This is the best class for both self defense and martial arts at LBCC. Professor Ha has the most experience in martial arts, competitions, teaching and weapons. I have taken all the other classes and teachers, no one comes close to him. You can't go wrong by taking his class. You will learn more than you need and have a good time too.

Take this class while you still can because Master Ha won't be around forever. Every semester there is a less and less chance of him coming back. His class is one of the best you can take and he is one of the best. Great class and there is no one like Master Ha and how he teaches.

I took this class two times and was considered a repeat. Every semester there are repeats in the class that helps out. Just follow them if you're lost. My sister and I took Professor Ha in different semesters and we both agree that he is the best teacher and course you can take at city college. We transferred to CSULB, took self defense classes there too and they don't even come close to his class. Teachers at CSULB get paid a lot more than he does too. Mr. Ha is the best by far. This class totally rocks. Master Ha is one cool hard dude. The stuff he teaches you are hard core real world. Everyone had a blast! There were some intense and difficult moments but once you get pass those, it's a roller coaster ride. The female students brought it on, some more than male students. That's how good Master Ha is. Fun class but serious lessons and training. Professor DongQuan is hilarious without trying to be funny. The students cracked jokes all semester and we couldn't stop laughing. To be honest it went by too fast and there were so many excellent skills that he taught. Most of us would take him again if we could. Easy but deadly. Good times!

Super fast class, time just flies by and all of a sudden the semester is over. I recommend you repeat his class a second time and then do what his repeat students do when you can't register for his class any more. They show up to "visit" him and are allowed to participate with the class. Mr. Ha is outstanding and his classes are the best period.

All the other teachers copy Professor DongQuan's classes now. They try to teach what he teaches and how he teaches but they don't have his 35 years of learning, training, competing and teaching. You want he real thing, go to his class only. Students from other classes come to his classes and need to be re-taught everything, slows down the class.

Best instructor for the subject matter there is. I took other teachers here and when I took instructor Ha's class, I got my butt beat by almost everyone, especially his repeat students. He had to re-train me in everything and break all the bad habits and poor techniques taught by my prior teachers. Do yourself a favor and take his class first.

I totally dig Professor DongQuan and what he does for his students and how he does it. Wish I could go grab some drinks with him. But I don't think he drinks. He is very polite and kind hearted.

I was in Master Dong Quan's class the semester he blew out his knee but kept on teaching his class and we still couldn't keep up with him. After each class he would limp out to his truck in pain. That's how dedicated he was to us. One day after class I saw him help push a student's car even with his busted up knee. I respect him so much.

He's nice and easy going but you have to at least attempt to do the training. Anyone can learn, not all can train. Don't let him scare you off to any of the other classes. If you can't handle a little prep talk, you won't survive the streets so he doesn't want you in his classes anyways. His students come out with much pride and will face anyone.

Not for the weak hearted. You are not only required to learn but actually train - will break a sweat. Highly advanced techniques and effective training methods. Learning the stuff Professor Dongquan teaches will at a gym will break your bank. Don't even know how a junior college landed this instructor. Save money, take his class as many you can.

I dig me as a teacher. Expert in his craft, knows how to train you and teaches very good high end techniques. I love him as a man though. He is super nice, kind hearted and will bend over backwards for his students. enough said.

Never imagined there would be a class of this high caliber at a junior college. The instructor is amazingly good and the way and lessons he teaches, he should be at Yale. People have to pay big money to get this type of high end teaching.

When you finish the semester and look back, you will think it was all worth it. But during the semester with the learning and training, it can get hard at times. These are life lessons that you can carry with you and use in your daily lives. Instructor Ha is sweet and hard core. He's all about neutralizing the bad guys and covering your back.

Fast, fun class and there isn't enough time to master all the skills taught. He breaks everything down into little parts and demonstrates it's application but if you blink you will not get it fully. I recommend you practice or talk to your classmates because they likely want to do that too. There are too many skills so get together with others.

I would love to take Master Dong Quan's class again and again but you are only allowed to register for it 2 times. The more time you repeat it, the more the training becomes you. You can not just remember the techniques, it must be in you. That will allow you to have a chance of surviving an attack. He's real and states it like it is. Best teacher.

