Ms Gordon is a very easy teacher. At first I wasn't tooo sure about her class but it got very easy and interesting @ through the semester. Awesome teacher and I highly recommend you taking her if you really want to pass. Oh yeah...If you are going to be verylate, it's still ok with her. She will still include you on attendance.
Ms. Gordon is the best English 2 teacher that I thought her class would be hard but it was easy throughout the semester. You can come late and she will count u present no matter what. As long as you do the work you will pass no matter what. Everyone from the beginning never dropped since the first day and I'm so glad everyone is passing.
Ms.Gordon comes off kinda of mean. But shes really just outspoken. I thought her class was going to be hard but i was wrong it was preety easy. I slacked off but got bak on track and she passed me. Attendance is not that important to her. Just do the work and your guranteed to pass!
She is a great teacher! Very helpfull, give alot of extra credits. You will never fail if you take her class because she will work with to better your grade.
Miss Gordon is a great teacher. She does not play favorites and she is really helpful as well. grades not too hard on papers. Really honest. WOW! From the very first day Prof. Gordon was very clear on expectations. It was very encouraging to have that positive energy everyday in class. Prof. Gordon was very creative in getting all students participation. She made learning fun, but held everyone accountable. I would like to that HCC and it's hiring team for hiring a wonderful Prof.
Professor Gordon is a GREAT professor. She is passionate about the subject and uses creative methods to keep the class enthusiastic and engaged during her lectures. She gives you all the tools you need to pass her class. If you show genuine concern and effort, she will offer additional help. One of the best Professors I have ever had.
Professor Gordon made the course as easy as possible for her students. She is very helpful and understanding if you just speak to her. If you follow her directions, pay attention, and do the assignments her class is easy to pass.
Class is pretty easy, she's nice if you pay attention and participate in class. Her grading however, is a whole different story. She takes points off for all kinds of things. The online tutors at askonline.net for HCC are completly useless!!!!!! I turned in my essays to the website, corrected it as the tutors told me, and still missed 15-20 points.
Ms. Gordon is en excellent teacher, she is hard at the beginning but after a couple of weeks she becomes the easiest teacher,just don’t be late, she helps you a lot with your papers so you can get a good grade. I’m definitely taking her for 1302

Ms.Gordon is very friendly. I enjoyed her class. The one thing that I don't like her is her grade is very hard she'll find something to take points off on your essay. But over all is fun.
She is a cool teacher. Friendly and all, but real hard. She grades her essays really hard which is more than 50% of the whole grade. I tried my best to do in her class but failed. I didnt get much better in writing in her class. I thought she was easy but i was mistaken. If you are a average student, dont take it.
You want it easy, go back to high school. Ms. Gordon is fair, very friendly, and tough. I made A in the class by working my tail off learning along the way. She gives pop quizzes on the numerous reading assignments. You are expected to turn in the work on time. Always willing to help, answer questions. Very dedicated! Would take class again.
Professor Gordon is the type of individual who stresses politeness, but practices rudeness. She yells at students for asking questions, which you must because her instructions are incomprehensible. She is not professional, and types our assignments in class as she is explaining them. English isn't even her first language. I would advise avoidance.

Out spoken teacher sometime to the point of being rude! ESL student, dont'ever take her class! 99% you will withdraw! started @ 27 students & only 5 left at the end of semester. She graded super hard, 1 mistake in work cited (space twice instead of 1) she took 10pts off (work cited works 10pts for the essay). exemtremely helpfull & clear instructor

I had her for the summer months so our class was condensed but we had 4 essays. The best thing about her is on "peer editing" day, you can stay after class and she will read through your entire essay basically grade it for you. She is hard, but it is possible to ace this class. NEVER bring your cell to this class cause she WILL fail you!
Overall she is a good teacher. Expect to work you are in college. Do not bring your cell phone to her class. If you do have any questions she will take the time to answer them.
For basic english like 1301, 1302...i can understand that she may be fair. Dont confuse yourself by taking for for American Literature...Are u kidding me???.. GPA SPOILER ALERT!!!!!..I bet you almost everyone made "c"s.

Professor Gordon is a GREAT teacher! I had her for English 1301 and would take her for 1302 if she was teaching at my campus still. She has very specific layouts for essays and makes it super easy. If you do not pass her class its probably because you don't know how to follow step by step instructions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Got an A easily!

