She is smart. She explains well. She is very straightforward. There are two exams only. I could learn a lot in this lab class.
She is one of the best teacher I know. Her test and quiz come straight from the hw (you dont even turn in hw). But she does have a quiz every week which is ok and the test are like the quizzes. She explains Chem so that you can understand
she is very helpful and funny! she will explain chemistry in way to make u understand. very good LAB teacher. i would highly suggest you to take her.
Excellent teacher, knows her stuff. Loves chemistry and it shows in her teaching. Quizzes in Chem 251 were hard but from homework (not collected). Exams extenstive but fair. Highly recommended teacher.
I REALLY WISH I HAD DR BUD FOR LECTURE. SHE XPLAINS EVERYTHING THAT MY LECTURE PROF CAN'T. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ONE OF MESA'S BEST SCIENCE PROFESSOR! TAKE HER FOR LECTURE & LAB IF POSSIBLE :)
Explains well, but can go a little fast. That was the only barrier in my understanding her explanations. Tests are based on homework, and notes which come in a packet you buy at the beginning of the semester. If you do the homework, you're ok.
Great class! Do the homework and your set. She was wonderful. Very clear and helpful. I learned a ton and feel ready for 201.
DR Bud is a wonderful person and is very helpful. She uses Powerpoint heavily which I don't like for CHEM. If you do ALL of your HW and read the notes you should be good. Quiz EVERY week, 3 Exams. Quizzes force you to study, and study you must. Not easy.
EASY!!
Professor budzinski has a quiz usually every week she give 3tests and 1 final lowest test grade dropped and only top 8 quizzes count. she is fairly easy to get along with
Good teacher. Smart, moves fast. Very helpful and very understanding. Great lab teacher.
For fist class in chem she takes it way to seriously. She lechtures for a hour or more before class and repeats what you already learned in class. She gives you quisses weekly and makes you get a las notebook to take notes and define vocabulary. She makes it hell.
Great teacher she makes you really want to learn. Feel very confident and ready for Chem 200.
The BEST chem prof. at Mesa by FAR! She is very helpful, will work out your questions with you, and is a fairly easy grader. You can get at least a B with out trying very hard. Lets you drop two quizzes and 1 lab. Take her if you can!
i felt like i was in kindegarten, if that is your thing, take this class.
She's the only Chem 251 teacher.Only 18 students max. Most in class have very high GPA.Great book but $130.Material scattered in book.Class is lecture and lab combined.Advanced level lab. Class is pretty hard (many asians in class).TAKE RIGHT AFTER CHEM 201! First month is chem 201 review. I got A.
dr donna budzynski is the best chem professor in SDCCD. in addition to clearly presenting the lecture, unlike other instructors, she has a fair plan for the course. there are quizes every week and three tests for the enitre course. if you are really interested in chem, you should take her class.
Great teacher. Very easy A.
What an excellent lab teacher, drops 1 lab, is EXTREMELY helpful, not too difficult, answers questions very clearly, loves to teach and is always interesting to talk to.
I wish I had her for lecture! She's approachable, easy to understand. Her class is not easy but she explains things clearly and is very patient with questions. She is great!!
EXCELLENT TEACHER, she is trully awesome, i had her for lab but i know her teaching style for lecture too. She is VERY helpful, extremely knowlegable and is interesting to talk to. In laB she is really chill expecially after the cut off date for drops, and lecture has regular quizs to prep for test.
I liked her. She can be abrupt but if you just take notes and pay attention, you'll get an A. Last test is open notes(Hint Hint)She answers any question you have and she isn't over your shoulder for every section of the lab. I would take her again.
I have had in my chem career here Professors Phelan,Fremland,Sadaine,Thiyarajah,Toto,Zand, Gergens, and Budzinski. All were great professors, but the nicest one I ever had was professor Budzinski. 65% in her class is a C for those of you interested in her grading style study if you want the A.
Great teacher! If you work hard you can get an A. 65% is a C. Nice lady helpful. Would def take her again!!
