You don't have to go to class, but you have to read to be ready for the tests.
Don't have to go to class - but it helps! Might fall alseep in class. Nice Guy.
Read the chapters and you will be fine.....can skip as often as needed!!
Can be boring. Read Chapters! Skipping not recommended but can be done easily.
Vague, seems bored. Actually read from text in class.
Boring class. I skip more than I go. Just read and you'll be fine
Single handly the most boring professor who ever walked the GVSU halls..AVOID!
First of all avoid every section he teaches, no hope for students, NEEDS HELP
This professor could put himself to sleep. You will learn very little. Avoid!!!
He's boring and DOES NOT give any direction for what you need to know for exams
100% on the paper(i did in 2 nights), didnt have the book and got an easy B+
Very nice guy, exams, etc. are reasonable
there is no direction in the class, and if there was you'd sleep through it,ahhh
easy grader, got 97% on a bs paper, bit boring but nice guy
montone...boring...very friendly...willing to help..EASY 'A'
After failing once with Bolea, this was a dream. BORING but passable.
soooo boring, but nice. Read chapter summarys to pass with an "A"
Easy easy easy
Some think he's boring. I thought he was cool and funny. Easy class!!
I thought he was funny. A pretty easy grader and a nice person.
Pretty boring...but class is a breaze.
Class is boring. Doesn't go over all the material on the tests
Rarely went to class, still got B+, very funny!! Doesn't cover all material tho
funny guy, but doesn't cover material for exams
he is a good prof
he is really not that bad. just go to class and you will be fine
Pretty boring, but nice. Doesn't reallly cover info. for exams

Grea prof. Very helpful, yet a little monotone. Read chapter summaries, easy A
I could have napped at home for free. Easy but a snooze.
Boring but very easy
lecture is boring and the tests are hard

Good prof. Very helpful, and pretty easy grader.
talks about fam alot which gives good examples, cool project, hard exams
hated his class. waste of time and money. hard exams
Blah blah snooze!
monotone, boring, don't bother with class read the book and you'll ace tests
Easy class if you go and read the book. Nice and very helpful guy.
Funny but a bit monotoned. Tells you what you need to know. Read Chapters.

good prof, funny, go to class-ace tests. what's hard about that?
sucks as a prof - avoid him for Child Psychology
pretty easy, don't bother with going to class, just need to read the book
No Comments
BORING lecture, pointless b/c not much ends up on exam, random questions = hard
a bit monotone yes, but organized, clear re. what he wants.. read book
This is an easy class but somewhat boring. Read the book and buy the study guide
Funny guy, read the book and you'll do fine
Okay class, okay prof, would rather be sleeping.
Read the book, go to class, and you'll do fine.
watch out for the project! doesn't really explain what he wants
BORING lectures, just read the book and you'll learn a lot more. Doesn't care if you attend class.
Read the book. Use the study guide. Do this and it's a super easy class. Kinda boring, but who cares if it's an easy A? He does have an occasional funny moment.
Great prof, even funny at times. Very helpfull

so boring i brought a pillow to class, monotone voice, dosen't give a study guide and his tests are somewhat difficult, could care less how your doing in the class
Don't need to come to class, just read the book. Can't stand going to class, not a good public speaker. Tries to be funny, though.
Boring, most of class was asleep, does not involve class in lectures. No study guide and hard tests
NO STUDY GUIDE for hard tests- went through entire book during the course of the year. Exams every other week. Not a good public speaker-boring. Went to class EVERYDAY-only 10 pages of notes after the year. Not helpful nor interesting lectures!
AH!!! Just Run. No study guides, no help. Required to read entire book. Test questions are 'theory' questions, if child does this, what does it mean when the mother says this. Impossible. Need C for elem. Ed. and it was nearly impossible even w/guide.
Run! Hard tests, no direction given on what to study. Read the entire book, only took a few pages of notes after going to every day. Project is hard compared to the other PSY 301 profs.
Exams are made to confuse! Difficult to get a fair grade. I studied for hours, knew the material and got a low grade.
Boring! He beats an issue to death! Test are easy, you just have to suffer through class!
he is so boring. heinous tests. studied for hours to try and get a c. tries to be funny but failes just like his student on his test. give him a double BOOO
very easy if you take lecture notes, pretty much everything thats on the test is from lecture, boring class
Wasn't too bad...trust me, there are worse psych teachers out there.
