shes very helpful, you must go to class and pay attention, and she is very willing to help if you need it. I think she is very clear and knows what she is talkin about! I really didnt enjoy history at all but she actually made it quite interesting to me!

I really like Dr. Bohanan's class. Definately go to class. Her lectures are very clear and organized and interesting. It's really important to read because 25% of test questions come from reading. I absolutely recommenf this class.

Take lots of notes and read the book. Broad tests that cover random things; be prepared and study & youll be fine. She also gives a vocab list + a map of the geography section before every test. A 4 pt bonus on every test and with good attendance you can get a 2 pt curve on your avg. Take Dr.B!

This is my favorite teacher at Auburn! She is very interesting and nice. She is also very helpful and wants you to do well in her class. Try to get her for both history 1 and 2 so you can know how to take her tests. History 2 was a little harder but I ended up with an A in both classes. You have to study though!!!

i know all people care about are easiness and good grades, but if you want to learn a lot, take this class. dr. bohannan is not easy but got to class everyday, take good notes, and read the assigned reading and youll do fine. it is a lot of work but you will also get alot out of it. plus she makes history interesting and not many people can do that

This teacher is the only good teacher that is keeping me alive this semester! she is wonderful and her lectures are detailed and straightforward. the tests come straight from the notes and if you skim the book you will do great. Attendance in class is important because you need all the notes to do well. She is really nice and i highly recommend her

Pretty good teacher. Tests are all multiple choice, but they're tough because there is only 4 tests all year, so lots of information on each one. Buy U-notes, memorize them, and read the book where she tells you to, and the class is doable.

Know everything on Key Terms list, know Maps, and Skim the reading (bold words especially!) Part of book she tests on is not in your notes at all so you can easily find it!

Dr. Bohannan is a very interesting lecturer...I hated history until I took her, she makes it interesting. The tests arent exactly easy but as long as you take good notes or buy the U-Notes you'll be fine, and the maps on the test are the easiest and can be studied in ten minutes. She is not teaching next semester which sucks.

This teacher made my freshman year! I love her and her class. Her lectures are not as boring as I thought they wee going to be and her tests are easy. As long as you go to class and do the chapter reviews at the end of the chapters, you will get A's or B's on the tests. She's also really sweet and will help you out if you ever need her.

Dr. Bohannon is very compassionate about history, her tests are not tricky you just have to take notes and read them and piece them together like a puzzle. READ READ READ the textbook about 25% comes from textbook and she gives study guides which is very helpful. You will guarantee a B if you miss class here and there. her tests are M/C. =)

Test are a little tricky. MEMORIZE the notes. Go to SI or get someone who goes to SI to send you the notes. Become friends with the athletes- they get notes. Overall good class. If you study and overview the book you should make an easy B and with a little more work an A.

Ms. Bohanan is so nice and a great teacher! She is very approachable and eager to work with students. It took me a little while to get used to the format of her lecture, and, although the test were harder than I anticipated, it wasn't that bad! If you make sure to go to class, study some, and READ, the class is an easy A.

Donna Jean is outstanding. I took her for HIST 1010 & 1020. Her tests are all multiple choice with a non-cumulative final. Read the book! You will make an A if you read the lecture chapters. She is one of the few teachers who captivated me during lecture. She's smart and is very eloquent in her knowledge.

Attendance wasn't mandatory, but you need to go to understand and be ready for the tests. She's an overly fair grader and would probably give a corpse a C for effort! The nicest woman, always laughing, and extremely helpful. Reading quizes, essay tests, and a powerpoint project. If you love this area of study she is definitely the person to take!

Her lectures are actually like listening to a story. She is also quite warm and Southern and friendly and truly cares about her students. She's almost "too" nice. She's A+ in my book !

What can I say about Donna Bohanan that would do her justice? She is amazing, in every sense of the word. I was eager to go to class every day and was never worried about the test because I felt like I had been taught everything I needed to know. Do yourself a favor and take this class.

Knows what she's talking about, and working my butt off all semester. Went to every lecture and read every page in the text to get a low C. She tests over stuff she doesn't teach or expect you to know. Way too hard.

Make sure you read the book. Twice. Lectures don't really help you with exam material, but she does make her lectures interesting. You really have to keep up on reading the text and going to SI sessions.

Bohanan is awesome. Tests are 75% from her lecture, and 25% from the book, which she tells you what to read for the test. Take good notes and go to class and you'll get an A, no doubt.

Read the book, go to class, and you will make an A. Guaranteed. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you miss less than 3 classes, then she will give you two percentage points as a gift (so your 88 will be a 90, or your 78 will be an 80, etc.) She tells history like it is a story. LOVE THIS CLASS.

