The man has handed out more crap than all of my professors ever have combined!
Hands out at least a tree's worth of paper each class period -- however you learn a lot in the class. Very interesting overall.
He made economics really interesting for me, he does have a lot of handouts though

Hes a cool guy.
Professor Wargo is enthusiastic while teaching and he brings to class relevant material that is important to know.
The guy needs to reinvest all his retirement funds towards rainforest development. Gives out approximately 3000 pages per student. Tends to be incoherent while teaching but you will be able to follow the lecture provided you keep up with the required reading.
Very helpful teacher, but unclear. It is hard to keep up with the learning but he is willing to help anytime, and gives extra credit. very nice person.

Definetly knows his stuff, is very good teacher will learn alot. Economics can be a very dry and hard subject but he makes the best of it. Alot of reading, literally he is the Rainforest's number one enemy.
Very good teacher a lot of work to keep track of but minimal testing (mid term and final) so you do not have to focus too much on things. He gave us test questions to study from and then put a range of them on the actual test. I jsut memorized the questions, and was able to get an easy A.
He has BY FAR the most well-prepared class i have ever had....printed hand-outs, PP slides, the whole 9. VERY lenient grader. gives extra credit like its no one's business. I RECOMMEND HIM!
i absolutely HATE economics but Wargo made the class fun for me. If you are forced to take economics but hate the subject, he is the teacher for you. He concentrates more on world economic development with a lot of interesting reading, instead of the same old chart and boring books economics classes usually offer.
Prof. Wargo is extremely well prepared and knowledeable. I learned more in his class in one semester than any other economics course I have taken. I suggest that everyone that must take an economics course, take it with him.

Everything stated below is true. Great teacher, Easy A
Professor Wargo is really all you've heard and more. I can't put into words how disinterested I was in economics before taking his class. Wargo made it so easy to learn by giving real life examples rather than incomprehensible charts. He was always very prepared and extremely nice. Take him... seriously!
Great teacher. He teaches you a lot and applies theories to real life situations. His homeworks and tests are a breeze.
cool!!! take him.he is easy and best.you got essaly A or B.
He is simple great teacher. This course is a joke. He explains everything in detail and the class is fun. However, one think I didn't like is that he never gave us our analysis papers back so you don't get to know what you got until the end of the semister. But the good thing is, you can submit the papers when you want.
Ok so I would recommend him if you have previous exposure to economics because he bascially teaches the same 8 topics all semester--in almost too much detail. really redundant but nice and it is a pretty easy A/B but dont blow it off because i think he kept our attendance in mind even though had us sign an attendance sheet until the 3rd to last wee
Easy class. Even though the subject matter, at least for me, is so so boring, he at least presents it in a way that at least holds your attention. Its easy to slack off but just show up, read at some point, and you'll get an A.
He is simply the best...he's one of those professors that are actually tryin to educate as opposed to testin u on crap that u will forget anyways...easy A as long as u do everything u're supposed to...if u dont do good, that means u really didnt try...plus, always go to class..it could be the difference between a B+ and an A-
Greatest professor! asks for class feedback every week and actually listens to it. Is extremely fair. I hate economics and I passed with an A! He drops the lowest test grade and homework is really easy. Attendance is taken sometimes. Relates economics to everyone's future professions. Definitely take his class if you can.
Great teacher genuinely interested in the opinions of the students. No heavy work just show up, participate alittle and you'll get a good grade.
One of the best professors in the business school. He is hilarious, sort of weird too. Never took attendance but everyone still came to class. He also gives many extra credit opportunities. If you can, REGISTER for his class before any other Econ 51 class. You will learn a lot.
The guy seems insaint, but not too bad. Makes us talk about the same stupid stuff over and over and over again. Never lets anyone leave early, to make sure we all waist our time together :) Besides that, easy class.
Highly recommended. Dr. Wargo is the reason I chose economics to be my major. Willing to meet out of class to help, not only with work for his class. He advised me during a business project. Take the time to talk to him, very cool dude. TAKE HIS CLASS.
Wargo is an awesome teacher.!! His class was soo easy, and at the same time fun. There were 2 analysis papers and bunch of debates. The only thing that I didn’t like about him was that he used to email us HW on Sunday night, which was due on Monday. If he fits your schedule take he for the BA215, its going to be the easiest A youve ever gotten!

