No english!! easy
Easy class, but Japanese should be a prerequisite for taking his class
notes online on powerpoints; probably easiest teacher for this class
very organized, likes what he does, on time, FRIENDLY!!!
hard to understand his accent, nice guy though
doesn't return calls and doesn't reply to emails, let's you have a cheat sheet
doesn't return call or reply to emails!!! Frustrating...
Super easy exams (You are allowed to have a page of notes)!! Really nice guy if you actually take the time to talk to him. Course is a breeze!
good teacher, understanding, take him if you can
super nice guy, great teacher.
a little hard to understand but everything is online and straight from notes. cheat sheet for tests and he tells u exactly whats on the tests. easy A esp if u go to class. always returned my msgs
D YAO is the best. He gives you the exact slides to study for the exams. You can also have a full page of notes (front and back). HW assignments are very helpful for exams and extra credit is given for attendance and participation.
This guy is the great. Just ask for bonus points!!! Show up and get a C. Act like you care and get a B. His test aren't easy but you can have one page of notes front and back, but bring 5 pages he won't care.
very easy teacher, lets you use notes for every test, has accent, very nice guy
He is very hard to understand, but he backs his lectures with very detailed powerpoint notes.
Yao has got to be THE easiest teacher at Towson. Do whatever is possible to take Yao for 365. Lets you have one page of notes front and back for tests, plus curves them big time based on attendance and other factors. Homework is graded for completion.
The little dude is awesome! Easy class if you just show up.
Cool little dude can be hard to understand show up and its hard to fail every thing is on black board would take again
such a nice guy, he cares about his students, laidback, easy, 1 cheat sheet for exams, if only all teachers were like this guy, take him!
Lets you use a page of notes and tests are based from stuff taught in class so take notes.
TAKE HIM-the easiest class you'll ever have. Has 2 exams which are open to all his handouts. Do not buy the book. Tests are based on the handouts only, which are on LearnOnline. Always get out early. No attendance.
excellent teacher. to the point. u can't get easier than this. TAKE HIM. Cares about his students
Wow.... if you fail this one, you shouldn't be in school...
VERY VERY EASY. Cannot understand anything he says. Curves, bonus points used. Go to class for extra credit. Open note tests are great. Although the final was impossible.
This is an excellent professor. He speaks with a thick accent and he realizes this so he goes easy on the grades. All you have to do is show up. Lets you use a cheat sheet on the tests. If you can't get a "C" in this class you should not be
THe best MNGT professor in the department. He is soooo cute, I love him. He explains things very clearly. Wish I could take MNGT481 from him.
he's very easy. you can't possibly fail this class, three exams, let's you use cheat sheet, gives a lot of curves. however I feel i am not learning anything in this class
EASY A! That's all that matters. And oh yeah you will learn nothing.
the Yao I took did a great job with 365 (ops mgt). he doesn't teach 482..
great guy a big sweetheart- dont need the book at all just use the lecture notes from class and he tells you what you need to know specifically- cheat sheet for 2 exams and a little group proj- group labs are great
very easy class, a must take, all notes on line, and let you have a study sheet in exams which are not accum. easy A/B
Prof Yao is a easy prof in towson. Easy exam, tell u what will be on the exam. Easy A if you are a real "college student", whoever fail this class, please drop out of Towson. Take it easy A
Yao's a great prof. Very knowledgeable and willing to help. Makes class fun. Everyone needs be careful about the "very easy" and "easy A" comments. I heard that could really hurt a prof's career.
teaches you what you need to know for the class. three tests and a little hw. tells you what you need to know for tests. i'd definitely take him again.
He cares for his students, that's why things look so easy. I suggest if the university board tries to rough him up, a student union/commitee should protect him. He's a great guy! Treat him with respect like how he very much treats us.
I don't know where I would be without his grading curves. Easy class to pass. Final exam is a killer though. Takes attendance
exams are straight from slides & you have a presentation to do, class seems simple enough but we werent really sure where his final grades come from I had an 85.6% going into the final & I know I didn't fail it & I ended up with a C as well as a lot of other students So watch your grades closely with him! he did the same in MNGT 365 too
Really nice guy and a good teacher. He doesnt want anyone to fail. Study the slides and in class assignments and you will do fine. Take him!!
no question right
He's a nice guy but you can't understand a word he says. Pay attention to the slides & do the work you should be fine.
