Great teacher in a cool class. Read the books and go to class (it pays off).
Very interesting. straightforward.
Seems scary at first.. but class is UNBELIEVABLY easy and she is hilarious
this class is soooooo easy that I felt I was in the 1st grade!!!!
Class is pointless and highly disorganized. Sends perpetually annoying emails
Sweetest lady. really wants you to do well. emails alot! TAKE THIS CLASS :)
Really easy class, go to every lecture for bonus points on tests!
The most enjoyable class & professor I have had outside my major!
Budani is the best, take her class if you can. straightforward and fun!

Great lady, very interesting class, learned a lot from lectures and papers
Best teacher ever! Easy class, easy exams, easy A!
VERY EASY!! given study guides, readings=easy, many opps for EXTRA CREDIT!
dont bother buying a notebook
Great teacher easy class TONS of extra credit just for going to class easy A
seems to care about students, easy class, all tests direct from study guides
easiest class i have ever taken
if you dont get an A there is something seriousely wrong with you. seek help.
If you don't get an A, I'll eat poop
This class should be called Automatic 4.0 Class She gives you all the answers!
SHE ROCKS! Passionate about material. Caring about students!
Great teacher, very helpful and caring. The easiest A I ever got.
EASIEST CLASS EVER, Study Guides=Tests Done Final Exam in 12 min no joke
SHE'S RELATED TO FRANCIS FORD CUPPOLA...but she already told you a dozen times!!
EASIEST CLASS EVER. if you can write your name and a present a chapter to a class, you can pass. Don't miss this class for anything. Haha i didn't even have the 7 or 8 books we needed!
I took intro to cultural and social anth with Budani and loved it so much that I took an honors colloquium with her as well. She is an awesome teacher and does a great job of conveying her love of anthropology to the class.
This class is great, and honest to god an absolute joke. If you don't get an A you seriously are completley retarted.
She lectures straight from the book and she gives out extra credit all the time. She's also really funny so I recommend taking one of her classes.
YOU SHOULD WANT TO MARRY THIS WOMAN AFTER TAKING THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Multiple choice exams with questions she gave out ahead of time. Easiest class I've taken here. She makes lectures bearable cuz she's funny.
all you need to do is memorize the first word of the question and the first word of the answer from the study guides and you will get an A. no joke.
THE BEST! I'm in my fourth class with her, and she never ceases to amaze me. Her one desire in life seems to be to open your mind to new perspectives on the world around you! She succeeds beyond belief! Not always easy, but WORTH IT!
pretty easy. do the readings, present your chapters and show up to class. no exams.
she rocks
this class is real easy...you do 3 six page papers based on books you read, 2 in class presentations on book chapters, and class participation. if you get below a B, you are the dumbest person on earth or you just didn't go to class.
I LOVE BUDANI.
Really easy class, but attendance is mandatory and the class is so boring you'll probably want to shoot yourself. Only read the books you have a presentation on because you get to pick which book you want to write the papers on.
easy easy easy shows lots of videos in class, does not speak clear at all but it doesn't matter cause she gives out study guides which are the EXACTLY the same questions gonna be on the test
Class is easy, just as long as you do the papers. Test come straight from study guides, which she gives before the test.
she's the typical cute old lady...gives study guides that have the same questions as the tests...lectures are sentences straight from the book...so don't worry about reading on your own..keeps attendence
sweetest old lady alive! she looks the mom from the movie "Requiem for a dream"...kinda creepy...but easy class and great teacher.
Worstclass ever.I don't know what all these smileyfaces are about. She's not smart, can't pronounce big words, gives you all the questions to her tests before you take them, which ISN't good teaching, her lectures consist of reading word for word off of a paper she gives you.Awful.And i'm an anthro major
Perfect class to get rid of your multicultural requirement, this woman is not only easy but hysterical. She basically gives you the exam in the study guides. If you actually wannalearn this stuff and get a worse grade, take someone else.
SOOOO BORING, but easy grader.
