i had him for math modeling. he's one of the only math modeling teachers who does not allow test retakes, will not let you use notes on the tests, and will not let you use graphing calculators. very boring, definitely harder than math modeling should be!
Hes rude when you ask for help. Occasionally lets you use your notes, and gives extra credit but it still doesn;t help much.
I don't know why the two previous people gave him such bad results. I had him Summer 03' and maybe he improved after reading the comments about him. lol If you attend class and pay attention you should get at least a B in this class. I got an A.
Boring, and makes introductory math courses much more difficult than they should be. That said, he isn't necessarily a bad teacher, but if other options are open then definitely go for them.
He is a very good professor and explains slowly and well. If you are not a layabout, you should get a good grade in his class.
i feel bad for him. he tries so hard but hes confusing and he explains way too much. its really not that serious. if your pretty good at math you could take him becuase he doesnt have an attendance policy so you could just come on test days. but if you come regularly you might get confused.
Mark Twain says "idear" a lot, but he gives easy tests. Makes math boring and confusing. Didn't use calculators that much which is a good and a bad thing.
Great teacher,I understood all of the meterial very well,becouse he explains well,only a bafoon wouldn't get it.If you do all of the homework and learn the definitions,you are prepared for the tests,they are not too easy,but i didnt have problem with it,becouse i was on the book all the time and made an "A."
He thinks everyone is a mongoloid. I have never had a prof break things down to sucha a basic level. He will not make eye contact and cant give a straight answer. Just do the handouts and a few of the homwork problems and you will make it through fine.
Very demanding teacher, but you'll learn a lot if you just listen. Not the most helpful person, though. Sounds a lot like Mr. Garrison.
Very confusing teacher,rude when asking qusetions.This class is half online and half in class.He does not teach in class,lets say most people sign in then leave.Yes he takes attendance,and yes it is true he wont look you in the eye.Ask him a question in this class he will refer you to the online work.He makes it harder than it should be.
He is a genuinely nice guy and he really tries to be interactive in lecture. However, the My Math Lab has been giving me difficulty.
He's a very nice teacher and was helpful. However, in the math lab, it was more like self teaching. We do alot of worksheets in class and we have to present the problem that we did in class to the rest of the class. His test are easy since they come DRIECTLY from the pratice test on line! Best of LUCK!!
in the begining he teaches the class but then he just gives you a hand out. he's not big on answering questions but he is a nice guy. i didn't like the class but it's easy to cheat off the person next to you

oH HECK No!!! Almost put me to sleep. Class wasnt hard if you have any sense about math. Can skip on ocassion and still get a good grade.
It's amazing this guy is still allowed to teach. Totally confusing, impossible to follow. Kept making mistakes in class, doesn't answer questions. I hope you are good at learning stuff on your own, otherwise, don't bother!
I've had this teacher twice in two different classes. He spends his time bumbling back and forth in front of the class, spends hours rambling on about nothing, only to stop and say "never mind, that's wrong." The homework and the tests were hardly ever related. Not helpful with questions, don't make the same mistake I did. Take another teacher!!

well......you go to computer lab to do work..home/quizes/test....all on the computer..but he still takes attendance........you do not need his assistance at all......everything is online.
DONT BUY THE BOOK! JUST BUY THE CODE! have to come to class for a grade and for group assignments. take him b/c he is like the only english speaking math teacher (besides McPhail) but McPhail doesnt curve tests so I recommend Harden if you want to increase your grade a little! Yea this is the class you teach yourself but its high school math
Buying the book is a waste of money. Buy the code instead. Teacher is helpful if you ask for help.

Donald Harden seems content on coasting his way toward retirement. His class begins each day by him reading the intro to a chapter and then you doing a worksheet until class is over. He is a joke and makes no noticeable effort to help his students. Do not take this professor if you have difficulties in math.
I cant stand this teacher. Take a different teacher, he looks at you like your stupid when you dont understand something. You have a quiz and homework every week. His test are hard because they never go along with the notes from class or homework.
He is a good teacher. He gets confused at times which confuses you. His teaching style is his way or no way. going to the mile is horrible. i hope you do better in the class than i did
Very repetitive but easy. Friday lab days are not fun but attendance is a must. He has some very lame jokes. But all in all, he is a nice teacher.