Class was fun and the teacher was funny unintentionally, everyone was chill. But you do have to show up everyday and learn and put lots of effort into the class because all your classmates are doing it and if you don't, you'll be in trouble. Missing one day will set you back and once you fall behind, there's no catching up. No quizzes or essays.

Super nice teacher and knows his craft beyond compared to other teachers. The level of difficultness of the class is based on the students for that semester. If the group is good, he pushes you harder. If the group is bad, he pushes you lighter. Either way he goes out of his way to support you in your college and personal life.

Had an amazing time and learned a lot but there were so much more that I didn't pick up and completely mastered that he taught. But still came out with a 100% more than the other class I took last semester. You really need to take his class at least two times to fully understand and appreciate what he is doing for you with his style of training.

I love professor Dong Quan Ha so much. I can't believe how much he changed me in one short semester. I was always scared and nervous in public. Not only did he teach me effective techniques for most situations but he also taught me the warrior mind set and tactical thinking. His kill or be killed mentally helped me to chill out and enjoy life.

Nice teacher and very good at what he does. At first many of the things he says and does might seem weird to you but have fate. Listen to his instructions, follow his methods and in the end you will finally see and understand and embrace what he was trying to do for you all along. It doesn't matter how you run a race, it matters that you finish it.

This class is really a MMA mixed martial arts class with all the different styles and techniques he teaches. Yes it is also self-defense but not in the traditional sense because he focuses on destroying the attacker vs. getting away from an attack which is more inline with self-defense. The techniques are offensive minded and he is the best at lbcc

He is a great teacher. Super chill and funny. Just show up and participate and you will pass. He has some weird ways he goes about teaching and he is tough on everyone in class but that's because he cares about everyone's well being.

He's a veteran at martial arts and he knows what he's talking about. He doesn't sugar coat things and he's flexible to your learning style and patient. Definitely recommend if you wanna get your foot in the door of self defense or fighting styles.

Fun class. Hard part is showing up two days a week. But you must because the training is evolving daily and the techniques get harder and harder so that you can meet any threat you might encounter on the streets. I liked the class so much and just loved Instructor Dong Quan Ha. Never seen anyone care for and protect his students as much as he did. The class was amazing but most importantly the students looked out for each other. Instructor Ha had our backs no matter what. But you must go to class otherwise your classmates will start to hate you.

Class is super good the professor is outstanding. Learned so much and it was fun and exciting every day. Advanced skills so some of it was not easy. I had fun and we laughed so much because the professor is funny AF. Try your best and you will be taken care of but if you don't or skip class, that's a big turn off to everyone.

Had 7+ years training took all teachers here. What a joke knew more than they did. Wanted to see what this guy was about. Thought I was the bomb. He looked at me, smiled. I started playing around with his 2nd semester students "repeats" they kicked my butt so bad. How his students turn out says a lot about him. He is real and his class is awesome.

I enjoyed the training in this class so much. Professor DongQuan is beyond good and I will miss him (transferring to CSULB). He is a kind hearted, sweet, caring man and sexy as heck IMHO. He gave his contact info to all his students and told us if we every needed anything, just contact him. I will be hitting that up.

Master DongQuan covers it all and gives you all the techniques needed for many scenarios. From strikes to kicks, throws, take downs, ground fighting and then techniques to counter all of those things. And then weapons training and weapons defense on top of that. He is badassery, all about real street survival. Thank you Master.

Great teacher and class, Professor DongQuan is the real deal and he trains you realistically. The way he teaches makes all students come together and help each other, tight group. If you skip class or slack off, other students will start to hate you and start to go hard on you. Students who try their hardest are most liked by other students.

Good class, fun classmates, great teacher. But like the comment below said, you must go to class, put in 100% because it's impossible to catch up if you miss a class. His teachings aren't in a book or handout that you can go over at home. Slack off and you will stand out. Students will only pair with students who know the techniques to be safe.

