He is very helpful and expects students to respect him and his class room. He can be a little loud at times when he is trying to make a point and sometimes you never know if he is serious or joking but he is great and you will have fun learning

Dr. Ranish is one of the teacher's at AVC whom truly allows the class to interact. He is extremely knowledgeable and allowed for out of school activities such as a courthouse/jail visit. He is also extremely helpful during his office hours. I would definitely recommend any class Dr. Ranish teaches

Dr. Ranish is a wonderful teacher. I wasn't always into this subject, but he did well in making it easy to learn. I wish I needed other classes with him. As long as you have done the study guide, you will pass tests.

Awesome teacher, and has rules for a reason. He has a story for everything. Explanations for his rules that will shock you. He's been everywhere and know's everyone. Very interesting. Always had a good time in his class. The only one I stayed awake for.

Even though i was in his "worst" class, Dr. Ranish is the greatest teacher i have ever had. his class was sooo interesting, even though the rules were kinda strict, it was a good thing. He is sooo funny and inspired me to become a teacher.

The funniest, most sarcastic guys you will ever meet. You can tell he loves politics and he is a known liberal. His class was one of the best I had ever taken. I would recommend him to anyone. Tests are easy, answers are pretty much given to you in the review booklet.

Funny, but harsh. Does not tolerate tardyness, absences, or talking. He keeps you in class for ever second he has. He is a good teacher to learn from, but he is very critical and very harsh. You will laugh tho, he is crazy.

Even though he is a liberal, he gives a balanced view, (Most of the time). He is hilarious and he obviously cares about teaching. He's kinda freaky looking and can't pronounce "Italy" properly.

who doesn't love Ranish! he insipired me to take the LSAT. he is a great instructor and a valuble resource if you show him the respect he deserves. pay attention, don't swear or smoke and you'll have a great semester!

Ranish is awesome!! you will love his classes and look forward to them, especially his drawings and his triple-wide trailer :) he is a very different professor but very interesting and makes learning fun! His tests can sometimes be a bit detailed but stick to the study guide and you will do fine

Dr. Ranish is an awesome teacher, I returned to colleg after 20yrs he made it exciting and interesting. I recommend you take him above all other poli sci teacher. He cares that you get it!!!! He like you to ask questions he makes you laugh alllootttt.

Easy class. tells you exactly what will be on the test. no papers, just eleven study guides due at the end of the semester. Has four tests and drops the lowest score. he is a really funny guy, you laugh mostly because he laughs since he things he is so funny. super nice but is strict on his no cell phone policy.

I actually did enjoyed this class. He was hilarious and he'll make you smile, even if you aren't in the mood to smile. He is really strict on cell phone and people chewing gum. He'll help you on your Study Guide question. His test is easy, but make sure you start study for it about a week early. I recommended him for Poli Sci 101.

Dr Ranish it the best polsc sci teacher at avc! Actually, he is one of the best teachers. yeah he doesn't like gum chewing & cell phones but it's his class! I never opened the book once, & got an A, all you do is study guide questions. He's retired now so it's questionable if he will come back part time so if you get the chance to take him DO IT!!

One of my favorite teachers in AVC. His class is so fun and enjoyable that there is no reason why not to show up. He is strict on gum and cell phones, but I don't see anything wrong with that. If you don't get anything, just ask him and he will help you. Study guide is mandatory, otherwise you won't pass this class at all.

He is one of the greatest instructor's I've had at AVC. He does say alot of stories, but I think they were pretty funny. Especially is drawings. There are 5 tests and a study guide. The lowest test score is dropped. Easy A.

He is a very nice man, but his teaching isn't that great. He loves his stories and I feel he gets way off track and doesn't focus on preparing the class well enough.

Great Teacher! I would recomend gives 5 tests, no midterm, and lowest test score is dropped. He sends you a study guide a week before each test. And the only homework is the key terms that are due at the end of the semester. He has funny stories and you will love his drawings Just don't have your cell phone on in class or chew gum.

Ranish is nice guy. I took his online101. Be prepared to read a lot and write a 400-500 word essay a week. That is 15 total. His exams and quizzes are right outta the textbook. Over all take him, his resume is off the charts and the man loves the subject. His style may be hard, but you learn so much. You losers whom are lazy, should avoid him.

I took his online 101 class. It was very simple. One chapter a week, a short essay and quiz. He is very helpful and will answer any questions you have. Very nice too, I got an 89 in the class but he rounded it up to an A for only missing one assignment all semester.

Didn't think i would like the class i learnd some thing and the class was beyond easy all you had to do was study the test questions that he would give you in advance it was an easy A

Ranish is AWESOME! He replies quickly to emails and is MORE than willing to assist you in whatever you need. This is one class where you get what you put in. Nothing in life is handed to you so if you don't want to do the reading--and there's a lot-- don't whine you didn't learn anything. I learned a lot! GREAT teacher and an AMAZING person!

He was a great teacher. He is clear about what's due when, and if I ever had a problem, I would email him and he'd respond rather quickly. His course is the same every week. Lecture, discussion, and quiz. 3 major tests. He is however, a difficult grader. He'll take points off of your weekly discussions for no apparent reason.

TAKE HIM! Not gonna lie, Im a VERY lazy student and his class was easygoing. 1 Essay, 1 quiz, and a discussion every week. Thats it! Then you have a midterm and final, but that suuuuper easy (*wink wink). I got a C in his class, but thats only because I didnt do 30% of the essays & discussions (whoops, but like I said, Im incredibly lazy).

I took him for the intercession and it was really easy. Of course it was a lot of work since it was a 16 week class taught in 5 weeks, but I recommend him. You will learn a lot. It was just weekly 400 word essays, 3 responses to classmates, quizzes for each chapter and 3 test

I took this as an online course. Very clear expectations. Chapter a week with homework being a 400 word essay on prompts he sends out. 3 comments on other peers essays and a 10 question quiz at the end of the week. EASY! do your ready, write your essay, engage with your peers and you WILL pass. Perfect online course. He replies quickly to emails!

If you have to take POLS 101 I highly recommend his class, the previous class on campus I had to take we had to go to county meetings and meet with the major. This class is quick and easy but it is a lot work but not hard work. I took him for Spring and got a B even tho I missed a couple of assignments.

Take Him! There's a 400 word essay, three discussion response,and a quiz every week. He is straightforward of what he expects and what you need to complete. His class depends all on you so you either put the effort in or you don't. The book is essential in helping right your essays, I definitely used it the whole semester. Not hard to pass with "A"

For each Chapter, there is a 400 word essay, 3 discussion responses to said essay, and a 10 question quiz. The only other assignments are 3 exams per semester. If you are looking for a class that the professor is lecturing and teaching, this isn't for you, however you do have the ability to have good discussions with classmates online. Easy class!

Online only class, great. Each week you knew what was due. Discussion with 3 response and a quiz given out each Friday. Super easy you dont really need the textbook. Only critique would be the test are timed and I always found myself running out of time as you have some response questions. Each week you know what you have due & grades fast

I took professor Ranish summer of 2021. Super easy class. Only annoying part is the 400 word essay every week but you get used to it. Quizzes every Friday. And the exam every few weeks. 99% of the answers of test and quizzes are on quizlet.

Very organized and states very clearly what you need to do. Also, he has excellent communication whenever you need help learning something online. Very simple, all you have to do is read the textbook/outline and write an essay according to the question being asked for each chapter and write three responses for each student's essay on the board.