talked about evolution and the "big bang" a little. what that has to do with economics, i don't know. otherwise, a very good professor.
awesome teacher...relates econ to real life events in your life that will stick out in your head and help you on tests! tests are easy. some questions are from the study guide. if you just sit through his class and look over some questions night before you will get an A. he makes econ understandble. great guy.
easy class that you get to apply to real world issues. if you take the class assignments and complete them well, and put a little effort into your homework you will for sure get an A. class is interesting and he makes you interested.
Great Teacher, one of the best professors I've had at Temple, cares a lot about his students and applies real world economics every class. If you can get him try your best. He will do anything he can for your well being.
Great Professor. Always tries to keep class interesting. Applies real life to economics.Easy tests if you study.Provides ample amount of material.Powerpoints,lectures,myeconlab.not much homework.cares about students and very understanding :)

A+++++... Very good interesting teacher, he applies real world life situations to ordinary macroeconomics. If you are interested in business or learning about Econ he is very committed to your learning. He will help you as much as possible to do well in the class. Take him, easy A, EX work!!
Before taking this test I read these ratings and there a joke! Hard Teacher! Doesn't teach materal in class, test are hard! theres other easier macro teachers so don't take him!
class is hard bt he is easy. three test and a final he drops one of the three tests there are some hw to hand in and there are online hw bt online hw u can do it untill u get it right. and give extra credits i was in a large class so there was no attends. i cant see it getting easier take him if he is open and u need his class. i got an easy A-.
This guy is total nut. Talks about really weird stuff that doesn't apply. Puts on movies and sits there. We gave presentations and the first group was always favored. He gives everyone B+ all semester and then just give some grades at the end. If you work really hard at the end of the semester on the final items...should be ok.(I got an unexpected A
Theses rating really are a joke! lectures were somewhat interesting, but never covered what was on te test... no need to attend class its a waste of time.. this is basiclyy a teach yourself type of course!... good luck!
He is so easy, i failed once before and had to take this class again. i got a B+. He tries to help his students out and he sometimes makes econ interesting. Test are somewhat hard but not impossible. I hate econ and im very glad i took him to get it done and over with. He is easy, take him
Awesome teacher!! i withdrew from an econ class with Sienenstate! Wargo is an amazing professor. Study his practice exams. Easy A+++
wargo is boss. relates material to real life topics. we even spent a day talking about the economics of lap dancing. tests are really easy, just study the practice exams. As for attendance, go when you want. No attendance is taken, and everything is on blackboard.
I do not consider this class an easy A unless you STUDY (duh). His lectures rarely relate to the material on the tests. There are no incentives to go to class (no attendance taken/lectures posted to blackboard). He is arrogrant and annoying. BUT he is helpful because he will drop the lowest quiz grade, gives extra credit, and the hw is easy points.
Very hard class but he gives you oppurtunities to do well. Tests are very difficult because he does not review most of the topics in class. Gives tons of extra credit and homework is easy points. You really don't have to go to class. He's a good guy and wants you to do well. So besides the hard tests... it's not a bad class.
Dr Wargo is probably the smartest prof I have had at Temple. His class is very hard though. Disorganized at times but doesn't take attendence or care if you come to class. Pretty much gives everyone a 95% or better on your HW grade if you complete them all.Keeps the class longer then scheduled time but is really nice guy and tries to help everyone.
Well this is all i have to say.His class is at 8:40 in the morning for me & it is a waste of time.He never talks about the readings from the wk. all he cares about is updating news. This is my best comparision for u, its like learning a new vocab word,u dont know the meaning yet, but he constantly says the word like your automatically suppose to kno
Well he isnt the worst teacher but he isnt the best. His teaching skills kill me because I never get what he is talking about. You just have to put the effort for his class...seriously
He isnt the worst teacher but he also isnt the best. If you want to pass this class you have to put in the effort..seriously
I love this guy. He may be one of the best teachers. He isn't to clear in class but if you ask for help, he is always there. Gives extra credit like crazy. Wants you to pass, seriously!
had him for macroeconomics. he's a very helpful guy, very easy to talk to and makes it open to ask questions. however most of his class is spent on him talking about current events/economics today rather than whats on the syllabus, so in order to do well you need to read the textbook! tests arent hard, class gets a lil boring but a very nice guy..
