There is no reason to buy the textbook, as the slides and lectures are all that's tested on the lecture exams. He is dry, but very knowledgeable. Attendance is mandatory, but I suggest you come anyway, because what he discusses in class ends up as questions on exams (which aren't really hard, just MC, but require paying attention/studying).
4 tests MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND CLASS AND TAKE NOTES ON LECTURE, his slides reflective on tests
Super easy class to earn an A. 4 exams, all multiple choice, between 25-40 questions. Professor drops the lowest grade. He's awesome! Exams are mostly based on slides and his lecture. Textbook helps to sharpen comprehension of the material but unnecessary for exam prep.
Good class professor drops the lowest grade and the tests are based on his slides and lectures
Easy A. Show up to class, simply pay attention and study the slides. The recitation is very easy as well. The overall grade was averaged to an eighty.
All you have to do for his class is read the slides, study them, and the exams are yours to conquer.
He's an okay professor. Study the slides and textbook.
DON'T TAKE HIM!!!!!!! Terrible grader on the final letter grade!!!!!
The beginning of the class went well. I got 90+ on my assignments. However, the final grade for the class came out to be a B+. I emailed him asking why my grade was so low when I did so well on my assignments and I got a confusing response. I am still unclear about why I received the grade I did. I was just unhappy & confused w/ his grading system
The class is based off multiple choice tests so if you suck at that then it's really hard to do well. I struggled because a lot of his questions were tricky and I'm not a good test taker. He also has a lot of questions from the lectures so you can't miss that. For the final I was lucky he gave us the questions otherwise I woulda gotten an A-.
If you're interested in the class "The Life and Business Experiences of Donald Krueger," then take him. If you're interested in Business, don't. Not sure why the Honors kids get stuck with him.
Krueger's class is pretty dry, and very PowerPoint reliant. Overall, he's a knowledgeable, monotonous, occasionally offensive, experienced guy. If you memorize his PowerPoints and listen to his life stories you'll be fine, because that's basically all you need to know for his tests.
Good class, do your work and read the PowerPoints and you'll get good grades on the tests. Read them IN-DEPTH, tests are on the PowerPoints and general class exaamples. Lectures can drone on a little bit because he speaks a little monotone. Things got interesting a few times though, pretty much depends on what you're interested in. Nice guy.
This class was pretty pointless. No need to show up, just study the slides and notes that are on them at the bottom very well and you should be ok. As for Krueger, he is very monotonous and often said offensive things. Even though its not too hard to do well, if you can avoid taking his class, I recommend it.
Literally just read the slides. That's all. All his tests are based on the slides.
He has slides for every single lecture and there are notes under each slide so you don't miss much. Four tests, drops the lowest. No quizzes. No textbook. His tests are from the slides. If you listen to what he says, the wording on the test is the same. Attendance is never taken in class. Just need a code he mentions but copy someone else's code.
This class is test heavy. Barely hear his lecture in his class due to low voice. Would definitely not take him again
He is an okay Professor for an Intro class, but he give more in depth with the lecture. Just study the slides that's all you have to do to do well in his class. Drop the lowest grade out of the four exam. The final wouldn't be all the information from day one, just two lecture ago until the last day of class, not painful.
He's alright. He has a very low voice so its best to sit in the front. He posts the slides and gives topics for the tests so just study the slides and you'll get a good grade. You don't necessarily have to show up to the lectures cuz he gives an attendance code and you sign in via blackboard so you can just get the code from someone.
Refused to show me the math on my overall grade, on the 3 tests i got a 94, 103, and 100. I got an 87 in the recitation and ended up with an A-. Easy class, but he does some crooked math. Also he is super boring
He speaks kind of low and is hard to hear regardless of where you sit. He's a decent professor but not amazing by any standards. His grading criteria is pretty fair but it is important to note that if you don't pay attention in his lectures, which are boring, you will probably have to buy the textbook
He claims its a department curve, but somehow other lectures fail to even know about the curve. Only about 10 students out of 260 received an A. Out of all my classes ever taken in Baruch I have never received a B, not even in micro. It was rather disappointing and his tests are overly specific, where many students cheat to get better scores.
