Class went from 36 to 4, demeaning to students. TERRIBLE!!!!
Oh My GOD! This guy goes out of his way to fail you. Does not answer questions and talks about his family instead of math! By far the most horrible professor I have taken is this guy.
Absolutely terrible. Not helpful at all, lessons have a way of turning into lectures about unrelated topics.
REALLY THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!
Awful, everyone HATED this guy, including me. He goes out of his way to be unhelpful, for example: He leaves it up to you to outline chapters, he doesn't explain much of anything. You're also responsible for all homework, and tests are impossible.
Horrible teacher; very rude and unfriendly. I see other people feel the exact same way. Why is this guy still teaching?
He's always open to working with students. He's an adjunct, so he teaches at three schools. He always makes time for students, and he is very flexible with missing classes, although if I missed class, I always felt behind. Those lectures are important

Really Cool Guy! He knows his philosophy. The test was tough, but most the class passed. Very interesting and even kind of fun. If you read the material, you'll pass.
Not really a great teacher, just well rated b/c of his attendance policy. Made us write worthless papers and looked down on students who didn't understand concepts he felt should be easy
I recommend him.He's very easy and his tests are easy if you do the reading.He's a people's person.I recommend him.I admit I failed the midterm but with an essay paper we did and homework(its worth extra credit)and the final I got a C.I know its a C but hey it's passing.
he's the worst teacher i ever had in my life. if u want a teacher that will help you, he's def. not the one. do yourself a favor and dont take his class, you will fail without a doubt. dont waste your money please!!!! i would recommend him if he was the only teacher left. hes awful and rude. he puts you on the spot when you dont undrstand something
not a bad teacher willing to help but the grade is no pushover what so ever! Only midterm and final defanitley need to read the book..not an easy grade! But he knows his stuff, just a confusing class altogether but i had to take it
A very interesting class but VERY confusing...there are no answers to philosophy so tests are extremely hard to study for. He's a great philo. teacher though!
This professor is excellent. He explains things so well and has a way of getting students to think about the subject being discussed and ask question. And if a professor can do that with a subject like ethics then he is good in my opinion because ethics is a difficult class.
Really a cool guy. Midterm and Final we a breeze. I would definately take him. I took his open class which is similar to online and it was great. we meet about 5 times for the semester. I would definately recommend him.
He is such a delightful teacher ...passionate about his teaching...and extremely patient...he has such an intelligent mind.....he also is very clear about what his tests are going to be like..you have to work for your A ...but your understanding of basic Logic will be invaluable to you...
he is a nice teacher.His teaching method is very good,but sometimes he has a hard time controlling his hands.His hands slips down(down to your legs)..but he is a good teacherfor teacing,and he has a good accent.

awesome teacher. makes philosophy sooo interesting. im really glad i took him. i went in not knowing a thing about philosophy and came out being really openminded and questioning everything. o, & he is hot.

Worst teacher ever. Would not help BCC students for being busy with his second job. Unaccepatable!. I wished I had learned somethinhg in this course. I did not. Had great expectations but were never fulfilled. Avoid him if you can.
Outstanding teacher. He knows how to open your mind. The class was so interesting that by the time each class ended, I felt like it lasted 15 minutes and wanted to stay the whole day just listening to him. He really thinks "outside the box" I would definitively take him next semester.
he's excellent. and not surpringsinly the people that gave him a bad rating got a C or failed the class either they do not get him, or are so close minded that could'nt pass a basic philosophy class
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN AND UNDERSTAND MATH DO NOT TAKE HIM. HE GETS OFF TOPIC AND DOENST MAKE HIMSELF CLEAR, AND THE WOMEWORK...DONT EVEN MENTION IT!!! I HAD TO DROP THE CLASS AFTER ALL THE EFFORT I PUT IN IT.
when i took him in january sixth he was a bad professor cause all he did was teach and teach and not help you out when you ask he would look at you like why are asking for help when i already show you
i think wilma helped us all in this class cause the mid term ended up being a take home and the finals was an open book exam he gave half off the finals has take home i think i grade is an "A" or "B" i wish i had learned a little more than what i have now but otherwise it was a fun class.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. He never brought the textbook to class. He tells stories about a lot of uneccesary things and he goes off on a tangent all the time. He also assigned loads of homework (like about 130 problems) for only 5 points extra credit. The entire class complained about his methods. Don't take this professor!!!
HE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER TAKEN. IF YOU ASK HIM FOR HELP, HE ACTS LIKE YOU SHOULDN'T BE ASKING FOR HELP. THE INTERACTIVE MATH TEACHES YOU ONE WAY TO DO A PROBLEM, BUT ON THE TEST HE WANTS YOU TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. HE IS VERY LAZY. THE SEMESTER IS ALMOST OVER I DO NOT THINK I'M GONNA PASS. Very good professor he is also very funny. if you need to take ethics please take him sure A. Only two test midterm and final he tells u exactly what to study.
Re The last poster: What does bringing the textbook to class have to do with being a good teacher? Dr. Bridgewater knows his stuff. In addition, he teaches it well, too. Just give him a chance, and you will learn. And in case you are wondering, no I'm not the professor. I'm just an average student who learned something from Dr. Bridgewater.