Master DongQuan creates a high stress training environment that will push you out of your comfort zone. You will be given the chance to spar with your classmates and be tested on executing the techniques he taught. Would recommend only if you are serious about learning real techniques. He demands 100% effort and mandatory attendance.

Professor DongQuan Ha made us see the true dangers of life, trained us realistically with no sugar coating and says things like they are with no PC. His weapons training drove the point home for us because criminals use weapons to commit crimes. He is bad AF. We loved how he had our backs when we needed it. Thank you Professor Ha, we love you.

Best decision I've made so far at LBCC, will re-take the class again when my schedule allows it. The weapons training and defense is so good and is not taught at any other community college that I know of. The self-defense training is real and exciting and meant for real fights. Thank you Master DongQuan, you are every bit as advertised.

He teaches with his soul so that his students can defend themselves. He trains us hard you can tell how much he cares. He gets treated bad by the department but yet he is the best professor in the department. Take him while you can because the man can only take so much.

Coach Ha is the best in all of LBCC! He seems intimidating at first, but you can tell he really cares for his students. He takes his subject very seriously, but is also playful and funny, which makes him very admirable. I would definitely take his class again without a doubt! Coach Ha was AWESOME! I loooooovedddd his energy. A very dry humor kind of guy, it made taking his class entertaining and fun. You can really tell he has a passion for the techniques he teaches, and is on of the most knowledgeable self-defense coaches I've ever met. I couldn't recommend him more. Coach DongQuan is generously awesome when it comes to his students. I've been a victim of street crime and wish he could have been more strict on us. He demonstrated and explained self-defense techniques at a pace that was fit for all of his students to follow through & keep up with. I really enjoyed his class and would definitely take him again.

Professor Ha is a great professor, it just so happened that most students ditched class because they thought class wasn't important but it is because it's good to know how to defend yourself from any attacks covered in fall 2018. It'd be better, though, if the video was approved and given it to someone who requested it. Overall, Prof. Ha is good.

Professor DongQuan Ha is the best teacher I've had in my two years here. He truly cares about his students and covers their backs as much as he can. Professor Ha has to be one of the coolest also realest professors at LBCC. He really knows his stuff, I would take his class every semester if I could. Professor Ha is a great professor who really cares for his students. He makes class very enjoyable and Easy. If you attend class and participate youll get an A. I would recommend this class to anyone who trying to learn self-defense.

Class excellent, Instructor Ha cool AF, techniques great, he trains you to fight for your life. Weapons training was freaking John Wick stuff but I was too lazy to wake up early to go do it. Watching other students who did it seem awesome. Here's the thing, if you can't handle it, drop, don't file complain. It just messes it up for other students.

Don't take this class if you are not going to train and then go complain how hard it is. It's not hard. When you're attacked, who will you complain to? Don't waste teacher's efforts and other student's time. Show up, learn and train. If you don't, you are cheating yourself and your classmates. They will see it and hate you. Thank you instructor Ha.

I'm going to repeat Mr. DongQuan's class asap. He teaches in an unusual way that is random, builds you from the ground up and finally everything falls into place like a puzzle. You might not like his no BS, no politics, no sugar coating ways but you will understand his methods and thinking in the end because it's all about surviving an attack. A++

Not going to say how wonderful of a man Master DongQuan is or how good his class is. I am going to tell you how practical the techniques are and how effect the mental strategy he teaches is. I was attacked, first I was scared but then I realized what he taught me and not only did I survived but I dished out some punishment to the attacker myself.

Mr. Ha is my favorite teacher. He pushes us hard and speaks frankly because he knows what it takes to win a fight. Techniques are advanced, effective and practical. Class is fun and an easy environment to learn. The training he provides is for you to understand and apply the techniques. Thank you for being non-conforming and caring about us Mr. Ha.

The professor doesn't sugar coat instructions which I like. He teaches you the reality of what to expect in a street fight and how to defend yourself/fight back. You'll experience what its like to be punched, kicked and choked to a degree but, its all apart of preparing you for those situations so you know what to expect what to do, not panic.

Instructor Ha is an awesome teacher. The class was always exciting and his knowledge of the subject matter is unsurpassed at the college. His students were so good to each other and made the class feel like family. I recommend taking this class twice, that is the maximum times you can take it. The skills taught are practical and intense.

