culturally biased
easy enough, straight out of the book...movies
Straight from the book..classes are pointless...trick questions on exams
takes attendance.. pretty boring.. tests are tricky!
an interesting class taught by a good guy. OK assignments,a tricky group project
Trick questions on test, very biased in class discussions and boring lectures
Anti-govenment, pro black, 7 page review sheet 3 essay ques. test
Horrible class, very boring, stupid paper
likes to go overtime, longwinded, gives a lot of homework but its only like 10% of grade. Prest.
Easy class but boring lectures on stuff I learned in middle school. Very biased and focused of race, which would be ok if it were more in depth, but it is very run of the mill. Test were easy and i got an A.
Quite possibly the worst prof. ever! He is boring, rude, biased, and the overall moral of the classroom is low. There are 3 grade that matter, the midterm, the term paper and the final. Attendance is mandatory but class is painfully long! Don't take it
laziest teacher ever! random research paper that has nothing to do with the class. never returns back hw assignments. apparently everything in history is based around racism.
not too bad, apparently not as bad as 103 (I didn't take w/ him). LONG! PAINFUL! group project, but I found the material pretty interesting, not hard tests or material. Learned nothing from project, it was pointless. .
Class started out as interesting... then it got to be REALLY boring. Avoid... Avoid!
Dr. Worgs is a nice guy. I wont lie, the lectures in this class are kind of boring, but its a good review. You'll learn things you read about in middle school. Not a terribly hard grader. If you follow his review sheets you'll do fine on the tests.
Easy going, good instructor, got a B in the class with 6 classes on my schedule and im not the hardest working person alive.study and u will be ok.

BORING!!! He goes on and on and ooooon.... I hate it Hate HATE IT. If you bore easily definitely avoid this professor
BORING BORING BORING. I swear, I never fall asleep in class...but have managed to countless times in this class. Talks to the board for an hour and a half...boring.
Why fall asleep in an uncomfortable table and chair with someone's voice going on and on in the background about some godamn court when you can sleep at hoooome with a nice pillow and NO WORGS!!
Class did get boring at times. but hes a easier grader definately worth going. never gave too much homework and only 2 exams which he gives a review sheet for.
i dont kno what everyone else is talking about..yeh its not the most interesting class but he tells you exactly whats on the tests...easy project...and a really nice easygoing guy
He is one of the best teachers I have met. Also he is very helpful. Whenever you have questions, he is ready to help you. I think he is a good teacher.
Good teacher, nice guy, easy reviews for 2 exams, barely any homework, only bad part is 8 page paper you have to write
One of the best classes and best professor that I have taken during my college career. You learn alot and he is very passionate about what he teaches.
I found him very helpfull and interestd in his work. I would recommend him.
Just a mediocre teacher. Explains things ok, doesn't make government interesting. Unorganized and unaware of whats going on. I've had worse teachers, but he's just sorta dull.
Nice guy. Boring teacher. I was very interested in the topic of the class but he put me to sleep. Midterm, a final, and a 15 page paper. The paper is very broad.
nice but boring...rambles...alot of notes 2 tests...25 page paper...not hard though
No Comments
terrible, would not recommed...gives a 15 page paper and then turns around and gives a 12 page paper...hes crazy and assigns alot of work that no one has ever seen again!! would not recommend
not a bad dude, funny at times, and wants to make his students care. Knows his stuff, but the final was very hard. Reading helps, and showing up does too. He's nice, but hard to get to know bc there are about 100 students in the class. Boring topics, but movies here and there. If you like gov. take this class, if not you can prolly get by.
You have to be a senior POSC major to take this class, so I'm assuming some topical interest. He loves the topic- community development. I would suggest learning to love it too because there's a lot of work required. Good teacher, though who will give plenty of guidance if you need it.
Not particularly challenging; you discuss the history of American cities from colonial times to now. Lots of focus on racial discrimination and community development. Class consists of two exams, and a paper profiling a major city. Straightforward exam questions, and he's not a hard essay grader. PARTICIPATE: it will get you major points!