Analytical chem is ALLLLLL about lab work and all the technicality of instruments used in lab so if u like lab, yay for u!Study everything on the study guide and youll do good on the exam, there are no "trick" questions on it either. For those who hate labs, its ok Budz is there.I am the laziest bum ever n I pass w/ a B so that should tell u something
Dr. Bud ROCKS! Chem doesn't come easy to some. If this is you, take Dr. Bud. She explains chem in LAYMAN'S terms so we all can get a grip on chem. I can't wait to take her for Chem 200 and 200L!
To no fault of hers, I never managed to finish this class...but she tried to help me. An amazing woman and excellent teacher. Finally a woman teaching science - it makes lecture interesting! She's awesome and I can't wait to retake the class with her.
Great teacher. She was nice and helpful. This is a great class, but tough. I HIGHLY recommend that if you are rusty in your chemistry, as I was, take 170 first. I wish I would have. Much of the class builds off the skills learned in 170, which I didn't have, and it made the class extremely difficult for me.
I took Dr. Bud b/c she got a good rating on here, but I found her to be not such a good teacher. She uses power points & whips through them. She talks way too fast & it is impossible to keep up with her when she is writting on the board. She also gives too much info & tests on things that weren't discussed. I would never take her again!
This professor is great. Power point notes that she uses as a guideline in class are available on her web for smart students to print and take notes on. Easy. Shows great examples. Explains everything that she tests on and tells ahead what to expect. Has quizzes every weak on a set day to keep you going and to offset some tests points. Do homework!
she is an awesome teacher unfortunately for I had her for the lab not the Lecture I had Alexander for the Lecture and he sucks, I dropped the class too late ended up with an F
Took Dr.Bud due to good reviews on here..I disagree w/ most reviews. she was 2 fast in lecture, 2 scatterbrained during class, not enough specific focus on exam material, provided too much excess info not pertaining to subjects at hand. However, she was nice .3 tests, drops lowest 1, weekly quizzes. She was cool for lab though.
She is very smart and passionate about teaching but teaches tooo much in class. Seemed like she spoke three times more than other teachers.. It was hard to follow. And there are so much materials everywhere and there's not really solution explanation so you have to figure out on your own or go ask her.
Professor Budzynski is GREAT! She gives you a packet with all her notes which are easy to follow. She explains the material well. She does bring in a lot of therory to tests so watch out for that. Great Teacher! If you need extra help go to tut. center or her office! She drops lowest test and really knows the topic well..makes it fun!
Straight forward and crystal clear lectures. Exam material is straight out of lecture and notes packet. Easy grading scale. Take her.
Great teacher easy to understand straight forward and more than willing to explain things until you get it. Very fun in the lab very laid back take her.
Great teacher, Do the practice problems in lecture packet because some of them appear on the quizzes. Do the study guides to review for the tests. REALLY HELPS. Dont buy the textbook because its so useless... Study from the lecture packet.
awesome teacher. very clear about what she expects from you. teaches very well but she does go at a pretty fast pace.
She is a great teacher, tells you right up front what to expect in the class. Drops lowest quiz and test, unless you sign the honors contract. Is very helpful if you are having problems or just need to talk. Chemistry is not my best subject but she made it seem fun.
Tests are long so keep track of time. Hates cheating. Easy teacher, straight forward tell you what she expects you to know on test. makes corny jokes, Use lecture packet to study, textbook is useless, Likes to give partial credit alot. Mostly review stuff from chem 152.
She is terrible and should be avoided. She gives in class quizzes once a week that add up. She doesn't teach from the book so if you don't understand the material you have to find another way, like a tutor. Tells terrible jokes she laughs at. Hard and tricky test that are graded tough.
I love Dr. Bud! I had her for both Chem152 and Chem200. Everything you need to study for the tests are in her packet, and her old tests are online. Packet questions help a LOT (some are identical to quiz problems)! She's VERY helpful, especially in her office hours and during lab. She really wants you to succeed and is like a mother figure :)
in response to the person below me.We have 3 test (drop 1), 8 quizzes (drop 3) and a final. The grading scale is 90% up is an A. She is an EXCELLENT teacher she is very clear and understands the common confusion about chem 200 and points out common error students have. Attend her lecture, study and you will be fine. Plus, she gives out 2 E.C.