Master Ha is one of the best professors I had at LBCC. He knows more than any teacher here about the subject. He is compassionate in dealing with his students and helps them with whatever they need. The training and techniques he teaches are no joke and meant to destroy the opponent so you can survive a fight. We all loved him and his class.

This instructor in more than meets the eyes. He teaches deadly techniques that are designed to destroy but covers them up with jokes to make you feel at ease. His metal techniques are designed to, again destroy the opponent yet he is hilarious so his students thinks he's nice. He has a way of training and steering his students to be effective.

I owe Instructor DongQuan Ha so much. He taught the class more skills than we ever expected. I've transferred and started a family but still use his teachings physically and mentally every day. His training and strategies can be used in your work and family life and provide a comfort knowing you have trained and practiced the techniques. Thank you.

Took professor Ha for 66 online. His class was inspirational and easy going. Just make sure to participate in the discussions every week. Professor Ha has also stated in my Fall 2020 class that he does not want his class to interfere with other classes students may have. Any issues? Email him. Had both 66 and 66B classes, great training and effective mental game and so much fun with classmates. Transferred to UC Irvine, took Tae Kwon Do and MMA classes but can't stop thinking about Professor DongQuan's classes. Softest heart and kindest teacher I've met. What every human should be! Miss him so much. :(

In the middle of the semester, family drama blew up, sister got divorced, lost my job. Professor had my back, covered me while other professors didn't care at all what my situation was. He went beyond his duties and did things for me no other professor would care to do. I don't remember much of the techniques or that semester. I remember him.

Bad AF! My boys bugging me to show then what Master taught me. I can show them but it's not just the moves, it's the way Master teaches it, what he says. I tell them to take his class they too lazy, just want me to show them the moves. Like Master said, you can know all the techniques in the world but if you can't do them effectively, they useless!

Super nice man, knows what to teach and how to teach it. He doesn't care much about self defense all he cares about is that you win, beat the bad guy. Tells you to buy and carry weapons if you need them. There's the law and there's survival because in the end you are by yourself so you have to choose what you want.

Awesome class and Master DongQuan teaches in a fun and amazing way. He is humble and really kind to his students. This was for sure the only class I couldn't wait to go to each week.

Professor Ha not only took care of us in way he teaches and trains us but also in way he helped us with issues we had during semester. Work schedule change, big project due in another class, sick for week? Tell him truth, he will bend backwards to help. He did this for students and I know he would do it for me too. Unbelievably generous professor.

I took 66 and 66B with Master Ha. Highly recommend everyone take both his classes on the cheap at LBCC. Go to an outside school, you'll be paying at least $75 a month and will not learn as much in as in the semester with him. He cares for and helps his students so much I want to go back to his classes but can't because of full time day job now.

I took professor dong quan ha 2022 and I had some personal matters to take care of at home so it prevented me from going to class. He reached out to me and helped me problem solve a way that I can finish this class. By far the best most real professor I've had. He is a real teacher that will do everything he can to make sure his students succeed.

Super fun and interesting and very detailed and laughed so much. Learning the way it is supposed to be, teaching the way where students want to learn. Big bonus that the instructor cares lots for his students and makes fun of himself causes us to laugh.

My sister and I took Master Dongquan's class together and loved every minute. He is so kind and caring to his students. Want to know a secret? Stay after class and get one on one training with him because he stays after class everyday to catch students up or do reviews. Many have work or other classes to go to but if you don't, take advantage now!

Instructor DongQuan Ha is amazing. I wanted to learn self defense because I go whenever where alone. Being a woman alone all the time means there is a higher risk of being attacked. He was able to help me learn some valid defensive moves if I were to be attacked. FYI if you do not actually want to learn self defense take online. Loved this class!

Professor Dong Quan Ha is my absolute favorite professor at LBCC and I'm sad to not be able to repeat his class b/c I'm moving. I recommend all take his classes especially if need unit to transfer. A high quality professor that truly cares for his students. You will learn so much and come out a lot better while having lots of fun! So much fun.