Very Good teacher. Reading the text helps a lot, but if you are willing to learn he will definitely teach you the subject well. Test were easy if you studied from the notes and read the text. Assignments were graded tough but they weren't overly demanding
Dr. Worgs is pretty easy, do the homeworks and go to class. Pretty simple. Mid-term was a joke I got an A, final was fairly difficult. The politics project can catch up to you if you procrastinate. I did the paper, a lot of work either way.
i liked this class and prof worgs. he loves to hear the opinions of students and mixes up lecture with discussions, movies and other stuff. be ready for an annoying political science project or research paper tho. but take his class if u can, it really made me think and i learned alot
Excellent Professor. Gives great notes and is understandable (clearly states information). Take this class because it is very interesting.
Dr, Worgs is a good professor. I never opened the book. He writes everything out on the board that needs to go into your notes. The tests were a little hard but if you take good notes and pay attention in class you'll be fine. He requires either a project OR a research paper. Overall, I enjoyed the class and would take him again.
great professor interesting makes it understandable with out being dry take him i learned alot idk if my grade is good but he def tought me alot
great class, great teacher...take his upper level courses too. urban poltics, public admin. - he's real relatable.
took him for am. nat. govt. and it was ok. could have made the class better but wasint a bad teacher. i got a B- but thought i should have done better. i did all my reading and everything. tests were kinda hard and even made you go one night to watch a movie but didnt stay himself. if you have to take this class and this time is good, he's not bad
Prof Worgs was a good teacher. Go to class, take notes and study for the exams and you'll be fine. midterm and final only, with either a research paper or project. easy a if you try.
class is based on 3 grades midterm, final and political report. No margin for error. The classes are so boring and you dont need to go to any of them just study before each test its in the text. Grading is horrible, take someone else
Prof. Worgs is a great teacher. He is easy to understand and approaches the material in an logical way. I took it in the winter and it was a midterm, final, case study, public administrator profile, and weekly case reviews.
I have had him for a few classes and enjoyed them all. He really is a great teacher. Participate in the class discusions and he will like you no matter what your opinions are. Great guy and teacher.
Class and material was very easy to understand;however, providing a broad range of knowledge of the material on tests is a different story. It also seemed he was a bit biased..no idea why.Didn't communicate with emails. For tests, don't write too much. Otherwise he wont know whether to leave the points he took off to begin with or add more points.
Donn is a great prof!
You find it VERY DIFFICULT to follow him!!!! He's ALWAYSSS ADDING TOOO MUCH INFORMATION AT THE LAST MINUTE!!
he's one of those professors you want to take. great guy, the class discussions are fun and deep. his class makes you think of how and why things are the way they are in urban areas. i enjoyed the class. tests werent too hard as long as you understood the concepts in the study guide
Mediocre class/professor. Rambled on and on. He tried to make things interesting....but didn't. 2 exams and an annoying, big, and time consuming political project that served no purpose other than just being another grade in the book.
Mixes the class up occasionally but mainly just lectures. If you take notes and pay attention (which can be tough to do) you will do well. He's a tough grader. Only 2 exams and 1 project. Project is time consuming. Is available to meet for help but isn't too clear. Not bad for a GenEd but probably more exciting professors out there.
spends 7 classes on civil rights and one on each the congress, the presidency, and the judicial system, AND ITS AN AMERICAN GOVERNMENT CLASS. is absolutely horrible at responding to emails and gives a useless project that no one learns anything from and its super time consuming.
If you have to or want to take this class, take it with another professor. Dr. Worgs is not the easiest grader and his lectures aren't engaging. He treats half the class like a "politics of the civil rights movement" class. I have friends who took other professors and really enjoyed the class so I would advise doing the same.
Obviously Prof. Worgs wrote his notes for this class years ago and refuses to deviate from them. So, he rushes through material he doesn't enjoy (but has to test on) and spends most of the time on the Civil Rights Mvt. He insists on students meeting w/ him outside class but has terrible office hours. His assignments are vague and pointless.
He loves to hear himself talk, and will cut u off mid-sentence. Content is good, teaching method not, not clear in what he wants from you and throws assignments at u randomly. Not to mention a 15pg research paper along 15pg take home final due during finals wk n 4 day after the research paper.... i dont recommend and will not take courses with him
He was an overall nice guy, but was dreadfully boring. Talked all class, barely wrote notes on the board. Tests were tricky, but were based pretty much off the textbook. Big research project at the end, start early!!
