Very helpful professor, he would take the time to explain in class anything that was not understood. Excellent teacher. I would recomend him to anyone.

With his scottish accent and dry lame jokes he makes class very interesting. He will take the extra minutes to help you when you have a question, even if it is how to use your calculator. Very straightforward and no surprises. Take him if you can.

Best math teacher I've ever had. You do have to work in his class but you learn more than any math class I've ever been in. He's worth the effort if you plan to move on to math 120 etc.

Easy 4.0, make sure you do some extra intensive work after passing his class if you are going to take 125. Nice person and great teacher, even though he might not have the answer for everything. He is a good guide rather than a solution manual.

This class kicked my A**. I had to constantly ask him to reteach to me the lessons, spent ALL of my extra time and between class time in the Math tutor center. In the end i made a 2.5 when i seriously thought i was going to fail. He is a really nice guy, and always has a joke. Take this class if you need your last math.

This a wonderful professor and I highly recommended taking his classes. As others have said he is always available for extra help and he explains the concepts clearly and understably. The atmosphere in his class is very light-hearted and enjoyable and he always has a joke ready. If you want to enjoy a math class for once, take his.

Donald, is an AWESOME teacher. He is always avalible to help and he teaches so the lame person can understand math. He made me love math. Even though I still have a few classes to go, if I could take him for all of my classes, I would. He's the best. I would take his class over and over again.

Mr.Robertson is the best math teacher I have ever had. He is always there to lend a hand. Keeps great office hours and answers e-mails and phone calls promptly. If you're affraid of math and don't think you're any good, he wil make you believe in yourself. He also tells bad jokes and he knows it, but he makes class fun. He is worth taking!

Mr. Robertson is the professor you want if you're intimidated by math. He speaks English, not "Mathlish." Has a great sense of humor and is a straightforward instructor--do your homework, study what's covered in class, and you should be prepared for the tests. In addition to tests, he quizzes once a week and collects the week's homework weekly.

Nice guy! Very personable and as said before great teacher if you are intimidated by math. He sticks to the syllabus there are no surprises. He uses the even homework problems in class to teach the material which is very nice because the test questions are almost exactly the same just different numbers. Will take him for statistics too!!!

Funny Scotsman Math!

When I took his class, I understood why other's told me to sign up for this professor. He really knows his stuff. He makes the work so understandable that you actually start to like math. I HATED the subject before his class and now, believe it or not, I am always eager to take a test to see how well I score!

This professor is AWESOME!! If you don't like math take his class and you will learn to like math. He takes abstract ideas and shows the class how they are useful. I cannot say enough nice things about this professor. I am not good at math and he helped me understand the material better. If you take his class you will not regret it.

He may have a cool Scottish accent, but he is clearer than most other teachers without an accent. Extremely helpful, with a desire to help his students succeed. He doesn't have unrealistic expectation either, and he gets tests/quizzes back in a TIMELY MANNER. Overall an excellent teacher, 10/10.

Roberston only teach fast if you take him during the summer lol! the weeks are shorter than Fall, Spring, and Winter. Anyways, Roberston is a great professor and inspired me to love math even more. He will give you reviews that will prepare you for your test. In addition, he will help you outside of class. I totally recommend him!

Professor Robertson is THE BEST math teacher Ive ever had! He shows you new and simpler ways to approach math, keeps it simple, and has fun with it. And when things get too thick he has some really awful jokes to lighten the mood! After a few weeks you will find a little Scottish voice talking in your head and saying "ZED"

This is a great professor. He teaches really well, with some humor included, but he is also very fair. Homework is mandatory and tests are of the same level as homework. The final exam was difficult, but he graded it very nicely. You'll regret not taking his class while at Olympic College!

Donald is one of OC's treasures!How can a topic like Stats be entertaining and educational?18 chapters of stats in 8 weeks and I looked forward to every day of class!He knew the material,explained it well,nice structure,and he was dedicated to his students. Before taking stats I dreaded it,but Donald's style makes me want to learn more.

Kept things fun and interesting. His jokes were hilariously terrible. Always explained thouroughly and repatedly if it was needed. Homework was not too demanding, but enough to help you do well on tests and quizzes.

Seriously, rearrange your schedule if necessary; do whatever you have to to take class from Prof. Robertson. He's really that good! Very clear, patient, funny, and just all around good prof.

Loved this class! He walks you through everything so there is no possible way you could get behind unless you don't show up. And you want to show up because he tells the best so bad they're good jokes, and he is scottish. I agree, rearrange your schedule to take math with him!

Donald Robertson makes math less scary. He has a Scottish accent and tells corny but hilarious jokes in between the lessons. I get hives just thinking about math but he makes it fun and I learned a lot. He's really caring and will talk to you in his office and go over things if you need extra time. He's a wonderful professor.

This guy is legit. He gives plenty homework, but as long as you do good on tests, show up for class assignments, and actually try then he will give you a pretty good grade. Plus his wife makes really good cookies/cupcakes.

