This teacher is really over his head with exams every 2 weeks that are 7 pages long front and back! Plus all are write ins. I am a straight A student and I think his class is hard and if you are a type of person that doesnt put alot of effort and study then this class is definitely not for u
The worse professor I've ever had. Horrible teaching skills, helpfullness is useless, so boring his lectures are difficult to follow, tests are long and tough and he won't answer any questions on tests. Then he excuses himself by saying he's helping us prepare for 4-year colleges. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Not an easy class but instructor always willing to stay after class to help. He worked in the field and helped me understand the book by using real examples. He really tries to help people understand. Online links to video tutorials are cool and helpful!
1)Takes roll everyday &starts at Moment the secondhand hits 12. 2)If ur looking for a studyguide or ANY hint as to what'll be on the test, ur out of luck. He wont answer ANY questions about the test. He just says the questions can come from the book, notes, lecture, or homework... so study Everything. Studying Everything is a DAMN lot of studying!
I took him for 1B. Tough but gives homework points so that helps. I liked the way he worked out the homework problems. The way he works it out is easier to understand than the book solution. Format is different sometimes. I got an A.
Subject is hard but he went over all homework problems that were assigned. If you don't attend or if you leave early don't take him. Really helpful - he wrote me a scholarship recommendation too!
The material is definitely not as interesting as Financial but he does a good job of going over the material and breaking down the homework problems. Sometimes his solutions are easier than the book's. You have every opportunity to pass this class - hw is reworkable, hw solutions are available, 3x5 index cards are allowed for the test.
the most boring person in the world. if you plan on teaching yourself everything then take his class. he is so boring its retarded. I know accounting isn't exciting but he makes it absolutely irritating. Dont take him if your a normal human being
I liked his explanations. Only take him if you really want to learn. His explanations are better than the book's. I'm taking him again for 1B.
In class not online. He was very easy to understand and packs a great attitude including jokes and media references, unlike Atallah, my ACCT1A teacher. Take Bradshaw if you want to actually pass the class and learn at the same time. Great class.
Professor Bradshaw is a terrific teacher. He brings a wealth of real world experience to the class room. His tests are not hard if you do the course work. He will stay after class and answer your questions. I've found those who complained about his class were the slackers and teens who did not want to put in the effort to get a good grade.....
If you are an Accounting Major, take him. If not, then take it online with Thorpe. His lectures are all power point slides. His tests are hard and he allows one 3x5 note card.
be sure to attend every class, and dont leave early! he tries to insert some jokes here and there so he makes the subject somewhat interesting. i personally did well on the tests by doing the homework many times. if i remember correctly, he drops 1 test.
Bradshaw is my favorite professor at IVC! He really takes the time to answer EVERY question. Drops 1 test and allows 3x5 index card on each test. Show up to class as attendance is part of the grade, do the homework, don't be afraid to ask questions and you'll do great!
There are 6 thests, and you can drop one of them. Basically, his tests are based on 'Homework Manager'. You need to attend every class for roll, but you won't learn something special. Just do homework manager. You'll get A. Easy A if you do HM
Professor Bradshaw is an amazing accounting teacher. CPA certified and clearly knows his stuff. Very similar class structure as Urell but a bit more understanding. I got an A in his honors class even though i am not in the honors program. Text book needed. can use a note card on test, drops lowest test and has project. attendance needed (easy pts)
Class is pretty simple. Exams are very easy. He lets you use notes during the exams. Hw is annoying, but he does go over the assignments during class. easy A for those who are trying to boost their gpa
His cost accounting class is hard. Exams are 10 pages long and it take you almost 3 hours to complete. He doesnt do a good job teaching, you kind of have to learn by yourself. Book is used all the time but very long problems could leave you helpless. He never reviews for his exams (not even hints). Take this class with him only if you are a genius.
The subject is hard but his explanations are really clear. He goes over the homework in class. He lets us keep the tests. I plan to take the CPA exam and this helps me a lot. Great teacher who cares.
Great Instructor! Class was challenging for me but managed to stay with it. Doing HW is a must and helps with the test. Test are hard and studying is a must.
He is greatly experienced and so nice in teaching.