Great professor! Fun class! Highly recommend her for anyone taking English! Just follow the guide lines she provides for her essay and you can easily get an A. Really good teacher. 1st day of school thght @ droppin her class..she was actn like a real B..she was like dont come late, no drinks/snacks, she spoke @ how she grade essays & format EX: 1/2 from bottom & she use to measure w/ruler but she knw now just by lookin at it. Howevr i stayed in her class & glad i did. Aftr 1st day she was totally cool!
I can't believe people are on here slamming the G! She is an excellent teacher. I've taken her for 1301 and 2. Super helpful and intelligent. She practically writes the essays for you, all you have to do it meet her halfway and follow her guidelines. And she's not rude- she keeps it real. This isn't high school, yo.
This is by far the best English instructor I have ever had. She made me believe in myself as far as school is concerned. she means business and you have go to appreciate this..!! Prof.Gordon is an awesome teacher!She explains what she expects and wants in an essay and it is really easy to follow.I sucked at writing papers, she helped me to be able to write fast and easy. Take her! It is worth it. She teaches you alot and connects with her students. She will help you if you put an effort to receive help.
Professor Gordon is AWESOME!! Prior to the class I thought I'd be bored out of my mind, but she makes the literature interesting and involves the class. Journals are required but they're not hard and actually work in your favor towards the end of the semester with the term paper. I highly recommend her!

Gordon is an unorganized, rude professor. Avoid taking her at all cost! If you are a minute late according to her clock in the class room (of course it's like ten minutes early, then you can't enter the class. It was just like my junior class in high school. I could have saved my money for all the time of mine she wasted.
She is not as hard as many will think. She is a very "Time Oriented" teacher. 1 minute late, you will be marked absent, as she'll tell you once you step foot in her class. Its best to complete EVERY assignment, because they always make it easier for the next. either do the work, or fail.

Professor Gordon is very serious with her job. she maintains the ethics of teching and works with you to the extend that you finally become a good writer after leaving her class. I made an A during the 2nd summer session but I learned much more than just acquiring the grade. I suspect every one from that session made at least C. Taking her is wise.

Whoever writes all those negative comments obviously is a slacker! She's strict but fair with everyone. If you're looking for a challenge, take this class. If you have a problem attending class then you should avoid this class because all her work is linked to homework and work done from other classes. If you pass this class then you earned it!

She dropped me from her class for 2 absences. Take her class if you are ready to have 3 journals for home work over just 3 off days.
At first was intimidated by what she required. She is a no nonsense teacher. She tells you exactly what is required and she expects it to be done like that no excuses allowed. If you ask she will give you all the help she can. I felt she was great. Easy to understand and to get along with. You just have to do the work and turn it in on time.

Donna Gordon is one of the best english professors. She give you step by step instructions on how to do the work and her class is really interesting. No textbook needed but flash drives are a necessity. She is not as bad as people say she is just try her, she is worth it.

Straight Forward Expectations. Fun and easy-going. Serious when need be, but always eager to joke and have a good time when acceptable. Professor Gordon is probably the easiest and easy going teacher I've ever had. Textbook is not required. On the first day of class she is quite intimidating but the rest of the semester you will look forward to attending her class. She has a same up for every assignment she gives (essays and journals) is all she really gives. Easy A.

Donna is a very good English teacher. We didn't need a textbook at all, all of the assignments were a piece of cake! If you do the work and attend class you should also do well. Also she has a wonderful sense of humor. I would recommend everyone to take her. I passed with an A.

this professor is horrible. on the first day of class your essay 1 is very easy though. but when you start doing the journals, the second day of class, you will do 5 journals all in one day writing about social issue. the annotated bibliography + research paper are very complex. you will fail if you guys don't do it. 1 presentation too.

A very FUN class, but the drawback here is that she dishes out A TON of work for the students. Not a great class for English deficient students. Her assignments all tie together in the end so doing all the work is mandatory. She offers very little extra credit. Gordon is a very laid back instructor, but can at times be pretty intimidating.
I took her for the winter mini term. She made us do a LOT of work, but she was extremely helpful and understanding. I made an A because I worked very hard for it. If you are willing to work consistently, take her. I promise, after the end of the semester, you will gain knowledge in English, that you'll be able to implement in several other classes