Excellent instructor! I was scared to take Math 151 but he made class so enjoyable. Tests match up with take-home tests, so there aren't any surprises. He really cares about you doing well in his class. I was sad that I could not take Math 152 from him. Excellent return time on tests, homework and class assignments.

Not very clear with explanations. He's a lenient grader though, and gives very fair exams. Would definitely take him again.

HE RULES! He is a great teacher and is good at testing, (not to hard or to easy). Look up some scottish joke to tell in his class before class starts. (and make sure they are bad). Its always funny to watch him stand there and not laugh after a joke is told.

I took the math class before with a different teacher and had to retake it, only this time with Robertson. He is a very great teacher. There is not a single person in the entire classroom who doesn't like him. Great instructor, very entertaining. He explains things on a level children can understand and makes you laugh while doing it. I especially like how the take home tests were always given on a Friday, before taking the in-class test on Monday. It was a great way to prepare for the test. Wish I could take the rest of my math series with him.

For the first time in my life, I feel confident taking math. Donald is funny, interesting, clear, in-tune with how well the class is understanding the material, and an easy grader compared to the other teachers at Olympic college. For students who feel intimidated by math, Donald is the only teacher I could reccomend.

Mr. Robertson is a students' professor, meaning he wants you to learn and will work with you. His sense of humor, at times deliberately corny, puts the class at ease and humanizes a topic which for many is difficult. He concentrated more on the "how" than the "why," but he covered a lot of material in a comprehensive way. A great asset to Olympic.

I loved this class & usually I really struggle in math. There is 3 tests not including the final. Homework is due once and week and it isn't too much. Attendence isn't apart of your grade but I recommend going because he explains the material so well! He gives take home tests that are the exact format of the real test, so you know what to expect!

I have had Professor Robertson for all 3 calculus courses. He is an amazing professor and very clear in his lectures. Although this quarter he was a bit rude to certain students, you can't go wrong with taking him! I am a master at Calculus thanks to him. His tests can be challenging and also can make mistakes when grading.

Not only does he have an incredible accent, he cracks the corniest jokes as well! I'm quite the pun enthusiast myself so the jokes are deeply appreciated. He's very patient and makes the lectures easy to understand. If you don't understand something too well, no worries! He's very approachable & answers your questions to the best of his abilities.

Overall, he's a wonderful instructor. He will clarify any confusion to the best of his abilities. He says that attendance is not graded; however, the more you're there, he adds point to your grades -- which definitely has helped me out! Besides, if you skip a class, you'll seriously regret it. He is a good TEACHER. He will break down the concepts to the level of the class. If you are not at the level, feel free to ask questions because he will stop his lecture to make sure that you understand. Everything was graded fairly. This class has HW, even at the higher levels; which only will boost your grade.

Assigns daily homework from the textbook and grades them daily which was helpful. Fun to listen to. He takes breaks during lectures to tell corny jokes and will sometimes give students a chance to tell a joke. He's very helpful and patient and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking clarity.

Only 3 tests and 30% of it is a take home. Pretty easy if you just pay attention. If you don't understand something (like simple algebra) he won't make you feel dumb, he will explain it. Homework only due Monday's. Tells joke 10% of the class period. I LOVE THIS PROF. I GOT A 4.0 and I feel like I did minimal work.

I've taken Robertson for calculus 2 and 3, but it was not until calculus 3 that I truly appreciated what an awesome professor he is. After having failed calculus 3 with another professor, I took the chance to take Robertson's class immediately. Seriously, if you have any classes you can take with him, do it. He's easy to understand and funny, too!

Robertson is a great professor. He is very clear with material, and he is an easy grader. Gives tons of review at the end of the quarter. Can be kind of scatter brainedbut makes up for it with some great jokes

The class is set up very simply. Homework every week and projects before tests. Robertson is hilarious and can tell when it is okay to move on or when to slow down and continue on examples. The only thing that I didn't like was the lack of technology. Robertson keeps it old school.

Great professor for Calc I if math is an intimidating subject for you. He has a way of simplifying things and making it a whole lot less scary. If you have to take a lot of math - say through Calc 3 or above- take professor Howell. Robertson is funny, kind and fair but he tends to over simplify and this may cause confusion for you down the line.

Awesome Teacher!

Prof Robertson is from Scotland and has an awesome accent that isn't hard to understand at all. He is very knowledgable and is willing to help if you ever get stuck. He likes to take breaks to tell jokes which is helpful during a 3 hour night class. There's a lot of homework and if you actually do it and try, it helps a lot when taking tests.

Absolutely loved him. His Scottish accent is amazing too. You totally hear his accent in your head when doing the work. I would recommend him for Stats. Very knowledgeable, whole lot of work and homework is a must to pass.