She is crazy, writes nasty emails to students, and she isn't the best grade keeper. GO in and make sure she has the grade you deserve. This was such a waste I haven't learned anything about anthropology.
BUDANI IS THE BEST, GOOD CLASS AND SHE IS FROM BROOKLYN SO I GOT LOVE FOR HER. BROOKLYN STAND UP!!!
If you're looking for an easy A, this is definately it... Budani is a little odd, but a total sweetheart (especially in office hours). Class put me to sleep 80% of the time.
This class is the biggest joke. She's such a weirdo! But she can be funny and usually lets class out early. Don't bother buying the books...all tests questions come from study guides and if you go to review sessions you'll get the answers before the test. Boring, but easy A.

She is an amazing teacher. From NY, talks funny, very nice, lets you out early! Very easy A. gives you study guides and answers before the tests. one project of a family tree. (even if you can't draw you'll get an A) Best teacher at UD!!!!
She is the worst professor I've ever had. She is an absolute moron. She has no idea how to work powerpoint or e-mail and all of her writing is riddled with typos. The class is ludicrously easy, and she treats you like a 4 year old, and gives out the answers to everything. She doesn't listen to questions from students. I like anth, and I have an A+.
Couldn't agree more with the last comment. The amount of typos in her notes makes it seem like she types while wearing mittens. If you miss elementary school, drawing on poster board with magic markers, and rote memorization, take this class. Also take if you don't really care about Anthropology and just want an easy A. This woman is a joke.

An embarrassment to the University; has no clue how to teach, spell, give tests, take attendence, or even record grades (probably just gives everyone A's). Absolute worst teacher I've ever had.
TAKE THIS CLASS!!! It is literally the easiest class the University has to offer. Gives out the exam questions the class before, all multiple choice. You have to try not to get an A in this class. Really sweet old lady who in all her powerpoints can't spell at all. Very easy class.
She is an awesome teacher! A really kind-hearted lady, she gives out the answers before the exams because she really wants her students to do well. She grades fairly and as long as you show an interest in the subject and participate in discussions you'll get an A. I don't know why anyone would complain about a couple typos, what's that about?
UD class of 94
Extremely hard.....avoid at all costs
She's not as easy as she used to be. Now she assigns lots of homeworks, and projects. The tests are pretty easy. Don't buy all the books, you'll waste your money! Buy Kottack, Spardley, Robbins, and maybe Haines....the other 2 you'll never need
Too many text books for a 100 level class; no visual aid to accompany lectures, lectures sound as if shes reading from a book, most confusing syllabus ever created...might as well have let me guess when work was due. Tests and quizzes multiple choice...questions based on random trivia about different cultures, overall horrible class.
she's crazy. the comments before do not apply, as she changed her format around. NO review sheets, reads straight from the book, assigns work then doesnt collect it, changes her syllabus daily, makes no sense in class, tests on random information. Overall very disrespectful to students... can still get a good grade, but assigns 5 ch./night as h.w.-
The class was interesting, but it was dry cause she read right out of the book. I think she's nice as a person but as a professor she's mediocre because I think more needs to be done in lectures rather than reading out of the books. She does however grade fairly and gives you feedback on homework and papers.
Prof. is genuinely interested in teaching the subject matter. There are a lot of books for this course, and she lectures straight from them, so if you read, you don't always need to go to class. A lot of homework is assigned, which makes up half of your course grade. Syllabus is somewhat unclear. Don't underestimate the exams. Easy group b...
She assigns too much homework, requires too much reading (don't bother doing it all, she tells you which chapters to know for the tests), asks you to purchase TOO many books (overally they cost me more than $200), and her lectures are absolutely miserable to attend - she just reads out of the textbooks. Terrible class- and I'm an anthro major.
