Tests are example-based and tough if you don't study. Case Study is tough.
Very caring and understanding man. Gives excellent notes!

INTERESTING. EASY TO LISTEN TO. KNOWLEDGABLE. MAKES IT REALLY EASY TO TAKE NOTES AND LEARN MATERIAL.
He has such a soothing voice! Easy to take notes and lots of class discussion. The tests can be tricky unless you know the stuff. The case study is a pain, but lets you apply everything you learn in the class. I recommend him.
Just pay attention and you will do okay. Also be prepared to write a huge paper. He is a great teacher!
He is one of the nicest and most helpful professors I have had. His lectures can get a little long, but the course is not overloaded with work. There is only really one big project, and if you really do your best he gives you a good grade.
This class is laid back. Take good notes and study them. Materials are easy and interesting. I didn't have to do a big paper for this class because of the class size. There's only 3 exams for this class and a few small papers that are only a page long.
This class is pretty easy. You don't need the book, just take notes and study them. His tests are easy and he takes everything from the lectures he gives. Only a couple 1 page papers. That's it! His lectures are informative and very interesting.
How are the tests for his class????do we need the book or is it note based??
I wish all my teachers were like him. He is so nice and understanding. He teaches the information well. I learned a lot from him and the class was easy.
EXCELLENT TEACHER! HIGHLY RECOMMEND His notes are very organized and clear.Tests are note based.ONly 1-2 test questions come from the book. (dont' buy the book) There were 4 1pg papers- very easy to complete. He's very understanding!
Very laid back prof (but very well groomed - ha ha!). Super flexible and easy - grades on a curve. DON'T BUY THE BOOKS - tests are all from lecture notes (and he provides the outlines for note taking).
He is a great professor everyone should take him. YOu don't need the book but you do have to go to class. Test based on lecture and he gives you handouts to help with taking notes.
Don't buy book, just show up for class and take clear notes. Tests are not difficult but go in prepared. Highly recommend.
This was one of my favorite classes taken at State! Don't buy the book, tests are based on his lectures. If you ever need help he is always there for his students. Take his class!
This class was so easy and I loved the way he lectured. Very clear and easy to understand. He tells you exactly what's going to be on the test. I highly recommend Dr. Myers!
This is one of the best classes I have ever taken. He teaches great and makes the class very interesting. You need to go to class but can miss every once in awhile, take notes and you never need to read anything.
Very kick back teacher. very lenient. Papers are easy. There was about 10 1 page papers. You're not graded on them they are Credit no credit and are worth an entire exam. He's super nice and I dont know why but I think he is hot haha. Anyway, he's an awesome teacher, easy and interesting class.
Awsome teacher!!!
Great Teacher! Very interesting class and very understanding guy. Let us out early almost every time, a few short papers that were cr/nc only. Show up to class and it's an easy A. He does take attendence that is counted in with the papers as one test grade.
honestly this class isn't too bad..but watch out for his tests..especially when they ask for specifics...like the % of avoidant attachment or...months when babies start to walk..those always got me!
Good teacher, somewhat monotone, but easy and clear. Sometimes he would go off course bcuz he entertains anyones questions. People ask some random personal stuff, and next thing u know we are so off topic, and wasting valuable time we could be using to learn all the stuff for the test. Really study 4 tests w/study guides he gives.
An easy A. His exams are straight from the lecture and he curves the tests. Its interesting material but some students would use the period for their personal therapy session because he's a psychologist.
He's a very nice professor. His voice is soothing, so if you have a tendency of falling asleep, it'll be difficult to stay awake. The class itself was fairly straight forward. Myers didn't always follow the syllabus, but it wasn't difficult to stay on track.
this class isnt too bad..only i would have to say he took awhile to grade our assignments..never really sure about what our grade in the class was..but overall ..great professor..i'm still waiting on the grades from last semester...
3 tests, attendance is taken, and occasional one page papers that he accepts merely for credit. Really soothing voice that makes me sleepy esp. for his 12:30 class. He says his tests are 80% lecture, 20% from the reader, but it's more like 95% lecture and 5% reader. Tests have 45 questions. Always lets out about 15 mins early.
Easy, lay back class. Very easy to follow. He gives you the outline you just fill it up with the lecture. Some reading of articles related to topics. Three midterms and occasional one-page papers on analyzing your own family and self. Very good class. Really enjoyed class and teacher.
this is a great class and a great teacher. i honestly never minded going to class and it was easy to pay attention. the material in interesting and he is easy to listen to. super laid back.