I had 60s on my physics tests, I thought I was going to fail the class but my physics professor gave me a C. Dont worry if you mess up on the first or second exam. -Donald K. Class is dull; his voice WILL make you go to sleep. Exams are from lecture. Its more of memorizing than learning. Got 80s on most exam. Expected a B but got a C+
It doesn't matter where you sit, whether be the first row or last row, you will not hear what he says at all. Tests are heavily based on his lecture but he sends his lectures out on Blackboard. This class is not inspiring at all, it's just memorization of his slides. A textbook is an option if you want to learn not memorize. Loves Warren Buffet!!
Prof kruegar is honestly a pretty understanding professor who is fair with grades. Just study his powerpoints and you will be fine. For exams he allows you to bring in notes so you are good.
Lectures are very boring. Do not really need to show up to them since he posts the notes online. May be good to read the textbook sometimes but not necessary. Just don't forget to verify your attendance!!! Seriously
Horrible and boring lectures. Professor manages attendance with online system that anyone could easily figure the code to sign in. All exams are based on his lecturers so there's no point in showing up anyways. He refuses to look at the student's point of view and doesn't care.
Easy A class if you just show up and understand the material. Speaks really low so make sure to sit in the front. He is open to questions, cares about the material so he wants to see students succeed but you have to put the effort it. If you pay attention in lectures and study a little, it's easy to get an A.
He is the most boring prof/person I have ever met! I waisted my semester. I do not like study on my own, I prefer to learn from someone. He is not your guy for that. Not inspirational, lectures putting you to sleep! If you are comfortable remembering dry info from hundreds of slides by yourself, be my guest
Kind and funny professor who attempts to make his lectures interesting! Mentions stuff not in the slides, so if you think it's worth, come and take notes on what he says. Krueger's tests are simple and forwardly based on the lecture slides, which is shared between all the business lecture professors. Can do just fine not coming to class, however.
His lectures are pretty boring and he just reads off the powerpoint. The tests are just based off the powerpoints and he gives reviews so there's no reason to really go to class. The class itself is made up of 4 exams and he takes the highest 3. The class is pretty easy if you just do the reviews.
Grading policy makes no sense very boring lectures tests things not mentioned in class or slides
Grade is based on 4 exams, but he drops the lowest, and you have to show up for the final. The questions on the exams are based on his slides and what he said in class. Just listen to what he said and his wording bc that'll be on the exams.
He is a very nice and thoughtful person. His lectures are boring and he repeats everything that's on the powerpoint. You could consider it easy because the tests are based on his powerpoints but you definitely have to study and memorize! He drops the lowest grade which is great!
Don't know why people hate on my boy THE DON so much, but hes a good guy. All you need to do is look at his powerpoints and memorize the slides. He is extremely boring so save yourself the trouble and skip class! I did this and consistently got A's. Put some respect on THE DON's name lol.
He's an alright professor. Very long and heavy lecture. He tends to go off topic a lot. All you need to know is to MEMORIZE ALL of the slides from his ppt in order to get a 100 on his exams.
Lecture heavy SO pay attention. You can't ONLY memorize the ppt's bc some slides are just images and to understand, you need to listen. You can't hear him all the time, but let him know and he'll try to speak louder. 4 tests, 1 gets dropped. The textbook (good reference) but not necessary: archive. org/details/UnderstandingBusinessByNickels
this class is ONLY graded by 4 non cumulative tests (lowest of the 4 gets dropped), and 1/3 of the total grade is business recitation class grade. not my favorite subject tbh and he moved really fast. the tests are almost entirely based off of the lectures and slides, but if you don't pay attention or don't understand, it's hard to stay on track.
Lectures are pretty boring, but he'll make some funny jokes here and there. Tests are super easy. So many questions are just based on logic. Just pay attention in class and take notes on what he says NOT WHAT IS ON THE SLIDES because the slides are available online. Review the slides with the notes that you took and it's an easy A.
I got 34/40 for both 1st and 2nd exams, but got the highest grade in the whole class on 3rd exam and PRETTY SURE I have 1 wrong in the final. I have 95 for recitation grade and still end up with A- in his class? Not sure how he did his math. Will take again because it's literally common sense and will definitely not learn math from him.
