need the book he goes over all the test questions with you and lets you know what you need to know for the test.

Very laid-back but also makes the class fun. He gives you answers to the test questions, homework is quizzes online once or twice a week, will answer all questions until you understand, and has some awesome stories that made me fall in love even more with psychology. In class time is just lecture but he is very positive and lively.

I love Turney. I almost wish I was a Psychology major just so I can take another class with him. He's hilarious, caring, and very informative. I've learned a lot in this class and I will miss his lectures. He gives test prep and has you do online quizzes which are easy if your paying attention in class.

Don Turney was one of the absolute bestestest professors I've ever had. He is extremely generous. He will help you get an A. He does give answers a week before every exam. He also offers extra credit and will help you with anything you need help with. I would highly recommend him to any BC student. You're gonna like him a LOT!!!!!!!!!

Professor Turney is a great psych professor, he has a great sense of humor. The book is basically useless, all you need is "my virtual child" code. The only challenge is the research paper he assigns, other than that the class is easy.

He gives the answers to the test while lecturing and assigns two papers throughout the semester of our choice. The parameters of course relate to psychology.

Took him for Psych B1 and Psych B40. Psych B1 was easy and so was Psych 40, up until he got ill, then a substitute took over. He tells you what to write down, then goes over the exam a week before the test. His classes are easy As, and u should get an A in his class. If u dont get atleast a B in his class then psychology shouldnt be your major

I took the introductory psychology course with professor Turney years ago at BC (and helped with a final research project) but I remember to this day that he was extremely supportive, kind, self-less, and always available to guide students. He provided great career advice and I am now a practicing school psychologist. Thanks professor Turney!!

Honestly an easy teacher you'll enjoy taking. His lectures are fun and light he tries to keep the class interested and has a good time. If you show up there is no way to fail, highly recommend to all my friends.

He uses an online version of the book to access quizzes once a week, so you have to buy the online access code. His lectures are the important thing, but he gives you all the questions and answers before the in-class exams, so all you have to do is study those. Very easy and very interesting. Anti-Freud. There are several ways to get extra credit.

All the quizzes are online, the tests arent difficult if you clearly listen to what he says in the lectures. He was a great professor I felt like I learned so much, I would most definitely take one of his classes again. Attendance isnt mandatory but his class great, so why not go? The quizzes due with each lecture can be difficult and mess with your grade but as long as you attend the lectures, read the textbook, and study for the tests (he gave the questions ahead of time), you'll pass the class. He's a pleasure to sit under and listen to, so he made the class a lot of fun.

Very interesting class, not too many assignments, mainly just chapter quizzes. Just read the book and you will be fine. The chapter quizzes come with mini quizzes to help prepare you too, for each section of the chapter. Nice professor, you can tell he is passionate about what he teaches.

Mr. T was an outstanding teacher. He is funny and makes class very enjoyable, I loved going to his class.