This teacher is a wonderful and smart man. I had him fall of 09. He is so passionate about the subject and very interesting to listen to. If you can take this class!!!!!!
Very easy and awesome professor!!! Tests are all multiple choice, which is the easiest for economics. He gives up to 6 points extra credit on your average based on what you score on practice home work. He drops your lowest grade. Only thing is he doesn't teach too much from the book so u have to study book and notes.
This guy will answer every one of your questions in great detail to ensure that every student understands the subject material. Class is not mandatory but highly encouraged. Gives mc tests, up to 6% of extra credit, and occasionally take home/open note tests. Great, smart guy who makes u work for ur grade but is pretty leniant
Great teacher. Very knowledgeable person. People that did not do good in class never opened their book. He is also a great guy.
Fantastic teacher, makes economics interesting!!! I had never had econ before in H.S., but he made it an easy learning process with a solid introduction. HIGHLIGHTS: Freakonomics Fridays and up to 6 points extra credit added to FINAL GRADE! (really easy to get) From what I've heard, this is the best econ teacher to get!
While it may be difficult for some students to stay awake in class, his lectures are extremely interesting and very relevant to today's world. He adapts economics to everyone's interests and majors and he is willing to cooperate if you are struggling- just do all of the HW and the extra credits and you will get 6 points added to your final grade.
There's a good side, and bad side to him. Good: He's interesting, a fun teacher, uses MyEconLab and lets you redo it til you get a 100% Bad: He doesn't teach ECONOMICS. I learned more about the human brain in his class than I did about the economy. His tests are hard if you don't teach yourself the material. MAKE SURE HE GIVES YOU A TAKEHOME FINAL
Awesome professor. He gives you 3 chances to have extra credit and lets you redo homework problems online until you get them correct. He spent over an hour helping me outside of class understand a section I was having difficulty with. He makes class interesting.
You have to teach yourself alot of the material. Not a hard thing to do. Myeconlab makes getting 100% on HW a piece of cake. Just take all of the HW pre-test and extra credit serious. The pretest mirror the real test. I found the class intresting but 80% of the clas was either no shows or sleep. Easy A
he means well, wants us to learn & calls us his apprentices. doesn't teach often; have to teach yourself. the online hw & practice tests help you learn it. he doesnt take role. just gotta do the work, which isnt too much
you will learn nothing from taking his class
He may be a little unorthodox when it comes to his methods but with like any course you have to read the book for the lectures to make sense. He may deviate at times but that's because he's passionate. If you do the extra credit, and all the assignments and FAIL every test you can get a B. He's an even grader and pretty fair.
Great teacher! Little crazy, but very easy to pass his class. Just ask to do take home exams and he will do it. Easy to understand and cares about your passing the class and actually learning things. Much better than my Micro teacher was and I easily learned Economics from Professor Wargo
Great guy, great teacher. Actually cares about students and their grades/interest. Only thing though, he is corny sometimes and boring, but I will deff recommend him.
You will teacher yourself in this class and learn nothing from the class. He uses real world examples and gets sidetrack and then doesn't teach. He just uses the powerpoint slides given by the book. He gives take home test but I never learned anything from them. He is not a good teacher.
You definitely have to teach yourself absolutely everything, because he does not teach. There's really no point coming to class except for maybe the first lecture. Half the exams are take-home, and plenty of extra credit. Very nice and funny guy, but not a good teacher. I put forward absolutely minimal effort and got a high B.
Professor Wargo is an amazing professor. He is very passionate about what he teaches, and you learn a great deal. I have taken four of his classes and really enjoyed his teaching methods, and classes. If you are majoring or minoring in Economics definitely take his Behavioral Economics class.
I took him for Econ 1102 and I wished I took him for Econ 1101 as well. He is a nice man and very understanding. Sometimes his tests are take home, and he offers extra credit after every exam which adds onto your final!
I took him for an online Macroecon class. He is a good professor but the online myeconlab exam was tough.
I also took Behavioral economics and Microeconomics with him. GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!!!!!! There is a lot of reading and paper writing, but he is really fair and understanding. One of the best professors I have had.
I loved Dr. Wargo. He is such a nice guy and as long as you read the book you'll be fine. He doesn't just teach Economics, he teaches about anything you want to know about. Definitely take him if you have the chance.