Hes a nice guy but i would not suggest him as a teacher. Acct is boring to begin with he makes it a lot more boring than it needs to be. He doesnt work out a lot of problems on the board. You do a lot of the teaching by yourself. I have taken a few accounting classes and this one has been the worst. He also keeps you late VERY often.
Very helpful professor. His power point slides are pretty good, all exams are from HW
This is by far the worst teacher at IVC. DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is a very rude and arrogant teacher who doesn't know how to teach at all. All he does is go over homework and reads off of powerpoints and expects you to know the material. Goes off on tangents about his life as a student and a previous nurse. Absolutely despise this teacher.
Great instructor. Tests are from the book. Gotta read and study but worth it. So interesting.
Worst teacher. Talks about his life more than the subject. 16 question tests worth 12.5 points each, miss one you basically failed. The way he teaches, the way the homework teaches and the book teaches are different from the test. Material was easy to understand but when it came to the test it was basically new material.
Awesome teacher. He actually taught the material. He has lots of experience so the lectures aren't boring. He tells you exactly where you'll mess up on the test so if you go and listen during class that helps a lot. He wrote a scholarship recommendation for me.
He is a REALLY NICE GUY, but I haven't enjoyed his class and would not take another class with him. He pretty much mimics the book and I feel I can learn just as well at home by reading the textbook on my own. He never lets class out early - you are there the entire class time. Dry humor and somewhat boring. Really nice guy, though!
This professor rocks. He explains things so well. I had a little experience in payroll but I needed more. I am really adding to my knowledge in this class. I have so much more confidence in my abilities. This subject is soooooo important to understand so I can get the absolute right answer. Anyone who does payroll even a little knows that.
Hardworking professor who cares. Always there to help you. I would take him anytime.
Not too hard if you study hard. You can't miss class because his explanations are sometimes important. Seems like an important class for any business major. This prof will help if you ask. Always ready to help.
If you attend every class and follow how he approaches each problem you will do well. Another key thing you need to do is read. I didn't do well on the second exam of the semester and I decided to start reading the chapters. Despite getting a bad grade on that exam, I was able to pull off an A without taking the Final.
He finds joy in giving you a weirdly worded questions so that you get it wrong so he can show how smart he is by telling everyone how he would do it. It's his way or the highway and hes very very smug. I got an a in my Accounting 1A class and a D in his 1B. No study guides. Everything book and lecture is free game. 5 tests and like 10 Hw pbs a ch
Really great. I struggled some but he helped me a lot in his office hours. Gotta read the book and practice the homework a lot but once I did that things worked better. He was soooo helpful.
Read the book. Practice the homework and make it to class every time. He gives some points for participating and for homework. Tests are hard but they basically come from the book. He was good about explaining and helping.
Totally awesome! Hard material but he works hard to be a great teacher. Works through problems in class. You get to use handbooks and power points in test. No excuse for not doing decent.
Struggled early-on in this class and realized I needed to work harder. I started reading the chapters and going to his office hours to review my exams. Ended up with an A and didn't even need to take the final! Pay attention in class and spend some time outside of class and you will do well.
He is a terrible teacher. His tests are very tough compared to other previous professors. He goes off topic and bores everyone to death. He makes everyone stay for his unrelated lecture. I got disinterested because of him. AVOID HIM!
Do not take this class! He talks for and hour about himself and goes on long rants. I got so bored and when he did say something of significance I would miss it because he is so boring. More importantly he gives 10 page tests. He doesn't teach anything that is on the test during class. He is a horrible teacher.
He takes roughly an hour off of lecture to talk about his experiences in the field, which can be quite eye-opening, but can also be irritating at the same time. His lectures are PowerPoint based, so you'll have to do quite a bit of work at home to get a good grade. No cumulative midterm&final. Gives partial credit in tests.
Tons of materials on Blackboard explaining concepts. Allows notes during tests. 6 tests and you can drop 1 of them. Tests were hard but right out of the homework. Tests are on Saturdays on campus. I would take this guy again - probably will.
Acct 1A was easier but this is more math word problems. lectures were basically business management and how to do the math. Very interesting lectures about the management aspect. It really feels like what you expect to be college level stuff. Note cards during tests and drop one of them. Some extra credit on tests. Skipping class is not good.