He's really nice. Its easy to pay attention, and it's not a pain to come to class. He gives you everything you need to pass the class..I really liked him, as a professor. best teacher of sdsu..so far
Hes a very nice teacher. Just study your study guides, that he provdies for you. Easy class, go to class everyday. Majority of his tests are from his lecture. Hes laid back and a great person. I ADVICE YOU TO TAKE HIS CLASS!
*HE IS WONDERFUL!!* His class was interesting and I learned a lot. He has a calming voice and I liked that a lot. =) He provides note sheets for his lectures and study guides for exams too... he is VERY nice! I recommend him a lot!! He is the BEST professor I had so far!! =D You'll not regret taking this class for sure.
This class was so easy. He gives you worksheets and then you just follow his lecture and takes notes! He basically tells you what's on it and the papers are a joke, I think he feels like he needs to assign them to people that don't understand what's going on in class. He looks just like Clint Eastwood!!He has an extremely calming voice and makes yo
Pretty easy class. Short scantron exams. Tests are mostly from lectures, so come to class and take good notes. He gives study guides for exams. A few assigments - mostly reflections on lessons from class.
This class is cool. He gices out handout for every lecture which akes it easy to study. I never read the book and got a good grade. Attendance is mandatory. Papers are SO easy. The only problem for me is that his voice is so calm and relaxing it really does put you to sleep so have a cofe efore class if your the sleepy type.2 test, final,3-4 papers
Great teacher! deffinatly take this class!
He is GREAT! easy and short tests, Go to lectures (he takes attendance) and take good notes, read the study guide. he is very helpful and interesting. the most calm, soothing voice that puts you in a good mood. he puts on oprah in class for you a lot and says he sits around eating bon bons all day, or so we should think! haha
make sure you tell him way in advance if you need info on your grades or anythings. i dont even know if he goes to his office hours, AND its very hard to get him to email you back or stick to his word about anything. BUT HE IS AN AMAZING TEACHER!! LIKE I JUST SAID :D
Easy class but you have to come everyday because he takes attendance. Two short tests straight from lecture and a few from the book. Even if you don't read book. You get full credit for the paper if you do them so no worries on trying to get an A
He is a great teacher! Take his class, I don't think you would be needing a book, plus its really expensive. Just go to lecture and take good notes.
I thought this would be an easy A, especially after these reviews, but def not. 100 pts for entire class. 3 28-pt tests and a couple papers. Sounds easy enough, but each ? you get wrong is a % off your grade. 1 bad test hurts you terribly. No class average, so it's hard to get an A. The grading sucks, take someone else.
Don't miss class because he always takes attendance. Take good detailed lecture notes & know the study guides for tests. Three 28-point unit exams & a few short 2 page papers. Each point is worth 1% of your overall grade. Very interesting class. One in awhile plays interesting videos & sometimes Oprah.
this class doesn't require a lot of work but it does require more studying than you think. it's hard to get an A when you only have 3 exams with 28 questions. you really have to know specifics. i didn't get the book & averaged Bs on the exams. i assume i could've gotten an A if i had read the text. overall, CFD 270 is interesting.
Not much effort needed. Tests are hard but grades on a curve. Extremely boring to listen to.
Dr. Myers makes this class pretty fun. His voice is so soothing and calming. He presents the material well and values his student's opinions. Attendance is mandatory but he usually cuts class short. Take him!
Dr. Myers is a great professor! I highly recommend you take any of his classes.
Teacher is ok. Kinda tricky on his tests. You have to know the little details of a lot but if you are interested in child and family development thats not hard to do. Gives LOTS of t&f questions on tests and a few writing projects. Fine class overall for 2 units.
This class is extremely easy! It's 50 mins. long and it always gets out early! Pure power point lectures the entire time. Take notes, do the mini assignments (there aren't many), and the multiple choice tests are a breeze. It does get a bit boring, but it's a very easy A.
Hands-down my favorite professor in the CFD department. If he's teaching the class, take it! Books aren't mandatory if you pay attention and take notes in class.
This class is so chill. You HAVE to attend and you HAVE to take notes, but you do not have to read. Plus, the class discussions make attending class fun. For real.
I have taken Myers twice, and would take him again if I could. He is hilarious, easy to talk to, and generates a lot of conversation in class. He is realistic with his expectations (the class is pretty easy) and understanding about different students' needs. The books are useful for the tests (esp in 560), as a lot of his material comes from them.
Class was pretty easy. consisted of two exams (each worth 40 pts) and one paper (20pts). His exams are okay, make sure you listen and take notes on the lectures. Paper is super easy, plus I don't think he actually reads them anyways. The paper is on early/emerging adulthood and ask you to write about a young adult with the aspects of development.
2 tests and 1 paper, both totally 100 points. This is the second time I've taken a summer class with him and I don't think he reads the papers. I barely put in any work and passed, tests are so easy. Only thing I don't like about him is he is near impossible to contact.