Good teacher!! If you took chem 152 and got it an A it will pretty much be a breeze. Definitely best Chem 200 teacher! Tests aren't too bad if you study and she drops a test and 3 quizzes.
She is a great professor, but my only complaint was the way she makes tests. For some of them you will run out of time and she knows that. If you're anything like me you like to go over your work or at least think it through so that all of the studying doesn't go to waste. I panic when I feel rushed. I had a 94% until the final. :(
She's a great teacher, she dropped one test and three quizzes which is very generous. she makes a lecture packet which is purchased at the bookstore and its helpful. her tests are kinda tough but if you work through all the homework and questions in the lecture packet you'll do fine. the final was 50 question, multiple choice, but not easy.
One of the best teachers at Mesa. Very clear expectation and lecture.
Chem is not my forté, but I really liked Dr. B! DO: the PQ's, HOMEWORK, and PRACTICE TESTS!! If she tells you to know it, know it. Eventhough you can drop/skip 3 quizzes and an exam, DON'T! I bombed a few quizzes and a test but still passed with a B from all my best scores, so don't get discouraged! You'll be fine. I wish she was teaching 201.
The class is arranged so you can make mistakes and still get an A, she cares more about you learning and educational experience than just the grade. U get 3 exams u get to drop one. you get a final, and 8 Quizes and she only counts the top 5 scores. always there so listen during office hours!
She is super helpful and easy going! Definitely take her if you need to take this class.
Beautiful person. Fantastic Professor. Dr. B's classes are well worth taking.
Sincerely cares about students. Extremely easy. Could have lectured at a higher level; the class felt like a repeat of 152. Otherwise useful and does explain concepts (and clearly). Gave great problem-solving advice for the ?not-a-math-person? types. Occasionally rambled and over-explained. Extremely approachable.
I had a very good experience with her. She's organized, she knows what she wants, and she's straight up a good teacher. She provides review sheets for each exam, and as a result her exams are relatively easy. You won't be disappointed.
AMAZING! So friendly and funny during lectures and lab. Very clear with what she expects. You have to buy her lecture packet with all her power points which is helpful. Don't need the book. She says doing the homework from the textbook is necessary, but I only do them when I am really having trouble. TAKE HER! AMAZING PROFESSOR!!
Great teacher, great lecturer, she does go kinda fast, but that is the nature of taking a chem course with so much info that needs to be learned. Her studyguide has all the info you need in more than one place and she has old tests posted on her website. I got a D on one test and B's on the rest but still managed an A. I wish she taught 201.
Really, there's a reason she was holding 3 of 5 classes offered for Chem 200 this semester, you won't find anyone as relate-able or as happily dedicated to there job of teaching.
Wow, awesome semester with her. I was a semester off chemistry but I fit right in with 200! She has her lecture all outlined in a notebook with Practice Questions. Also her black-board site has prior quizzes and tests which are very similar to the actual ones. Not to mention her study guides are very helpful. Study and you'll do well. Recommend
Donna's the best! She's super clear, I always went to her for questions on my lecture because she was soooo much better than my lecture teacher. Doesn't make you do useless trivial stuff thrown in the lab just as a time filler, doesn't want to waste your time or hers! Just do your prep work, check your sig figs, and you're good!
I'm very thankful for profs like Dr. Bud. She is very clear on her expectations and offers several learning resources to help with tests and quizzes. It baffles me how she is so articulate on such a complex subject while making the concepts understandable. If my future science teachers are half as dedicated and professional as she is, life is good.
Very clear and concise but watch out if you are a bit slow with solving math or chem problems.Even though I could do most of the work, I always ran out of time and so received poor scores. No wonder for my class, test average was a D!
The worst teacher that I've ever had!!!!she is so full of negative energy.she always mention that the average of class is D or lower C and she makes everyone stressed out. seriously?? dont you think that maybe there is something wrong with your method of teaching or grading??!!!AVOID her class
Do homework and go to her office hours if you have any questions and you will do great in the class. Best teacher I have ever had.
