Horrible teacher!!
hes not bad but likes discussion, he hates when people wont participate
tough book, but a good teacher and if you want to learn something, you will
hard course but he doesn't teach a lot, but answers well when ask something
great guy
very understanding; sweet man
cool teacher as long as aleast act like your interested. tests are crazy...
Lectures and book make perfect sense, but the exams don't
Great examples. Humorous. Great class. You have to read and participate and he has pet peeves. Overall, nice class
GREAT TEACHER. GIVES PRACTICAL EXAMPLES. THROWS CURVE **** ON EXAMS, BUT IS FUN TO LISTEN TO. WILL HELP WITH ANYTHING! YOU MUST READ YOUR BOOK AND PARTICIPATE. HATES CELL PHONES TOO!
Great guy, great teacher. My performance in his class was average but it wasn’t due to Dr. Rosenberg’s failings, I just really hated tax :)
not bad as long as u read
aggrevating class. book is easy to understand but the tests have tricky wording and absolutly no correlation to what you discuss in class. tests are the only thing that you are graded on besides attendance which he keeps track of with a seating chart!
To get an A, you must read everything he says and take a lot of notes. He is a nice guy, but you definitely have to work.
material is easy but exams are tricky. spends too much time going over cases.
Great guy... has pet peeves like you wouldn't believe. Tests are a little tricky but if you take this class and pay attention, you'll learn a lot. He uses great examples and takes a good amount of time to explain things so everyone understands. Good class
Good class. Interesting lectures, tests really are not bad. Concepts pretty common sense. DO NOT LET YOUR CELL PHONE GO OFF IN CLASS!!
Here's how I passed this class: go to class and pay attention, you can choose to take notes if it makes you feel better (i didn't), and the day before the exam go to the library and go over every chapter review question...I got As on my exams. Nice guy.
Don't let him fool you, he's really a nice guy. Don't bother memorizing material for tests, you just need to know the concepts and go from there.
Very weird teacher. He has too many pet peeves and is O.C.D. Normal students should not take this course. Very unhelpful. Classes are EXTREMELY boring.
easy teacher...don't have to take notes...just study concepts the night before the test
Tests are extremely hard- trick questions (no matter what he says)! Rude to the class. Doesnt really teach. It is pretty much a guess as to what will be on his tests. He wants lots of CLASS PARTICIPATION! Do the tax memo or he will not curve your grade!
The tests are based on the law not numbers. He makes sure you know exactly what the law is not have a vague idea. The words "may" and "must" make a big difference.
I see what everyone's writing, and i cant beleive it. This teacher sucks, he's hard, he takes attendance with a seating chart, and ur only graded on 3 tests. I DID look over my **** before the test, and I still managed to get a D in the class....
Comes off as a tough guy... but really helpful and give real world examples. I feel i have a better grasp of what ill need in the future after his class...
Very funny teacher, rough book though, not an easy A but if you do the work he'll curve your grade.
He has way to many peeves, and makes you feel uncomfortable in class. I learned a lot from him but it was hard process. Grade depends on just 3 tests....i dont like that
He explains every thing very clearly. If he spend much time on one suject, you better study because it might be 50% of the test. Good class, but hard test. Heard Hammer is easier.
Enjoyed the class. Tests are tough but as he stresses, the tests are not the important part of the class. Learn a good amount, information is very useful. Can be humorous, don't ****him off though, he'll let you know. Good guy, accept the challenge.
tricky exams, boring book, curves final grade
TURN YOUR CELL PHONE OFF, don't put your feet up, don't drink from a bottle, don't make noise, on time, participate a little, and he'll love you. I promise. He's really a sweet guy. Not terribly easy - but follow the guidelines above and you're good to go.
Talkes like Ben Stein. If you aren't interested in Law, don't take him. He takes attendance and assigns seats. You can only drink out of a cup in his class, no bottles, he says it's like a business meeting. DO NOT LET YOU CELL PHONE RING.
he has way too many pet peeves and he sux. He is very unhelpful and refuses to talk over the internet. He acts like professors at your disposle all the time. He must have OCD.

He always offers a question to your question. Worse then John Kerry in that aspect. Adding to the cell phone and drinking deal, thou shall not disturbith thy class in any manner what so ever. He won't let you go to the bathroom, so if you've gotta go squat in the corner. His first test was easy.
Lives to make students irritated
Dr. Rosenberg does an excellent job explaining a tough boring subject. You come out of the class with a good understanding of how the tax code works and the law operates. Expects that you read ahead and contribute to class discussions and always do H/W. Tests are tough but not impossible
May seem to have some really strange rules but if you pay attention in class and read the book you do not need to study a bit for any test. Just participate and show up and he gives you five percentage points. Really funny examples too. Definitely try to get him.
Go to class, pay attention, take good notes then apply what you've learnt to the cases on the test and you will be just fine.....I promise!
He's a little anal about little things (drinking in class, feet on the chair, etc.) but a good teacher. Sometimes is a little bias in his opinions but fair with grading. Participation in class will take you far.
Very monotone, has a lot of pet peeves, don't let you cell ring its -5 right away. His tests were very hard and no curves, you need to read the book to do well. I wish I had taken a different legal teacher, i do not recommend him.