Professor Gordon is basically not available when help is needed, she doesn't want to answer questions. She will award 100 to somebody who answers a question first, it doesn't matter if wrong or right. At the end of the course nobody knows how to write argumentative, analytical essays. Communication is limited because she doesn't answer emails.
Gordon is alright teacher. I am in her summer 5 week course and it is beyond fast. If you keep up with the work you will be ok, but its a lot of work. She doesn't spend much time on what she expects so you have to keep asking and she gets annoyed sometimes. You don't get grades till after the course. Choose another professor if possible.
Prof. Gordon is a great person and does teach the class very well. However, if you fall behind at all it's near impossible to catch up. The class moves very quickly, and Prezi became an annoyance. If you do your work and keep on track this is a great course. If you procrastinate at all, this class isn't for you.
Tasking her right now and I can say I seriously hate this class! Way TOO much work I feel like she thinks that this is the only class we have! She consistently gives you multiple assignments at once and when you finish this she throws another load at you! And you don't even get your grades till the end! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Another one was "If your partner (WHOM I CHOSE FOR YOU) is absent, you get a ZERO TOO" She can be a nice teacher, but she chooses not to be. If you aren't 110% dedicated to English, find another teacher.
Do not take her class! She is extremely rude. If your lost or you don't understand the material she will quickly get an attitude. I am fortune to had wonderful, very kind and brilliant Professor Gordon. I took her class in Spring 14. she valued hard work. She is understandable, loving, caring, and very soft spoken and kind. I got "A". She is clear & focus what she is teaching us and she make sure that we are on same page. I am also taking her 1302 class. highly recommending.
I asked for help after the first class,she took her personal time to help me with interaction, for class assignments,computers:1 hour! Best hour spent, showed me resources for writing, citing and was an effectual listener to the class for projects to get the best results as you learn!She gives a lot from all angles, but beneficial to getting an A!
I thought she was pretty cool and chill for a while.I did everything&i mean business when it comes to work.She ended giving me a C,when I shouldve had at least an B+ or A-.Had us doing lots of assignments and only really average out 6 of them for my final grade which i earned a C. Meaning, she only used a few of the assingmnets to average my grade.
I would not take her course online again. The Professor seems annoyed when you email her to get clarity. She does not provide feedback on writing assignments until after you've turned in several and by then you have repeated those mistakes. Reach out to tutors help early on. You'll be OK. May have been an easier course if taken in class.

Prof. Gordon is extremely crystal clear in what she expects. If you follow her instructions exactly, then you will receive an A. She never graded anything till the end of the semester, which made me anxious. Overall she wants everyone to do a good job, she does provide tutoring!! She's awesome.
Assigned a lot of somewhat difficult assignments. The assignments take a long time to complete and multiple assignments were due at the same time together as well so BE PREPARED. The teacher grades slowly, you may want to reach out to her to get a progress update. Take this class ONLY if you have time and you are confident in your writing.
Professor Gordon is amazing. She is there to help clear all doubts when asked and she always replies to e-mails. Her assignments are easy and she is not a tough grader. Since this course was for 5 weeks, we had to do a lot of homework. Everything about the course was very clear. If you follow her instructions, you are sure to get good grades.

Professor Gordon is nice, but can be difficult when posting her assignments on eagle online. I don't like how she post stuff last minute. She is very picky and strict to some extent.
She is rude! She posts so many assignments gives you only two days to complete them. Also, her instructions are not clear at all... AVOID HER CLASS
This professor is decent at best. She does clarify any confusion, but you really have to coax it out of her. She really helps out the students by only giving out a little bit at a time for major assignments so be sure to get your work done on time. The semester is nearly over and she has yet to grade a single paper, or at least tell the students.
She is a pretty easy grader, but she is really confusing. Her writing requirements are really weird. You'll be alright if you turn everything in. Also she is full of it. All bark no bite, claims she will make you wait outside if you're late. Everyday someone was late and she didn't care. I'd probably try to find a different teacher
She has very long prompts. I took her online and honestly thought I was failing with the class by the way she described her grading. I ended up with an A so I'm assuming that as long as you follow the criteria (i.e amount of pages for essays and quotes) then you'll be fine.
Not a fan, as long as you follow her way of writing you will be alright but be prepared, her way of writing goes against all logic and previous experience you may have in terms of writing since its a completely arbitrary system. If you have any desire to learn how to actually write or even if you want an easy class, don't take this class.
She'll give you a good grade if you follow the confusing directions. The instruction is paragraphs. She posts everything at one time, not much organization. It's like "her! Have fun!" She missed a due date for an assignment, and that made everything worst. I'd advise you to take the class at the school, but the online class isn't that hard online.

I took the winter mini 3 week course and this class is not an easy A (I got a B). She assigns journals and discussions but the majority of the grade are the 5 major essays. Instructions are VERY confusing but if you don't follow them, you will not pass. She quickly replies to emails but is not very helpful. I do not recommend this class to anyone.
Donna Gordon is the worst professor I have ever encountered. She is very "one size fits all". She does not care about her student's special circumstances so do not think you can submit anything late. Her class is unfit for a second start online course because it is extremely heavy loaded and she is extremely unhelpful. She doesn't grade anything.
English & writing in general is not one of my strong points. I actually despise English. I pick my classes based on the teacher and this time I chose the wrong teacher. It was a lot of work. Yes, this is the most stressful class EVER! & yes, when you ask a question you're made out to look like you're an idiot. I tried my best and it wasn't enough.