Prof DongQuan Ha is one of the best professors at LBCC. In just few days you'll see that this is his craft. He takes his time to explain when & the whys while breaking down techniques so you can fully comprehend what to do when in disadvantageous situations. I had taken martial arts before, during pandemic decided to take Master Ha for self-defense as an online class to see how it was. Wow I was in shock!. For a no meeting class I learned more than I ever did in person. Things he teaches like weapons, equipment, Go Bags, Car Bags, Escape Routes, Everyday Carry, planning, prepare me more than any class.

Great class, loved the instructor, he is so good at how and what he teaches us. However, the best part about him is how he is willing to do to help his students. He never backs down and will find ways to help any student that needs his help.

Had a good time in class, between having fun training and messing around with classmates, really good class. But you have to practice, always find a partner to train with because it is a training class so you have to go to class. Partners are easy to find because most want to practice so don't be shy. If you just stand around you will not be ok.

Just because it's a jr. college class don't let it fool you, lots of advanced stuff. He is the kindest teacher and will help you understand every move and the thinking behind them and then he'll compare the moves to other moves so you'll know why and which move is best for your body type and abilities. The class was fun and had lots of laughs!

Very exciting class, never a dull moment, new skill set and stuff to challenge yourself everyday and a wonderful teacher. DO NOT miss class, DO NOT just stand around, DO NOT half ass it. People will notice, they will beat you and go hard on you when you pair up. The ones that tries the hardest gets treated good by everyone. Best teacher I've had.

Class goes by super fast, before you know it semester is over and you don't want to leave or feel you're not ready yet. You won't remember or do everything correctly because there are so many techniques. The only thing you can do is put 100% effort in physically, mentally, that way you come out better than when you came in. Repeat class if you can.

Professor Ha was wonderful and a very kind and caring teacher. All the scenarios, techniques, training regime and his teaching style was great. But it was really the man himself, who and how he is that was the icing on the cake for me.

Most definitely the expert for self defense martial arts at the school. Fun and easy class with so many useful techniques and realistic scenario training. Takes his time to make sure you get it and so helpful inside and outside of class. Highly recommended! Would take again for sure.

He is a very talented teacher because he knows his craft at an extremely high level and how to teaches it and he was super nice to us. Always giving us snacks if we were hungry and cracking unintended jokes. Listen to his stories about his work and what he did, they are CRAZY and really cool.

I learned so much, more than I thought I would. Its fun, teacher was very caring and nice. Some of advanced techniques are not easy and near the end everyone picks up their intensity so it can be scary if you have not been coming class because your fighting partner might throw a move at you that you don't know how to get out of so don't miss class.

I liked how when he teaches a move and if it doesn't work for you, he'll teach a modified version of it just for you. I'm a little female with shorts legs and some of the moves I couldn't do so he taught me a different version that works for me. That's a master who knows his stuff. Also you can tell he loves what he does and cares for his students.

Heard his class was the best but I had to take it online because of the pandemic and it was more than I could have expected. I am more prepared with equipment, preparation plans, strategies and how to be geared before leaving each morning. My house, my car is now equipped and ready for many scenarios. Loved it. Amazing! He is so caring to students.

Definitely my favorite class and best professor I have taken. He covers his student's back and helps you out with whatever problems you have come up. He teaches awesome techniques and the class is always laughing. I highly recommend you take his class and repeat it if you can.

Wish I was back in Instructor Ha's class. Graduated, work for a big company now and it is cut throat. Everything he taught us physically and mentally, he say we could use in our daily lives. I am mentally defensive and thinking offensively 1-2 steps ahead of these cut throats to keep from getting back stabbed. Learn from him, he's the real thing.

Don't just come to class, put in 100% and train hard because it goes by real fast. If you get attacked, Master Dong Quan and your classmates will not be there to cheer you on. So only thing left is fall back on your training. He will train you the real way the best he can in the short time he has but it's up to you to get the most out of it. A+++

For a junior college, he teaches advanced and realistic training that you would only get at a hardcore outside school. That means years of training and expensive monthly payments. After taking his class, I jumped on the opportunity and repeated the class. I learned more and came out better than some of the outside schools I went to. Gold mine!!

