Best teacher I ever had! All the examples are really funny. You can't stop laughing.

I'm a psych major because of the classes I had with him. Very entertaining.

He's pretty good. Interesting and is a funny guy. However, he's offensive to some people...so if your a sensitive person then don't take him. Otherwise, he's funny and you won't ever fall asleep in class. Trust me.

Dr. Palmer is an awesome teacher. He is alot of fun and his class is very enjoyable. He loves to have fun with the students, so if you are embarassed easily he may not be the professor for you. However, I loved his class and would take it again is possible

Dr. Palmer is extremely funny. You'll have fun in his class. He makes learning psych. fun for someone who doesn't enjoy it. Study extra hard for the tests...they're difficult. Don't be late and throw in some compliments about him..he loves it..haha.

He is an AWESOME professor. I just had my first class, and my stomach still hurts from laughing. A perfect teacher for a night class - he should be doing stand up, too! If you are offended by him, don't be. He is just being funny! Awesome!

His classes were fun overall. Attendance is not mandatory but it would be wise to show up since his lectures provide lots of stuff that show up on the tests... Usually the test involve mostly reading from the book which he doesnt cover in class so read ahead. His lectures are fun though, never a bore... Don''t be shy.

I LOVE DR. PALMER!!! Take his classes. He is one of the loveliest, wisest, kindest, interesting and educated people ever. Honestly! You learn a lot, the class is fun, he's got a sparkling sense of humor. He is friends to students without losing the distance, so the students respect him. If you wanna get a good grade, listen to him :)

I would definately recomend taking his class. He is very intertaining and has lots of interesting things to say. He talks about more than the book. He is pretty kick back. even though he doesn't make you do a lot of work, I learned a lot because he is such a good teacher.

Dr. Palmer is so nice and caring. In one class I talked about something emotional and that same night he called my house and asked if I was alright. He goes way beyond his duty to help students.

This guy is a freakin riot. He's so funny and lively and keeps you interested all through class. He usually goes off on a tangent talking about something either his patients expierenced that is interesting or something that's happened to him personally that's hilarious. He is the best professor I've ever had. He makes the class so much fun you never look at your watch. He explains things with stories and anecdotes which help students understand and remember. He has an excellent sense of humor. His exams are not difficult but he is fair.

He relates all the material to anecdotes he's got from his experience as a therapist, which I appreciated.He gives three tests and that's it for grades, but he can be a generous grader if you've shown some effort. Tests are about 40% book, 60% notes and the book stuff he doesn't go over in class. He is a great professor and I'm gonna miss his class

Really good class. Both entertaining and instructive. Need to listen between the jokes and digressions; he's teaching the whole time. Need to read the text, definitely. Grades solely on tests, which are not easy, but not impossible if you do the reading. Highly recommend if you want to learn. Great guy, too.

I took two of his classes over five years ago, and I came on here just to tell people how great he is. I've had six years of higher education now, at multiple schools, but Dr. Palmer is still the best for encouraging debate in class. I was shy, but I really enjoyed arguing with him in Abnormal Psych. Dr. Palmer is the kind of professor that makes you look forward to your class. He has a wonderful personality, sense of humor and uses great examples to support his theories.

Dr Palmer is wonderful. His passion for psychology is infectious (I am now a psych major!). Enjoy his lectures, challenge him by asking tons of questions, and keep up with the chapters. Only symptoms and the questions are multiple choice, no essays! He teaches intro, abnormal, and adolescent so you have many chances to get him!

I absolutely LOVED his class. I could always count on him to make my laugh even if I was having the worst day. His class was a blast and you actually learned stuff too. He comes to class with an expo marker and his brain. His exams were pretty easy as long as you paid attention and read the book. Don't take his class if you dont like lectures only.

Returning adult student; took one class of his, loved it so much I took another the next semester just to be around him again. He is entertaining, smart as hell, always interesting, truly hilarious and deeply kind. I just loved him. Only caveat-don't take his teasing personally! Shy people don't do well with him as he does pick on ppl, jokingly.

Awesome teacher! He is hilarious... it's sort of like taking psychology with Jack Nicholson. He lectures, then gives the test. It is expected that you do all the reading. It will be really hard to pass this class if you don't do the reading, but he is a fair grader. Great teacher! Highly recommended!