Skip class does not matter, his lectures often drift away from the main topic and he starts talking about life in general... He allows 3x5 note cards during the exams, no final just a regular unit exam. You can drop the lowest exam, more challenging than Acct 1A but it is probably better to take it online, seems to be easier...
Interesting class but harder cause of math. He helps a lot but you gotta attend. He really explains things better than the book so go to class. Use his way of doing the homework problems. He wrote me a letter of recommendation. He cares a lot. Such a good teacher.
-Great teacher. I enjoyed the class and would recommend it to everyone. -Personally, I think he gets off topic while lecturing. That's not always a bad thing because we had some good discussions in class that were not related to the course topic. -Donald is knowledgeable about accounting and helpful if you are on your way to getting your CPA.
I took his class online but came to campus to take his tests. In the classroom he blabbers on and on about nothing interesting and makes it worse with his stale, accountant sense of humor. He picks the trickiest test questions, his tests are weighted unfairly (1 MC 12.5ptdifficult multistep problem), and he offers nothing to study for tests with
One of the best online classes I have taken. recorded lectures for every chapter and also recorded explanations how to solve the harder problems. A couple of times recorded explanations for every homework problem in a chapter. My last online class didn't have lectures or explanations -- It was just power point files and reading. Take this guy.
Lecture chapter one day, go over HW next day, Lecture, HW, then test on the two chapters. This cycle is followed the whole time. You can hand write a 3x5 notecard for tests. HW is due test days online. Id recommend actually doing the hw before he goes over it in class. then do the online portion as review prior to test. He will help as much as need
does more for students than most online instructors. reviews homework in recordings and has lectures recorded also. I learned a lot. notecard ok. drops one test.
Tests can be hard but note card allowed. Sometimes gives extra credit on tests. I learned a lot. recorded lectures were helpful for study. He seems to care about students a lot. Always there to help if you need it.
The tests are majority of the grade so if you don't study you'll be done for. Whenever he lectures he goes off on tangents. This especially doesn't help because he ends up realizing how little time he has left and rushes the 2nd half of class. Does sort of the same thing for homework review. Lets you bring a notecard to each test though.
He tries hard to help answering questions in class and during office hours and tons of stuff on blackboard. I really liked this class but had to work to get the material. Note cards during test and more extra credit questions on the last two tests. Three on the last test. I had a hard time at first but he really helped me. This is harder than
I liked this class and the prof was really great. So different from financial accounting with the math and more business stuff. I would take him anytime. He breaks everything down so you can understand it. Gives a test every two chapters. He explains it better than the book but you still have to read. And he is so helpful. Some points on hom
Took his online class and completely bombed, I was super shocked to find out how bad I did when I got an A+ for Acct 1A, was not helpful at all and I basically had to self teach myself because his videos were not helpful.
took this guy for cost accounting. I already had my bachelors before taking this class. it was self taught alot of hw that you will never understand. some people did well while others made C's. this class will be very time consuming and you will be teaching yourself from the book. final was optional gave extra credit.
I will definitely take this teacher next semester. This was the first professor I have had who was this good at teaching real accounting skills. I am a CPA candidate and Prof Bradshaw was just what I needed to prepare. His tests were not that difficult if you did all the homework - very fair. Mainly he was such a good explainer of the material.
Test questions same as homework problems. Can use notes in test. Tests are on campus. Helped me a lot by email or in office hours. Extra credit questions on tests. Lectures are recorded. Also reviews all homework solutions in recordings online. great teacher.
Helps any way he can. Tests are like the homework. Answers email questions. Lets you use notes in test and sometimes gives extra credit. I practiced a lot and got better once I got used to him. Gotta practice homework to get good test grades. He cares a lot.
I've honestly learnt so much from Professor Bradshaw! I don't know whether everyone likes the style of his class - lecture one class, goes over homework the next class for each chapter - but I definitely found it very helpful. You actually have to study for his tests though! He also gives many real life examples in class. I love talking to him!
