Very good teacher. Spent a lot of time with students who did not understand the material and also had a very structred class. She knew what she was doing. Also, pretty attractive for already having a kid :-)

She's awesome, though it tends to be boring sometimes. She gives a lot of extra credit, too.
She was a great teacher and helped those who did not under stand the material. Also, go to the team center when you need help.

Teachers like her are the reason I hate math teachers!!! She is kind of HOT though!!!
She was pretty hot, but that was about a year ago

if you attend every class and do your homeworks, this is an easy class. she is very detailed, helpful, considerate, systematic, and kind of predictable. she is also funny. this class is swell.

Easy!!!! But I love Math.....
Go to class and understand your readings and you should atleast get a B. A great intro to Business and she knows what she's talking about.
super hot...wish i could take her out!! she is a very good teacher and was always willing to help me out. I suck at math but she made it interesting and easy to learn.super hot.
TRRUST ME! AT FIRST I THOUGHT SHE SUCKED BECAUSE I WAS NEW HERE AND SHE GAVE HOMEWORK WITHOUT EXPLAINING IT. I WAS MAKING D'S AND F'S. AFTER SHE HELPED ME ON THE TAKE HOME TEST, I RESPECTED HER BECAUSE SHE HELPED ME GET AN A. AFTER THAT I STARTED DOING BETTER. SHE IS THE EASIEST MGMT 171 TEACHER.
GOOD TEACHER
great teacher! very helpful and relates class topics to real life stuff.. which most math teachers don't do! i loved her!
The class was really easy so I didn't go that often. But she is a really good teacher. She explains everything over and over again if people need her too. And she always helps people after class. She also wants everyone to get a good grade.
Very Good Teacher, Go to class and you should get a good grade. She is funny and she knows what she is talkinb about
overall cool but terrible at teaching
She knows what she is talking. Her tests are kind of hard but grading is fairly easy. Go to every class and take notes. She is really really fast and very unorganised you basically get notes from powerpoint slides inorder take notes frm that slides you need to be a very fast writer am not kidding. B
Donna Byrd is probably one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She cares about the students and tries to make sure everyone does well in the class. Just go, and listen to what she has to say, and you will do very well
Good teacher. Very helpful. Easy to understand. I wish she teaches 212 also. Keep up with the homework and study her study-guides. Who the hell rated her hot? SMACK!
treats you like a 2nd grader
She is easy. I enjoyed her class, read the book and you are gonna get an A, she does try to make something simple hard. I got an A, and she grades very fairly, w/ curves and she really cares about ur grades.
If you are weak in math you have to take this class. If you are good in math (math 151+) you will be bored out your mind, as was I. She makes it possible for everyone to get an A if you put forth the work.
very fun class... take notes and listen and you shall get good grades. mrs byrd is very nice and doesnt mind one on one.
Great teacher!
I ended up getting a C (so close to a B) if you go to class and listen to her you never have to do your homework, she doesn't check. I slept in class and never did****, so it's pretty easy, cheat on computer projects, don't worry about buying the microsoft excel book, you only need it twice
Grades too tight on tests. Blah she's horrible. If you like being babied and talked to like a retard because you have no confidence in math, then this class if for you. Excel projects are tedious and lower your grade. No other teacher makes you do them... Is this college or elementary school ?
Great Teacher. She seems to really care about her students. She actually tells you what will be on the tests. So on test day there are no surprises. Shes doesn't try to trick you. Very straight forward. If anyone fails or gets less than an A or B. Its your fault.. Take her hands down for MGMT 171.
I had miss bryd for both mgmt 121 and 171 and she is just awsome.. Very very helpful and cares about each and very student, explains really well.. I would suggest everyone to take miss byrd if they want to pass mgmt 212 with slith willis. Trust me this pre-calculass helpss alott when it comess to actual calculass (mgmt212) class. So takee herrr!!
this teacher sucks. Nothing made sense, I dropped the class.
I love Ms. Byrd. If she taught calculus, I might have passed.
sometimes i have fantasies about her easy class.