He is funny, insanely interesting, and adorably childish at times. His class is fun, the discussions are very confusing. I left each class with the mandatory headache. But I loved every minute of it. Its a tough class to get an A in. Got a B

hes a great guy, knows his****, but logic is hard as hell for me................i have no clue how i got a B in the class.
Prof. is cool and laid back. I got a B in his class with minimal effort. His test were take home but still a bit tricky so study with a buddy. He keeps the class interesting and talks about topics other than logic to break up the conversation a bit.
I really wish I had reviewed all the comments made here before I signed up for his class. He really does not give proper examples (if any), goes over unessesary stories in class, has a bad attitude and thinks we are stupid, yet expects us to know the work after going through a section in 10 mins. Showed up half an hour late b/c his watch stopped!
This teacher sucks. If you are looking for clear teaching, good examples, and an on-point teacher, he is not for you. I mostly study out of class and just show up on test days now. The book teaches way better than he does. You know something is wrong if a class of 40 students is now a class of 11.

Went into his philosophy class with the attitude of "let me get this over with" in order to fufill my requirements. The class was one of the best ever due to Jay Buick. Didn't need to but continued with Logic and Ethics because he's just one of the most outstanding teachers I've ever had. Can get As in his classes, but must commit to doingTHE WORK
Horrible. You cannot approach him, does not explain work clearly. Stated below (11/1/06) over half the class withdrew, I am one of them who left.
Good guy! Engages and encourages his students to participate in discussions. the concepts learned in the course are difficult but he will try his best to help you understand. I walked away a better critical thinker with an A!
i wish this guy would seriously fall in a hole somewhere and die. If not him, at least his career as a teacher. this guy has no idea how to actually TEACH. IF you are one of those struggling to pay for college, don't take this guy. You'll find yourself paying for the same class next year.

i have had some bad professors in my time but not one compares to the atrocity that is Bridgewater. If you want to start taking prozac, take this class! After a student takes his class and survives they are left with the empty feeling associated with when one kills brain cells.HORRID! Do not take him ever!
If you leave his class with a D, consider yourself lucky. I've gotten all A's and B's, and I've never felt the need to just SURVIVE a class. He does his tests just to purposefully trick students, he test you on the things he DOESN'T teach. He expect you to know them as well! Man, guys I tell ya, The FINAL ROCKED. WHY? Because HE DIDN'T MAKE IT!
Prof. Buick is an amazing teacher! For a long hour Saturday class, he made us want to be there. I strongly recommend this professor.
Kinda hippy-like. I had him Saturday at 9am so that might have added to his "I don't care" attitude but he was EXTREMELY laid back. He gives like 3 tests (take home) and two papers (2 pages each). Not a hard class, but don't take it Saturday morning. The conversations would have been more interesting if we hadn't just got out of bed.
Pick another teacher, he is a grumpy old man...the subject is very hard.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!! Unless you know everything about Algebra, otherwise this guy does not help you out at all. Find another teacher that knows how to teach. I along with 31 of the class got F's, their was this one girl that got an A and that was it everyone had D's and C's but overall most were F's.

The worst teacher ever. HE cant explain for nothing, always telling a stupid story. if u are on his class for 2 hours, he will only explain one problem. He doesnt go by the book, he explain his own way. His test is Horrible, you will find about 2 problems that did explain throughout the whole damn test. Dont waist ur time and money. worst teacher.