One word: boring.
BORING! his lectures were so boring, i learned nothing, tests were hard, gave no direction as to how to study, sat in the back of the class and made fun of his wardrobe.
I thought I'd never wake up from the nightmare this class turned out to be. He was very boring, and the tests were very hard.
He rants and raves about one thing for weeks. The day before the test he will quickly cover the 2 of the 3 chapters the test. He gives you no guidance or quality information. The class is a waste of time. Better off not even going.
MONOTONE. Attended every class, took notes, worked butt off, and got a C. (I have a GPA of 3.4). Funny, but not fair, overly hard tests, does not cover book in class but tests 90% over the book! Very hard, not fun, bad grade.
Decent class, learned good stuff. He is kinda funny, but not much of the test is what we go over in class. Complicated questions on test from text reading. No homework, just tests and a paper, so u gotta do good on tests or else.....
Hard tests. You have to read becuase he doesn't cover much in class. Lecture is easy to understand, but not a lot is covered because he spends so much time on each topic. Paper is really easy. Nice guy.
He is a very nice guy, but he doesn't give enough time to teach all the material before the exams. You must read everything and go to class if you want to do good on the exams. If he didn't talk so much on one subject the class would be more effective
He hardly covers anything in class, and talks about nothing and always carries class over. I would try to avoid him, tests are impossible. Not a very exciting prof.
The class had potential to be fun, but he was not exciting or interesting at all.
I enjoyed his lectures, and the tests weren't very hard as long as you read the book.
If you read the book LIKE YOU SHOULD ANYHOW! then the class will compliment and you will do fine. Helps when asked. Very nice guy. Just do you work and study.
overall not bad, half the time he was boring the other half he was funny. read the book. 1/6 of grade is attendance! i did have a prob with some of his unclear test questions. i would not go to any trouble to get him, but he doesn't need to be avoided.
It could have been a lot better. I didn't feel comfortable asking questions and when I did he wasn't clear on the answer. Not a very lively class.
I've been in this class for one week. It feels like a lifetime. This guy is BORING!!!!! Can't seem to get off of one subject. Humor is dryer than a popcorn fart!! Run, run like the wind. Switch. Get a live professor instead of this guy!
seems like pretty nice guy, but christ i came here for an education not a nap.
Funny and kept us awake in that LONG night class!
Very boring guy. Lectures are dull & the very dry sense of humor does not help. Exams are all multiple choice with some tricky questions, but generally not too hard.
He is very fair teacher. If you already took child psych you will know most of the material. He gives you extra on attendance. So just show up in your classes and do ok on the tests, you will do fine.
Lectures are interesting, but the tests are HARD, even if you come to class every day and take notes. It's just the way they're worded. He grades really leniently on the term paper, though (I got 100%). Weird humor, but fun. Come to class, take notes, read the book, you'll be okay.
Great professor! I LOVED his dry sense of humor, he is funny! His exams are easy as long as you take notes and read the chapters! The paper is actually a fun project because you get to question kids!
I really liked this prof because he seemed to really care about the subject matter. He has kids so he shared stories that fit into lectures. He isn't a hard prof as long as you go to class and read the chapters, but its relatively easy reading. I recommend him.
Lectures are interesting but exams are HARD!! Attendence is not taken but it is very helpful to hear his lectures because he gives a lot of the test questions thro them. Keep up on the readings and study your notes and good luck with the class!!
He is nice, and pretty funny. However, if you buy the study guide and read the book, lectures are just pointless. Exams are tricky, but many of the questions come directly from the study guide. He's okay....if you are looking for excitement, you won't find it here
Wow, I really wanted to take this class but it wasn't what I thought I didn't learn much and he is really dull.Take a different teacher you'll learn more.
If you need a good nap just come to this class! That sounds pretty harsh I know but come on!!! I really dont need to here any stories about yor daughters growing up just teach the material and let us leave!! Tests are pretty tricky!!
If you need a good nap just come to this class! That sounds pretty harsh I know but come on!!! I really dont need to here any stories about yor daughters growing up just teach the material and let us leave!! Tests are pretty tricky!!
Read the book! His end of the year project is better, easier, and more fun than other professors who teach this class. (I know because I had to retake it and now I got a B with him).