She just talks at the board the whole lecture. She speeds through material and doesn't give students a chance to ask in depth questions. Constantly misses her office hours. Purposely writes tests that take longer than the allotted test time to complete, then complains when the class average is low. STAY AWAY
Her class is a power-point show. Little to NO examples of how to solve the problems that she tests. teaching method is not very personable nor does it seem that she even cares if her classes are understanding the material as long a she gets through it all. Does not build skills instead teaches new ways which will confuse you comes test time. Avoid.
She is definately not a good teacher for 200. Her tests are really long, not enough time to finish usually. She provides a study guide for the exams and then makes the test way harder than study guide. I recieved an A in chem 152, I am pulling C now. Beware!
Took this teacher because not only did she seem like a nice person when I first met her, but her reviews on here weren't bad. I was 100% mistaken. I have never studied so hard for a class in my life to only fail. Her tests are ridiculously long and unlike examples she provides in class. Average on an exams usually in the 60s% AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
The exams are not allotted enough time, and the grading is very harsh. Most students get C or less for grade. Even when the student studies 2 hours each day, and does the homework, it is not enough to pass her tests with a B or an A. Very hard teacher. If you worry about getting good grades, take another professor.
Skips around way too much. The order in which the material is taught makes it nearly incomprehensible. Lecture does not follow with lab. Have had my hand raised for a good ten minutes to never have been called on, let alone have her glance in my direction. Tests are way too hard and easy to miss multiple choice are worth more then actual test.
I stopped wearing my seat belt on the way to class because I wanted to die before getting there. By far the worst teacher ever. Covers material WAY too quick, and makes constant remarks making people feel stupid for asking questions. Even doing the 2hrs study time per day she suggests and doing the hw is not enough if you want to pass. BEWARE!!
She is a wonderful and kind professor who is always there for her students! Her knowledge of Chemistry in different areas is amazing! A brilliant woman who is very patient! I will miss her! Oh and this picture needs to be updated because she is this little cute petite lady with the cutest hair! You rock, Dr. Bud!!!
I had for for lecture and lab. She is always up beat and has a good sense humor. She wants you to learn, and makes sure you do. She is awesome during office hours and sometimes gives out skittles if your titration is a "perfect pink". And who doesn't like skittles. She sends opportunities your way via email for experience to. This woman CARES.
She is my dream professor. She made the class very fun. She is easy to follow, reasonable test, easy if you have prior knowledge of chem. I wish I could have her again for 200.
Just finished up the semester, missed an A. This class is not for slackers, requires a lot of work. If you are going to be in the chemistry field then take her and be prepared to work for a good grade. She a very nice person and will help you if she can. THIS IS NOT AN EASY CLASS. These Dodo's that say bad things about her are pathetic! Thanks Bud!
LOVE her! she is one of the best professors I ever had. I will miss her so much. <3 If you are a good student, absolutely recommended.
Fantastic professor. Takes best 2 of 3 exams, 5 of 7 quizzes. Homework is not collected or graded, just for your benefit. No attendance, but no make-ups of missed quizzes/exams. I highly recommend her, and will be taking her again next semester.
Great Teacher, very personable and helpful. encourages staying in lab to do calculations so she can be of assistacne if the students needs. Lecture is good too. Fun and this makes the process easier. Way Cool Ms. Bud!!
well for chem 200, the class is not easy, but its not as hard as what she say in the first day of class. she like to say that this class is really hard and try to convince you to drop it if you dont wanna work hard, but trust me the class is not that hard, i mean you do have to study alot and memorize stuff. if you do your work you should bealright
I ended up liking her. She's very clear on explaining for the lab. Be careful w/ little things like sig fig and stuff because she's a hard grader and very strict about those. No tests/exams and the lowest lab is dropped so if you did well thru the semester, you don't have to do the last lab.
She was Awesome! I loved her style of teaching. She used power points so you didn't waste time writing notes, instead PAY ATTENTION to her lecture and follow along! Do the example problems she gives and do the practice exams. Yes test questions are harder than those in practice but HELLO it's an exam! Understand the concepts and you'll do fine!
