Dr. Cain was tough. Her tests are hard (mostly matching). She knows the material and expects a lot. I did well in her class, but you need to learn the material. Her class has really helped me in Nursing school, unlike some of my friends who took another class.

Liked the class.

Gave review before every test. The test came almost entirely from the review. Very scheduled and methodical which some can appretiate. Bottoms is easier, but you will learn more with Cain.

Definately a professor who will 'hold your hand' through class. Personally, a little dumbed-down for my educational dollars.

Very soft spoken, reads the book word for word, she doesn't leave out anything. It made me want to skip class and read the book. Very boring

I had Dr. Cain for Micro lecture and lab and she is wonderful! She is extremely helpful to her students. Does review sessions before each lecture exam and the exams are straight forward from the study guides. Lab practicals have "mock practicals" the class before and are VERY helpful. The class is hard, but Dr. Cain makes you understand it.

I think she is a WONDERFUL teacher. I would recommend that anyone take her she is very kind and has a great sense of humor, but makes you learn the material at the same time. She has great teaching methods. I would definately take her again, but you have to study and "own" the material as she says.

This lady is Awesome!! I missed her teaching me this semester. She really knows how to bring microbiology to life. I took her class with A&P and felt like I made a mistake. She is so good that I managed to pull an A off in her lecture and Lab. She gets you excited. I had to work but if she hadn't been great I couldn't of done it. Thanks!

She is very thorough and loves the subject. I had no interest whatsoever in biology but she made it fun! Also very helpful if you cannot make it to a class she will catch you up. Tests are tough though! Highly recommend her

This is a very hard class in general. The problem I had is that you really have to UNDERSTAND the material, memorizing will do you little to no good at all. Her questions are application and difficult on the tests. There's 1 or 2 options for extra credit but not really

She is a great professor. Really makes the class interesting. Rarely used the text. Tests are completely based on her powerpoints. Has one group project that requires reference to the text, but book is on reserve. Attendence is key to understanding because she explains things that may not be on the powerpoint.

You have to WORK for an A in her class. She knows her stuff but will talk very fast during lecture. "Learn don't memorize" his her moto and she makes you APPLY the information on tests. No reviews during class you have to go on off day for lec review. Test = mult. choice, matching, *case studies, short answer. Expect to be stressed w/ alot of work!

She was Terrific!!! Hard but awesome. She is very fair. You have to do your part in this class. It is a lot of work but in the end it pays off. Her test are written by her. They do not come from a test bank which is helpful. Take her and you will be glad you did when you enter the Nursing Program!

Dr. Cain is a great teacher! She makes microbiolgy very interesting. The class is hard and takes a lot of studying, but this is due to the subject. Dr. Cain wants her students to succeed and will give you the tools to do so.

CAIN IS AMAZING! by far an excellent professor. Very tough class, u gotta study hard to make that A but Cain knows her stuff and will help u in any aspect of the way. shes very open to extra credit during the semester which is a plus. gotta b one of the best micro profs. in collin!

she makes learning micro a blast.i loved her as my lab teacher.as far as lecture class goes, her tests are similar to dr. fannini's style.she will answer q's but doesnt like eye contact and she laughs like a guinea pig.but she is awesome!!!!

She is an AMAZING teacher! You have to study, but she makes everything crystal clear and will meet with you to help with concepts. She gives you everything you need to succeed. If you study you will do well. I never even had to open my book. Everything in on her power points and study guide. She is also very nice!

Amazing Teacher! Never opened my book! She writes EVERYTHING in her powerpoints. The book makes things way more complicated then they have to be and she breaks it all down in simple terms. Biology is not easy to begin with, and you HAVE to study. She makes it much easier to understand the material and prepares you for anatomy. TAKE HER CLASS!!!!

Fantastic teacher - Microbiology is her world. I didn't expect to really like microbiology, but her enthusiasm was infectious! It is not an easy class, but I made an A by working through the study guides to prepare for the tests. Very interesting lectures. Put in the work- you will learn what you need to know. Take her lab too.