Awesome teacher! relates econ to real life events in your life that will stick out in your head and help you on tests! His TA is pretty cool too, he looks like a Jcrew model.
He is a good pro. I took his online class, it's very easy. I am a not good student, but I still got a A-. Use Mylab do some HW, quiz, and exam. You can check answer every time. No limite on every exam. You know, get his class, you must be get A grade.
Really nice guy and has the best intentions, but hard to follow in lecture and even harder to retain knowledge. Pretty easy to get high grade, but nearly impossible to learn.
Lol, He made me laugh ever lecture. The only 9 AM class I ever enjoyed. Excellent person/professor. I am an Econ Major and I learned alot. Highly recommended. This man is a legend.
His was one of my first Online classes. He kept each lecture interesting and used the online econ lab homework as a teaching tool, not just a grading tool. I wish all online classes were taught this way.
Best Prof. ever! The easiest online class I ever took. This guy is a legend!!!
Took his macroecon class online and hated it! All he does is sit and eat on his computer and attempts to explain the material through a webcam. you're better off teaching yourself the entire course
He seems like a nice guy but the structure of the online class just does not work. You will be teaching yourself most of the concepts and will be stuck to a computer for a long time. All of the work is through the textbook's online program. If you must take this class online, I'd suggest to watch YouTube videos on the topic; try to take on campus!
He expects us to understand concepts prior to his "teaching," which consists of him talking about current events (exclusively). He would probably be amazing at teaching a higher level of economics, but I am so lost in this intro class seeing as how I knew very little prior to taking this class, and I can't say I know much more now. But he's nice.
He's a really nice guy, but he's not the best at teaching the material. If you truly want to learn & understand, you're either gonna need to ask a million questions for clarification during class or read straight out of the textbook on your own time. He does his best to relate what you're learning to current events, so that's nice.
Doc Wargo, as he calls himself, was great to have as a teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable in economics. Classes were spent talking about interesting real world stuff, but pretty unrelated to what we were tested on. He tries to hide his political bias when talking about policies, etc, but is terrible at it. Tests are online, the class is cake.
He is an extremely nice guy and very funny. It was not an online class but every exam and homework were online and you can take them more than once. The class is an easy A if you do the homework prior to taking the exam. Although the things he teaches in class are not that helpful for the homework/exams.
The material he teaches in class has nothing to do with homework or tests. Homework and tests are still easy. Gives off a strange vibe in class. Tends to single out the international students. Still a nice guy otherwise.
I took this class online, the material is definitely hard but he gives unlimited attempts and time for homework and he gives two attempts for exams, it doesnt get any better than that.
Cares a lot about helping students succeed, and has some pretty interesting lectures. He's a little unorthodox, but it's easy enough to do well in his class, and he goes out of his way to help students take advantage of some great opportunities.
Great professor, easy overall
His behavior is a little erratic but he's actually a cool guy. He really cares if his students learn what he is teaching. Lectures last from the second you walk in to the second you walk out. Tests and homework are all online. No cumulative midterm or final. Take him if you want an econ class that is a bit easier.
Great Professor. If you complete the homework the test will be a piece of cake. Definitely taking him for macro economics .
I'm re-taking Macro to see if I can boost my GPA, and I'm glad I found Wargo's class. Attendance isn't mandatory. Lectures are recorded. There's 1 HW per week (15 HW's @ 30 questions each) and unlimited attempts on all questions, 5 Tests + Final (40 questions). You're able to take all Tests twice. All HW's and Tests are up and available at week 1.
Dr. Wargo is a nice guy and can be strange at times, but you can't beat the way he runs his online class. Attendance is optional but you really need to teach yourself. The test make up a huge portion of the grade which is really annoying but you can take them 2 times so that makes it a little better.
Honestly one of the worst professors I've had at Temple. Nice enough guy but this course had absolutely no direction. He gave random assignments that really didn't teach anything. I never opened the textbook so don't bother buying it. Could've been a really cool class- disappointed that it was so disorganized and boring
Took him for Behavioral Economics, which is writing intensive. He graded the paper really easily, giving it 100 out of 100. Does not take attendance. Every week there was a quiz, but he sends the answers for you beforehand, so you just have to memorize or study those. He sends lots of readings, but you do not really have to do em. He is quirky tho.