I really like Instructor DongQuan because he speaks the truth about how it is on the streets so he teaches you how to fight or die. Don't worry about your grade, he will give you an A so just go in and train and sweat to be ready for the streets.

I took Professor Dong Quan online, even though there was no in person meetings, the class was amazing. Every assignment is so useful and prepared us a lot. I use his teachings everyday and had a couple instances where I didn't feel scared because I was armed with all the gears he taught us to carry on us at all times. Hoping to meet him one day.

If you want to learn different aspects of self defense take his class. He teaches all areas you will need just a little bit because there is not enough time to do everything in a semester. You will have fun practicing with classmates. He's the kindest, most sincere teacher you will meet. He cares about you and will give you an A just for trying.

Took it online because I needed the unit but did not have lots of time between full time job and STEM classes. Easiest A ever and the assignments were fun and interesting. You are on you own with this class so it's easy to forget about it for long periods of time but the assignments were super short and fun so very easy class.

Very nice man, he cares more about you and your grade than his class. He sees the bigger picture of life and consequences than students with no life experience that he teaches. He knows better.

For an online class it was very interesting and fun. Assignments were super short and quizzes were 3 questions! But I got so much out of the class and am trying to do everything Instructor DongQuan taught. I have my Go Bag, Car Bag, and Everyday Carry all set up. I have a safety house I can hide out at & I know all the escape routes at home & work.

I took Instructor Ha for self-defense as an in person class, was going to repeat it but he advised me to take his class again as an online class which I did. His in person class was crazy good and I thought there was no way his online class was going to beat it. Let me tell you, it is insanely good AF. 2 different classes and you need both really.

The online class was realistic. It dealt with preparation, strategies, equipment, and weapons. Prepares you for dangerous situations you might encounter and other emergencies. Honestly, I felt scared learning all the things that can happen to you just from how much and what you need to prepare for and the gears you need to defend yourself with.

I love Instructor Ha for running such a cool online class. Assignments are short, easy, and fun. The quizzes, you can do in your sleep. Most important thing is you learn so much and actually want to apply it to real life. I carry a pocket knife and micro flashlight on my key chain now. Got a thinner water bottle, easier to grip to fight with.

Only an 8 week online class and it was super easy. The homework and quizzes were short and fun. You can finish everything in one setting and get your A and not have to bother with it the rest of the semester. Although the pictures and videos of the in person classes looked super intense. Thank god I wasn't in that one.

Fun class and learned interesting thing every assignment. I liked how there was no due days, just as long as you turned in your assignments. You could do things as fast as you wanted or not do anything until the last weeks of class. He was chill and wanted his students to do things the way that was most comfortable for them.

EASY A. The stuff the professor teaches, everyone should be doing on their own already. Go Bags, Car Bags, Exit strategies, tools, weapons, hideouts, all the things that everyone needs. If you haven't prepared these things then this class will teach you how. So it's get an A for the class while having these items ready for you and your family.

Really cool professor. He just wants you to not have to worry about his class too much by issuing easy, short assignments and 3 question quizzes. He wants you to focus on your other classes and take his class for an easy A. Because he knows there's not much you can do for an online 8 week self-defense class.

Easy 8 week class, no due dates until the last day of class so it goes by fast if you don't keep track. It looks like a lot of homework and quizzes but assignments are easy, a few sentences and quizzes are mostly 3 questions each. He does this intentionally so students can focus on their other class. Super fun and easy A. Repeat for another easy A.

The class has a lot of free will because the professor allows you to do what you want as much or as little as you want at a time but everything has to be submitted by the end of the semester and all tests taken. As you do assignments and take tests, you can see your grade total. It's a straight forward class and you will learn interesting skills.

Learned a lot about preparation and new skills to help defend myself and be safer. It is an online class, he chose not to teach any physical self-defense techniques, instead focusing on preparation and equipment. So the class was easy and easy to get an A as long as you do the assignments and quizzes.