He isnt easy but do the work and you will rock. My recent CSUF prof never reviewed homework in class so Bradshaw is way ahead there. Wouldnt mind having him as my boss in a job. He is always ready to help in any way. Note cards on test allowed. Some extra credit on tests. One test is dropped. Go to the tutoring center if you can.
Pr Bradshaw is a University Professor at a Community college. He is very clear during his lectures, and very open to questions. Very accessible during office hours and email. I got 99% in his class because I worked hard. Highly recommended if you are willing to put hours into his class.
I took him for 1A and he was amazing and I get an A, that why I took 1B also with him, but it was so much different, the test was 100% more difficult than what I thought it was. he is a great professor and I do respect him a lot, but I won't take his class again. you literally will not know from where his test question is coming from.
Note card during tests. Sometimes extra credit. Explains things well. Partial credit sometimes. Drops one test. Very accessible to students always. He isn't exactly easy but tests are from the textbook material and if you study you can do great. Homework review recordings are posted and are very helpful.
He is the best. Fair but not always easy. I learned so much. He makes it easy to understand because of lots of experience in business. I did pretty good but I did better after I started going to his office hours. I think he cares a lot about his students. I asked him for a scholarship recommendation and he did it fast. So nice.
Accounting majors take him for sure. Best at explaining. Listen and take his suggestions and you will do so well. Awesome!
Online course was easy, you get one 3x5 notecard (front and back) for each test. He drops the lowest test. Online homework was simple. The brief times I saw him were test days and he would answer any questions before tests and be very clear. Take him for sure! Avoid Urell.
If you have the time to study the PowerPoints he leaves on canvas after his lectures, actually do the homework and THEN check your answers that he also puts on canvas, and fill out your index card he allows you to have for each of the 6 tests, you will pass. Theres no midterm or final, just 6 tests each on 2 chapters + your filled out note card.
I really liked this financial accounting class. It was online and had tons of materials recorded for study. Note cards were a life saver. Tests not easy but study hard and you do okay. Tests were all about the homework. Prof was helpful during office hours but I sometimes didnt have time. I used tutors sometimes also. I did well by the end
Great class. Prepping for the CPA Exam. This is just what I needed. Lots of work but he spends so much time going over homework solutions that you really learn how to do the work. Lots of useful stuff poste online. Drop one test. Can't say enough good things here.
Online class, i have a 4.0 gpa and this class ruined it. His class made us go in for tests every 3rd Saturday. yes Saturday he liked watching people struggle because he wrote his own tests and the way he worded things was to make you get confused. Good teacher i recommend taking in person. Takes 2-3 weeks to grade your test big lagger.
Took him at CSUF. Really nice and easy going, responds to emails very quickly :) Goes over ppts and he does the HW in class for you but it's hard to follow bc he expects you to know all the steps so he skips steps alot. Read the book, go over ppt, go to tutoring. Requires a lot of work so don't take if you want an easy grade.
Took him at CSUF, and his class was interesting in the beginning but it got real difficult. He gives total of 6 tests, 2 chapters a test. So you will have a test every two weeks, GL. Does not give study guides, and doesn't tell you what will be on the test. Get ready to read. Attending SI helped me a lot. But I did struggle so much.
Accounting is already a tough class, but Bradshaw made it a little tougher. The class was online which I wouldn't recommend. The homework was all on Connect, which was long but easy. However, the tests were not similar to the homework at all and worded very confusingly. He also drops the lowest test grade which is helpful.
No Zoom classes, outdated pre-recorded lectures (from 80's, not in depth review, very brief), problems on test are not in book, no study guide before test (will be rejected if asked), tutoring center has no accounting dept. to help you. TBH I figured he would be more accom given not everyone learns via textbook. Do NOT take online w/ him!
He may be a great teacher in person, however taking his online version of the class quite atrocious. No live Zoom meetings, rather crusty old pre recorded lectures from 2008 that cover just the surface of the chapter. Tests do not reflect materials in hw or lectures. He seems like a nice guy but would not recommend taking during online school.
I think professor Bradshaws way of teaching online is good. It worked for me. It might even be too detailed sometimes but I could access all the material when I wanted. The lecture recordings were good and he had separate recordings explaining how to solve all the homework problems. It is a lot of detail stuff. But I almost never had to ask h
1B - Accounting majors should take him. He knows his stuff. Tests not easy but one is dropped. Lots of math. Wish I could take him in person. Lectures are a bit long. Overall, really good class.