Ms. Bryd is the greatest!!! She is the funniest person I have ever met. Go to class, do your homework, its pretty straight forward. She certainly does not try to fool you. One of VCU's best teachers.
She is the best math teacher I've ever had. She's so enthusiastic and caring, and I am actually retaining all the information she taught me. I whole heartedly recommend Mrs. Byrd!
Great Professor!! Highly reccomended!! Difficult if you never attend class, but easy if you do (very serious with this comment- get to class, folks)!!! Gives hints in class for assignments. High expectations and expects regular attendance!! Fun class, if you attend!! Breaks things down so that they are so much easier to understand.Very Helpful!!
Very Helpful and caring about her students!! Gave me a renewed confidence about my mathematical ability!! Highly recommend!!Great Professor to have before taking MGMT 212.Just come to class and pay attention and you will do fine, those who don't, what can I say!!Fun and interesting class, lots of work(not busy work), but one you won't want to miss.
Knows her stuff. She goes out of her way to give you gobs of extra credit, take every chance you get. The finance exam is consistently the hardest so you will need the padding. Uses different teaching styles: straight book lecture, student presentations, lectures with content not in the book. Lively for an 8AM class, shouldn't put people to sleep.
Shes like your best friend's mother. She tries to give u advice on things that your too mature to care about. She is very pertentious, enjoys making things difficult. Stresses attendance and is very unhelpful if u miss a class. Overall, its an easy A but shes a headache.
tells you EXACTLY whats gonna be on each test, and the final..Great teacher, and she helps u s much as possible, jus go by her office
ATTEND LECTURE-8AM class sucked but you need to go if you want to do well. For an intro course, tests were fairly challenging so make sure you study well. She is one of those teachers who has multiple "correct" answers to the questions on her test but one is the "most correct" and also is the only one she will accept so you need to know your sh*t.
one of the best teacher at VCU. Go over the material before the test, tell you exactly what to study on exams. Everything is from the book. Her math explaination is extremely clear. You'll be able to get an A if you put some effort in her class and she's VERY helpful. a little bit of homework but it's fine...
VERY GOOD TEACHER!!! Very clear and to the point. Doesn't just stand in front of class and lecture. If you attend, she will practically tell what is on the test. Always gives partial credit. Highly recommended.
She is the bomb. shes funny and a great teacher. I learned alot from her.
I love Professor Byrd, I just wish she also taught 212!
She is a great professor. She knows what she is tlaking about and is very helpful. I ended with a C in that class, but it was my fault, I should've ended with an A or a B. You need to go to class though, she gives you great notes. She does not collect homework or take role, but if all that is done, the tests should be piece of cake. She is RECOMMEND
I caint wait to take her for 171
she's very nice and helpful... go to class.. u'll get a lot of benefits... tests are not that tricky. .she'll tell u exactly what she has on the test...she only give big points if u show the process of doing the problem.. comp. projects were not that hard... dun hesitate to ask her questions on it.. she's good.. get her if u can..
Lovely, lovely lady!! Very helpful, somehow makes it personal even in a large class. Loves it when people go to class but hates it when people walk out in the middle... Explains things reaaally well and does not give much hw. Projects are a handful but NO FINAL (optional!!!) Makes jokes and always lets us out early. Ask for help if you need it.
-Has homework to help you understand (not a lot and not graded)-Very willing to help outside of class and recommended to go to her office often to get to know her and ask for help.-Computer projects (4) count as a test grade.-Offers extra Credit-Makes course enjoyable.-Optional Final....Take her.
She is an awsome professor. I loved her. I wish she teach more mgmt courses at VCU.. we need a good prof. for MGMT 212. do the HW,take good notes, listen to her carefully, and follow everything she tell u to get an easy A in this class. she is like a mother.. she really take good care of her students... Good luck!!!
very good prof, she helps alot and explan every thing. just go to class and do the HW. it is esey A.
Byrd is awesome !! Just go to class take notes and you'll pass.
It's an okay class, she tells you exactly what's going to be on the test.
she was a great teacher!! very nice and maternal which makes you feel really comfortable in her class! homework isn't graded but it helps to understand the material. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
she is the worst teacher ever period!!!!!!
SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD!
she is a great teacher...i loved her..helped me understand and basically tells u whats going to b on the test..attend class for the bonus points
Mrs. Byrd is a pretty good teacher. She is REALLY into class participation. She gives extra points sometimes. Gets really irritated when you don't do hw, but she doesn't check it. She tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. Pay attention and do hw and you will get a good grade!!
She is the best math teacher I've ever had in my life!! She likes for everyone to participate. She makes everything really simple and practically tells you what is going to be on the test. She also gives extra credit for attending class.
Great Teacher, Explains everything that will be on test, and Tells you exactly what type of problems will be on test, and how many of each and how much they will be worth. If you come to every class, you get +5 bonus points on test, really good job on explaining how to do problems. Attend class, and attempt to do part of HW if not all & your good
Probally the best managment teacher to get. She might seem to yell sometimes but its only because she wants to help! Always listen because she sometimes gives identical test questions. Attend class and get five bonus points to her test. The best thing is that she is always willing to help!!
If you hate math like I do this is the class for you! She makes math so simple and easy to understand, a truly talented person. She is by far the best teacher I have had at VCU. I failed this class the first time around and got an A with Professor Byrd. However, you must be present to reap the benefits. :)
Mrs. Byrd is amazing. Final is not mandatory, there are 3 tests; she tells you the day before EXACTLY what's going to be on them. There are 4 excel projects; again, explains what she wants before it's due; if you come to every class you get 5 pts to every test. She's a funny funny lady and makes you feel like one of her own kids. The class is total win.
Greatest math teacher ever!! i seriously recommend taking her class
I love her!!!!!!! Best professor I have ever had, period. Very Helpful, makes math fun. Doesn't put anything on the test that isn't covered in class. If you go to class and do the homework, there shouldn't be any problem getting a good grade
She was wonderful! I went to class hating math and she changed my opinion about math completely, I like it! The more you attend class, the more extra credit points you get as well as participation. Homework needs to be completed daily because she may take it. Tests are fairly hard, but she returns them to study for the final exam. Great professo
Best math teacher I have ever had! I hate math, but she changed my opinion because she breaks everything down so that it makes sense and sticks in your head. She is very helpful in office hours, reasonable and gives plenty opportunities to allow you to get a good grade. Attend class and do the homework regularly and you'll pass.
Best Math Teacher Ever. Take HER
As far as MGMT 171, she is the only prof you should consider taking. You HAVE TO go to every single class in order to take advantage of her extra credit points and her lectures. She makes math so so easy. If you fall behind, you WILL be behind. Her class is a steady pace, and when you're onboard, the class is a BREEZE. Love her.
I had Mrs. Bryd last semester for 171 and she is wonderful! You have to go to class, or you will miss alot. I had failed her first test (I got a 45 on it!), but since I went to class every day, did my homework & projects on time, and made a 75, 85 on the last test, I was able to exempt out of the final and ended up with an A in the class.
shes tight and her test are easy if you do the homework and stay on top of whats going on.
Best math teacher ever, she explained everything so well and is willing to help you if you need it!
She is somewhat helpful but when it comes to the computer projects you have to pretty much figure things out on your own. Other than that you have attend every class or you will miss out.
she is a really good teacher,You have to go to class, or you will miss alot
iF U R GOOD STUENT AND ATTEND CLASS & do ur homework !then, u will just relax in this class !she s so helpful, interesting & cool !!!! :) This is my fav class in this semester !!!
She is the best teacher I have ever had. She goes out of her way to make sure you understand the material. Just go to every class, do your homework, and ask questions and you can make an A. I highly reccommend professor byrd.
One of the best teachers i've had so far at vcu. One of the only professors who can make math understandable. She is very clear about what is going to be on tests but can be slightly nit-picky when grading. She will do whatever it takes to help you. Just come to class and you will get a good grade because you actually learned something.
She is extremely helpful and if you do your computer projects early, she allows you to bring them in for her to look them over and get feedback before you turn it in for a grade. Lots of homework, but it's pretty helpful.