It was an interesting semester with her. She uses power points but explains them in enough detail that it doesn't seem like just a bunch of slides one after another. Office hours are available and she is very helpful on trying to assist you to understand whatever it is you need help on. Homework isn't graded but it will hurt quiz/exams if not done.
Her Chem Lab class was good. No pop quizzes or exams, actually, there weren't any tests at all. Gives real good instructions and clarifications prior to the experiment. Available during office hours for any help or questions about the experiments. The use of a lab notebook was new to me but she have good guidance in how things should be done.
Donna gives great lectures on power pt. She is very thorough but sometimes she gets a little excited (maybe it's the coffee) and teaches really fast. She is always happy to help students on her office hours. Make sure to do the hw and packet questions because it will really help you a lot with passing her exams. She doesn't grade the hw
Great chem professor. I have failed 200 before because of crappy professors but bud is very clear on what she wants you to learn, she has printed out all her notes and practice questions into a booklet. Just do all the homework and you will be good to go. She's also very helpful in office hours. She actually cares about students.
Great professor, very willing to help you fully understand any concepts, and even went out of her way to help me in 200L. She does provide extra credit, and her quizzes and tests mimic reviews and old exams provided on website. Do the reviews that she sends out! If you pay attention in lec you don't need the book. Very clear and concise teacher!
Took her again for 201 because of the amazing experience I had with her from 200/200L. An absolutely awesome professor. Her office hours are extremely helpful because she will help you with any homework questions or clarify/elaborate on any topic you need help with. Would've taken her for the lab part too, but unfortunately, she doesn't do 201L.
Honesty, I like chemistry. I took her for a lab not lecture. She speaks way too much and tries to lecture the class.. Goes for an hour on explaining basic instructions and more on when she goes on her weird tangents. She was my last choice. I wouldn't take her for lab again. I didn't learn much. She's kind of intimidating to non teacher pets.
She's smart, and she's fast, but she makes it clear that your success doesn't matter. Her lecture packet and resources are dated back to 2009 and it's hard to prepare adequately for tests or quizzes because there's no structure to her exam review process. The book is dense, and she will walk away indifferent to you, despite how hard you work.
This is a class that if you don't attend and don't study hard you'll have a hard time. I started the class with that mindset and quickly learned I needed to turn myself around and got an A. She drops one test and a couple of quizzes which for me were the first ones. So as long as you're not lazy you'll pass easily.
She speaks very quickly so make sure to follow her with your notes in class and talk to her during office hours if you do not understand. Her tests are insanely difficult because the questions she teaches you in class are reversed on the test to solve differently. Study up for quizzes and do well on tests. She takes top 5 quizzes and top 2 tests
I took Dr Bud for both semesters of G-Chem and 200L and she was fantastic. I got an A in all 3 classes, but it wasn't easy. If you make an effort and go to office hours when you have a question (not just right before the test), she is a great help. I have transferred to university, and I can say that Dr. Bud's class prepared me for o-chem.
Good professor. But be prepared to have Chemistry take up most of your time. I had to drop a class to focus more on the lab and lecture. Very tough but chemistry is tough anyway.
Professor Bud is amazing. I took her for 200 and am currently taking her for 201. She is much more prepared for her 200 lectures but she is amazing in 201 as well. Budzynski knows her stuff and provides real life examples that really help to fully grasp the concepts. She provides study guides that are a lot harder than the actual exams.
Great teacher. This was a really good class. Take her!
Personally best chem teacher I have had yet she explains the subject so well and if you listen you will understand. A lot of students try to ask questions but she explains it in great detail just be a good listener! She is an amazing person has adopted children loves teaching it seems like she enjoys watching students succeed and understand! :)
Very leaniant with partial credit , she drops two quizzes and one exam. Final is very easy, takes major concepts only. Class is very boring at least for me. She tries to break it down for you in lecture but I found it easier to just read the textbook. I didn't pay much attention during lectures but reading the text gave me a B.
Extremely clear, helpful, and thorough. Shows lots of examples, assigns lots of HW, and gives really useful lecture. Notes are part of the course pack too, so that makes lectures even better bc students don't have to worry about writing notes quickly and missing out on what's being said. Answers questions. Provides plenty of feedback via quizzes.