Super interesting class. Very easy, show up to every class. No essays. 3 exams. Take him!!
Interesting class topics, but not for the faint of heart. He goes into some things that are hard to talk about for most people, but also includes many facts that may change your perspective on some. 3 tests (25 points each) and 5 reflections (5 points each) determine your grade. The tests come straight from the lectures. Easy A.
Graded off two tests, 3 easy 5 point papers, and a 25 point 5 page paper. Super easy grader. Just listen to the lectures and take notes to use for the online exams. Easy A
Graded off two tests and one paper. Super easy grader. Listen and take notes on the lecture for the tests. Easy A
Tests are multiple choice/true false but not well written, it is easy to get confused. He requires 3 textbooks that you don't even need to read. All of his material is from lecture. The powerpoint slides just have terms on them and he fills in the material so you can't miss class. He makes you write essays but it is obvious he doesn't read them.
This class is only graded by a few things. 5 reflection papers and 3 tests. Reflection papers are easy and only 1 page double spaced. Tests are straight from the lecture, but there's some tricky close answers for some of them. I didn't read the book for tests and do fine from just the lectures. I used the book sometimes for reflections.
Dr. Myers is great! His online lectures are full of great information and test are all based on those.
This class is only graded by a few things. 5 reflection papers and 3 tests. Reflection Tests are straight from the lecture, but there's some tricky answers reading the power-points and notes will for sure bring you success
Class is out of 2 exams and 1 paper for a total of 100 pts. You don't really need the textbook because he provides so much info in his lecture, but its helpful for the stats used in the exam. Super easy class and very informative.
Such an easy course. No busy work. Weekly online lectures. Only graded by two exams and one paper. Generous curves. Lectures could be interesting.
This class is an easy A as long as you show up. He takes attendance every single class but usually just ends up reading off power points that are already posted. The class is graded off a few things, so it is important to do well on the small assignments he gives. He doesn't respond to emails so going to class and asking questions is beneficial.
Terrible online class. I hated his tests and there was no way to make up for doing poorly on them.
Class is only composed of two exams and one easy informal paper. Great curves and interesting material.
Such an amazing professor. I cannot stress how much I enjoyed this course, it has been one of my favorites. Show up, because if you miss more than two classes you will loose out on points. He is very passionate and has a lot of knowledge. His understanding on the course goes beyond any other professors bc of his additional work outside teaching.
I truly loved his lectures they didn't seem like they were from a script it all seemed like this was just stuff he knew and experienced. I have actually learned so much by just watching and hearing his videos/lectures. For 353C you have one paper to write and several exams but that is it.
I reviewed Myers incorrectly on WebPortal so this is my only real review: I didn't like this professor or his class at all. Your entire grade is based off 2 tests and 1 paper. So if your strength isn't in tests, take someone else. He also isn't accommodating to SASC students, I emailed him twice about extended test time and never received it.
He takes attendance and asks you to keep your camera on the whole time. He gave the lectures and Sanders was for the lab part of the class. He does have a term paper that you chose a disability and do research on it. As well as including your lab experience.
This was class was very interesting. It's only graded by 3 things, a midterm, final, and a paper. Lectures were posted online and I did not watch a single one. The midterm and final were easy because there was a groupme made and a doc shared with notes from someone who actually watched the lectures so I got good grade on tests by using that.
Did not watch a single lecture. Doc was made with good notes. Only two tests that were really easier if you watch the lectures or have a doc with good notes made by someone else. The essay was easy even though I did not know anything I just opened the book for the first time and it only took me a couple hours to write. Solid class
Boring when he lectures but TRUST ME, He is bearable for a semester. Had him for 3 of my classes and barely had work throughout his courses. Has a mid & Final. 590 has a term paper, START early and work incrementally! SUPER EASY A with bare minimum effort. He basically tells you what's on his exams prior to the exam. He does NOT respond to emails!
This class is only out of 100 points, so you don't really have any leeway to mess up. There is 5 essays (graded out of 5 points) and 5 tests (graded out of 25 points). He grades the essays pretty easy and the tests are not bad if you watch the lectures and read the textbook. The content is really interesting though, so I recommend!
There are 3 exams and 5 papers. Papers are super easy to do, 1-2 pages double spaced. Exams are a little tough cause the wording gets tricky. But as long as you write down every word from the lectures you should do fine. He curved every exam for us and add 2 extra points, very helpful! I enjoyed going through the material, very interesting.