Whoever said she probably just gives all A's wasn't lying...I stopped going to class halfway through the semester, didn't do ANY of the 5 major assignments, and still got a C. She makes the students do the work for her, almost totally discussion-based. She's disorganized, can't spell or pronounce words. Texts were repetitive, learned almost nothing
Absolutely ridiculous for a 100 level course--assigns an absurd amount of busy work and grades it harshly. bizarre lecturer. does not speak clearly and randomly spells words in the middle of sentences. her voice makes me cringe. takes attendance but lectures are plagerized from the book. cant do other work in her class b/c her voice is distracting
For a anthro100 course, this required way too much work. Class attendance was mandatory and very boring. Assigned way too much work! Exams did not have material discussed in class. Lectures were straight out of the book. Very boring class!
Although the course does require a lot of work, Dr. Budani is flexible. She recognized that some students were overwhelmed so she eliminated some homework assignments. She is very nice if you meet with her during office hours.
Wow, hands down the worst class Ive ever taken at UD. Absurd amount of pointless busy work, miserable readings, the lectures are read word for word off a piece of paper, exams were way too hard...i can't believe she's a professor..DO NOT TAKE
Not a joke elective!! Lots of assisnments, mandatory attendance, very hard tests Also I got a 50 on the first exam and an 80 onthe second and probably bombed the final...and still managed to get a B+ in the class. So if you do attend class and turn in your assignments she does help you out with your final grade in the end.
Yes, she does require quite a bit of work for her classes. My suggestion is to read the books - they'll really help you. Brush up on your writing skills as well, and don't skip class. If you do these things, the class isn't bad. She's genuinely interesting in her subjects and will engage in conversation with her students. I recommend her classes.
Probably the worst professor I had out of my four years. Budani simply read the text, in a monotone, for the entire duration of class. There was almost no teacher-student interaction during class as she read lectures (written by previous TA's, not herself) word for word. Exams and projects were ridiculous. Dont take it, not worth your time or money
This class was surprisingly enjoyable. Only 3 take home tests, 2 in class presentations but the class requires several novels. Must read novels for the take home essays. Budani knows her stuff, overall pretty interesting
she's a little bizarre and the books were expensive but if you put the effort into the class and do your work its a really easy class. a lot of extra credit. the class is a pain because of the 3 exams and 3 5-7 pg essays but its really easy. she curved the first and second exam by 16 and 10 points. def take for multicultural and group B
I thought this class would be an easy A like I had heard, but she decided to get a lot harder when I had her. There were over 10 books that we read throughout the semester and wrote reports on. Attendance was mandatory. She did give out a lot of extra credit assignments which really boosted my grade at the end, but I still didn't end up with an A.
Nice lady. Class has a couple papers and 3 exams with lots of extra credit. Write a decent paper and go to office hours for her to grade. I got 100 on every paper. Ended up with A- because I slacked before the final. She gives study guides for exams. Easy A
Ignore all comments that compliment or promote this class in any way. It is hard to believe that the professor has a ligitimate degree. she speaks unclearly, monotonously, and hardly teaches. the class is a joke, a bore, and an annoyance. do not take it. anthro might be bearable w. other teachers but not her
Easy class (I have not read a single page in the book). When you write the papers just make it sound like you learned a lot and you realized things that you didn't think about before and you will get an A on every paper. Also she takes attendance every day but you can just fall sleep when you get there.
This class is mandatory for all anthropology majors. The first day of class you get the syllabus and it is a ton of reading and a reading critique twice a week. It is actually very easy. She is an easy grader and shows some good films. She will help with whatever you need. This class was extrememly interesting. Just tedious readings.
Mandatory and incredibly useful course, I learned a lot. By far the most stressful course I've taken though. The syllabus changed every class period, thankfully for the better though! I would certainly take another class with her!
She was never clear about her syllabus, but just do as she says and you should get a good grade. She's pretty nice.
Dr. Budani is a great teacher. There are a lot of books needed for her class, and attendance is mandatory. She usually has a summary due every class of what you were supposed to read and it was worth points when graded. She is really nice and gives almost everyone an A. There were 3 take home essay exams.
I learned a LOT from Prof. Budani. While there is quite a bit of course work, she makes it easy by spreading it out and mixing it up over the semester. The actual class is not difficult, just stay on top of the work, a little bit every night will keep you ahead!