OMG !! WORST TEACH EVVEERRRRR. i am warning you now before you take this class ....drop it! i dont know anybody that actually passed his class last year. out of 180 student 95% failed the first test. and i think the might have failed the rest of the semester. NOT A GOOD TEACHER AT ALL !!

i love math, i have always get straight As in math and i can say that if you are like 80% of people you would not pass that class only 3 people took the final exam i dont know how but i got a B but i worked really hard, dont take it, dont waste your money and time!
Do not wate your money, time or efforts. You won't find out till after drop/add week that he is the worst math teacher ever. By the time you do, you won't be able to get your money back. He is rude, incomprehensible, and could care less about your grade. His tests are rediculously hard and gives no notes worth writing, no exapmles.

I wouldn't say he was an easy teacher, boy did he make you work. I think his class was helpful, because you had to really care about your grades to go the extra mile. I tried really hard, sometimes i though that my effort wasn't paying off, but at the end it did. He is a knowledgeable teacher i think the experience was worth the craziness.
Don't waste your time taking him. He runs through problems so quickly you will miss how to solve them. The only thing you get graded on is the 5 tests you take, and that's including your final.

Worst math teacher I have EVER had. Trust me!!! He thinks that he is teaching at a graduate level where he can just talk and talk and talk with no examples and his students will just KNOW! I hate him and he totally makes math boring because I love math. I am dropping his class tomorrow and I do not recommend him to anyone EVER!!!
this is a calculus professor and he doesnt care if you are paying attention or not or if you are failing or not. He never would explain something to you and the when I had his class the wole class was failing.
WORST TEACHER! He tried to make excuses for everything since he had no knowledge of Statistics. He was rude,and ignorant. You will fail if you take his coarse. My entire class was failing until we reported him and had him KICKED OUT!

I have attempted on several occasions to have this professor help me in the math lab. He doesn't help. He has told me every time to look in my book to figure out how to do it. Why does he tutor in the math lab if he doesn't want to help?
I don't even have him as a professor& I understand the hate. I unfortunately ran into him in the Math Lab-(In which i never go)- and i just plainly, politely asked him if he could direct me to a tutor who could aid me onaproblem. He yelled at me in a such a nasty fashion?almost as if to make a show? This man loves to belittle people for no reason.
dont pick this class. this guy is more out to get you a F. it is as if he doesnt want to teach you. however if he gives you a test on his personal life you will definitely get a A++.

I cannot believe this BRUTE is still employed as a professor. I had him in 2002 for MAC1114 and was just as bad as every comment on this list. Had to drop the class and lose my money. Congratulations to those of you that complained and had him removed. He was most irratable and unconcerned professor I have EVER had.
Worst professor I have ever had. Wants things done his way regardless of what the book says. Final exam is tomorrow and I am one of the 2 people out of almost 20 that have any hope of passing. Dept head sided with him as far as letting entire class fail. Don't take Bridgewater and, honestly, avoid BC as a whole.

Went to the doctor after the final exam. My blood pressure was a 150 over a 100!!! This class was ridiculously hard. Professor graded as if we were experienced engineers.I am really imploring you to avoid this class. Don't rush and mess up your GPA. Wait until there is a better teacher. Don't make the same mistake everyone else made.

Do not take this professor. I have him right now and he is no help. Last semester i had an A in math and right now i have an F. He gives test on stuff he didnt even go over in class!!!
Please just stay away, even though you get answers right on the test, he will mark it wrong if you dont work the problem out in the way he taught. please just dont bother with this professor.

I am an A-B student never got less than a B and now I have a D-. he wanted to prove how hard he was by giving everyone an F and making 3/4 of the class drop by week three! He was rude and didn't offer any help when it was asked. I got an A on all the math questions but 0% on anything he could put his opinion into.
I am an honors student. This was one of my final classes to complete my BS. He was zero help. His answers were canned and they all consisted of redirecting me back to the syllabus for answers. He is not a teacher and he should not be allowed to assume that title. If the majority of a class is failing and we can't get help, then HE is the problem.
He does not give multiple choice tests, he grades only the work shown not your answers. In class he does not give enough examples of the problems. He speaks to us as if we should know all of the material. He told me that we didn't have enough time for covering more but goes on and on about things that have nothing to do with math. He is the worst
This class is hard and the professor makes it harder. Very Hard do not take. 9 out of 10 times you will fail. Also he only has tests as grades, no extra credit no make up. Half of the class dropped and then the remaining half withdrawn, including myself. PLEASE PLEASE whatever you do, DO NOT take this class, or you will be sorry.
Hardest I ever worked for an A. Only 4 tests & a final. If you're not strong in math I wouldn't recommend. But he does have compassion & he does help if you ask.