Always had a hard time hearing him with his microphone and lectures were boring but the class itself was pretty easy. Just make sure you memorize the powerpoint for his tests. There's three tests (drops the lowest one) and a final and all of them are multiple choice.
All exam questions come straight from the slides. Monotone speaker. The course itself is can be overwhelming, especially if you're new to anything business. No need to buy the textbook. There are 4 exams (including final), he drops your lowest. Can be an easy A if you force yourself to listen.
Keeps calm during immense pressure.
He's trying really hard, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic going on. Students are abusing his online classes, spamming unnecessary content and he remains level headed/calm.
He is great. If you need any further help, he gotchu.
Great guy, knows his stuff
He reads the PPT slides and adds confusing comments that will later be test questions. He is probably a nice person deep down, but you should avoid him as a professor. Honestly, avoid this class altogether. Take Intro to Business at another school. Just take e-permits for most of the Baruch business classes.
Lectures are boring and everything on the test are in the PowerPoint. The class is an easy pass however getting an A isnt that easy. Theres a stupid rule where the class average has to be an 80 so that means if you score high, theres a possibility hes going to curve down your grade which is what he did this semester.
His class is boring, you won't learn anything really, but it's an EASY A. All you need to do is read the slides and you should do fine. It helps to have the slides out and take notes during the lecture to retain the info better, but to each his own. Attendance is "mandatory" but you can fake attendance if someone gives you the code for blackboard
Nice guy. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His exams are based on his lectures and slides (easy). Attendance matters to him and the book is helpful but not required.
The professor is knowledgable within the field but I found it hard to learn because I was too busy transcribing what he lectured into my notes. I personally did not learn much about business that would stick with me because there was too much information delivered in a not very engaging way. He was a nice old guy though.
Don was an okay professor. He clearly knows a lot but is limited by the textbook in terms of what he teaches. Lectures can be a little dry but make sure you listen because he asks questions on the exam about things he brings up in class. Make sure you know the PPTs. 4 non-cumulative exams, takes the best 3 scores.
His lectures were boring. I had trouble paying attention at first because I was busy writing down the slides, but eventually I stopped taking notes and would refer back to his recorded lectures (I took this class online). His exams are easy. Just read the slides and listen to his recorded lectures. Overall, he's a nice and knowledgeable guy.
Professor Krueger is a great professor who is very knowledgeable in this course. There are just 3 tests (the lowest grade is dropped) and 1 final. All of the questions are based upon the lecture, so be sure to take note of what he says during class time. Krueger also posts the lectures on youtube and gives study guides which is a plus.
Bruh how is the percent of people who would take Krueger again currently only 32%? This guy is super chill and the tests are all multiple choice, relatively easy. He's also pretty funny at times but not everyone catches his low-key jokes. Smh what is everyone on this page complaining about??????
The 2.7 rating scared me, but he's honestly not that bad. Our grade is just a few quizzes (he calls the exams "quizzes") and attendance (he gives a code at the end of each lecture). He's not the intimidating type of profs, more like those nice, caring ones. The materials in class is a bit lengthy, but he gives a review sheet for every test.
He's very chill and is open to questions about anything pertaining to business. There are 4 quizzes that are easy to pass if you take notes on the lecture however there is a grading curve where the class average needs to be an 80. Just watch the lectures and take notes and you'll do great in the class.
Chill professor. He just reads off his slides and his test/quizzes come from there exactly. Tries to be funny at times. A pretty easy class. He does curve grades to a B or a low 80, hence why my final grade is a B+, although I got above 90's on everything. He's an interesting guy with cool stories and he's well connected. He talked to Steve Jobs
Very nice guy. A genius in this subject, he knows everything inside and out. Not one of those business professors teaching you about business whose businesses have failed, hes actually out there. 4 tests all from the powerpoints, just copy notes. Weekly attendance discussion board, no homework at all. Definitely take
Professor Krueger is a nice professor. He clearly knows a lot about the subject but he assumes we already have SOME background info on business before he starts which makes things a little confusing at first. We had 3 quizzes and the final exam. Pay attention to the lecture and go over the slides to do well on his tests. Class is easy just boring.