Class was very easy, but professor was sometimes condescending. She often spoke to the class as though we were not adults in a university-level class. Often, she would use vocabulary a 10 year old could understand. As a senior, I've never had a professor speak to a class in that manner.

She was great! I'm disappointed she wasn't teaching the only other history class I have to take next semester. I liked how she was able to call students by name from across the room in a class of 300. She tells history like its one big story, and you can tell she enjoys what she is teaching. If you don't do good in this class, you deserve it.

Prior to Dr. Bohanan's class, history was torture subject to me. That said, Dr. Bohanan gave me every tool needed to get an A. She is extremely kind, can be funny, and made an effort to get to know me by name and my life's story. I would advise taking from her. Reading/skimming the book is advised for difference between B+ and an A.

This woman can enrapture an entire 200+ person lecture with the marvels of history no matter if you like the subject or not. However, there are only 3 tests the entire year and they are NOT easy. Many students struggle because the tests cover so much material. She is an amazing lecturer, but if you don't take perfect notes you won't pass.

She's such a sweet lady and has a great sense of humor. However, you must go to class and take good and detailed notes. Her tests are pretty hard, 50 multiple choice and a map, but there are Student Instruction sessions on Tuesday and Thursday which helped a lot. She's happy to help and her door's always open. You absolutely have to read the book.

I mean it's a lecture class, what more is there to expect? She is very sweet in her office hours and there is no homework. 4 exams and an attendance grade. total of 500 points. Get ready to work hard for your grade, but all in all.. she's a great professor and her lectures are good.

Read the book too, it's not awful and there are quite a few book questions on each test.

Her lectures are really interesting. You can tell she loves what she teaches. Just write down the definition of the places and people and study them and you will make an easy A. The only setback i had was when i missed a day of class. You REALLY need to go to her class because she covers A LOT in one lecture.

Dr. Bohanan is very knowledgeable of history and listening to her lectures are the highlight of my day. She lectures like she is telling the story of history which is very interesting and easy to understand. She likes paragraph notes so learn how to write those because it makes studying easier. Do not miss class if you can help it.

In terms of lecturing, she is great. Very easy to follow and comprehend. However, the tests are another story. Only 13 of the test is lecture based, the rest is all from the book. Simply put: if you don't read, you fail this class. Almost to the point of memorizing the text. The most obscure random facts are on the test. Overall, an okay course.

She's a gives long lectures, but she emphasizes key phrases several times so that you are sure to get them down in your notes. I really enjoyed her class. Going to class is a must. 75% of the tests come straight from the lecture, and at the end of the semester she will cut you some slack on a borderline grade if you came to class often.

She's great, you must go to class every time or you probably won't get an A, right down everything she says from the power points as though your writing a condensed novel on history, then memorize it for each test (10-20pages)also do the reading, about 5 questions on each test come from it. Dr. Bohanan was very passionate about history and her passion poured into her students. She lectured in class and gave reading material at the beginning of the course. Without reading the book the highest grade you will make is a B. She hands nothing to you but is very approachable and wants to help. I wish she was my teacher for next semester.

Bohannon is very good at lecturing. It's pretty interesting for the most part. Her test can be difficult. You must go to class in order to pass her class. Nearly all the questions come from lecture and maybe 4-5 questions come from the book. Reading is not mandatory but can be the difference between an A and a B. If you need extra help go to SI.

She made me excited to come to class! She has such a sweet heart and was always willing to help me if I was confused with my notes. Her tests are TOUGH (more like general concepts of overall ideas and how they affected other things in time rather than specific topics). I strongly recommend keeping up with the readings

I took Dr. Bohanan for both HIST1010 and 1020, she gives 4 tests per semester including the non-comprehensive final. 4 tests and attendance grade. Her lectures are amazing so i wouldn't recommend skipping. Her exams are 80% from her lecture and 20% from the book. But i would recommend only knowing the bold words. Just read over your notes over and over again and the exam will be easy. It's a lot of notes but its so interesting. I'd def recommend her for history

Loved Dr. Bohanan. Her tests are pretty difficult, but she gives an 8 point bonus on the last test and a 4 point bonus on the other three tests. The only grades you have are the four tests so that's pretty rough but she gives you two bonus points to your average if you miss less than 3 classes. Just type your notes in class and rewrite them.