This was the most boring and pointless class ever! Don't bother going to class, just read the book. I didn't figure that out until the middle of the semester and just barely passed. His lectures are not even on the exams and he ALWAYS goes off on little bunny trails while teaching and then later tel
Very clear and helpful professor. Does all he can to accommodate students. Very nice guy. Class is a little boring, but he adds funny stories to supplement the lectures. The comment below about the daughter stories shows someone who obviously is just getting by. They show application to real life.
Nice prof, but doesn't have any organization in teaching. You MUST read the book to do decent on the tests, which isn't really worth the effort. Try to find a different prof.
His greatest weakness is that he is monotonous - I have, in fact, never met someone so monotonous. His greatest strengths are that he is clear regardless, and he definitely genuinely cares for the students. Some nights I love the lectures, and some nights I wanted to gouge my eyes out with a spoon. Take it or don't.
Class is very difficult, tests are really hard and tricky. The class is also really boring, take someone else if you can! He is a helpful prof though.
i had him for controversial issues. i thought it would be interesting. sadly, i was wrong. i had him 3 hours 2x a week. all he did was stand there and talk in his unbelievably monotonous voice. we barely had any discussion, and he didn't know anyone's name even at the end of the term. i'm going with "gouge my eyes out with a spoon"
He is very boring and has bad jokes. It is a hard class to sit through because he is so boring. He doesn't get the class involved at all and talks way to long on one subject. He tests were a little tricky but if you read the book and go to class you should do fine.
He is a really good professor. He can be boring at times, but he has funny jokes and stories that keep you interested. He does a good job at teaching the information, but make sure you go to class, all of his inclass examples and studies are always the essay questions on exams.
1/6th of your grade depends on attendance, so don't take him if you skip a lot. And don't take him for a night class, because sometimes he's boring. But sometimes he has really funny stories to share. He is also really flexible with due dates/test dates. He is also a pretty nice guy. You need to read the material to do well.
He is a very nice, funny, random guy. He has a way of putting things in a very sarcastic way. His lectures are way boring though. He says m'kay all the time... kind of like the teacher off South Park. Tests are kind of hard. You don't even need to go to class, its all in the book.
This class is so easy! All you have is eight quizes which are on 2 short chapters and a research paper which is pretty simple! Lectures are boring, and you do not need to go to get an A in the class. But Professor Paszek tries to make funny jokes, and you can't help but at least smirk. Take this professor if you want a good grade!
Prof. Paszek does not really get to know his students and attendance is not mandatory, but he is good at what he does. The exams are easy if you read the chapters, and buying the study guide defenitly helps, since some of the questions come from it. I would reccommend him if you don't mind a little extra work!
His lectures are kind of boring. You need to read and the study guide does help. He is willing to help if you need it. Overall he wasn't a bad prof.
As long as you read through the chapters of the book, you'll do fine on the 8 tests (it's so much easier when they are broken down). Attendance isn't mandatory (can be dry) but is somewhat helpful. The paper seems overwelming but it is a piece of cake.
Painfully boring, largely because he simply can't stick to relevant topics. During our three hour classes, he would often launch into half hour tangents about a new television show. Exams weren't difficult though.
I think he's funny. I mean he does have a dry sense of humor, but it breaks the lecture up which I appreciate b/c it can be drawn out. My favorite is when he talks about his daughters. You must read the book to do well on the tests. Paper is easy. You may think he's lame in the beginning, but it gets better. I like class. Something new everyday hah
This teacher was hard to follow as he could never complete a thought. We also had a three hour class and were never there for more than 1.5 hours. He was unapprochable and when asked for help told me to take better notes on 1 hour of lecture for a three hour class. It was the worst PSY class I have ever been in. Do not take this professor.
This Prof was horribly boring. During lecture he never had a complete thought. Monotone voice...zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Read the book! The tests are based on the text his lecture is useless. Your grade is based on only 4 exams and 1 paper (no study guides) I would not suggest this prof. I have heard this class is easy if an alternative prof. Good Luck
Did not enjoy him at all. The tests were very difficult and had a ton of information. You'll find it hard not to skip this class.
Easy class, but my god... he is sooooo BORING! You'd better load up on coffee before class. Seriously.