Get ready to read and listen to recordings. He was sometimes so funny on the recordings. Grade is all homework and tests. No study guide for test. He answered my questions pretty fast. I would take him again.
worst professor I have ever had, do not take. test was way way harder than the hw.
Fantastic prof. who really cares. great lectures. Gotta work but drops one test and gives extra credit. I would take him again.
Glad I took the live classroom. Zoom sucks for accounting. 1B was harder than 1A because of the word problems. So glad he spent all that time in the classroom explaining how to solve the problems. Wouldn't have done well without that. He threw out the lowest test so that helped. Overall a great way to get back to the classroom. I would recom
Did not care about students at all, many people dropped out or flunked.
I think he is wonderful. I took him for intermediate accounting and liked him so much. After the class had ended he told me of a CPA firm job and asked me for my resume and gave that to the firm and they interviewed me and hired me. He is amazing!!! Not just a good teacher.
Simple class format: Lecture, HW review, Lecture, HW review, Test -- on repeat. HW prepares you for the test, but listen to what he emphasizes in lecture. You get a notecard for the test - DETAIL is important. He repeats the same stories and talks a lot, but he knows accounting well. I'd recommend the class if you are good at studying on your own.
Do not take him. He does not give enough helpful resources. He only lets us use 1 note card front and back during each test. I remember that we had 6 HW assignments and 6 tests. The tests were worth a lot more.
Would not recommend if you had trouble in 1A. Homework was simple, but did not help much when preparing for exams. Exams count for nearly 85% of your grade. The positives are that he drops the lowest exam grade and gives you the homework solutions. He is nice and will work with you, but if you're not a strong test taker, look elsewhere.
I enjoyed his class so much.He always listened to the students and encouraged us to speak (voice) more. He shared his career and lots of his experience at workplace with us and everything was helpful. He gave us lots of handouts to fill out (in the accounting format) and that really helped us learn in detail. He solved every HW problems for us!
-Makes comments like, "I can't wait for my last zoom class to be over, after this I'm throwing Zoom in the trash for good." Refers to online students as, "Zoom creatures" and addresses students online saying "Attention Zoomland". -He goes off topic frequently is very opinonated. Classes tend to drag on because of this. -Pros: accounting knowledge
I really liked this professor. Accounting is hard but he gave me so much help. He really cares about people and he is so good at explaining. I wouldn't have made it without those canvas recordings. I am thinking about changing my major to accounting. You should take him.
Great teacher. Goes over homework problems in class and gives practice exercises to help. Lets you use note card on the test and sometimes gives extra credit. Lowest test grade doesn't count. I would take him again.
Decent professor overall but lecture heavy and kinda boring. No study guides or practice exams, exams are not the easiest and he's also kind of a harsh grader as well when your grades are mostly based on the exams. Like he's not bad but I would honestly choose the other accounting professors at IVC because they are just easier imo.
Passionate professor but very harsh grader. One mistake in a calculation may carry over 4 questions and take 25% of your test grade. However, a note card is allowed.
The teacher just goes over the homework and is an extremely tough grader. Would not recommend.
A fair amount of work but he gives lots of Canvas stuff and the handout problems in class saved me. Better read. Drops a test. Some extra credit near the end of the semester. He explains really well. Knows accounting. Read and go to his office hours-very helpful.
He is the best professor in the whole wide world. I have decided to pursue a career in accounting due to his amazing talents and passion for accounting. He really gives you a new outlook on business and really goes in depth on his explanations. He makes his tests super easy and you can use a notecard. Easily the best professors. Take him trust me!!
Took this class without previous accounting experience, and while it wasn't the most difficult, I definitely had to put in the effort. The lectures alone aren't the best for preparing for the test, but redoing the homework problems helps a lot. Allows an index card with notes on exams. Genuine person overall and willing to help students seeking it.
He just talk about is his personal life in class, you go to the class just to listen and sleep. I would rather to take the class online and study by myself on YouTube. Your Grade is based on 5 Exams (Best 4).