Worgs is brilliant. Anyone with poor things to say about him is lazy! He is extremely reasonable. His class definitely requires work, more than I or anyone would like to do I am sure, but the fact remains he is brilliant, interesting, fair, and reasonable. I am the epitome of a lazy student but I enjoyed his class & didn't mind the work.Take Worgs!
He's horrible. I got an A on the midterm and ended up with a B in the class. I attended everyday and took awesome notes. This was my first B in posc. Midterm, 15 page paper due the last day of class then he springs a 13 page takehome final due in 6 days during finals week. He's absolutely horrible and hates your opinion. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!
The class was so-so. He's biased, and isn't so helpful. His expectations are kind of ridiculous cause as soon as you finish writing a 15 page paper and create a slideshow he gives you a ridiculously long take home final. Take a different upper level POSC course if you can. Or at least take this course with a different professor
Worgs will not respond to emails and he is not helpful outside of class. He is very, very knowledgeable about the subject and wants students to read the readings and participate in discussion. His tests were very difficult. I am a good student and struggled with the all-free response test BUT looking back, he gave us a very thorough study guide.
I loved Prof Worgs. He requires a lot of reading but the class was discussion based and taking notes. He is extremely clear with the definitions he would like you to know. His study guides are way too long with things you do not need to know for the exam but still finish them bc you never know. I loved his class. I would def recommend.
Dr. Worgs is a great professor. Knows the subject and is passionate about it. Expects that you pay attention and follow the discussions and readings. Pay attention and take notes. His tests is based on lectures and some of the readings but if you take good notes you are set. I would take him again!
Minister POSC 375. I totally recommend him! Would take more classes with him! He's lectures are amazing! He will ask you 20 times during the class if you understand everything. A lot of readings to do and he actually expects you to do it because he asks questions based on those readings every class. Mid-term was easy! Take Home final pretty hard!
Entire midterm is being based off of class notes, and nothing we've learned from the textbook. Studying for it now, and I still have no idea what this class even is.
I just took his online class and it was the worst. It was only a month, and he made the assignments due every 3 days plus a book review with a total of 10+pages. The midterm had 75 multiple choice, 3 essays with 1h:30min completion. Final 2 hours 89 multiples and 4 essays, you go overtime you loose 5 pointsminute. DO NO TAKE his summer class!
Reading is important, does give study guides for mid/final, easy short homework, long paper and presentation due at end of semester. Nice guy and is full of info but is kind of a tough grader and has said before "I have no empathy" so don't try to reason with him. Extra credit that was offered you have to do EXTRA work for a small amount of points
Took his public administration minimester class, although I am a crmj major I learned a lot. Got an 85 on the midterm but unsure of the case analysis papers we had to turn in during the course of the semester. Never returned those back to us & doesn't use BlackBoard for grading.
Gives detailed study guides that are very helpful in taking tests. Most of your grades will come from the midterm. Gives a 10page research paper & presentation but is very vague on what it should include. Hes not very helpful when you come to him with questions. You need to complete the readings in order to pass this class.E
Dr. Worgs is the type of professor that doesnt like to utilize the boards or projectors in anyway. All he does is require like 4+ books for the course (One we never read) and he expects you to do unrealistic amounts of reading within a week. Then you come to his class to talk about the readings. Thats it. Not my style of learning.
If you're interested about the subject definitely take the class. I didn't use the required readings because I was very attentive in class. If I were you I would go to every class and skim the readings.
He makes AA studies boring. Gives lots of unnecessary reading. If you know a bit about AA history and come to class you should do fine in the class. A midterm, final, 10 page paper and a few easy homeworks. He takes attendance but I missed half the classes and got a B. Use he's review sheets to study and you should pass the exams and the class.
Your grade is honestly what you make it. He uses slides to present lectures and doesn't post them on BlackBoard so in order to get notes, either come to class or ask a classmate. Pretty easy class, but is a tough grader. He doesn't post grades or keep up with them like he should. I didn't get my final grade until a week after semester ended.
I was initially excited for African American Studies but he wiped that away very early on. He's a tough grader and talks to students in a kind of condescending way. Ruined my first semester of freshman year with his attitude early in the morning to be honest.