Mrs. Byrd is a good teaher an cares about the students understanding of concepts. She will help one on one and give you a good push in the right direction. Most assignments are a not hard but a bit challenging if its the first time in a while with the concepts.I hadn't take algebra in several years and was still able to squeeze out a B minus.
YOU MUST ATTEND CLASS AND BE THERE ON TIME! She is such a great professor. Interact with the class, do your homework and listen to her, and their will be no surprises. The first couple weeks of class were almost impossible, don't let that intimidate you. It becomes slower paced so stick with it. She's great! If you try hard she will to.
LOVE HER! She made pre-cal soooo easy. I took it in high school and really struggled but she broke everything down and made it so simple. I STRONGLY recommend her! Easy A for me.
Words do not do her justice when it comes to how great of a teacher she is ,before having her as a math teacher I hated everything about math and upon completing her mgmt 171 course I have a new found confidence in my math abilities. She is clear concise and is more than helpful if your willing to work. She single handily taught me to love math.
This class was strange. She's nice, helpful, if you attend class you will get at least a B, etc. But there was something really awkwardly condescending about her class. She treats her students like they're about 6 years old. It doesn't really bother anyone but it makes the class kind of uncomfortable sometimes. I would still recommend taking her.
She is awesome! I went into the class thinking i was going to fail but she teaches you that math is all about confidence. I suck at math and did great in this class. The computer projects are a little tough but do them early so she can tell you whats wrong with them. If you arent that great in math and are nervous TAKE HER. SHES THE BEST
For someone that was terrified to take this course, she made this class a breeze. The homework is not difficult and she goes over everything in class. Just show up on time and actually go to class, it matters towards your grade! She's extremely helpful, don't be afraid to ask questions.
Easy class, and she is very helpful. She does make it feel like an elementary school at times the way she speaks to students. So long as you do the work and get her help you will get an A.
Very helpful teacher. She clearly wants to help you to be sucessful
MUST go to class. There are many projects and online HW you must stay on top of. If you can do well on these then you will pass, if you do poor you're done for. She makes sure that everyone participates and comes to the board. Stern, sometimes mean, but it works for her.
Professor Byrd totally changed my mindset about math. I went in nervous, and came out confident and knowledgable.. I actually know the stuff now. She's only mean to students if they come to class unprepared. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you want to go to stay on top of computer projects and homework. Great class!
Absolute Best! My favorite professor, made the transition to college so easy.
awful experience
With new material she will often start with and spend the majority of her lecture showing you the incorrect way of executing a problem, then belittle any student that gets lost - very condescending and pompous. Disclaimer: Don't take this class if you have PTSD as she will abruptly bang on the board and desk while spastically fluctuating her voice.
Byrd is a great teacher. She is very straightforward and explains things perfectly. Great Lady
Decent teacher but she can get mad easy. Not a bad class just make sure you go to all of the classes
GREAT professor with a fashion sense. If you come to class, pay attention and are engaged you its an A. She is animated, fun, and very personable. Make sure to do your HW. She literally walks you through everything and lets you know what will be on the test. Rule of thumb; if it's written on the board, repeatedly, it's important! take advantage.
She's hot for an old lady! Class is mandatory, there are projects and assignments BUT she is by far the easiest professors at VCU. She teaches you like you're in high school. It's amazing, she cares. You will get called on if your class is small though.
She really breaks down the math so it isn't intimidating at all! Come to class and do your homework! I changed my major after taking her class, but everything I learned in her class was useful, practical and things I'll continue to use. One of the best classes I've taken at VCU. She also has excellent taste in clothes.
I didn't enjoy her class. Her tone is very arrogant, condescending. She thinks she's teaching a high school class not a lecture with 150 students. No talking, no texting, hw every night. She loves to pick on students and goes out of her way to embarrass them. Verbally emotional. Brash. Sitting in her lecture is like going through a hurricane.
Thinks to highly of herself and often talks about how students always try to do the wrong thing instead of right. She acts like a 2 year old and sometimes doesn't know what she is teaching.