Great teacher! At first I thought her class was really hard. I got a C on my first test and was quite bummed. But then I mainly started studying the in class study guides and I got 90s and 100s for the rest of the semester. All the quizzes and homework are on Mastering Biology and are fairly easy. She was a fun, approachable,fantastic teacher!

I really enjoyed her. She explains things well, has a bit of a sense of humor and makes it easy to learn. Very little homework in lecture. She posts test reviews online and they are all I studied to make an A. You do have to study a lot but if you put in the work you will make an A. Very helpful in lab. The quizzes are easy if you study.

I took her Mastering Nutrition web course, and I am well informed now. Her teaching skills & curriculum forced me to discover & apply what I learned. I got a strong B and could've received an A; had I used the study guides that she posts & took time to study. Thank goodness for the extra credit options! I make better nutrition choices & lost w8!

VERY hard class (Microbiology,) but she makes you really understand the material not just for the test, but for use in health care professions. She is super organized, helpful and explains very well, which makes it easier for the students. LOVED her lab. I encourage you to take her for both, lab and lecture!

Dr. Cain was an Amazing teacher. She by far was the best teacher. Very understanding and would work with. Responded very quickly to emails or any questions you had. The class though was hard need to be able to put a lot of hard work and studying to receive a good grade. Over all the BEST professor I have ever had. (:

her lectures are really interesting and its easy to stay focused. she has power point slides but if your not in class then they wont help you

Dr. Cain is an amazing teacher. She is super organized and although this class requires a lot of work, she only assigns work that keeps you on track. If you keep up and go to lab and class, you can earn a good grade. She is clear, knowledgable without being boring, and she is very fair and forthright when it comes to grades.

Great professor! Her lectures are very entairtaining, she has great practical reviews and answers questions clearly! Her exams are very clear, no surprises and not complicated at all she covers the most important stuff you need to know for the exams during her lecture. She gives out study guides for the exam! Which are super helpful :)

Dr. Cain was a fantastic instructor! I hope that I get the chance to take her again. She accepts one late assignment for the semester. She is extremely receptive and helpful if you have an issue. There are a lot of assignments! The assignments came directly from the powerpoints so as long as you read they're easy. Papers were fun and not difficult

I have a degree from OU, but came to Collin to knock a few classes out for Nursing school. Dr. Cain is one of the absolute best teachers I have ever had. She is incredibly organized, and cares a ton about student success. She definitely makes you work, but if you show up and participate she is there to help and guide you when you need it.

Dr. Cain is an amazing professor. This is a team based class, so you work in groups. She has great study guides and crosswords to help you learn the material. Her power points are amazing. She is great about answering questions and helping her students understand the material being covered. Would highly recommend her.

Professor Cain is amazing! Yes, the lecture is group work BUT it actually works out really well. She has great reviews and she makes difficult information easier to not only understand and remember, but apply to clinical situations. You'll have to work for your grade but it will be completely worth it! Great preparation for the nursing field.

She uses the reverse classroom method where you learn at home & apply everything you learn in class in your group (using just your brain, no notes). It helps reinforce your learning of the material. Quizzes every week in lab & lecture. Show up, DO THE WORK AT HOME (study guides&chapter reading), and you will make a good grade! Absolutely love her.

I took a team based learning class with Dr. Cain. She gave clear instructions and even gave us the answers to some team applications problems (which are counted for a grade!). She is very organized. I didn't use the textbook once in this course, mastering is mandatory tho. She lets the entire class decide if you take a midterm or just final!

I took Dr. Cain for Microbiology 2420. She was AMAZING! She is very organized and put together. Her class is set up as a team-based learning format which was surprisingly helpful! Being introverted, I was a little scared of working in groups the whole semester, but it actually worked out really well! I highly recommend Dr, Cain!