This teacher could care less how students learn in his class. In class he does a 5 minute summary over a chaper, and then gives problems for students to work. After this, he walks around the room looking for pencils on the floor. This guy is the worst math teacher I've ever had. Do not take him unless you want to learn everyone on your own
He's may look mean but he's a nice guy. But he does the explain the day's work very well.He would do it on the overhead & I persoanlly just got confused. Helps if you ask him a question tho'.I don't know if it was bc it was a summer preclac class (so the pace was rather fast)..or it was this whole course compus math tests that real make u sink!
He would write all over thechalk board to do 1 problem, then return to the original equation to say 'Oh...it was a 7 not a 3' and re-work it all in a totally new way. He never looked ANYONE in the eye. He assigned 2 projects that had NOTHING to do with the course. They had nothing to do with knowing the material but rather, knowing Excel.
Run!Run!Run! and...Run!Bit of an attitude. Knows what he is talking about but seems to have trouble communicating it. Tests are...its calculus...what do you think. Many quizzes and many dropped. If you are good at teaching yourself then take him...if not RUN!
Mr. Harden is probably not a mean person, but he had some attitude problems. He constantly made students feel stupid when they asked questions and failed to effectively communicate main ideas. He also made a lot of errors when he would do problems, making it more difficult to follow what was going on.
Horrible teacher!!! He is more concerned with students leaving than teaching. Takes roll twice, so to give only 1/2 credit to students who leave early handwriting sucks and you basically have to teach yourself. The MILE is a joke, really no help there. If you are not a MATH GENIUS, don't take this professor. A waste of time, I learned nothing!!!
Not a good teacher. He doesnt teach the subject well and you'll only understand him if you've basically taught yourself already. His attendance policy is REDICULOUS...He only allows 2 absences the whole semester if if you have medical issues. He's kinda slow. Dont take him if you're trying to make an A & dont already know your math. MILE is USELESS
He is a really nice person, just not a great teacher. you only have to do the online homework and quizzes really. the tests are okay. the computer teaches more than he does.

His class was a nightmare. He is a horrible teacher. He also genuinely does not care. He has a very much "you're on your own" mindset. Usually that would be understandable, if the teacher was a little better at what he does. Sadly, he's tenured, so he's here to stay. For the love of God, avoid this teacher at all costs.
WORST teacher I've had. Doesn't help students at all. You have to do ALL the online homework and you learn nothing new in class. His test reviews don't help at all. He has questions that weren't in the review. Teaches like you're lready an expert in the subject.Doesn't curve and grades hard. Not a nice guy, and most of his students have to repeat.
I bought the book but never really needed it. I am horrible at math, but I barely attended class and got an A. This is because I did the quizzes and homework (easy 100%), did the Excel project(easy A)and I made sure I understood the homework. He's a nice guy, but he does make mistakes. If you fail then it's your fault.
He's a generally nice guy..but not too helpful. Don't buy the textbook bcus everything is online! Oh and attendance is mandatory and he takes that very seriously. Class was pretty useless and you can do this course yourself really.
Honestly, this class is a joke. I never attended class because it was only 2% of my grade and at Georgia State they force you to spend 3 hours a week in the MILE- which is like 7 or 8% of your grade. Even if you finish everything early you have to stay. If you only clock in 2 hours and 59 minutes you get a 0 for that week. Take this class online!
It's just a math class of course he is just doing his job and he is not the one grading you. Attendance is mandatory and this class is very boring.
Complete waste of 50 minutes of your time. Teaches irrelevant material and doesn't teach it well. He's really boring and doesn't really care about the students. You go to class, zone out the entire time, and then leave. Easy A if you do that and complete the homework/quizzes/tests.
Took ONLINE college algebra. If you need the extra help, i don't recommend online. however, it is nice not having to waste time in a class. He sent out helpful email reminders of due dates, and when to sign up to take exams. Responded to emails. Other than that...I didn't see him. So just some thoughts if you are taking online math.
Mr. Harden is kind of aloof, but he does care whether or not you understand the material. He goes out of his way to make sure all his students know about upcoming deadlines, extra credit opportunities and such. He is a genuinely nice guy, his class is boring, but he's always been more than willing to give extra help if needed.
This class was a complete waste of my time. You might as well have been told yourself to teach yourself . He is a worthless teacher and he doesn't take time out to help individuals . When he address a problem that people have issues with , he comes off as stark and condescending . Save your money and your time . Plus , he wears the same clothes .
Bottom line, professor doesn't really matter, although attendance is mandatory to class, but it's only 2.5% of your grade. Homework, quizzes, and tests are done in the MILE. He knows his stuff if you need help on something in particular, otherwise use class time to take care of other work so you can get your attendance grade.
You can be MIA during class time, it really doesn't matter. Just get the attendance grade, do the MILE hours, and study for the tests. In the end of the semester there are things done that help your grade (lowest test grade dropped etc.) He's really willing to help you for any problems during office hours in the lab and in class.
You will work and earn your grade in this class. You cant miss any days because things get really complicated really quickly. The book will be your best friend because the teacher has a either you get it or dont attitude. He gives 4 in class tests 2 take home and a final. Also previous stat knowledge helps very little when it come to this course
Here's the deal. Math 1070, elementary stat. isn't too difficult of a class, espically if youre willing to actually look through the book and participate in my stat lab. However you will have little to no help from the prof. You basically have to teach yourself, but if youre willing to put in the work youll be fine.
You have to teach yourself in the mandatory math lab to do well in his class. I would say to just skip his class all together if attendance wasn't counted to strictly by him. He offers absolutely no help and listening to his teaching almost confuses you more. Just go to math lab and get help from the students in there and you should be fine.