GREAT AT TEACHER. Sit in the front, participate, ask questions. She explains everything clearly. MUST attend class or you will be lost. Overall, it's an easy course. She tells us what type of problems are on the test and how many points each is worth. BEST professor at VCU. Hands down. I think she made me love math again. lol.
Mrs. Byrd is always there to help you if you show you need help. Pay attention and come to class. Sit in the front. I am known to be terrible at math. Failed the first test and aced the second. She said that I can still end up with a B. Take her!!!!!!
She can be like a high school teacher sometimes which is annoying but she's very helpful and she wants students to get good grades so she cares, she just doesn't like students who don't try hard enough. Learn from computer projects, it can benefit you in the future.
Great teacher! Very thorough and systematic in her approach to teaching. I am not a great math student and I did very well in her class (mgmt171). Do the hw and come to every class. Tests are not very hard. I found the biggest challenges to be the computer projects which is the only thing she does not explain too well. Take her!!!
Mrs. Byrd teaches beyond the book. She not only does a great job of explaining the course material, she also gives great business and professional advice. She incorporates manners, professionalism, and networking skills into the classroom, which earns her a lot of respect.
Mrs. Byrd is great. As long as you go to class and do your homework you'll get an A. She pretty much does the computer projects for you in class and she pretty much goes over what's on tests in class.
Best professor I have had. Very helpful and wants you to understand all of the material not just memorize equations. Wish she taught Calc
Professor Byrd is probably the best math professor at VCU, I hated math but after taking her class, I think I actually kinda like math. We need more people like her in this school.
The best math instructor I have ever had. Mrs. Byrd is so helpful and is a great teacher. I wish she taught more classes!
When I took this class Mrs. Byrd would randomly call on students and take roll everyday. I ended up dropping it because it was her way or the highway. She actually said that, because you would have to do her small projects and assignments exactly by her methods. Wouldn't recommend this class if you don't have the time to study or kiss up to her.
She seems intimadating at first, but she's pretty cool. Very helpful, if you struggle with math take her!! She wants you to pass and do well. Willing to help you if your struggling..
One of the best math teachers I have had in all of my years of schooling. She will make you work for your grade, but is willing to help. The first professor I have witnessed to know people by name which I thought was awesome - she cares about her students, wants them to do well, etc. Follow all directions for computer projects - saved my grade
Very good professor, very clear about what she expects from students and is always be there to help (if needed) I would highly recommend her to anyone taking 171
It is literally so easy to get an A in this course. She really wants students to succeed and she lets you know what exactly is going to be on the tests and most of it comes from the homework. DO THE HOMEWORK and you will have no problem!
Mrs. Byrd is awesome. Attendance is absolutely mandatory, but she's a cool person so her lectures aren't boring. Tests are easy if you go to class and do homework, she tells you exactly whats on the test too. Do you're homework though, it's make a difference on your grade. Also no extra credit but if you pay attention you won't need it.
She's awesome. Mandatory attendance and a good amount of homework but you should expect that coming from a math based class. If you do what she says you should easily get an A or B. You will never be surprised by what is on her tests if you pay attention and do your work and that makes them very straight forward. I highly recommend her!
Best professor ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish she would teach other classes. She will help you if you ask for it and her door is always open. She will guide you in the right direction. She makes math fun and easy.
Amazing professor! She is super helpful and is very clear about what she wants from students. As long as you attend class and do the homework, she will enjoy your presence and will be more likely to help you. If you don't, you will potentially do poorly in the class.
Professor Byrd was honestly the BEST professor I have encountered at VCU thus far. She assigns hw (and checks for completion) but it is really to your benefit. She is so helpful and will walk the class thru the computer projects. Her teaching style was clear cut & easy to understand. Would definitely take her again!
Donna Byrd is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. I had her for SCMA 171 my first semester here at VCU and she is so helpful, she really wants to see her students succeed. She always finds a way to relate her lessons back to real life and business. Just go to class, pay attention, and be active in her lectures and homework to get an A.
She made math the easiest subject I have ever learn. She does a great job with making you understand what's actually going on. You can't fail with her. Take her!He
She's an awesome professor! I did not have a strong math background, but she really helps you learn the material. She assigns a lot of homework, but it's for your benefit. She is very clear on her grading scale and what will be on the tests. Reviewing the homework assignments is key! Make sure to do the computer projects and WebAssign work as well!