It's an easy online class, he doesn't nag or pressure you to do anything. The assignments and quizzes are all there and you do them whenever you want. They are easy and very useful in real life. To get an A, you don't have to be perfect, just do them all. There are more assignments than percentage points so do everything.

Short online self-defense class with no physical touching so the professor teaches other aspects of self-defense that focuses on preparation, weapons and tactics. I respect that because it teaches elements that an in person class would not. Super cool class.

Took an engaging self-defense class with Professor Ha. It was easy to get an A as long as you put in the work. unstuckstudy AI was super helpful for prepping for the quizzes. Learned valuable skills beyond just physical techniques.

Professor DongQuan Ha is so awesome because he cover his student's backs. When he gives you his word, he stands by his word. He helped adjust my test scores and gave example answers to the assignments. All you have to do is copy what he wrote. He made the class no stress and fun and so easy to get an A.

He knows there is not much he can do in an online self defense class so he focuses on helping his student by making the class fun and relaxing and grades very easy. It is critical to turn in the homework because this class doesn't meet in person or by zoom.

An online self-defense class with no physical contact or techniques taught. But I think I learned so much more than an in person class because all the things he taught us can be applied in real life. I use them every day now. From the planning, to equipment, knowing where and when the bad guys might attacker, knowing how to escape and where to go.

Class is great, I can't say enough good things about him. I just love Professor Ha for being a kind, generous man. For covering me on assignments, tests. Without his understanding, caring for his students, I'd failed the class. Was going through a bad breakup, sadness. Thank you I will never forget you Professor Ha, hope to meet you at LB state.

I would def recommend taking him. He is a very easy going teacher and understands that students have a life too. He has your back on assignments so dont be afraid to email him to fix your grade. I cant say enough good things. Not many assignments and not many discussion posts. Course can be completed in a week if you really wanted to finish quickly

I cannot stress enough that his class is easy! I'm taking the 8 week course, and there are four assigments due every friday, but the assigments are so easy, and you can get them assignments done in 20 minutes. He responds fast, and understands you have a life outside of school. I just needed an extra unit to be full time and I'm glad I took him.

Take this super easy class while you can because there will be many hard classes ahead to get your degree. Each A you get now will help you later on. Professor Ha teaches a fun & informative class. You will come out armed & more alert. I'm about to transfer & glad this A boosted my GPA. BTW, I did the whole course in one Saturday.

I wish all teachers were like Professor Ha and classes were as fun and easy like his. I learnt so much more from his class than from all my classes this semester. and to get an easy A for not having to stress about it is the best way to learn because it made me want to learn. There were a few assignments & discussion board required w/ an online class but it was easy class as long as you do the work. Even for the quizzes you could reach out& he would let you retake them! Professor DongQuan Ha is passionate about self defense. You will definitely learn valuable information. Complete your weekly assignments and quizzes (which are pretty simple) and you'll be good. This class is front loaded. More work in the beginning of class and workload gets lighter throughout the semester. I highly recommend this Professor.

Professor DongQuan Ha teaches self-defense online and cares about the students. The class feels similar to an in-person one, and the feedback and answers are kind and constructive. I enjoyed the online class. It was easy to access, had a lot of good information, and was well organized.

This professor is very caring and understanding. He doesn't overcomplicate the course and is very clear on what is expected. I would definitely retake another course with Professor DongQuan if I was given the opportunity!!

Professor Ha is the best professor I have taken. Goes out of his way to make your life easier by giving fun, short assignments & quizzes are 3 questions each. He even tells you how to answer them ahead of time. There are soft due dates but you can turn everything in on the last day of class. He does this so you can take care of your other business.

I loved class because what Prof. Ha teaches really works in real life. After each lesson, I would apply his teaching ASAP and can't believe I wasn't doing it below. I never realized the dangerous situations I was in or threats that were looking at me before. Now, I don't go anywhere without my flashlight, pocketknife and "toy". Thanks Prof. Ha.

What a great class and the best part is the amazing professor. Even though it was an online class, there were so many skills taught that needs to be used everyday. The escape and evasion part was eye opening. Fun and easiest A you can get for sure.