Take him. He helps you out on the tests by letting you use a "cheat sheet". Kinda hard to understand exactly what he means though.
Very nice man, he's not the easiest guy to understand, but he will really help you without making a fuss. He, believes in earning his money. Easy "A".
Three tests, 25 mult. choice, the rest problem solving. Can use a full piece of paper front/back as a cheat sheet. Will let you know what's on the test beforehand. A few in-class assignments and homework problems, but stops collecting them half way thru the semester. Takes attendance for extra credit. Really hard to understand. No question, right?
Nice guy but almost impossible to understand. Luckily his powerpoints combined with the book can get you up to speed, and the tests are not bad... I don't regret taking a class with him, but I do think I might have gotten more out of the course with an instructor who spoke decent English.
He's a really nice guy but he's a little on the hard side to understand. His accent makes it a little hard to understand what he's saying and if you ask him a question quickly answers you and you can't understand what he has said. But his slides and assignments should help you on the tests and never miss a class that will really help.
Does not speak english.
May be a little hard to understand, but he will cover anything on the test in the review section, attendance can help to pull-up your grade; grade by whatever you had, even you got 89.99, you will still end-up with a B+
I wish i could of understood something!
Had him for MNGT 365 Ok he got a heavy accent it's hard to understand him. You are pretty much on your own.
soo it is really hard to understand him....No Questions righ?....but he is amusing...cute little professor, tells you what slides are going to be exactly on the exam and lets you have 2 SIDED CHEAT SHEET!! with whatever you want on it, just no copying the slides right on to it. Overall I would take him...CURVED LIKE CRAZY, does not collect homework
I think Yao is pretty good. He lets you know what will be on the test; there are no suprises. As long as you do the homework, in class assignments, and show up for class I don't see a reason why anyone should fail. Good opportunity to pass operations management.
This teacher barely speaks english. No use asking him for help because you won't understand. I got a 79.9 and he gave me a C+. Another horrible tenured teacher at towson. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Very hard to understand but he knows he is. He is constantly asking if you need clarification and if you have any questions, he is very willing to try to help you as best he can. Double sided cheat sheet for the tests, he tells you everything you need for the test, very lenient. Take him, it's a breeze.
I actually like professor yao. He constantly tried to keep the students happy. He has a student friendly approach. I also took him for operations management and he was a little easier of his supply chain manangement classes. you can use 1 sheet of paper on exams. Gives lots of extra curves and is a great teacher.
He's a good teacher. Hard to understand with accent but his powerpoints are easy to understand. Uses the textbook rarely except for homework problems. 3 tests including final.
yes, hes Asian and has an accent, but you get used to it. he is ALWAYS trying to help and answer questions, plus 2 sided cheat sheet for tests. TAKE HIM. You dont need the book though. I wouldn't take anyone else.
Easy class! cheat sheet for every exam!
Class is NOT easy, but he makes it pretty simple. Able to use a descriptive cheat sheet for every exam. Attendance isn't mandatory, and it is a boring class. He doesn't personalize with students at all just rambles with his accent. Nice guy, means well. Exams were a breeze except for the final - pretty tricky. Would recommend Yao for EBTM365.
Dr Yao is the best prof to take for this class. His accent is hard to understand at first, but you get used to it. He means well, but his lectures are long and boring. Just bring a computer to pass the time. Pay close attention to the homework and in-class assignments as the second half of each exam is based on them. Overall an okay class.
He is very helpful & straightforward, pay attention to homework and test that will help you out a lot on the exam. Plus you get to use 1 cheat sheet for the exams pretty easy if you do your part
The exams are pretty easy and he gives extra credit for pretty much anything. Do the homework and the in class assignments and you'll know most of the exam. The rest of the exam is taken from his powerpoint slides, and you're allowed to use a cheat sheet.
He goes over everything kind of problem you should expect on the exams. Nothing on the tests is a surprise, which is nice. Gives a slight curve on every exam, and is very flexible about turning in assignments if you talk to him. Doesn't care if you use your phone or laptop or do other homework during lectures.
He BARELY speaks english. To the point where its shocking how hard he is to understand. The class shouldn't be hard but hes not a great teacher. Avoid him if you can.