I would take him again, funny if you listen. Hard to pay attention some times. Go to class and read the book and you can get an A. I would recommend the study guide that goes with the book some test questions are almost exact to samples.
Ugh. If you are going to take this class, do NOT take a 3 hour block. Paszek cannot make it through the material. Reading the book is mandatory, but I still never really knew what to expect on any exam. He does have some interesting videos and stories.. but none of which are on the tests.
This professor is very boring, but the lecture, if you listen and take notes, really clarifies the reading. Reading is the most important component, however. In 364 he assigned 7 tests and like 5 papers. Good stuff :)
This professor is HORRIBLE! He only teaches a fraction of what is actually in the book, or even on the tests. As a future teacher, he taught me how to NOT teach. The material is interesting, but he is incredibly boring, and only teaches a small amount. I was really disappointed with this class.
Awful teacher. He took class time to tell us what was in the book. I can read thank you.
Big disappointment. I was really looking forward to this class and it was just terrible. Not at all engaging. Have to read the book or you will fail. He goes over very minimum info that will be on the test and class seemed like a waste of time bc it was all in the book. Tests are hard. I'm an a sometimes b student and i'll be lucky to pull a C :-(
A lot of people do not like him because he does not lecture on everything that is on the test; YOU MUST READ THE TEXTBOOK! If you read the textbook and take notes in class because sometimes he will lecture on things not in the book then you will be fine. It really is not that hard and he is a very corky guy -- makes you laugh.
Take this professor...he is boring and monotone, but cocky and funny. If you study from the textbook you will do great. 7 exams and papers that equal 2 exams. Take him. ps dont take a 3 hr block bc his lectures are boring
do NOT take the 3 hour block with him if u take him at all. very monotone that puts me to sleep. READ THE TEXTBOOK because exams are kinda hard. you can probably get away with only coming to class on exam days and to turn in papers. you basically teach yourself the subject which isn't really that interesting sometimes. take someone else if u can!
Horrible professor, takes class time to tell us whats in the book. You need to read the book in order to pass the class, because the whole test is based on the book. Very monotone and boring but cocky at the same time. Take someone else if you can
Probably the laziest prof ever. You will teach yourself the class. He's very boring, but sometimes can be funny. Not recommended.
Agree with previous comments. Minimal in class teaching. Exams come straight from the book which he only covers a very small amount of in class, Don't need to attend class at all. You could just read the book, show up on test day, and get an A. If you need a good grade this is the class to take. If interested in being taught..not so much.
He does have really boring lectures. Taking notes is sometimes difficult because he only writes down the very basics of what he's talking about. Reading the book is important for the tests, but the tests are pretty easy. Not really that hard of a subject in general, but also not all that interesting.
Don't take this professor unless you want to teach yourself. If you like to skip class and learn entirely from the text book then take him otherwise run! Also his paper for this class is a free A if you bother to try at all on it but it's long and boring. His tests are pulled straight from the book with no study guide!
Attendance is a joke, I've found that if I outline the textbook before hand, I sit for 50 minutes with no reason to be in the room besides for some witty comments from Prof, which I thoroughly enjoy. The papers are a gift, he literally hands you a 10/10 with any effort on them.
Very nice guy. His lectures are extremely boring. There are four tests and a paper so if you are a good test taker, then this is the class for you. It was hard for me to figure out what material he wanted for the tests
Most boring lecture I've ever sat through. I did not understand what material he wanted us to memorize for tests.
Great prof. He knows his stuff, but lectures were very boring. Willing to help if you show him you care.
Yes, lectures are extremely boring, but he is a very nice man and can be funny. Attendance isn't mandatory, if you read the chapters, (ESPECIALLY THE REVIEWS AT THE END OF EACH CHAPTER), and know the vocab terms, you can get almost perfect scores on the tests. The project/paper is long and time consuming, but easy. He's very approachable for help.
Horrible
Fairly nice guy, boring lectures, horrible professor. Gives no PowerPoints or outlines and rambles a lot on one topic during lectures. Sometimes he would spend the day telling us what we would need to know but not teaching it.
Terrible! Went to class, outlined the book, still did horrible. 2/3 of the class got C's or lower on tests. There is no need for the tests to be that hard, but most questions are tricky, some questions I SWEAR didn't have the right answer in the MC options. 7 papers = one test grade..the only thing to boost your grade. Take someone else!