Don't take Harden. His teaching style is poor at best. When he tries to do examples on the board, he gets confused and backtracks. Paying attention to him only confuses me more. Attendance is mandatory; earlier this semester he went after a student who left early yelling "EXCUSE ME! class isn't over yet!" She was going to use the restroom. Awkward.
Absolutely terrible. He is the worst math teacher ever. I consider myself to be excellent at math (got a perfect 800 on sat math). Coming from me he is the worst teacher to have. He will never explain anything. He trys to help you but then ends up confusing himself. Harden is helpless. He is a different kind of useless.
Harden's 50 minute lecture is the most pointless thing on earth. E-math teaches you everything, so just show up to his lecture to get your grade, because attendance unfortunately matters. Also, show up to class on time or he'll be annoying and kind of heckle you about it.
To be honest, he seems great but he cannot teach period, but his class is very passable. All you need to do is attend his classes because attendance is mandatory in both lecture and COMMONS MILE lab classes - but you can zone out during his classes and because you're stuck in the lab for an hour and a half, you can finish all your homework there.
Harden is a pretty useless teacher. He tries but he just isn't good at it. Go to his class just for your attendance grade. Make sure you attend breakout sessions and complete all the homework. The class itself isn't too hard but you're basically teaching yourself
Professor Harden is very reliant on online coursework. He teaches very little in an actual class, doesn't offer advice, and is generally rather awkward. I'm thankful the online coursework is so concise, otherwise I'd be completely lost. His "baby" at the university is the Commons MILE, a math lab he oversees where students are required to do work.
Easily the worst class I've ever taken. If you like paying tuition to teach yourself how to use Excel and read a virtual textbook in a math lab, this class is for you. Harden struggles to get through example questions during lectures, often inputting the wrong numbers or clicking the wrong boxes. Likes to repeat himself ad nauseam. Just terrible.
When you take statistics with Harden, be prepared to be able to learn the material yourself. His lectures will not help you, nor are they interactive enough to help you learn at all. When another teacher comes in to help review for the test, PAY ATTENTION! She is the who will actually help you learn and understand everything.
The class is online, but you have to time in for 70 minutes for attendance, so I recommend taking it online. The lectures are hard to actually pay attention to. I wish I knew the class was going to be online, because the attendance policy is annoying and counts as part of grade.
Professor Harden tries to help his students by reviewing the lessons. However, it's hard to gain any knowledge of the lessons when he continually makes mistakes himself everytime we have a review. If you want help, you should ask the student assistants not him. Be prepared to have a study group for his class you'll need it.
This is a course where you learn by yourself. I never once listened to any of his or the assistant's lectures and passed with an A+. Students are required to log 70 minutes in the system everyday and are allowed three absences throughout the entire semester. The course is online and all grades come from the online textbook.