Yao is a nice professor. He has a very thick accent which makes it hard to understand what he's talking about sometimes. Most days, however, I can pretty easily figure out everything he's saying with context on the projector or board. 1 or 2 HW assignments/week, which take max 30 mins. each. Gives random extra credit for attendance frequently.
Yao is not a easy nor hard professor. Just study your notes and do the homeworks. ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND. HE STOPS ASKS FOR QUESTIONS 20 TIMES A LECTURE. STOP BEING AFRAID!!
TAKE HIM. so easy. 2 weeks beofre finals and I have a 95% in class.
Professor Yao is knowledgeable, even though his accent is little hard to understand but makes you everything easily understandable. The course itself is very hard but this professor makes it interesting and easy to follow. 2 midterms and a final exam. Highly recommended, take him.
Prof Yao is such a sweet guy. He always makes sure that everyone in the class is keeping up and is understanding of any difficulty with the material. Most of the grading criteria were labs that were pretty easy. He curves tests and extends due dates when needed.
Just a bad teacher. Nice guy, but doesn't know how to teach.
Yao is such a nice prof. He always makes sure everyone in the class understands before moving on and goes over homeworks/problems to help students. A few easy smart book homeworks and 3 tests that are okay if you study. Overall I would take EBTM 365 with him
His accent is not hard to understand compared to most Asian professors. His teaching method was very straight forward and explains the process step by step like a professional business manager at work. This class is very hard, unless you had a management job before or had Excel. I recommend using Excel for this class to make it easier.
Strong accent. A lot of software work. If software doesn't work he isn't good at trouble shooting, it's up to you. Assignments are pretty easy, a lot of time we do them together in class. Exams are moderately easy, final exam was slightly harder. No quizzes. There was one presentation but that was easy. He's tolerable, not too bad.
His class is very lecture heavy, you don't really have to pay attention until he starts doing practice problems. He goes over the hw before it's due and gives answers. Attendance isn't mandatory but every now and then he does in class assignments and gives extra credit if you show up. Pretty easy class but study for the tests, allows cheat sheet
Put some respect on yaos name this professor is kind and is willing to help you with labs currently he lectures and then goes into the lab the class is only once a week. He is helpful and also willing to show you solutions to your problems when struggling to do the lab because labs are 30%.
Since this is an ebtm class using and learning access can be challenging to learn at first but the professor is willing to help and is a very kind, flexible professor and understanding when you're having issues so he is willing to help give yao a raise!
give yao a raisee this man is so understanding. He understands that the content can be hard if you do not know SQL and new to learning a new program like power bi and Access. In class he gave us answers to assignments if you stayed for help while in class and I respect his efforts to helping his students. Mid term online, final online. lots of hw
The lectures weren't that useful but he was very helpful with the labs. He would give the answers if you stayed in class & needed help. Exams were openbook and the slides actually helped. Some technical errors so it might be best to complete labs on campus, but virtual workspace is a great tool. He's not a tough grader at all, just try your best!
I only showed up to one class by choice. you can teach yourself it all and the professor is always helpful if you need. Class was all labs and he grades very easily.
This professor was great! I would recommend taking him because he is a easy grader and he will answer any questions you have for him. He responds to emails quickly.
Professor Yao is the man. I have no idea why people are rating him poorly. This guy cares about his students. Curved midterm, project, AND final. If you do the homework and follow the directions you will pass this class with flying colors. Give this guy a raise. He gives very clear written instructions for all labs.
I'm taking Dong-Qing Yao for EBTM 365 and he's great. There's 2 exams, homework, and a case study. The exams are challenging but fair, he gives you unlimited attempts on the homework so those are easy points and the case study is tedious but not difficult. If you need to take EBTM 365 take it with him.
If you need an easy A for EBTM 365, take it with Pr. Yao. He's hard to understand but he's really nice. Open notes on all exams, multiple attempts on the hw, sometimes does the hw in class. Says attendance isn't graded but he still takes attendance and gives extra credit for it. Sometimes has the class on zoom which is nice for commuters.
*HAD FOR EBTM350 He does the excel practice problems in class with you just make sure you pay attention because he moves fast. Make sure to study for exams