HORRIBLE! Be glad if you recieve a C on a exam. He goes over one concept each chapter,so it is up to you to teach yourself. Exams are every other week on two chapters. HE DOES NOT TEACH THE SUBJECT. So avoid if you do not want to be worried all semester if you will pass or not. I regret taking him.
If their was a job that required you to do nothing and still get paid, this guy found it. Literally the laziest professor ever. Read the chapters, study the terms, READ THE END OF CHAPTER REVIEWS and you'll ace every test. But unless you want to mentally hang yourself, do not come to class. I am not kidding
There were several exams for this course, every other week covering 2 chapters. Very easy if you read the chapters in the book, he only covers certain points from the textbook in class. Assigns small papers, very easy, and grades easily as well. If you read the chapters before the test you will do well!
Awful... Doesn't speak loud. Acts wierd. Can be funny at times. Only gives 5 exams so no extra work if you do bad on the exams. Questions are very hard to interpret. He gives out no study guides for exams so you have to hope you studied the right sections of the chapters. Avoid if possible
Paszek's class is boring, but it's not the hardest class I've ever taken. You do need to read the book, so if you don't like to do NOT take his class. You will not do well on exams if you don't read. We had to write 5, 2 page papers which were super easy.
This prof was terrible!! He was so boring and not helpful. Prof Paszek would give so many notes and not tell you what would be on the tests.
This professor is basically useless. You will not pass this class without the textbook! He basically rambles on about one topic and other personal topics just to waste time. But this class can be very easy if you just read the book and show up for the exams.
Professor is a very nice man, but unfortunately his lectures lack focus (tends to ramble with stories). He will only touch certain topics from each chapter (2 chapters to an exam) and lectures directly out of the book (Literally, with the book in front of the class) You could honestly never go to class, read the chapters, and show up for exams.
I was really excited to take this class, and am now very upset that i did. This professor was completely useless. He was extremely boring, went off on tangents frequently, and never gave any info that couldn't be learned from the book. You will want the book, because he doesn't cover much of the material for exams during lectures.
This is the worst psychology professor ever.his lectures are very boring,he explains in a monotone voice,he does not cover everything in the book,he doesn't give any study guides or questions to prepare you for the exams. The exams are very tricky and he corrects many times based on his opinion.Don't take this professor, learn the material by ur own
He is very knowledgeable and helps you understand things from the text in lecture. Communication outside of class is non-existent and you are on your own besides what is in the syllabus. No study guides of any sort which make tests very hard to prepare for. He didn't mention 10 page essay for 1/7 of our grade in class until a week before it was due
Lectures the entire class. No power points, no outlines, and the exams are 40 questions covering 3-4 chapters. The questions are all straight from the book. I go to class everyday and still have to read every single word from the book to get a good grade. If you like to read, and want to skip the class, this is for you.
I learned after the first test that he uses difficult language on the tests. I understood everything from class and the reading, but when I got to the test the vocabulary he used was not similar to what I had studied for. There are no assignments, just tests. Make sure you read and take really good notes. He will go over tests with you, if asked.
Very clear and simple class. Tests were a little tricky (multiple choice). Lectures were quite boring , he sometimes will get you laughing but not too often. He knows the subject matter well. Really pay close attention to lectures (every word), and do a general overview of the chapters if you want to get an A. He's an okay teacher.
He lectures from minute 1 until the end of class. No class involvement. So not a riveting professor. Take notes, COME TO CLASS. He has exams every other week which are not cumulative which I definitely liked. Good notes, get the general idea of the chapters, and put the study time in, you'll be fine. Doesn't use BB, no study outlines
Prof. Paszek was the worst psych prof I have ever had. There is zero class participation, he never asks questions, lectures don't have any flow so you're better off taking your own notes from the book. He doesn't use BB at all, and he uses different language and wording on his exams than he does in lecture, feels like your taking another profs exam
This was a really boring class to take, and it's what I plan to go into. His lectures are dry and he doesn't use a powerpoint or use blackboard. I didn't show up to class between exams and still got a B+ on them. The textbook is essential, you can just read that and pass fine wo attending. His only grades come from the exams and the final paper.