The class was hard. Test were kind of hard.
She was great! I really wish she would teach organic chem though :( She makes the material really clear and concise. She may go too fast sometimes only because she drinks a lot of coffee but she's very nice and happy to help. Her tests weren't hard.
Great teacher. Very clear about what you will be tested on. Follow the packet she gives you, do the homework, and check out her website that has past quizzes and tests. Very similar types of problems. She's awesome.
We aren't done with the semester yet, but I just felt like dropping a review for Dr. B. Professor Budzynski is very clear as to her expectations and what you need to study. For the exams she gives study guides and it's in your interest to do them. For lab, your best bet is to be well prepared to do the lab. Very helpful during office hours.
Dr B is probably the best chem professor I have ever had. Very clear lectures for 201. Acid base is hard. You must buy that lecture packet. Practice and practice and you will be fine. Remember "A students get A's."
Dr. Budzynski is very fair. Offers many chances to gain points, make up, and makes getting an A doable. Exams are tough as to be expected in a chemistry class. Sometimes too easy with late assignments, so don't shoot yourself in the foot like I did. Would definitely recommend.
Chem 201 is an extremely difficult class that moves very fast and covers very difficult material. However, she keeps her lectures interesting, does lots of practice problems, and has an awesome sense of humor. Her tests are extremely difficult. Don't only practice the material, practice doing it fast! I ran out of time on a test and the final
Dr. Bud is a one of a kind professor, who is wise as she is smart. Her lectures are one hell of a ride, that if you ask the right questions, will bring you to a higher place of understanding.
She teaches really fast, so you have to keep up with the material and practice at home. The homework is not collected, so its up to you whether you want to pass by doing them. One test is dropped not including the final. Quizzes every other week two dropped (easy if you study). Labs are easy she really explains every aspect so theres no confusion.
Excellent teacher if you want to learn Chemistry. She does teach fast, but she gives out all the information you will be tested on very thoroughly. One test and two quizzes are dropped. Anyone could pass this class if they just study and practice the material she assigns
Please take her classes if you have chance. She is the most helpful chemistry professor at San Diego Mesa college. Her explanation is so clear. There are three exams and final(MCs). If you do homework and problem sets that she provides, you will get an A for all exams and learn alot.
This professor is amazing. She is organized, and an experienced professor. She will test you on homework and on the material she goes over in class. Take her if you can!!! I only wish we had more time to take the exams, but overall she is one of the best profs at Mesa. Take her!!!!
She squeezes in last-minute subjects that she'll put on tests. doesn't give enough time for her HEAVY tests & expects u to know stuff you can only get from the textbook, which isn't assigned. Grade is based only on your tests/quizzes so if you can't depend on this then don't take it. Willing to help you but it's pointless, test will throw you off
7 quizzes, 2 dropped, 3 tests (1 dropped), 1 cumulative final, and 12 points extra credit. Your grade solely depends on quizzes and tests. Class is not easy, the concepts are not easy, the tests are not easy. If you plan on taking this course make sure to work three times as much as you would for other classes. Not an easy A.
Dr. Bud is probably one of the best chemistry professors I've ever had. Her lectures are interesting and full of crucial information. My advice: Do all the packet problems after lecture, do all the optional assigned textbook homework problems, and do all the problems on the study guides.
only graded by Exams and HomeWorks. Her Exams are very difficult and HW doesn't actual help with overall grade. definitely won't recommend her..
Professor Bud is a great person, she is very smart but not a good teacher. She makes the class way harder than it needs to be and the exams were averagely graded at around 70/71. If you take her I would highly reccomeed doing ALL the homework or else you can't get a good grade.
I loved professor Bud! Chem 200 is not an easy course. But if you put in the time and go out of your way to go to office hours, she loves to help her students. You have to do the homework to practice the problems or else you will fail the tests. I did all the homework and went to her office hours often and received an A.
Hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. Most people complain that her class is too difficult. This is true because her exams are composed of only the most difficult questions but is not my complaint. Biggest issue is she grades correct answers as wrong. This happened on multiple occasions until I withdrew. Never regrades, also very rude.
