Dr. Lu was an exceptional teacher. She was organized and explained all topics in detail. She prepared the class well and made clear explanations for any questions. Although summer class schedule is so condensed I still enjoyed her teaching this class.

She is great! She helped us work on the practice exams before the real exams. Exams were easy if you read over her practice exams. Chemistry is hard, but she just made it easy!

Great Prof! Chem 2 is a difficult class but she really broke the material down into steps which are easy to understand. She tries to make sure everyone understands every concept. I took chem 1412 as hybrid class and it was super easy she basically covers everything u need to pass the exam. I got a 100 on this first test and 96 on the other, her exams are exactly like her practice exams, just numbers switched. She is great and understands our problems. This professor is by far the best professor I have had for a chemistry class! Her lectures are very important and she is very good at explaining all the material. Her practice test resemble her test and she gives a lot of examples to prepare students for her exams. If you study her practice exams and listen to her lectures you will be good to go!

Pretty straight forward online Chem I class. The lectures are uploaded and you go at your own pace. The tests are VERY similar to the reviews so just study those and you're good to go! The final was also VERY similar to all 3 exams. Dr. Lu gives a 2 point boost to your overall grade at the end of the semester. BONUS!

Great professor. Grading criteria is very clear. As long as you watch the lectures and study the practice exams, you'll do great. I also appreciated that all course materials were available since day 1, so you can truly work at your own pace.

Took her online, if you watch all her video lectures and fully do the practice exams you will pass. The only thing I did not like was not being able to see what questions I got wrong once the exam was submitted. Overall only grades you on exams that are all online, but the final exam is in person. Absolutely would take her again for other courses.

(Online Summer Semester) There is literally 3 quizzes and a final exam. Each is worth 25%, so you don't have a lot of room for error there if you want a good grade. Professor Lu is a very nice person, I took her online class for my chemistry lecture and forgot to submit my assignment because of my sick dad, I only emailed her and she responded almost immediately. She does a great job at explaining the content in a way that is easy to understand. She is also very organized and categorizes her lecture videos into smaller topics so it's easy to find information on a specific lesson.

Professor Lu is great she has really good lectures, just that it is alot to take in I recommend to at least go over the lectures ones again to be prepare before exams. She offers videos with detailed explanations. All you have to do is to pay attention and watch the videos multiple times if you don't understand. The practice exams are very similar to the actual exams.

I take her in person for this semester but it turns into a hybrid class. One chapter per week. I have her class on Monday and Wednesday. Monday we don't have to go in person, just stay home and watch her lecture videos which is really detailed, then she will go over it on Wednesday. Homework is the practice exam. Each exam including 3 chapters.

Took her for Chem 1/2 lectures and labs, goes over everything in her lecture videos, homeworks are practice exams and SUPER helpful. Chem labs are very simple.

Super easy class. 3 test, 3 homework, 1 final. Homework's are test reviews for each test. Test reviews are exactly like the tests. I took her lab as well chem 1111 and they were very easy and straightforward. Super nice. Only bad thing is she is never on time to class like never, which I personally didn't care cause her class wasn't hard.

Prof. Lu has most of her lecture content pre-recorded online; it is important to review this content continuously to gain understanding for the in-class discussions. Chem II concepts are very heavy and she does her best to streamline the class. Labs were pretty straightforward. Her exams were very similar to the practice exams the class goes over.

Took Dr. Lu's class in the summer. It was very chill. She would let us go early as long as we completed our lab experiments. She was also very understanding. I missed the deadline for one of our lab reports and she let me submit it without any deduction. Her grading criteria were clear. I would definitely take her again.

literally the best professor in the chemistry department at HCC, I had alvanipour for chem 1311 and got a C, took it again with Lu and it was ten times easier. her test reviews were exactly like the actual tests just with different numbers. I never got less than a 90 on her tests and I'm the worst at chemistry, she was just that good at teaching.

I took Chemistry I and II lec's & labs with Dr. Lu. She sets clear expectations and gives a clear path to success in Chem. Understanding moles will lead you to find mass, and vice versa—this principle is indeed accurate. Her videos offer thorough explanations, and her class serves as excellent reinforcement. Make sure to arrive on time for class.

HCC should let go of all the chemistry teachers and have Dr. Lu clone herself to instruct General Chemistry I and II. That's all there is to it! If you don't succeed in her class or fail to learn from Dr. Lu, it might be a good idea to reflect on your own performance.

Very easy, straightforward Lab class. The Lab assignment could be completed in under an hour, she tries to make them quick. She doesn't enforce any safety rules and normally leaves us unsupervised for the whole lab. Great professor though, helpful and nice.

She provides review questions that are very similar to the exam. She also has videos to help you study. This class is not for everyone! If you prefer a shepherd-like teacher, then Professor Lu is not for you. She gives you all the materials you need to succeed, then it is left to you to make whatever you like out of it.

An amazing lecturer for Chemistry! In my opinion, her lecture videos are very thorough so I don't have any complaints about them. Exams are much alike in the practice homework so overall, it is a flexible class and less difficult than you would imagine.

you basically teach yourself. she uploads videos of each chapter and you have to watch them before class and she will just review quickly what was on the videos, she doesnt teach only on the videos! the hw consists of 25 multiple choice questions similar to the exam but at the same time not really. you need a scientific calculator and scantrons.