I took an online General Nutrition class. Her online class set up is pretty straightforward. She has powerpoints for each chapter and little quizzes to make sure you understood the concepts from those chapters. There is a final paper, but it is super easy. The Final exam is optional if you took the other 5 exams.

I really enjoyed the lecture and learned a lot through the materials she provided. She has clear criteria that come with grading which lets students can focus on what they need to.

Dr. Cain is one of the best professors I've ever had! I took her for Micro. She has a flipped classroom style so you do have to study at home, but that is to be expected. The class has a lot of info to learn but she has SO many resources, if you have access to her recorded lecture videos WATCH THEM! She's also super nice

Micro is the hardest class I have taken, but Dr. Cain allowed me to achieve an A despite the difficulty of this course. In lecture/lab, a normal week will have 2-3 lecture videos, 10 pages reading, 2 homeworks, 5-10 online labs, 2 discussions, and 2 quizzes. Assignments due almost every day of the week. An A is difficult but possible with Dr. Cain!

Her recorded lectures/powerpoints are very helpful. DO THE STUDY GUIDES - those are where she pulls the exam content from. If you know the study guides, you will pass. There is time-waste Mastering HW online and weekly required discussion boards you must participate in. It's a hard class but definitely recommend. Very organized.

Dr. Cain was a really great professor. DO THE STUDY guides, if you do those you will pass the exams and do well. She also gives bonus points for doing the study guides which made the difference between an A and a B for me. Lots of time spent outside the class on homework. Extremely organized. You can get an A with effort. She's great!

Dr. Cain is one of the most intelligent professors I know. She is highly organized & her lectures are excellent! I ended up with an easy A because of my background, but anyone can do well if they don't ignore the study guide. It is also easy to approach her with any doubts, and she gives excellent feedback on all tests and assignments.

If you can, take her for both lab & lecture. She's one of my favorite professors I've ever had. Online videos for lecture w/ supplemental activities to reinforce. In person class is very interactive. Microbiology is hands down one of the hardest science classes I have ever taken. Dr. Cain knows a lot and is very passionate. However the one thing I had trouble grasping was group activities in class. You basically teach yourself the week before you learn the material in class. She teaches a flipped class, and adjusting was hard for me.

Dr. Cain was amazing! Super kind and helpful. There is a quiz for every chapter but there are videos you can watch and study guides.Flipped classroom so learning is done at home and activities are done in class. 4 exams, online hw for every chapter, and participation credit. Do the study guides they are amazing, do them and you will guarantee pass!

Best teacher! Makes Microbio so interesting, engaging, and fun to learn. Her classes are reverse learning so you will learn outside of class, which made me nervous, but I learned so much by doing that and doing case studies in her class. Loved her and her class! I would take her class again, because it was so much fun.

Taking her class this semester has been hard, but usually people don't want to ask questions cause they feel like they may judge them, or they would feel dumb, but Professor Cain makes you feel comfortable. She explains it thoroughly and does not embarrass you infront of everyone, like how other professors does....

Bruh, she da goat, take her, she has CLEAR study guides for all quizzes and exams, if u just do those and learn the material with the videos she posts, ur good. u have to put in the work, don't expect an easy A take her lab tho, its so much easier

I enjoyed Dr. Cain's flipped classroom, it felt great to know some/most of the material before entering the room. The downside was the amount of homework for this class, which I don't recommend sitting down and trying to do all of it in one sitting. Even though it is a lot, it is manageable—great Study guides & lab. Always show up to class.

She's nice and caring for students! Her class is organized with clear explanations.Quizzes and team activities before each class really help me understand the material. As long as you follow her instructions and study guides, you'll be fine. only downside is frequent quizzes. Test might look hard, but it is just the way she creates questions.

I took Dr.Cain for microbiology and it was amazing! I feared this class based on what everyone would tell me but she made it so easy. She has a reverse classroom, you do learning activities in class and as long as you show up and participate you get a 100 for the day but they help reinforce what you learned.