Good teacher of hard material. Take good notes in class. Study that and you will have most of the test down. Do the homework before class. Curves the final grade. Thought I was getting a C- and ended up with a B.
He is a great teacher! Take him if you want to learn. Got an A minus. Talk in the class and show off your knowledge. That really helps to boost your grade up. He is very friendly and helpful. You will leave the class actually learning something. You got to love his lawyer style of teaching. Fun class. Just be confident when you talk.
DONT LET YOUR CELL PHONE RING! For heaven sakes and do not DRINK ANYTHING. But other than that the guy is funny. The stories he uses to illustrate something are always amusing. The first exam was not that bad pretty self explanatory. Oh and make sure that you stay in your assigned seat! Take him if you want listen to classmates questions all class.
Took this class a few years ago and now I'm in law school. If anyone is looking at this thinking about law school for the future, I recommend his class. The way he runs the class is a little like a typical law class and honestly, even just a few of the tidbits of knowledge we got out of there have been somewhat helpful for me since law school began
Terrible teacher, hard to understand, talks funny, hard test even though multiple choice and true and false...but only three...everyone in my class hates this guy, definitly wouldn't recommend taking this class
This teacher is good. He doesn't make it easy but the tests are not extremely hard. Read and study u should pass, gives good examples and is funny...takes too long to go over chapters though, may get behind.
The first test is the easiest. A word of advice: Participate! He is a good guy at heart, whatever his quirks. He does curve at the end. You may not have a choice in this class in who you take, so I recommend studying hard. Unfortunately, there is a lot of information to take in, and multiple choice tests always suck.
Ok, relax. Dr. Rosenberg is a nice guy with a bark worse than his bite. He is old school but aware. He emphasizes practicality but gives awful multiple choice tests. Participate! He likes this and this really can help your final grade. He does curve, thank goodness.
talks funny and not that loud. hard to hear what he's saying sometimes. it was a boring class and text book. goes at a very fast pace. very hard tests (tricky multiple choice questions with 5-6 choices). I ended up withdrawing the subject. but he's pretty nice.
He's very pressed about drinking from bottles. Talks with a funny California accent. Interesting material and very tricky test. Not a bad guy overall
Good guy, very monotone though. Dont attempt to drink from a water bottle though, will eat u alive if u do. class isn't to bad, gotta read the txt book to do well though
nice guy, easy if you know anything about law. must get the book tho bc you will need it. starts off slow and speeds up as the semester goes on.if you show up to class and dont let your phone go off or drink/eat in the class youll do fine.
His favorite quote is "The Law" He's a good guy and knows his**** but he sux. Class if sooo boring, excepts you to read ahead, exams are hard! Basically, automatic C in that class. Take Hammer if you can! This class sux! Text book is sooo boring, buy the little blue book and read that. You get assigned seats as well.
Prob the worst class ive taken in acct but i didnt break 50 as a test avg going into the final an i def didnt pass the final with a 100 cus i ended up wtih a C just for going to everyclass if you have perfect attendance and dont act like an idiot he passes you.
Professor: Good explanation, good examples. Book: Extremely boring and difficult to comprehend. Tests: Hardest I have taken in my life. Class Overall: Interesting, but difficult.
Friendly guy when you talk to him individually, but if you're rude in class or arent following the discussion he may call you out on it. Class participation is necessary. Grade made of 3 equal tests, then a couple percent for attendance and volunteering answers. He uses very extreme examples, which often is funny.
EXTREMELY ANAL! Dont drink from bottles. Dont let your cell phone go off in class (automatic 5 percent off your grade). First test is easy but second is alot harder. I would avoid him.. but if you can't definatley study!!! He's not a bad guy.. but we got behind and he had to go over 5 chapters in 4 classes. DONT SKIP THIS CLASS!
Probably one of the hardest accounting classes. Show up to every class as his lecture and stories help out you understand what hes talking about. Participate as much as you can. His tests are all multiple choice and are very hard (answers are too similar to each other). Good teacher just very hard tests.
Dry sense of humor that can be funny at times. You have to read and participate in order to do well. He assumes you understand everything after you've read it. Big on case studies. 3 tests, multiple choice/true false.
Read ahead. If you read the book and work the homework, you can get more out of the class discussions. They're informative and you can get good notes from them. Tricky tests though, so it may require a fair amount of time. Enjoyable class periods though, good approach to the material too.
I really enjoyed this class! The material is ETREMELY difficult, but he makes it easier to understand with his examples. He is HUGE on participation, so read ahead!!! He is probably the most qualified instructor to teach this class because he also has his law degree.
Material is very difficult but Rosenberg makes it manageable. Tests are very difficult t/f m/c.Don?t miss class you?ll come out feeling like a tax wiz. HW is not collected but if you answer some questions you?ll definitely earn some participation points. This class is time consuming, don?t take it if you don?t have the time to devote to it!
