He knows what he's talking about and seems to be interested in the subject himself. He tries to keep the class interesting by including interesting things in his slides, the class is all lecture, and no discussion so can sometimes get boring
Don knows what he is talking about and is very interested in the content, however he's not so good at teaching it. All he does for an hour and 15 minutes is lecture in a dark room. I almost fall asleep everytime. Has tough essay exams and long papers due often. Expect to do a lot of reading. Try to take someone else if possible.
He's tolerable.
His lectures are not structured or related to the readings but interesting and will help for the exams. 2 essay exams from the readings not too bad. 2 8-10 page papers which he grades easily and he gives 50 bonus points during the semester. just have to meet with him about the paper. reccommend taking.
Nice guy, but the class is so boring.. all he does is lecture the entire time.. nothing else. A lottt of material to read/be tested on. wouldn't recommend the class but if you work hard you can do well
Great Prof He knows his stuff but his lectures are very very dry. 2 8-10 page papers and 3 exams. Papers were graded loosely and he let us use notes on the exams. I stopped going to most of the lectures and just took notes as I read the assigned chapters. He also makes you buy like 5 books. They were not that expensive though. I think 100 for all
Easy class if attended and decent notes taken. Actually enjoys the material he covers. Fun class if you enjoy history.
He's a really nice guy, however his lectures are boring and tedious. That being said, he is very helpful if you go to his office hours which makes up for the lectures.

Like the other comments, he was very dry in lectures but he was a very nice guy. He helped you out if you went to office hours, especially if you did poorly on an exam or paper. I would not recommend this class unless you need it and can't find another history class
Worst teacher I have had at BG so far. I was going to be a history minor, and changed because of this class. No one in my class likes him, he's very cryptic, and doesn't understand that college students have lives outside of schools. 200 pages of reading a night.
one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Sometimes his lectures can be dry and boring but if you actually listen what he talks about is extremely interesting. Pretty much tells you what is on each tests and he grades very easily on his papers. I would recommend his classes for sure!
Hardest class ive taken this far. Seems like he forgets he is teaching a 1000 level class. Seems like a 4000 level class. Prepare to work your butt off and maybe get a C
Dr. Eberle, although he is a nice guy, is not a great professor. All tests are based only on the book, the lectures are not included and are pointless. You have to read every single day in order to somewhat know whats going on. When asked how we should study he said read the book better. You might as well just take an online class instead.
He is a nice guy and all, but it seems he has no idea what he is doing. his lectures are all over the place and extremely unhelpful. You would probably be better off not going at all, except wait, there is attendance. Study your head off to barely pass, and class average on tests was below 60. Good Luck!
If your looking for an easy 1000 level class, this is not it. This 1000 level class can be compared to a 4000 level, not because of the content but because of the professor. BY FAR the worst professor or teacher I have ever encountered in all my years of schooling. Be prepared to study your butt off for MAYBE a C.
He may be a nice guy and all, but this was by far the worst class I have taken. I am an above average student and once he came in to the class, my grade... along with everyone else's grade, dropped immensely. His tests are straight out of the book. The only way you will pass his tests are by reading and taking notes straight from reading the book.

Had a relationship with his student, married her, had two kids, adopted one, divorced and living in her basement. Lessons are boring but still have to do them because I have to. I wish he made his lessons better than he used to, so there not boring for future students. I wish the best for him because he was a nice guy, just lessons were boring.

Long story short, met him at at a local jimmy johns... he really knows how to make himself the center of a room. and the sides, and partially outside of the room. anyways, he ordered everything on the menu and then proceeded to give me this paper called a "crash course" would rate lower if possible

I was just walking my guinea pig one day and Donny rolled on towards me and snatched him right up and started gobbling down on him. My poor guinea pig Eduardo was massacred that day. The evil Big Don needs to be brought to justice and executed in the middle of town for his war crimes against humanity. He´s too big.
Pal takes 15 minute bathroom breaks and takes his computer with him, he has weird stains on his keyboard. He says weird PDF file comments. I feel so bad for his chair it squeaks so loud while it's quiet in class. He has been growing out his beard and looks like a deranged mall santa that got fired for touching the kids. He is way too big for class.

I was just sitting in the lunchroom one day and I hear a faint chomping sound and suddenly Pac-don burst through the wall and starts eating all the tables and people and their food but he got way too humongous and starting eating the whole school and the ground and eventually he got to eating the earth and the planets and then big Don ate the sun.

He broke my desk when he was talking because it made a sonic boom and broke my desk and a standing desk. He also made the class do a 20 page crash course and would kick people out for no reason
He talked about circumcision during one of his classes and almost every student was extremely uncomfortable and toward the end of the class almost everyone was falling asleep if not already asleep

If you need a nap or want to feel uncomfortable take this teachers class if not I highly recommend avoiding this class at all cost
He overall wasn't a very good teacher. He would give us no time to do stuff within class, has tests almost every single day. he didn't post a vocabulary thing, and we aren't allowed to use his textbooks often. We have little to no time in his class to work. He also talks about weird, unrelated things, or goes into depth about unimportant things.

He is a good person but terrible teacher. He gives way to much work and not enough time to do it. He gives lots of packets and he gives three test per week sometimes. When he teaches, he doesn't do a good job so we don't learn anything. The reason he has so much extra credit is that people wouldn't pass his test without it. Overall hes not good

I am a student who takes his class at Napoleon jr/sr High school in Ohio. Overall he just gives busy work. When he does teach us, he doesn't do a good job at explaining. Something very weird that he "Had to teach us" was about CERCUMSIZED WEINERS OF THE DUTCH. You heard me correctly. Every teacher I ask says that he should not of taught that,GROSS!

Completely unrelated but the sub for my English teacher today was the worst sub I have ever encountered. She was talking too big for her. She is just a miniscule sub she has no true power. She was all about immediate office and call to the principle at the sight of a phone but when one goes off she just disregards it. She made us study for nothing.