He so reminds me of Jon Stewart from the Daily Show! He is funny, makes great jokes, he is not ashamed to use F and S words frequently. However: He always comes on time and locks the door - he hates late-comers! He gives 6 tests of 50 questions each, lots of studying, but you can get A easily! He is also a great guy! Take him! Highly recommended!

If you wanna really enjoy yourself after a long day or if you want to begin your day with a smile, this is the teacher for you. He was the most hilarious and down-to-earth professor I have ever met. If I had to take more Psych classes, I would have definitely taken it with him. He is simply the best!

Dr. Palmer is HILARIOUS! He is by the far the funniest professor I have ever had. He barely uses the book and relies on his lectures for his tests, so attendance is a must. He sometimes gets sidetracked and tells lots of stories, but they are all funny and most of the time are pertinent to what we are learning. I highly recommend him!

I would totally advice anybody to take his class. He was very entertaining and talked a lot about real life experiences to make us understand the topic. Just pay attention in class and take notes and you will do just fine!

He is a very cool and entertaining professor. No homework but the tests given are pretty easy if you study for them. This class does require studying but its pretty easy all his tests are multiple choice and attendance is mandatory... TAKE THIS CLASS

Dr. Palmer is the best professor/teacher I have ever encountered. Very fair and extremely funny. I was sad when this class ended. I have great respect. He has given me insight on childrearing that has worked wonders in my family. Take this class...just be sure to read the book and be on time...enjoy!

he's stand up comedy, highly entertaining but please read the book. he doesnt really teach u much in class.Attendance IS mandatory (mainly so he doesnt hate you) but jst read the book and you'll get an A++ all ur grades are based on 4 tests and thats it, theres no other assignments. Final is not cumulative (only a few chapters. Study and presto!

I took a class with Don Palmer in 1977 (yes! THAT long ago!)He is one of a few professors I remember. I hope you see this, Don. You have done a great job all these years. Feel good about it.

An extremely pleasant teacher. He might intimidate you the first few days but when it comes to learning the subject and discussion he's great. His tests are a bit difficult, you will need to read the book to get above a B on the tests for sure and at the same time going to the lecture is a must. Overall a great and interesting professor.

Prof Palmer has to be one of the best professors at MC. He is hysterical! He had our class laughing everyday and gives NO work. Your grade is based on only exams so you really do need to study. Besides that, he is a great human being and you won?t regret his class. TAKE HIM!

I took adolescent psych with Dr. Palmer and it was one of the most enjoyable classes I have ever taken. Not only did we learn about adolescent psychology, we learned about life and how to spell asceticism. I only wish we had covered more material.

Great Professor, mostly a lecture based class. You use the textbook alot. As long as you pay attention and take good notes you should be able to earn a decent grade. It is a very interesting class. I reccommend you take it with him.

Wonderful Professor. Do not take his class if you are offended easily, as he swears and makes fun of people a lot, but he's a terrific teacher, and knows his field. He's very caring, and if you are willing to work hard, he will help you. I want to take every class he offers. TAKE HIS CLASS!

So far he has been my fav. teacher at MC. He is a great professor. The way he teaches makes it very easy for you to pass the test with an A. Of course you have to read the book too. He knows his material. He will always light up your day. He is funny and swears a lot, which is hilarious. He is a die heart DC sports fan.

No study guides. Short lectures. He is funny. But unless you're a responsible and determined to achieve an "A" student. This is not the class for you. He has zero tolerance for students that are late and no show to class.

He is honestly great! I love his class he is def entertaining but you passing the class depends on how you take notes and you have to read! All the reading he gives you if you want to pass his test. If you read there should be no reason for you not to pass.

Probably the best professor at MC. The test are oriented around the book so you will have to do some reading. Many people expect to just be given a grade and that his questions are common sense. It's not. I recommend people to not take notes during lecture, but they should study the terms prior to entering class. That's how A students get As.

My absolute favorite professor at MC! I took 2 of his classes. If I could take more I would. He's the reason I finally decided Psych was the major for me. Such a caring guy even outside of class. Very funny. Don't show up late, he doesn't like that. Make sure you read the textbook where he tells you to! His notes are very clear, so write them down!

Incredible teacher. His lectures are amazing. He keeps you interested and is extremely funny. His tests are short and not that difficult as long as you read and study the book. He doesn't give study guides and leaves the studying up for you. However, his tests are not that difficult.