Explains things clearly, one of the best math teachers I have had. Tough grader but she will help you learn the material. She gives hints about the test and you do not want to miss her notes so dont skip class.
Take this professor!! She is straightforward and makes SCMA 171 a breeze (and this is coming from someone who wasn't always stellar at math). You must do all the homework assignments and show up to class to do well, but you don't have to put in a lot of effort otherwise.
She is the best teacher at VCU by far. Take her, she great. The class is not bad at all. Just go to class and do the homework and you're set for an A.
TAKE THIS CLASS. Your efforts in this class reflect your grade. She seems intimidating at first but is nice and super helpful. 3 Exams, daily homework which she randomly checks so do it, online homework and 4 Computer Projects. This class seems like a lot of work but it's really not. TIP: don't mess up on any exams bc there is no extra credit.
Her class is very straightforward, if you go to class and do the daily homework, which isn't that hard, that is literally exactly what will be on the test, there is nothing on the test that she doesn't thoroughly explain in class, and if you don't understand something just ask her and you will pass just fine.
She is a saint and appreciates students who work hard so do so. Her class is really fun and applicable for business majors. If vcu reads this I really wish she taught more SCMA Calc classes bc she only teaches 1 so if you do like her and you are not a junior or senior good luck getting her for calculus. Come to class and do your homework.
Donna Byrd is hands down the best math instructor, possibly even just instructor in general, that I've ever had. She understands and appreciates that everyone comes from different academic backgrounds, and have different preferential learning methods. If you go to class every day and complete the homework, you will have NO issues. She is incredible
She will call you out if you do not try because she knows all of her students are very capable of the material. She will give you hints (if you can pick them up) about which questions will be on the exam and what you need to study. If you put in the effort, she will notice and will notice and help with you slip. BEST PROFESSOR!! BYRD IS THE WORD
Professor Byrd is a wonderful math teacher. Her lectures are educational as well as engaging. She will go above and beyond for anyone who makes the effort and asks for help. Stop in for office hours and you will experience first hand what it is like to have an educator truly care.
I LOVE MRS. BYRD! She made math the easiest thing to learn ever. I never had anything less than an A in her class. As long as you come to class, you will learn everything you need to know. She has many tests, web assigns and computer projects to give you lots of points. She is a joy to listen to as she lectures. 10/10
I'm personally not good at math so any teacher I have I know i'll still have to work hard to pass. She is the best math teacher i've ever had. She scared me honestly but in a way you respect her and don't want to get on her bad side. Do all your homework and everything that's expected of you as a student and you'll do fine.
I wish I could have her as a professor again! Absolutely incredible teacher. She makes sure you know what is expected on assignments, tests and quizzes. There is daily homework but she is pretty understanding and goes over what you ask about. She is always available to meet with her students and gives excellent help. A great choice if you can!
Mrs. Byrd really takes the time and helps her students. By far my favorite professor. Do the nightly home works and go to class and her exams will be cake.
Mrs. Byrd is a really great teacher however you have to come to class and you should study for the tests because they're really the big components of the grade and not easy. Homework will be rarely checked but worth a lot of points when checked. Computer projects are free A's if you get started early she will tell you exactly how to do them.
She's a very nice professor and clearly cares about hoping we all understand it but there's too much material to cover. There's so much homework that she doesn't even cover the majority of it. She does TRY to go over some homework but stops mid problem and then expects you to know the rest. Study HW problems and Webassign to pass, GL. Send help pls
She is a tough grader and might go back on her word about your possible final grade in her class. She is sometimes snarky when she talks in class, but 3/10 times has an affectionate side. Be prepared to do your hw everyday or it will heavily affect your grade.
She was an alright professor. The class was pretty tough if you don't already have a background in Calc. Goodluck. Try to take math 171 with her before this class, as it will help you out in the long run. Her lectures weren't that bad. ALOT of online homework. Be ready to turn homework in every single class. Spent hours each week on homework.
