He grades fairly easy on your speeches, even if you mess up ;) Make sure the outlines you turn into him when making your speech are good since he goes more by that then how you present.

He is pretty straight to the point. Just get up there present what you have to present. when no presenting, just listen and give feedback. At the end of the class turn in a journal of what you did to prepare yourself for each speech and easy A.

Class is pretty simple, all you need to do is 3 presentations and a couple of quizzes. He does seem a little lazy on teaching the class but I guess the only outcome of that is that it makes it easy on students to pass the class

boy oh boy this professor was the best from speech. his class was like totaly stress free men. if you want to boost your GPA with this professor yo0u get a (B) guranteed if not something is really wrong with you. He offers so much extra credit that you should be able to pass with flying colors. his class consist of 3 (speechs, presentations) eeasy.

Took this class over winter break and had a great time! There were 3 speeches, peer review of speeches, and a final. To get a good grade on the speeches, just make sure to have good eye contact, hand gesture, and voice perception. We had to write peer reviews after each speech. The final had 7 questions and a bonus.

Professor Leonard is a great Professor. Took this Class in Winter of 2015 and I have to say it was fun! Make sure you bring your outlines and meet the requirements for his speeches! Gives great feed back and is an excellent Communicator! I highly recommend this course.

The class itself isn't too hard, just remember your speeches and pay attention to his lectures, sources, and outlines for speeches. Professor Leonard is very straightforward on his syllabus. I took him during the fall of 2014. He has you do 4-5 presentations. They are not hard at all. Professor Leonards THE 160 for non-acting majors was a true blast. He gives great feedback and allows more than enough time to memorize a scene. Would highly recommend Professor Leonard for anyone who is thinking of taking this class.

Professor Leonard is challenging but worth it, you'll learn a lot about being comfortable with public speaking in his class but don't miss more than 3 unexcused classes. As long as you follow directions for his speeches, study for the midterm and final you will receive a great grade:).

Introverts take this class during the winter! It was a total of only 9 days and you present in front of a small group. I presented a total of 5 times. 2, 3 minute informal speeches, 1, 5-7minute speech, and 2, 7-10minute speeches. Professor Leonard is very caring and will make you confident in you public speaking by the end of your last speech.

TAKE DURING THE SUMMER!!!! I hate public speaking but he makes it easy and comfortable. It goes by super quick during summer and you wont have to buy the textbook. Overall great class, and even better professor

Professor Leonard was able to provide a very great learning experience when it came THE 120. I highly recommend taking him during the winter session. No book was required. The class will go over very quickly. He is very helpful and provides very great feedback in order to improve on future speeches. He is one of the best professors I've ever had.

Professor Leonard is very organized and understanding, but he also has high expectations. Since there are only a few speeches and a quiz, you'll really have to work for a high grade. You'll also be rating your classmates' speeches. Outside of the material, you also have to attend a play and write a paper on that.

Exceptional professor always wants his speakers to improve for every speech. Only 3 speeches. One on a cultural artifact, persuasive issue, and an incident that changed you for the better/worse. He's clear about what he's expecting and honestly if you follow the structure you'll get a good grade.

This was a great speech class and by far he is the best speech professor at DH. He is strict about turning things in late but there aren't many assignments; three speeches and the mandatory attendance of a play and paper on it. The speeches aren't too hard and he gives a reasonable amount of time for them. You are also required to grade your peers.

This professor was the best. When I started I was a little scared on the material and even performing in front of the class, but I was able to break out of my comfort zone with his help. The HW he assigns is straight forward. For the most part you'll memorized lines. He's very reasonable with time and give you as much time needed to memorized.

This course only had 3 speeches to do, and 2 exams. The exams were based on vocabulary filling in the blanks to the definition. I suggest taking the class if you want to start public speaking.

As a first year student a speech class was extremely intimidating.The first day the professor explains everything & makes you feel welcome. Within two weeks it was my favorite class. You do give 3 speeches in front of class but he will make sure you are extremely prepared to feel confident. I strongly recommend this class, specially if you are shy.

His helpfulness, particularly in his quick email responses, made me feel supported and guided. Lecture videos are informative and engaging. I took this course in the spring semester of my first year, I loved it. It brought me all the way out of my shell. I learned how to be confident with all eyes on me. I learned how to become a better presenter, this has been my favorite course by far.

Fun class I took all my classes online except this one I felt like I was in summer school back in middle school just goofing around. It was a class to forget about the other ones, just kinda nerv wrecking when it came to presenting.