Amazing and sweet professor. Lectures are interesting, just take good notes and pay attention during review since exams (2) can get wordy. Essays (3) are graded easily. He likes when ppl participate. Attendance is mandatory but you can email him. He cares a lot about mental health and will do meditations in class every now and then. 10/10 professor
Honestly, such an easy class. If you don't get the "A", its simply because you don't care. Only 3 exams that are curved and 5 easy topic reflection papers of only 1-2 pages each. The exam answers are basically handed to you through his lectures. Don't really need to read the book but I highly recommend just to get more information. Again, easy A.
I took this over the summer and it consisted of two exams and one paper. His modules are organized, so you know when an exam is coming up -def listen to lectures (very slow speaker, but all the info you'll need for the exam). He curved exams by adding extra pts. Good at emailing back, take advantage of reviewing the material with him!
I love professor myers!! He is so kind and always willing to help you if you need help. The class consists of 3 exams (watch the lectures, you need it to pass) and a few reflection papers which were super easy to write.
I LOVE MYERS! He is awesome and cool. This class consisted of 3 short journals, a midterm and final, and a term paper. The midterm/final is all from his lecture so take good notes and listen. Lectures can be boring but Myers is cool. Attendance is mandatory so go and take notes. Term paper is HEAVY though so start early and it is easy. He rocks!
Midterm and final all from his lectures. If you take good notes and pay attention you will be fine. A few easy journals. Lonnnggg term paper. Mine was 28 pages. Start early and do a section a week and its easy. Myers is great and funny. I learned a lot from him. Very caring and kind and will work with you.
Prof Myers was one of the best profs. He emailed back fast and was always understanding There are two exams and then the final. All questions are straight from lecture or textbook, no trick questions, all MC. 5 reflection papers throughout the semester that are all opinion based and virtually impossible to get less than 100 on.
Pretty easy class, 5 short papers, and 3 exams. Exams are in true/false so it's easy to accidentally get a wrong answer so make sure to take lecture notes. Other than the fact it's only graded by a few things I would highly recommend taking!
Very respected & wonderful Professor! Took his class on summer & It was a great experience. You need to do is do the readings and his lectures. You will pass the class and really enjoy his lectures! Right now I am taking his CFD590 in person & he enjoy his work & its very interesting & informative!! I recommend him high respect & he is so nice!
love professor myers. His lectures are always well-informed. Class is set up very simple with just a few things you are graded on such as exams, paper, and journals. Would def take his class again
Really outdated lectures (filmed in 2013/14 for 2023 class). Wouldn't really matter but the statistics are all out of date so tests are really lecture-dependent bc google will have diff statistics. Nice enough guy, checks in but everything is pre-recorded. 5 papers (graded on completion) 5 tests (20 Qs but he does curve). 1 extra credit paper.
Professor Myers is knowledgeable around the lecture material which shows in his prerecorded lectures. The tests are lecture heavy however he does post the lecture videos which have the slides. If you take notes, you will get an A.
This was an easy class. He's a very laid back and relaxed professor and made his lectures very interesting. Participation was not required and helps you go over the exams before taking it. He takes role everyday so go to class, he will deduct points at the end. Term paper may seem like a lot, but start it with time and it will be easy. LOVE HIM!
Professor Myers is an amazing and caring professor, I highly recommend taking one of his classes. The lectures can be heavy but the information is very interesting! You have 3 tests and 5 reflection papers but they are not formal.
3 exams. 5 reflection papers, about 1-2 pages. doesn't care how it's written, he just wants to know what you have learned. gives an extra credit opportunity. just watch his videos and take notes
He does a great job of elaborating on a teachable subject. Unfortunately his classes are not only long, but extremely understimulating. He elaborates a little too much and it takes an hour to go over a few slides. I fight not to fall asleep during his almost 3 hour lectures.
This is an async class. Test heavy. This prof is aged but an experienced therapist; he seems to be phoning it in. The problem with the course is his recorded lectures are 10 yrs old Maybe he's going to retire soon. The problem is that his test questions can be tricky. The stats/info you read in the textbook or google will conflict with his lectures
I really enjoyed this class! The class was easy if you watched the lectures & took notes. But the way he elaborated these interesting topics were easy to digest. Some say they're outdated, but there are newer ones mentioning COVID, so surely they all can't be that old. There's 3 exams pretty much based on lectures & 5 reflection papers (1-2 pages).
There were 5 reflection papers 1 to 2 pages about lectures. 3 tests on mostly the slides sometimes the book. Take identical notes. Tests were manageable. Very doable class if you put in the work. He is an amazing and caring professor that actually cares about what he teaches.
Three exams and reflection papers. The exams are very specific to the lectures and there is a total of 100 points in the class, so there isn't much wiggle room when it comes to losing points. Watch the lectures and take notes and you will be fine.