She gives you all the information you need to do well on her tests. This is a hard subject, and her tests reflect that. However, they are also straightforward with no tricky wording hoping to trip you up. Her videos are concise, her command of the subject is obvious, and she is good enough with technology to prevent headaches on the student's end.
You can tell she's been teaching a long time and is just lazy. No problem passing but you don't learn much.
Great Professor and classes are suuuper easy!
Canvas website is unorganized and messy, doesnt teach at all and expects students to learn the stuff themselves. This class is a joke. Do not take her
Great instructor! DO THE PACKET PROBLEMS to prepare for quizzes. Do the homework for brain exercise. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS. To prepare for exams study PACKET PROBLEMS, QUIZZES, and PRACTICE TEST. Content is difficult. If you need help go to office hours or get a tutor. The videos are VERY HELPFUL to review before lecture. No tricky stuff on tests!
The complaints on here about Dr. B being difficult are ridiculous. She makes herself available - I went to office hours weekly - and she bases the tests on the homework and study guides. You have to do the homework to understand the concepts! She also drops some low grades! I got 101% in the course by being diligent. Welcome to college, kids.
Gives you lecture packets to go along with lectures. 13 quizzes, 3 worst dropped + 3 exams, don't have to take the final if you take all 3 exams and like your grade. Clearly likes and understands what she's teaching. Good vibe + interactive. Go over the notes + practice questions before each quiz/test + make sure you know the stuff, you'll be fine.
Printed out lecture packets that are helpful to follow and writes notes on it. Attendance isnt mandatory and she uploads videos on canvas. She teaches well and organized, gives lots of optional practice problems and study guides. You can tell she wants the students to really understand the material and will go over any questions you have. LOVED HER
BOMB! Love Dr. B, she explains chemistry like she loves it, her analogies are spot on, and the best part, she gives so many resources for exam prep. Between a packet, an exam review worksheet, and assigned text-book problems, she sets you up for success in a tricky subject. She occasionally offered 3-5pts of extra cred if you attended a workshop!
Dr. Budzynski prints out lecture packets for each section we cover, therefore notetaking was not necessary. There were 4 exams (lowest score dropped) and 13 quizzes (lowest 3 dropped). She provides many practice problems that reflect the exam questions. Beware of some short answer questions on exams explaining theories and conceptual topics.
TAKE HER! The lowest exam is dropped if you take the final. The final is optional if you're happy with your grade. Most of the quizzes were take-home, and she dropped a few. She provides so many resources to do well and is super accessible. She shows you why chemistry is important by providing real-life examples. I learned so much from her.
SO GENUINE! Really cares about students passing, is available and encourages questions all the time. She takes her time explaining topics and gives plenty of practice for students to do in lecture or on your own time. Homework is optional! One quiz every week but she drops the three lowest, five exams but she drops the lowest grade. Take her class!
This class is very organized and structured, so you always know what you will be doing and what you will need for the following week. She is not a difficult grader and always wants her students to understand. She explains the lab in great detail right before you get started, and you often finish labs early and get to go home.
hard prof, quizzes, exams and a lot of homework
If you are seeing this, I genuinely want you to know you are one of the best passionate and genuine professors I have ever come across. It obviously was not an easy class and to get an A there definitely needs real good effort and if the student attends her lectures regularly and goes to her office hours she is very helpful and understanding.
Professor B is kind and easy to reach out to if you want to go over anything outside of class. She uses multiple analogies that make sense, so you are able to get it. I love her teaching style and how she stressed the importance of practicing and owning it on your own. Semi-tough grader, lots of partial credit. Put effort in and you'll get an A!
She was a good professor but not that great for people who struggle with chemistry like me. She moves very quickly and right now I'm retaking the class with a different professor and so far it's a lot better. Her lectures can get very boring and she doesn't give a lot of example problems. There's no homework and she doesn't supply practice problems
For lab reports, I followed her tips in the syllabus and got A's on all of them except one. She really guides you well through calculations and is always open to questions. I respect her work ethic, she grades at a good pace, and I find her grading criteria logical/straightforward. Listen to her instructions and feedback, and you'll do well.