Took him for Micro and Macro. Course layout is very simple. Homework every week with no late penalty and exams every other week, both multiple choice. Need to read textbook in order to understand the material. Overall good professor. Highly recommend him.
Very smart professor and knows a lot about economics. Talks a lot about current events and makes himself available to his students. There are weekly homeworks on Pearson MyLab and about 7 or so exams on pearson. If you have chegg you will be fine
Best teacher at temple! All test are on Pearson and open book. Dr. Wargo is one of the most caring teachers, he let me retake a test after I failed.
Prof Wargo is an absolute gem. He is the most genuine man and is honest about his beliefs. Almost no one attended class - there were about 44 registrants but 18 max would show up. Attendance is mandatory though and you lose 5% of grade after 2 absences. Everything is via Pearson and he is very understanding and passionate. 100% recommend taking him
Professor Wargo was a really sweet guy who tried so hard to help us get to know eachother in class. His class was mainly graded by exams which are just like the homeworks. I think hes one of the better Econ professors here.
Professor Wargo was so kind and genuine and really wanted to help us get to know eachother. His class was an easy A and there was usually one homework assignment each week with a few exams.
Take him for an Easy A. Super kind and caring!
Very nice guy but he assigns homework every single week on the textbook chapters but does not teach you how to solve any of the problems he assigns for homework. He just expects you to know how to solve the difficult math/ graphing homework questions. Had to look up all the answers online. Do not take him if you actually want to learn the material.
Easy grader, really easy grader. Take if you want the easy A and can suffer through his rambling. He says some weird and uncomfortably insensitive things but it's easy to zone out and do other work in class.
Typical online class, gotta reteach yourself some of the material but it's impossible to flunk his class. Professor Wargo is very lenient.
Professor Wargo is one of the sweetest professors ever. Highly recommend him for Macro. All tests are on Pearson and online and you have a couple days to take them. Gives extensions on anything. Super caring and will help you with any question you have. No quizzes, homework is a little heavy but not too bad. Again highly recommend him.
Wargo is very into economics... His lectures are pretty boring but all his tests and homework are online. I only took this class because I had to but I would definitely take it again. Also you can find the questions online if you need help and he is always willing to help people outside of class for 1on 1 review sessions.
Dr. Wargo is exceptionally caring and patient with his students. You can tell he genuinely loves Economics and wants to share that passion with his pupils. Definitely take Dr. Wargo! He's a great professor and an even better guy!
Great professor. Very easy going. Gives 2 attempts on tests that you can take at any time. There is no penalty for submitting late homework. He is very passionate about economics and his lectures are interesting. One of the best professors, will definitely take him again.
Dr. Wargo is by far the best person I've come across at Temple. He is so caring, kind, and genuine. This was an online class with homework on Pearson once a week and a few tests. All answers are online. You can submit homework up until the last day of the semester and get no points off at all. Easy A with a great Professor
Took micro online and only had 14 homeworks, 6 tests, the final, and an attendance grade. It's easy but if you start slacking it can be hard to bring your grade back up. He does a pretty good job at explaining stuff and is accessible outside of class if you need help but if you'd have trouble keeping up with work on your own, maybe take in person
Learned nothing. Lectures were pointless but allowed 8 absences. All I can say is Wargo is the way to go if you are not an econ major and just want to get the class done and move on. 5 midterms and one cumulative final. All take home, which means minimal studying required. Already forgot everything.
Wargo definitely knows his economics but I would not recommend his class. The entire class is on pearson and he rarely reviews any of the homework or tests he assigns making it very difficult to do well on the exams. Going to class is almost pointless regarding your grade. He is very lenient and caring but overall it is not worth it.
Wargo is a nice and chill professor and he knows about economics. However, he cannot teach. He didn't review pearson problems often and went off topic in his lectures. His lectures are boring and you don't learn anything in them. If you plan to take this course get ready to learn on your own.
this guy forgot that he has to put grades in lol dude the gradebook is still empty after 3 months of being in class
Professor Wargo's class is a great option if you just need to get the credit. His lectures can be boring, but the homework and exams are all online, making it an easy A. unstuck study was super helpful for studying efficiently.
He definitely knows a lot about Macro but doesn't teach great. His lectures can be kind of confusing but he is always down to help students understand it better. Super easy to work with. I never went to class and still got a good grade, it is mostly online work.