I was an honors student in a large class. If you really want to learn the books for the class are very interesting. She showed a movie in about 90% of the lectures all semester and she sometimes seemed incompetent and confused. Lots of assignments but just write that you learned something from them and she gives you 100%. Very eccentric prof.
Donna Budani is completely incompetent. Its impossible to hear anything she says, and she changes up the homework so much you never know what is due. She would probably do better in a retirement home than a classroom.
This class was certainly an experience. The subject matter is very interesting, and it is not difficult to pass, but Donna Budani is quite a character. If you don't mind incomprehensible emails, sakai assignments that don't make any sense, and lectures that have literally no bearing on the tested material then, sure, take peasant societies.
Her classes consist of a ton of reading and writing assignments, but she is very easy going. As long as you do the work and show that you've learned, you'll do well in her class. She is also very flexible and understanding if you need extra time. Highly recommended!
She is a really well intentioned woman who is really passionate about what she teaches. The tests aren't hard but you definitely have to read the book! She seems kind of out of it some of the time and gets a bit confused with questions, not a bad class to take to fill a breadth req tho
Prof. Budani made a very boring Anthro requirement amazing! Her class was enjoyable, even though she assigns readings and a critique for every class. Honestly, its not nearly as much work most classes. She's incredibly interesting and I fully plan to take more of her classes! Definitely take Budani!
Budani is interesting and sometimes incredibly unclear, but she is very enthusiastic about anthropology. She is very knowledgable and although you may be frusterated with her at first, once you understand how to interpret her teaching and instructions she's a good teacher. I'm taking her again. 3 easy exams and daily reading critiques.
GREAT professor! Lectures were very interesting and used class participation. Would recommend!
Don't let these Arts majors fool you, she is boring and dry and confuses herself often(she looks 80). Its an easy class with semi-mandatory attendance but is the longest 75 mins of hell you will sit through everyday. The material sucks to study for and learn in general. Easy grade and multi-cultural but it comes at a price.
While she certainly brings her interest and enthusiasm to lectures, it is often difficult to even understand what she is saying, let alone what point she's trying to make. Often when people ask questions she will give a nonsense answer and worst of all, she gets really annoyed when no one answers questions during class. Very boring.
Budani is a good teacher. She is very passionate what she teaches about. She is the best professor I've had who responds to emails very fast. Grading is very fair. All quizzes are online and there are three exams in class. Do the reading you will get a good grade in the class. Perfect for fulfilling a breadth requirement class, Highly suggest it.
She is a wonderful professor if you would like an easy A. She hands out assignments that she usually cancels, then she would confuse the heck out of ya and tries to say that she said everything once before and would not help you. If you're looking to learn d not find her, but if you're looking for an Easy A after BSing then get her!!!
This class is beyond easy. You watch movies most days and she occasionally lectures. I learned nothing from this class, BSed every single thing I handed in, and still got an A.
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! worst decision of my life. She gives so much work that is useless to what we're learning and then decides not to count them toward your grade so you did all that work for nothing, is unclear about assignments, and then when you email her questions, she gives nasty and disrespectful emails back. plus she's boring. dont take her.
Worst class I have taken at UD. This teacher gives so much work that is completely useless and irrelevant. For a 101 class, the workload is unbelievable. STRONGLY ADVISE TO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Budani is a very...."interesting" woman. The class can be very easy if you're good at BSing things but very hard b/c she assigns a LOT of unnecessary assignments. She does offer extensions on papers. A LOT of sakai submissions and youtube video watching. Overall, it can be a Easy A because the work is easy but time consuming.
If you take this class, be prepared to hate yourself. She is the absolute most incomprehensible prof at UD and bored me to tears. None of her hundreds of assignments have anything to do with the class, and half of them get cancelled with no warning. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. EVER. NOT EVEN FOR A BREADTH REQ. TAKE SOMETHING ELSE, I BEG YOU.
Professor Budani is why I became an anthropology major. She has amazing insight if you actually listen to her stories. She goes off on a lot of tangents but if you listen to them you'll learn a lot about Anthropology (even if it's not related to the reading).