Super nice guy, has a lot of business experience that he talks about in addition to slides. 4 tests (final exam isn't cumulative), no homework, no papers, just show up to lectures (he posts the slides but also includes examples he says in class, so pay attention), and weekly attendance code to post to a discussion board. Definitely recommend!
He's a really nice guy. He's very knowledgeable about business. He shares the slides before class, makes a study guide for his tests, there are only 3 exams and one final. The final isn't cumulative.
Take him for an easy A! All you got to do is listen. Thats it. 3 tests, one final. All are non cumulative. Class can be a bit boring, but he knows what hes talking about. And he upload PowerPoint, so you can always go back and read.
Definitely an easy class, and he's a good professor. Lectures can get boring sometimes but all the exams are based on what he talks about in class. All exams are online and not cumulative. All you gotta do is listen and take notes. He's very knowledgeable about business.
This professor is an easy A, but just be prepared for long lectures and lots of notes. Overall, it is very easy to do good in his class, but getting an A+ can be rather hard because of the exams. Krueger is your best choice for BUS2000
The reviews about prof krueger are honestly unrealistic. His lectures are extremely boring; he is not engaging and just babbles a lot. There are 4 exams, and he considers the 4th one to be a "final". He became extremely strict with my class because of the cheating scandals that occurred during the fall semester and projected that onto our class.
I think this professor was pretty average for me, his lectures aren't very interesting but you need to take notes from them to do good on these exams. In total there's 4 exams, the 4th one being the final and he drops one of the grades so there is a way to bounce back from a bad grade, along with your recitation class of course.
Attendance is mandatory, at the end of each lecture there's a code given by him to verify attendance. Gives quizzes every couple of weeks. In terms of his lectures, he tends to ramble a lot but is much better compared to other LEC professors for BUS 2000. Prof Kreuger is your best bet for this course.
His lectures are long but very manageable as he uploads his recording so you can write your notes later. Don't cheat because he takes it seriously and will reward those who tell him, so be aware. Overall, nice professor, take him!
Professor Krueger is great. Very long lectures but interesting and simple. Posts the lecture and powerpoints but requires attendance. 4 quizzes online in total for the entire semester and no homework. Pretty simple class. Just study hard and you'll be fine.
Amazing professor; very knowledgable. 4 exams, lowest gets dropped. Make study guides, write notes, you'll do fine in this class.
Very knowledgeable and interesting professor. I'm not even exaggerating, he knows literally everything about business.
He is a very knowledgeable and passionate professor. The lectures are really long but very informative and clear. He posts the lecture recordings and PowerPoint slides so you can review them before the exams. Also, he gives you study guides for all four exams. He even drops your lowest exam grade. There is no homework, just exams, so work hard.
Took him summer semester. His class is very lecture heavy and his tests are based on the lecture. I would avoid missing his lectures because a lot of the questions on his tests are comments that are not included on his slides.
Used to be online but prob changed after Spring'22. You get a "quiz" after every 4 lectures, so roughly every 2-3 weeks of the semester (On quiz day, there is no lecture). If you don't take notes, you're screwed. He used to post recordings for the absent students, but I don't recommend skipping to watch videos later, b/c it will become a bad habit.
Graded by 4 mc quizzes. He drops lowest of first 3. He posts the slides,so I didn't show up all semester. Attendance is mandatory but if you get someone to send you an empty seat number and attendance code, then you don't have to go. He may ask a few questions on the quiz based on things he said in class, but not enough to effect your grade.Easy A.
He is a good professor but I would not take him again because of the fact that he speaks so low and you really have to pay attention. The lectures are long and very boring but in order to pass take notes in class, it will make your life so much easier. As others said, there are quizzes every 3-4 lectures he drops the lowest one.
I had Professor Krueger last spring semester and I have to say he isn't as good as other reviewers are saying he is. My only complaint is that sometimes the test questions are confusing because he doesn't check his grammar and this caused me and other students to get low scores on the tests. I'm just glad I passed in the end.
he explains things rly well, but sometimes it can get boring which isnt rly his fault. i enjoyed his class and i think it'll be helpful outside of college. i probably could have done better if i put in effort but the class itself isnt something that u should be worried about too much. take him if u can
Very understanding professor. You need to attend his lectures to pass this course. His lectures are really good. Take notes of any and every thing he says because anything can come on the exams. You get 4 exams, the 4th is the final and he only takes the two highest grades from exams 1-3.
this is the class that made me realize i want nothing to do with business
4 quizzes, the lowest gets dropped. However, the quizzes are all very easy and if you pay attention to the lecture, you'll do good. I recommend reading the textbook because it goes into more depth on the topics covered in the lecture. He is an interesting professor and knows a lot about business.