Dr. P is amazing wish he could teach all the psych classes! He gets really into his lectures which makes it really interesting. Write down what he writes on the board bc its on the test usually as short answers! And just read the chapters he puts on the test bc thats multiple choice and I'm sure you'll pass with an A! Students from his class learn a lot. Attendance is not mandatory but I'll advise you to NOT be absent because you will lack a lot of knowledge. He uses his past experience a lot along with his lectures. Just take notes of everything he says because it will all be on the test and read the chapters he assign for the test. He is very funny. I had Palmer for Abnormal and Adolescent Psych he is by far one of the best teachers I have every had. He really understood the situations that life threw at students. The best way to get an A is pay attention to the notes in class, read the book, and participate. He wants you to do good he will push your grade up if he think you worked for it.

This was a summer class, almost four hours long; but thanks to Dr. Palmer's awesome lectures, the time breezed by. He is very personable and funny, and keeps everything light. His tests are easy, just pay attention in class! I learned quite a bit, and highly recommend any class taught by Dr. Palmer!

He'll make you step out of your comfort zone for sure. He really knows his subject and makes it easy to understand. He has a sense of humor that most professors don't have. He engages students in ways you wouldn't expect a professor to do. He is very outgoing & always ready to teach his students about psych. We had like 3 tests and a presentation to do, so make sure you study for those tests since there aren't many opportunities to boost your grade. This is my 2nd time taking him because I loved him before. Doesn't use the board, but his lectures are easy to follow and funny to listen to. Don't really need the textbook because his lectures cover everything that's on the test, but reading it ensures an A on tests.

Honestly a real amazing guy. Picture an old man from Brooklyn and add lots of hilarious stories (and a bit of profanity) and you have Palmer. The tests were easy enough, no paper, only a short presentation. Take this prof! You will not regret it!

Doctor Palmer is the best psychology professor at Mc. All the classes he teaches are great.

Took his summer class and he was clear and cut from the start. Everything is in the textbook and he is great at helping students remember material with the stories he tells or drawings. Everything was straight from the syllabus, be ready to laugh and be laughed at. He uses profane language but hands down would take the class 10 times over.

Best professor I've ever had. There were six tests, and they're only on things that are actually relevant to know. They're all multiple choice (bless his soul), and there are 30-40 questions per test. Some extra credit available is available if necessary. The textbook is really vital- all the tests are based on it. Take his class!!

Dr. Palmer is a very entertaining professor. If you give enough effort, you're likely to get an A. His tests aren't that delicate at all. Lecture wise, I'd say he should perhaps cover a bit more, but for a summer class, he did what he could. Overall, a wonderful professor !

Best professor Ive had so far. His lectures were captivating and his humor was welcoming. Straight forward exams, all exam content is discussed in class and a few questions from the book. He cares about his students and wants to see them succeed, I wish he taught my mental health classes.

Dr. Palmer's super funny making the room laugh every time we meet, Dr. Palmer doesn't do Blackboard, post notes or MC e-mail. For the textbook, the one offered in MCstore comes with the access he doesn't use- waste of $, any ed. will do but that makes keeping up with mat. a bit tricky- he jumps around chapters, makes tweaks & test are testing

6 tests and no final. the lowest one got dropped. I studied (read the book) like 2 hours and got 90+ on the test. Didn't have to take the last one. Also pay attention in class so that you do not have to study much. Also, he decided to waive the term paper. EASY A!!!

TAKE HIM. you don't just laugh, you snort. -Can use any ed of the text, however, if you buy the one in the MC store it comes with the access which he doesn't use, - doesn't use blackboard/e-mail, -lectures aren't solely on the book, he puts input, - office hour everyday, - final is just test 4,- you present topics,- creative fun environment

TAKE HIM. It's easy if you actually just show up, take notes, read the textbook. he does movie and book recommendations to help understand more or just if you want if you like Psychology and want to open up more to it, THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU

Dr. Palmer is a gem of MC. He is inspirational and teaches through lectures and funny life stories. You'll never be bored in class -- unless hes late. You take 6 tests and the lowest one gets dropped. You'll do good on them as long as you show up, take notes, and read the assigned pages. The short time I have known this man was the most incredible, memorable experience of my life. Any educator who chooses to keep going past retirement is a true, real gem & MC was lucky to have him.