This class is probably be one of the most difficult classes in your college education. It is not because of the professor because Dr. Rosenberg is a really good one, but it is the material. This material is why the accounting major is one of the most difficult majors at Towson. Overall, the class is interesting and at first you may think that Dr
This class is extremely hard but he is a great teacher. 3 tests t/f m/c. Very tricky tests. He is willing to help and fun to talk to. Participation is everything in the end becuase the whole class fails every test.
I'm probably in the minority by saying this but I liked Rosenberg. When explaining the law he used wild examples which were funny. A few negatives though. Weird rules like no water bottles and you cant leave class or u will get marked down. Reading the textbook is necessary because he doesn't cover everything in class.
You love him, or you hate him. The best professor I have ever met in Towson. Extremely hard class, read almost every page of the book ,finish all the homework, participate a lot, and you will feel more confident doing your own tax return. Very tricky exams, maybe most of the class will get C in the end, but A is possible for the lucky one.
Don't take him. If you are among one of his favorites, you will end up getting A or you will get a C but you will not fail. Attendance mandatory. Tests Hard. The average for the test would be around 52. The highest score in the exam would be around 70. If you are his favorite, you will get an A otherwise expect to get a C.
Treat the class like he treats it. The way he treats it is, "that's the law." Everything in the class is based on legislation not philosophy. Spend time practicing the math as he will not, but will test on it. It is a specialized law class.
This is a hard class. It was VERY dry as was he, and I never looked forward to going. We had to sit in the seats he assigned us. No drinks. If you answered the question wrong when he calls on you, he made fun of you, so NOBODY answered questions except 2 people (which were his favorites). I got a C. Figures.
He is not helpful at all and is always came to class late.
This class is extremely hard, but you will learn the material. He is a really good teacher and tells you what you need to know(in life and for the test). Rosenberg is a really good teacher and I wouldn't have wanted to have anyone different for tax accounting.
Face it this is not an easy class. Rosenberg IS the guy you want to learn it from. You need to study material that makes no sense, then when you go to class he will clarify it all. Exams will leave you dazed and confused, but you will get a curve that wont make sense at first but its good. This is a rough class good luck!
He is the best teacher in Towson. His tests are hard, but he curves everyone's grades. Listen to what he says in class and you'll do well on the tests. You may not get an A in his class, but you will definitely take a lot from it. This class is worth every penny. I would recommend you take the class with Rosenberg...and ONLY Rosenberg!
Who in their right mind would like this class? If you're seen with bottled drink or on a cellphone he will mentally dock you a grade. Everyone is scared in his class. He comes late, assigned seating for tests. Hard to have a discussion b/c he wants to go. Tests IMPOSSIBLE. You're lucky to get C+/B on the major & necessary curve.+ Homework. Run 4 it
Hard Class but follow his instructions, do the homework, take notes, ask questions, participate in class and you will succeed in his class
He explains the information well it is just a hard course in general because there is a lot of information. If you show up to class and study your notes it is an easy B, if you read the book as well you should be able to get an A
Tax is hard. Rosenberg tells you that the first day and throughout the semester. Take good notes, read the books and participate in class and you will not fail. He really wants to help students who help themselves and want to learn.
This is going to be a hard class no matter who teaches it. He does a great job conveying the information and explaining what is important. He's helpful but it requires a lot of work to succeed. Follow his rules and get him to know your name. Take notes and pay attention.
This class maybe the most useful class I have taken. I learned more than I could have imagined. This class is very hard and time consuming, however any tax class would be the same way. If Rosenberg taught tax 2 I would defiantly choose him again.
He is a very intelligent man. He knows the material and the real world. Tax is hard and has alot going on, but he picks the main concepts and tell you what to focus. about 80% of test comes from his lecture and notes. Focus on those and read and understand related parts in the book and IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET AN A from him b'c I did it.
No doubt, Rosenberg's Tax course is tough. You should attend classes, participate, take notes, do homework, and study hard. You should never drink out of a water bottle in his classroom, chew gum, or ever pull out your phone. He has a very dry sense of humor that I'd say less than half of the class actually gets. Make the effort, and he'll notice.
Rosenberg is a tough professor, but he means well and is extremely clear on his expectations from the first day of class. Not a professor for those that are extremely emotional, but he knows his stuff and takes note of effort. Do not miss class and participate even if you get the wrong answer. If you don't do well in his course go to office hours and ask questions. There is a major curve at the end of the semester.
Tough exams. Professor expects students to read the chapter before class and then hits the main points of the chapter in class. What he goes over in class is what is typically on the exam.
Rosenberg is notorious for being a tough professor but he is really good. If you follow his requirement closely, you will be fine. It's a very hard class but you will leave with so much more than what you came with. He explains very well. Read the chapters, ask questions, and read all the chapters again before the exam. You will pass with an A
He's a good teacher, but certainly not nice. He will call you out and make a fool of you. However he tends to make a fool of everyone. You won't be alone. Stay ahead of your fellow students and you get a decent grade. An A- is possible, because that's what I got. Most of your peers will get a C or B. Study his lectures before exam. Sucking up helps
Comes across as a scary, crusty old professor. Really cares about his students though. Excellent at teaching material. Don't expect an A, but you'll probably learn more from his class than anther professor at Towson. Highly recommended. Come prepared to every class and you'll be fine.