Had a really good time in this class. It's super easy with fun assignments which were a really short paragraph each, some were only a few sentences long even. Most quizzes were 3 questions, multiple choice too. Hint...he gives you the answers in the announcements so make sure to read them each week. He cares more about your career than his class!

Wasn't expecting much from an online self defense class but it was shockingly good. it's like he's teaching you how to be Jason Borne or something. What made this class so surprisingly effective for me was it showed what I have been ignoring all along. fact is we are surrounded by dangerous people and situations. he makes you see it and it's scary.

Professor is cool AF. Took him online, had chance to meet him in person, it was crazy cause for a person who is soft spoken, humble, he can mess you up. Never judge a book by its cover is true. I was talking to him and thinking I'm standing next to a cold blooded killer. He made it sound, look like he's soft, having taken his class, I knew better.

One of the best professors around and so interesting and so fun it was very good class. Professor DongQuan Ha also looks out for your grade so you don't screw up your GPA. He teaches real stuff that you can use everyday while getting the easiest A I've ever gotten.

Real easy to get an A and it's a great class too taught by a wonderful professor who cares for his students. But you must ask for his help, he's not just gonna change your assignments and test scores for you on his own. You gotta tell him what your problem was and he'll change your grade for you.

Got my A, couldn't believe it really. I messed up on some of the assignments. When he says he's got your back covered, he definitely means it.

I didn't leave a review for Professor Ha after the semester because I was lazy but with the fires in LA, his teachings really hit home. Professor Ha is amazing, his teachings, assignments couldn't be any realer. Everything he teaches, makes you do is to prepare you for what is going on now in the LA fires. Since I needed to take a PE class, I signed up for the online self defense class. I would absolutely recommend to anyone take this course. Professor DongQuan Ha wants every single one of his students to get an A in his class. His assignments are quick and easy but also useful. Prof Ha is amazing, I took his class for asynchronous for the semester and he is really easy to take for a class, just read the material and you will be fine for the time being. He is really caring and is a down to earth person and I wish there were more professors like him for the work he puts. Thank you again Professor Ha.

This is a fantastic class. He tailors the class to students balancing many classes, so assignments and tests are all straightforward and reasonably easy. This class was fully online, and all modules were accessible from day one. You can either work week by week or complete everything in a day or two.

I loved Professor DongQuan Ha's class. It was super easy and very fun. Assignments were so easy and interesting and the quizzes were fun and believe it or not they were hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing during the final exam which I took in week 3. I actually wanted more multiple choice questions to answer so I could keep on laughing.

Professor Ha is the best professor I have taken at LBCC and his class was good and easy. It's an online class, I never saw or met him but he covered my back anyways. It would be nice if all professors were like him!

The professor genuinely cares and wants you to learn and pass. He gives real-life/fictional scenarios that were interesting and fun. Great and easy class for boosting your GPA! I would definitely recommend!

Great professor, very understanding and lenient, but you need to do your assignments.

This is by far the easiest class I have ever taken in college. Prof. Ha said during the beginning of the class that he makes it as easy as possible for people to pass, and he followed through with that promise amazingly. His assignments are very easy to understand and complete, especially because there is a certain PATTERN to them.

Such a caring professor. Would remove assignments if he felt we had been assigned to much but we only had 2 assignments in one week that took up to 10 minutes each. Definitely recommend this Professor!

He is kind and will help you if you have any issues with turning in assignments late and pushes you to get an A in his class. Honestly everyone should get an A because he made the class like others have said very easy and fun.

Best professor I have ever had. Professor made the whole class including assignments, tests and the way he taught it just right for this type of online class. Which was fun and easy. You had a lot of freedom as to when to turn in assignments and when to take the easy quizzes. I hope you get rehire to teach again next semester Professor DongQuan!

I loved the class. I liked how Professor Ha made the material fun and easy that it made me want to keep on doing the assignments and quizzes ahead of time because they were fun and interesting. Most classes, I just do things when they're due but his class it's kind of like you can't stop reading the book because you want to find out how it ends.

Like the class and materials were super easy to learn and professor was funny and very kind to his students and fastest A to get. If you need to boost your GPA to transfer, take this class!
