The class seems easy, most of his material IS easy, but no matter how hard I studied or did not study, I got straight 74's for all his tests. Kinda makes me wonder.

Very simple material but goes out of his way to make questions tricky. All other PSYCH professors were nicer, fairer, and much much better teachers. What a jerk. Avoid him.

Ok, so PSY 100 is supposed to be relatively easy, right? With Hayes, that's not true... He seems to try and make it a weeder course; if you're not a PSY major, he's out to get you... He has no personality and no drive to teach.

Guess I'm the oddball. He doesn't know me personally, I'm just finishing the class. The study guide is extremely helpful, and if you go to class and pay attention it seems relatively easy. So far all A's, do don't worry too much.

this guy knows his stuff! He uses plenty of examples to get his point across too. He lets you know what is precisely on the tests and he gives you an answer key after, so you can see where you went wrong. Great guy.

a lot of people that will say not to take him but honestly I thought he was clear, concise, and genuinely cared about his students. Pretty good with names and doesnt ignore student questions and concerns. I'd take him again.

ignore the comments that say this teacher is out to get you, thats not possible when the tests are machine graded, some people like to blame the teacher when they failed a test they didnt study for

SUCKED AT TEACHING! I could not stand to even sit in class to try to understand because it got me now where. He mummbled and went off on tanjants and always used the chalk board and we just very unclear with what he wanted out of the class

He is awful. I am a psych major, and if you want to get a good grade, take it with another professor. I understood everything, and studied my butt off for the tests. I still only got a D. My advice, he should stop teaching.

Dude this guy is a jerk. Basically for our class, the class avg. was a 55. He failed 95 out of his 97 students. He didn't show up to many classes and would test us on things from his own life which was not in the text nor anywhere we could find.

He does a very good job restating definitions and making an outline on the bored. If you go to class and pay attention (which is the point)then anyone can do just fine.

Not to be mean but his lisp or whatever his speech impediment is was too much for me. I couldn't understand a thing he said half the time and no matter how well rested I was I wanted to fall asleep during the lecture. He was really nice and caring though.

terrible professor.when my advisor found out that he was my pro. she rolled her eyes.I studied for hours and could never manage better than a D. first 10 test questions are from the book,but the rest come from information never discussed,or not in book.

Very nice, interesting and helpful. He is organized and lets you know exactly what you need to study. After a test, he returns it to you with the page numbers of the information. It's a little challenging but if you go to class and study, gold!

This guy sucks, loves the word UMMMMMM says it a million times per class. Tests barely cover the test book so you better go to class. I got an F and I usually get B/A's in all of my other classes.

Very good at saying and restating important info so you can take it down in notes. All test material is either A) DIRECTLY from the study guide B) very specifically from his lecture or C) part of the reading. So DO ALL THREE. You get used to the "umm"s, so get over it!

He is boring. Even if you get A's and B's in all your other classes, you will probabaly get a D in his. Read the book but it won't do much good. You might get a C. And what is up with those polo sweatshirts?

I did not care for his teaching style or the class. Looks down on non-psychology majors and enjoys poking fun at those in the class who got a bad grade. Overall terrible professor. Some of his lectures were interesting but the book is a freak show in print-truly not an interesting experience.

Can't remember the course number (was a year ago, just found the site) - Child Psychology. Said 'um' 'uh' or other variants 140 times in a 50 minute class period. Tested on names and dates, not relevant information covered in class.

Gives really good lectures and puts an outline on the board at the beginning of class. Wicked nice guy. Kind of hard tests, but as long as you aren't a dumb ass you'll be fine.

PSY 100 is not an interesting class to begin with but I think Hayes did the best he could with the material. He added his own stories and usually had an example to go along with what he was teaching. I found the tests difficult but if you pay attention and review the study guide (he takes questions directly from it) then you will do fine

Very interesting class. Hayes gives a lot of examples which are fun and useful. If you want more than C in this class go to lectures and TAKE NOTES. He does not lie when telling that 50% of the material in the tests is from notes.

Once I got used to his teaching style, I really enjoyed this class. A lot of the test questions are straight from the practice quizzes in the Study Guide book. If you attend class, take notes, and do the practice quizzes, you should do really well!

This class is confusing and dry. Hayes rambles a lot, and tells very strange stories that are useless. No powerpoint, but he uses weird outlined scribbles on the chalkboard. Good thing is- the text book is useless. BUY THE STUDY GUIDE!

Hands down the most interesting class I've ever taken. Tests are half lecture and half textbook derived so it takes a bit of reading. Hayes always has an interesting experiment to do or statistic to tell you. Highly recommended.

He is awful. His lessons were poorly planned & exams designed for failure. Didnt do well on his exams & I expressed my concerns. His response was defensive & he encouraged me to drop out of college. Following semester. Took the same class w/ another professor & got a 4.00. I went on to grad w/ a 3.89 GPA, & I currently hav a 4.00 GPA in grad sch.

Worst teacher I have had to date. I am an A/B student, but ended up getting a D in this class even though I attended every lecture. He has an extremely ineffective teaching style, and his tests are awful. Worst teacher ever.