Dr. Bohanan's lectures are great. I enjoyed every minute of her class. Although attendance is not mandatory, you will be rewarded for good attendance if your grade is close. I have never really been interested in history until I had Bohanan. Her lectures are very interesting and she tells you everything you need to know for the test. In the book pages, all you have to do is read the bold words basically, thats all she puts on the test. As long as you go to class and pay attention, you should do really good in the class

Didn't do well on my first two tests (62and70). I went to office hours, and she is very kind and wants to help you. I am personally not a history person. The tests were fair, just take good notes and study them! Textbook questions are 25% of the test. She will bump your grade up if you've made a B on a test before and your average is at least a 75.

This class was more difficult than I expected a basic-level history class to be, but I feel more well-rounded having taken it. Dr. Bohanan is a great lecturer that explains the topics well and keeps you interested. You have to take pages of notes every class to do well on the tests, but she is willing to help you out if you put in the work.

I went to her office hours countless times and she always greeted me with a smile and was willing to help me understand the material. She's a real "mover and shaker" in the history field and probably one of the best history professors Auburn will ever have.

Lots of SPECIFIC information on tests and way too much prep for a class that really doesn't apply to my major. Tests can be unnecessarily difficult, and they're your only grades.

She's amazing as a human. If you are looking to do better and you reach out, you will. You are only graded on the 4 tests and that's it. No homework. You NEED to study. Professor Bohanan was an amazing lecturer. She provided basic PowerPoints that she would go into more detail on in her lectures. On top of all the information being provided in the lecture, it also gave extra credit. Her tests were entirely multiple-choice, and her final was non-cumulative.

Amazing storyteller; take great notes during the lectures; grade is determined by 4 exams including the final, read the textbook because 20% of questions (multi choice) will come from it. Rounds up grades with great attendance as long as it's 2 points or less from the higher letter grade. Consider studying by reading from notes instead of quizlet.

I loved her! She tells history like a story, which kept me engaged. The whole class is centered around her lectures, so it is important to go. The only grades are 4 exams. My one complaint: she did NOT upload notes or detailed slides, so if you miss for any reason, you could only get caught up through another person's lecture notes.

One of my favorite classes! She is an amazing storyteller, and I looked forward to going. I did struggle with the fact that the only grades were 4 exams, but they were all multiple choice. I would consider attending SI sessions to review content far ahead of time. Attendance is not mandatory; however, lectures and note-taking are key to success.

Dr. Bohanan was an amazing storyteller and I loved her lectures. There are only 4 tests and those are the only grades you get for the semester with no drop grade. Her exams are based on her lectures so if you miss one you're at a disadvantage as her slides don't go into detail. As long as you stay on top of the notes and the textbook you'll do good

Dr. Bohanon is the best professor I have had at Auburn & will probably remain my favorite. My mom had her when she went to Auburn and she told me to IMMEDIATELY enroll in her class. She is the best storyteller and makes history genuinely interesting and fun. You will have to go to class and I recommend taking notes with pen and paper. Study notes!

Also go to her office hours. She'll help clear up any questions and go over the notes with you. She' s very personable too. She'll be more likely to help you in the future too the more often you go to her.

I would adopt this Prof as my grandma, she's so wholesome. Make sure you get to class; it's not mandatory, but you'll struggle if you don't go. Your entire (yes, entire) grade is based on 4 sectional exams, so make sure you prep for those a lot.

Dr. Bohanan is seriously the sweetest and very intelligent how she remembers so many aspects of history. However, her tests are nearly impossible and go into so much depth. I never missed a single lecture and would study 10+ hours a week just to get a C on every test.

Super nice, but if you do not attend the lecture, you will fail. Tests are pretty hard, but she is a good teacher. You really just need to learn how to study for the class.

Brain dead easy content, if you didn't sleep through high school history you'll be fine. Decent lectures. Tests can be worded kinda stupidly but just read closely. She will claim you need to read the textbook, but in the entire class I think I missed 2 exam questions from not reading.

Dr. Bohanan is a great professor, honestly one of the best I've ever had, she tells the content as a story. There are only 4 exams, each worth 25% of your grade, and attendance isn't mandatory but you get a grade boost if you show up. The tests aren't difficult if you pay good attention, take good notes, and study at least a week in advance.

Very difficult class for a beginning history. All MC tests and a lot of select the BEST or WORST answer. Might as well just give yourself a B or C. Beginning history should not be my hardest class.

Dr Bohanan gives great lectures, but they are fast-paced. She makes the lectures interesting by giving them in a storytelling manner. I used to struggle with finding history boring, but this class changed my perspective because of her lectures. There are only 4 test grades that make up your final grade. The final is noncomprehensive.

I LOVED her. Got my grade from an F to a B so, do not let the lack of grades scare you away. Super helpful in office hours and always has bonus points on her exams. Would take again 100x over.