To get an A+ you should depend on your self and watch youtube videos, Chegg website or you wont pass .
If you would like to take him you should expect to 100% depend on yourself. To pass this course, you should focus more on the non-credit test review, the practice vids, and the summary for each chapter.
I thought professor Harden was actually good we had him along with the TA's for any help. While he lectured on certain topics and not all, I believe it was enough for most of us to get by. Definitely read the online book. This class is an easy A because there were 100 tries to complete each homework assignment and step by step video for each exam.
Really difficult class, and he does not make it easier. I would defiantly rethink this professor choice if you already have signed up. He is nice, but as far as teaching I would pick someone else.
This is an practically an online class that you're forced to attend. The in class "lectures" are pointless and tedious as you're already looking over the online textbook in class. Everyone moves along at their own pace and you'll have to depend on yourself. Donald Harden is extremely boring and not helpful with the lectures. Find another professor.
Simple and easy class if youre good at math. Hes really boring and just recites what the textbook says. Everyone moves at their own pace which I liked.
Donald's lectures are more practice work for upcoming tests and quizzes than help on the current course work, but theres tons of opportunity for more help if you need it. Most the tests were repeat questions from test reviews and your provided with videos that work you through every problem in the review so passing is simple.
Easy class to get an A in he's just really boring and unresponsive.
This class was not entirely terrible. You are kind of on your own but are offered student helpers and helpful mini-lesson videos. If you cannot effectively discipline your time for this class, pick something else. We had some pretty boring -yet informative- zoom calls, but most of the learning comes from the online textbook.
hes an awful lecturer. stretches explanations and does not explain topics clear enough to understand at all. word of advice: AVOID!!!
There is a lot of reading and homework assignments. There are graded attendance surveys and quizzes. The tests weren't too bad because of the non-credit test reviews in OLI and the test review videos. Most of the test questions are similar to the questions from the test reviews.
It was very lengthy homework assignments every week so it consumes a lot of your time. The teacher post weekly videos but they are boring and long winded. The best help in this class are the test reviews the TA does for every test which will help you get an A on the test but reviews are about 100 questions. Teacher is not understanding or lenient.
Uses a course software and expects students to learn from that. Your grade is your grade no matter what errors are shown. Very tough on students as I was sick and had to go to administration for professor Harden to give me an extension, he believed "being bedridden while sick still allows you to do work." Highly advise against this professor/course

There are a few tests (1 with an answer sheet), around 18 quizzes (multiple attempts), and a final that replaces the lowest test. Since the questions are the exact same as those in the lecture, you won't pass if you skip class; ask him to post the virtual lectures! Memorize/Understand the formulas, practice with the quizzes, and you'll get an A.
Professor Harden is not a good teacher. He simply reads theory exactly as it is stated in the book and does not help grow an understanding of the topic. Pay attention to examples and be ready to use YouTube, they do a much better job there. He also makes many tests take home: students pass but don't learn.
Professor Harden is not as bad as people say. He's very accessible outside of class and very understanding. You are more than good if you pay attention to class and do the reading assignments + checkpoints, and test reviews is an easy class! there are 3 tests and a final; everything in the test is the same as in the test reviews.
He was very arrogant and very full of himself. This is elementary stats, a class that is not that difficult, and yet he makes it hard to pass. The test are conditions are inhumane, it could get overwhelming. He does not offer partial credit and you have to "impress" him in order for him to even consider it. I will be contacting the dean!
Had for biostats. Do not recommend at all. Does lectures on Webex using a pdf doc and excel and does not have legible handwriting at all. Uses webassign which already is a red flag and it is not helpful since there is no feedback. office hours are not helpful since he just diverts people and tells them to read the book.
This is actually probably one of the worst professors I have ever dealt with in my life's He scribbles on Webex to the point where you can't understand what he's writing, he's not understanding when you want to talk to him about your grades, and his TA's plays around and laughs with one another so it's not strictly help. I'm sick of this class!
Uses a online textbook, easy course, and goes over test questions in class. The test questions are directly from the test review, so just do your test reviews, checkpoints, readings, and it a easy grade. Lectures are good and give class time to work on the checkpoints.
He simply sucks honestly. He explains the work to you like you were already supposed to know it before you came into the door. The only good thing is that there are opportunities for extra credit on the online textbook and the test review questions are exactly like the test. So study hard and you got this !

This professor is very rude and full of himself. Would not recommend. Learning should not be this unapproachable for Elem Stat.
This instructor does not explain things well. He is also not engaging with his students. Due to his inflexibility, if you cannot get your question answered during class time or during his office hours, it is likely you will not get your question answered. Extra credit and tips on how to do better are not offered or invited upon inquiry.