Worgs knows everything about urban government. HOWEVER we finish in less than 2 weeks and there is nothing on blackboard graded. There is no grading criteria for exams, 15 page city profile, or even any directions about a 'formal presentation' on the city. Hes smart and the content is interesting but the way he teaches is actually beyond me
While the readings were INTENSE (really OMG), and there is ALOT of writing, I really enjoyed my time with Dr. Worgs. He is down to earth and knows these concepts are hard to grasp. He simplifys dense material and gives introverts a safe space to participate. He talks to students like he is our mentor. Definitely a memorable professor!
If you actually want to learn about the subject, take Worgs. This guy is the best political science professor Ive ever had at Towson. Public admin was also the most work Ive ever had to do for a class. I knew this going in, I had him for urban govt too. So much work, but fascinating, and taught extremely well. Dude knows his stuff.
Professor Worgs clearly knows what he is talking about and can teach it very well. However, taking this course online was just a mess. Nothing was organized on blackboard and it was never clear what we were supposed to do and when we were supposed to do it. Sometimes he would cancel assignments without telling us and they would still appear online
TERRIBLE!! do not take this man. he barely updates grades and is a tough grader for no reason. the worst POLI sci professor at Towson in my opinion. also the exams are lowkey hard and he expects us to go into so much detail with little time.
Professor Worgs literally reads off of slide shows the entire class and is kind of a jerk. He is very inconsiderate of the circumstances students go through and goes out of his way to be condescending . He literally called this girl out during her presentation and made comments that should have been reserved privately. Do not take him!!!!
I must argue, he is very disorganized and expects so much that does not specify in the directions for assignments. He also does not utilize rubrics, answer emails in a timely fashion, and is never available during office hours. Dont take him.
Very unclear on assignment requirements. Does not use rubrics, and expects you to just know what to do. He takes forever to grade assignments on top of the fact that he grades very hard. He never responds to emails, a follow-up email is always required to get him to respond. The course syllabus also does not line up with due dates on Blackboard.
I have never taken any type of history or POSC class before this class so for me it was fairly hard. If you stick strictly to the syllabus you'll be ok but his blackboard is very disorganized and it's really hard to know when things are due. You will have to read a lot and write a lot so be prepared if you take him. he also takes a while to grade.
Dr. Worgs is by far the best professor Ive had at Towson. I had him for African-American Studies and he is an amazing professor! Attending class and taking notes is important since topics discussed in class come on exams. He describes and discusses topics thoroughly! An easy A is very attainable! Also, be prepared to read a couple books!
Prof Worgs doesn't have the highest score on here so I was nervous to take his class. He is funny, smart, and laid-back. He takes his courses seriously and grades tough, but if you show up and participate you will do well. He is also very passionate about working with students and was flexible with dates and deadlines.
Dr. Worgs is a great professor. He really tries to make the class interactive and keep us involved. There is a lot of homework like readings and assignments. He also is a stickler for attendance. He is a good lecturer though for the most part and is very knowledgeable.
The professor is a nice professor, let me just put that out there, as long as you know what you're doing and go to class, you'll be okay. But once you start falling behind it does get difficult. He does take a long time, LIKE A LOOONG TIME, to grade things so you don't really know your progress until you're done the semester.
Worgs is a GREAT guy, maybe not the best teacher. He reads slides the whole class & is the SLOWEST grader ever. It's May 19th and I have 4 assignments in the gradebook. As for the exams, they are all written and he graded mine pretty harshly. Plus we had to do a 12 page paper... ALSO!! he is VERY strict about attendance :/ lowkey don't recommend
His exams are 15+ written response questions. I don't even think its humanely possible to even remember all those different topics. when almost everyone failed the midterm, he didn't really offer much help. Also, from the 1st class til now he still hasnt put anything in BB besides 4-point HW assignments. if you decide to take him, im sorry 4 you.
I would not recommend. He doesn't grade anything until after the final. Had a 12 page paper which wasn't terrible. Had to buy a book but I never read it and we only talked about it twice. He reads info off of the slides and it becomes boring very quick. The class is interesting, but he doesn't make it so. He is a tough grader when he does grade.