His tests are pretty hard I got either B's or C's on them. He gave us an opportunity to have extra credit at the end of the semester. Make sure to attend the lectures it's an important part of the class.
Paszek is a sweet man, but he's kind of boring. There's simply not enough time for him to go over everything that's on the exams so you'll have to read, otherwise you probably won't do too hot. 'i made that mistake. It's not that difficult if you pace the reading. Sometimes on the exams he'll have things not in the book that he went over in class
Not a big fan. lectures are boring and drawn out. He struggles at keeping a good pace, and his tests are hard with no reviews. The tests are about half-book half-lecture, and sometimes can even include stuff that isn't taught in class. He doesn't like technology in the classroom. I wouldn't take him again, 4 tests and 1 paper is your entire grade.
Paszek is a super interesting prof. Definitely take him if you have the chance!! He has really interesting stories related to the information! Really nice guy. Go to class, read the book and its an easy A. You could potentially skip class (he doesn't take attendance) and read the book and easily pass. He offers extra credit at the end.
Although the class was moderately difficult, this prof. really wasn't that bad. Has a slightly monotone voice, but tells jokes that make class worthwhile. He gave a lot of examples during class that were helpful when I went back and studied the material later. As long as you read the book and study, you're golden.
Do not recommend. Prof. Paszek has a very monotone voice and speaks very slowly. And even though the class was only 50 minutes, it lasted forever. The prof is obviously very knowledgeable in this area and he cracks some jokes but the only funny thing is that he laughs at himself. Absolutely necessary to read the textbook or you will fail.
Prof Paszek is a good professor, but his lectures are boring. He sometimes makes jokes, but he's usually the one laughing. There are 5 tests, with 3 chapters each. Each chapter is 40 pages, so don't wait until the last minute to read them. STUDY! The only way you'll pass is if you read the book. We don't take a lot of notes, so it's okay to skip.
I loved him as a professor and I loved the content, but his lectures aren't fantastic, he's pretty monotone. IF YOU DON'T READ YOU WILL NOT PASS. The course covers so much material and he only talks about 1/4 of it in lecture so you dont necessarily have to go to class to pass either. He grades based on 7 tests and 3 papers.
Paszek was a nice guy, but his lectures were terrible! Very boring, I had this as my first class of the day and it was not a good start to it. You must read the book if you want to pass the class because he does not cover everything in lecture like he says he does. Tests are also confusing. The written papers he grades fairly easy.
You do not need to go to class. You have 7 non-cumulative exams and they only cover 2 chapters each. Content is straight out of the book. Read the book and you'll get As on the exams.
Has the worst monotone voice, cant answer questions that are asked and only goes over 1/10 of test material during lectures. Going to class is a waste of time. If the class is required like it was for me I would just read the chapters thoroughly at home and go to class for exams I got an A or B on all of them and rarely went to class
Prof Paszek was my favorite prof this semester. He made class so easy and fun. He has more of a sarcastic, dry sense of humor so if you like that I would 10/10 recommend his class. You have 7 exams and 5 papers, but nothing was cumulative and the papers were super easy. He always gives examples about him and his family which I thought was nice.
Professor Paszek is very monotone and does not try make lecture interesting. The material in this class is very interesting but he made me not want to study it. Just make sure you do all the readings since that is 95% of what he puts on exams. Test almost every 2-3 weeks and papers due the other weeks. EC at the end where he can bump your grade.
Pretty boring class for the most part. Tests were really hard. He only taught like 40% of what was on the exam and you had to take a lot of time to read the book if you want to do well. Overall Don was a goofy guy and tried to make the class entertaining by sharing jokes really only he laughed at though. No final. Just exams and papers.
not a bad prof. really dont need to go to class but you need to read the textbook. gives 7 exams all over about 2 chapters maybe 3 each. includes 5 papers but they're more like summaries (very easy grader when it comes to them) at the end of the semester those equal out to an exam. kinda dry boring lectures, but he throws in a lot of dad jokes
Easily the worst professor in the Psychology Department that I have seen. His lectures are less than worthless; he writes little to nothing on the board, does not ask the class questions, and rambles on for the 50 minutes of class. His tests are based 90% off of the textbook, and the test questions are tiny insignificant details from the textbook.
Dr Paszek tested primarily on information he lectured on so I would advise going to class. Not overly exciting, but Dr Paszek was straight forward and fair; I would take him again.