I had a very good experience in this class (and Acct 1A also). I understand his lectures and he gives you access to recorded lectures too. Miss something in the classroom - can hit the recorded lecture and make sure you got it. Lots of problems to work in class and get the explanation for the answer. That helped me. Note card for test allowed.
He just goes through the power points but does NOT teach anything. He has videos on canvas but its no different than his in person lectures. I'm not even halfway through his class and I can tell you it is not easy.
Best ever. I tried this course online and it sucked. In person with professor Bradshaw was so much better. He makes you work hard. Read and do the homework more than once. He will answer any question and any thing to help. So happy.
Took 202B with him. Explained so well but lots of reading. Homework recordings helpful when I got stuck. Passed one part of the CPA exam so far. I couldn't have done it without this professor. Class is 100% in the classroom. You can use a note card during tests. A little extra credit on later tests was helpful. Really happy I took him.
Taking him for 275A - Internal Controls class. Lectures are so interesting. It is helping me understand the revenue part of my intermediate accounting class I am taking. So helpful all the time. Wish all prof's were like him.
Great prof.-accounting is hard but he is great. Note card in test. I would take him again.
He is tough. could have been more straight forward with students. Babbles a lot of random stuff and go on unnecessary tangents.
Surprised that accounting was this interesting. I didn't think it would be. He has a lot of experience. It was tough at times but all worked out. The extra credit toward the end helped. I would really recommend this professor. I signed up for his 1B.
Professor Bradshaw is passionate about accounting and makes the material engaging. The course has a fair amount of work, but the homework, notecard, and dropped test grade opportunities help. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep alongside the textbook and office hours.
Not the most straightforward when it comes to the lectures but not a horrible professor. The homework and textbook are the keys to getting an A in this class as the tests are based on them (plus the practice sheets he gives out on HW review days). The tests make up like 87% of the grade so focus on those. There is extra credit later at the end.
The professor is kind, does not give the proper material to study for the exam the videos he uploads for homework review are poor he briefly goes over the answers and doesn't solve, also in class he does not stop talking about random subjects every other word he says he goes into a completely unrelated topic no one in class even listens
Honestly Professor Bradshaw's class is pretty straighforward. I took him for ACCT1A in my first semester and although you have to study a bit, there is nothing too hard or unexpected in this course. His tests don't feel like curveballs and if you just review the HW, the tests will seem easy. He is super accessible with his office hours as well.
Cool dude. Nothing extraordinary about his teaching but hes a solid professor and if you just put in some effort you will pass. Class is a lil test heavy so just study for that. you can use a notecard for every exam which is super useful. Pretty solid class and he gives extra credit on his exams. I got over 110% on last exam.
Quite easy, especially during the first couple units where if you do exceptionally well you can just chill for the last few weeks. But he's not the best lecturer and can go off topic a lot of the time. If you're not a fan of heavy lectures, take another prof like Tchaikovsky or Tannenbaum. Bradshaw's good though.
he seems to think very highly of himself as a professor. the class was easy, but i wouldnt take again.
Professor Bradshaw is the best. Explains stuff really well. Always willing to help (wrote me a rec. letter). One test dropped. Read. Test extra credit towards the end. Note card during tests. I would take him again.
The exams and assignments had nothing to do with the class content, which was incredibly difficult. I had no idea what my grade was or how much the exams would contribute. I told him I was worried about my grades and that I'd tried very hard, but he just said I wasn't trying hard enough. The exam scores were also unreasonable. Please avoid he.
he uses mcgrill hill and makes it way hard for u to bypass it.
So far the Canvas materials have helped. Reading the book is important. It isn't easy but he is a good teacher. Helped me lots in office hours. Recommend reviewing tests in his office after grading.
Good teacher. He knows accounting and explains well. Simple format to class. Lecture, homework and test. I worked with the tutor and that helped. Some extra credit on the later tests is helpful. I enjoyed his class. Notes are okay during test.
in person -great class. better than online. In the class we do problems - not just sit there and listen. he is very open and will listen to you. lets you have note cards during the tests. canvas is full of helpful recordings and other stuff.