Great teacher. A lot of fun, and willing to work with you. I had a few issues during the quarter, and he was very understanding. His help is always accompanied with a smile, and sometimes a joke. I'd recommend him to anyone for any math. If you want to take his class, sign up early, they always fill up fast. That should say something in of itself.

best math professor at OC. definitely cares about his students and is willing to help. he gives projects that prepare you for the tests so if you study those, youll do great! he gives 10 hw assignments and then drops the lowest two scores. just pay attention, take good notes, and youll do fine

He is an awesome teacher. His homework assignments are simple, relatively easy, and well explained. Homework is pretty short and only due once a week. He explains all of his concepts in class well too. He does not test on, or give homework for, anything that he has not taught specifically in class. He is a fun professor and a good teacher.

Robertson is hands-down the best professor I have had at Olympic College. He made difficult lessons much easier to comprehend and was hands-on during lectures. If you appreciate examples when learning math, Robertson is the one for you!

His lectures consist of multiple example problems that everyone goes over in class, but you have to check in the book to keep track of what section you're on. He usually gives a take home "exam" before the in class test and has a review day before tests. HW every week. Pretty easy to follow and is always happy to help if you have questions.

Great proffeser excellent teching methods

I am already going to another college and I wish they had a Donald Robertson there too because he is the most amazing professor you could have. He just makes calculus easy and he understands that he is teaching to college level students and not doctors (like many math professors do). He's that kind of professor you won't forget.

I've had him for much of the Calculus series by choice due to his teaching style. He's a great teacher and very knowledgable and passionate about mathematics. His lectures consist of going over the homework problems and working them out so it is easy to see the process of working them out. No quizzes, just homework assignments and tests.

Hes great! Its a miracle to teach me math but he did it!!! Hes engaging and his accent/jokes make the class entertaining and enjoyable. Hes a smart man!! And he knows how to teach very well. 10/10 recommended if you struggle at all with math. Hes incredibly patient!

Professor Robertson is a super nice and funny teacher. Attendance isn't mandatory but he teaches new concepts every day. He teaches math in a visual way, which is good for those who learn best that way. I'm not a visual learner and usually need a clearer structure, but between his lectures and the book I was able to pick up the material no problem.

The lvl of diff. really depends on your math skills, but he was always very helpful to me whenever I would ask him questions. Math isn't my strong suit AT ALL, but I still did very well in the class following his feedback. The midterm and final are pretty heavily weighted for your grade30%,40% And he's Scottish and funny so that was cool lol.

You will need to get a lot of information from the textbook to fully understand the concepts and may need to find videos online to help. He provides optional lectures for certain topics which can be very helpful to watch. Majority of your grade will be based on your midterm and final exam scores. Very nice but firm professor.

You wont regret coming to lectures. He gives SO many examples that we work through together. TAKE NOTES. There's joke breaks in the middle of lecture and it really helps lighten the load. Prof. Robertson is one of the best professors I've ever had. However, I struggle with math so this class was a tough one for me. The hw wasn't too difficult as long as you pay attention in class, but the 3 tests were surprisingly difficult. The final is also heavily weighted. So is participation so it is extremely important that you go to class.

He is humble, kind, patient, and knowledgeable which makes him the most approachable teacher I have ever had. His classes can have dense subject matter but he makes it very accessible to his students without dumbing it down or patronizing you. To do your best, attend his lectures since they are enjoyable and easy to learn from. He is very likeable.

Professor Robertson is a great guy. He teaches calc so conversationally that it is much easier to pick up on than any other calc teacher I've had. Easy language for calc plus great dad jokes make him a fantastic professor. Bonus: he's also really caring and is extremely helpful if you need any help.

I had him on Zoom and he is so funny, he has a Scottish accent which makes him even funnier. He gives extra credit each week for turning in your assignments on time. We had three big tests each were 25% of your grade but he dropped the test you had the worst grade in. We had no "final" it was just another test. Homework is super easy you get 5 trys

Professor Robertson is fantastic if you want to learn math in a funny and simple environment. Lecture starts with an introduction of the concept, then he shows different variations of your homework problems. Turn things in on time and be sure to actually study for the final because it's worth a significant portion of your grade.

Professor Robertson is easily one of the best Mathematics Professor I have ever had. His lectures are conversation based so its more talking together than being talked to. His grading is very clear and he is lenient when it comes to partial credit especially if all your steps are correct but your answer isn't. He's an amazing Professor!

I love the way professor Robertson teaches but I will admit I definitely had to utilize office hours/tutoring multiple times a week. However, I actually feel like I learned the material. He is super funny and approachable. Definitely need to go to class every day. If you do all of your assignments and go to class, I think it would be hard to fail.

An amazing teacher. I enjoy his teaching methods. He does his best with jokes and he can get you laughing or chuckling unexpectedly.

I loved the experience. We had class every day, but coming into school was fun because of him. He is always cracking jokes and lighting up the mood. He was readily available when I needed extra help, and explained the material in a very easy way to understand. The class was hybrid, with (plenty of) homework due on webassign every Sunday.

I withdrew from Prof. Robertson's (last! D:) Calc II class for personal reasons but for the month or so I had him he was terrific. A wonderful teacher, kind (but challenging) grader, and *chefs kiss* that wonderful Scottish brogue lol I wish I could could have him back!