I took this class in the summer & there were 3 exams & a paper. It's a lot of reading but if u read the chapters & study them throughly you'll do good. Go to class too cause what he lectures in class tells you what to focus on in the reading. A lot of ppl seem to struggle with this class & it's probably cause they didn't read. Overall solid choice.
We have 7 non-cumulative exams, including the final being non-cumulative. We also had 5 papers due, which are an easy 10 points each. Each exam is over 2 chapters, so its not too hard to learn and study for. Exams are 40 questions all MC. I would definitely take him for PSY 364.
Prof. Paszek is hilarious! The material is basic and little studying is needed to get a good grade. As long as you read the chapters and go over your notes before an exam, you'll do fine. He writes few things on the board, so take notes on what he says. Loved this class!
Paszek has a great personality, but I wasn't a fan of the class in general. Lectures were kind of pointless; they gave you an idea of the major topics he wanted you to learn, but his exams are chocked full of topics he didn't even mention in-class. Your grade is almost entirely based on the exams, except for one paper. Exams were difficult.
Very funny, laid back prof! Exams every other week, but only covers 2 chapters of the book and no cumulative final. However, you need to read and fully understand the chapters to do well as only a small portion of the exam is covered through lecture. There's 5 essays in total and all very easy as long as you describe and applied them to your life.
Honestly one of the most boring professors you can take. lectures the entire hour about things that don't show up on the test. The tests are all based off of the book readings so if you don't read you wont pass. Your entire grade is based on 5 tests and 1 paper each worth 100 points. His tests are really hard multiple choice This is my first C ever
READ THE TEXTBOOK. Professor Paszek is a good professor, but boring. I fell asleep most class days. I did well in the class because of the textbook, you won't pass unless you read the textbook.
Nice professor, but very monotone. Going to class is mainly a waste of time, but he would sometimes play a video and have questions about it on the exams. He doesn't do PowerPoints, so you need to pay attention if you want to take notes. I recommend focusing on your textbook if you want to pass.
Prof. Paszek is super funny and is SO nice if you go to his office hours! The tests are pretty hard and you absolutely HAVE to read out of the book or you will not pass the exams. He can be monotone, but he adds in humor at times.
I loved Professor Paszek, he's really funny and gives good lectures. He's monotone but he throws in jokes a lot, so it's not as bad as people make it out to seem. You need to read the book, 80% of the exams are based on lecture, 20% from the book (for a few exams I just did the book vocab and would get high B's). No final, 1 paper which is easy
I didn't think I'd do well with Paszek but his class was actually really easy. He is monotone but everything that he says shows up on the tests so take good notes. You really can't miss a class if you want to do well because of how lecture heavy the class is. Overall, Paszek is a great guy and a solid choice for a prof!
He only grades on six things, five exams (non-cumulative) and one paper. The paper is easy you just have to study a child. The only bad part of his class was the informal notes. He doesn't do slides or anything he just writes on the board. Just write down everything he says and study your notes you should do good.
Do not take Paszek for PSY364 unless you can stand to sit through super boring lectures. He lectures out of the book and writes maybe 5 words on the board all of class so you have to be listening to what he says. Also the exams are pretty hard and does not even cover what he lectures. Also can be pretty rude.
I really enjoyed this class! There are exams every two weeks, which seems like a lot but each are over only two chapters. They are easy to study for, especially when you do the chapter readings. There were 5 papers throughout the semester but they didn't have a length requirement and were very straightforward. Highly recommend Prof. Paszek!
The information in this class was really interesting and he was a really nice professor. I thought the lectures were interesting but he would only cover a very small amount of the material that we needed to know and he writes very little on the board so it was challenging for me to take good notes. Reading the book is necessary and lengthy!
Paszek is genuinely a good professor if you love lectures. Make sure you take extremely good notes and READ THE TEXTBOOK. You need to know terms and put those terms into context for tests. There is one big paper at the end of the term and an EC with it so do both, start early. Use Vital Source for the textbook to save $ and is helpful for the paper
Five non-cumulative exams and one paper where you study an adolescent. The lectures alone are just him and his monotone voice talking the entire time, no slides or anything remotely useful, but you are required to take notes. Any info on the exams comes solely from the textbook.