He's a really nice guy and is very laid back. All the quizzes were easy to study for, just the material in the slides, and there wasn't any homework. An easy class overall.
Great Professor but very lecture heavy. Grades are based off quizzes and the final is also a quiz. Overall pretty easy.
SIT IN THE FRONT, or you might not hear his voice. take note of whatever he said, he really put most his words in the exams
Knowledgeable, chill, and passionate. Graded on 3 quizzes, drops lowest, and a final, all based on his lectures so its best to take notes. Curves grade to a B-
Attendance is mandatory. Just memorize the powerpoints (definitions, acronyms, company names, random names of people) that he gives out and you'll do fine on the exams its so easy.
A lot of the stuff on his tests is based on things he said in class and not on the PowerPoint, which you can guess wasn't good cause his lectures are so long and boring that you can't help but sleep. He's a good teacher and a good guy. he HATES cheaters so be careful, he shows no mercy
Avoid. Does not care about teaching only cares about students cheating. His mcq quizzes are straight forward from the slides, but he throws in nasty questions like What did I not mention in class" "What was the last thing I said in lecture 3" and questions are so specific and is completely memory based. Not a good person. Def the worst BUS2000 prof
If you're good at memorizing a lot of information, take him. All the quiz answers are taken straight from the slides and the lowest of the first three are dropped. Okay professor, you can barely hear him half the time but he's passionate about what he does.
really boring professor, but not a very difficult class have to listen to him when he talks because some questions are based off of what he says in class not slides, maybe 5/40 questions all tests are multiple choice, which is very nice
4 quizzes and drops the lowest one. 2/3 of ur grade. Must pay attention to the lectures if you want to pass the quizzes. Sit in the front of the class if you want to hear his voice better. Good Luck!
3 quizzes + final. 1 quiz drop. Some questions are based on specific things he says, not in the slide. If you want an A overall in BUS 2000 (Lecture + Recitation) you have to do well in this class. If you are not in like the top 5% you probably won't get an A due to Baruch's 80/82 curve. If you help your peers, you are making your own grade suffer.
Four MC quizzes, drop lowest. All questions come from lectures, so it's very important to attend. He was the CEO of hedge fund before he retired; he knows EVERYTHING about the business world and loves to talk about it if you ask him questions.
he is great; however, the quizzes are not fair at all. The class is more about memorizing rather than actually learning the material. Puts random questions in the tests, just to see if you paid attention to a 2-hour class. also very unfair that people who missed the quiz with a reason, get to take it online, I hope he fixes that!
He seems really kind and knows a lot about the business world but his class can get a bit boring. The quizzes are entirely based on memorizing slides and random information he mentions during the 2 hour lecture.
Extremely easy memorization-based quizzes that you could probably study for an hour before class and ace. No textbook, all course material is based on his own slides. However the lectures are VERY long and hard to sit through, even tho Prof is a pretty cool guy and has interesting anecdotes.
Chill dude, mostly just sat while speaking and tried to keep the class entrained by dropping random stuff. One time he mentioned how steve jobs yelled at it. Attendance is mandatory, no homework, only 3 tests and a final.
He yaps a lot and while the topics are not too difficult it is hard to get through his class without falling asleep or entertaining yourself. He likes to show support for Donald Trump because they share a first name. He claims to have a lot in BTC so I don't know why he is 70 something years old teaching at Baruch
Three quizzes are given with the lowest grade dropped and a departmental final. His lectures are easy to zone out on, but the slides are easy to follow. Krueger answers questions fairly well and wants to encourage student curiosity. Attendance is mandatory, but the slides and review sessions are really all that you need.
While the professor's lectures can drag on, the class is fairly straightforward. Quizzes focus on memorizing slides and lecture details, so attending is crucial. unstuckstudy was a great study aid alongside the provided slides.