Absolutely clear on expectations. Listen to comments given on paper and listen to lectures.
She was very nice and very helpful. Sometimes her rules could be a little much but if you follow her guidelines for essays and projects the class will be fairly easy.
If you care about your GPA avoid this prof. She talks about having fun but its not fun whatsoever. You'll have a hard time understanding this course as her instructions are really confusing and not clear at all. DONT DO IT
I've taken her class twice. It's A LOT of work but it's all essays (would recommend if this is your strong suit). Her instructions can be rather confusing, tough grading. Also, she didn't grade any of the assignments! All she gave us was a letter grade at the end (no idea what grades were on individual assignments). She replies thoroughly & fast.
Take on your own risk.! She is the most confusing teacher i have ever had. Literally no one can withstand her instructions, don't have any expectations of improvement in your writings coz you might have passed or failed by the time she grades all of your papers and assignments (right before final week).

This professor is not helpful at all everytime i asked questions. She would tell me to read instructions instead. I did. I would not asked questions if I understand it. She never respond to my questions with a solid answer, and here I am thinking educators are the people who would help us with our difficulty.

Her method is so confusing. We have to use a couple websites for our assignments and discussions. It was so inconvenient. She never give our grades back in a timely manner like she should. No clear calendar for homeworks, so we do not know the exact due dates. You have to check daily and find out if you have anything due or not.

She turns an easy assignment into a top secret code you must decrypt. You have no chance to figure out what her true expectations are because she will not grade assignments.
Her instruction confusing. This is an online class and she makes it difficult for not having a clear instruction. Every time you ask something she will not help, tell you to read instruction again. But then will always say "email me if you have question." What is the point of emailing her if she does not want to help? Rude in replying email too.
Unclear instructions, using 3 different websites (Canvas, TII, Prezi), act like she will help, but never does, did not grade until the last minute. It is better to email your classmates if you does not understand the instruction. You have a greater chance to solve her confusing instruction with your classmates because she will not clear anything.
I don't know what take her so long to give us our grades back. So many discussions, tough grader, and her instructions are confusing because she would repeat information or add instruction for upcoming assignment. Then she does not want to be bother if I ask questions.
Online class should have clear instruction, and students should be able to ask questions when they are unclear about what they need to do. She would not answer your question. Her tone and language in emails are rude. Take her forever to grade our assignments.

Wow, what a great role model. She expect us to turned all assignments in on-time, and she only manage to grade 3 assignments by our last week of the semester. Her instructions are confusing, she is rude in replying email, and she does not want to clarify anything that we are unclear about.
It is kind of nice that she let us revise our essays, so we can improve our grades. The problem is she has not grade our essays. This is my last day, and I only received 3 graded assignments, so I am not quite sure whether I need to revise my essays or not. I wish I can give her due date too on when I expect feedback and grades back.
I took this class online. She made no priority to grade online stuff UNTIL the last minute. The students had NO TIME to correct themselves because of how late she was. Don't bother emailing her, she will tell you, "look over the rubric again." We emailed her for a reason, she should've clarified from the first place! Overall, not good. Avoid her.
Do not take this class during a summer session if you struggle with English courses. There is a ton of homework and reading assignments to complete in such little time. However, you do not have to buy a book so that's a plus!
I agree, when I it comes to her grading criteria, and she most definitely doesn't post grades right away. So far she's only graded one assignment on turnitin and there are a lot of papers to write. She did email back in a timely fashion, and tried her best to help but also wanted me to refer to rubric/syllabus. I enjoyed this class overall.
Her online classes have perplexing and befuddled instruction lists which if you don't follow perfectly will lead to you failing the class. I am a great writer and English student, but this class didn't even give me proper instructions on how to even do the coursework.
She doesn't grade any of the assignments until AFTER the course is over for summer classes. There's lot of writing involved and very little instruction provided. Avoid at all costs (for summer classes at least).
Gordon was of no help at all when it came to questions and I would not get a response until after the assignment was due. She offers no help or praise. Today was the last day of class and 6/8 assignments are not graded. You are better off taking a different prof or taking the class somewhere else. I wanted to enjoy the readings but never could.
Prof. Gordon Taught me so much. I am so gratful for her she is for helping any student thagt wants to pass in be a college graduate. If you are full of grap then she will see through you in she will not be pleased with that. She wants the best for all her students I no it personally she helped me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is similar to taking an upper level English class. There is a ton of writing in MLA format and you have to write exactly how she wants it. There is a project due and it is very time consuming. You can do the project on your own, but I wouldn't dare! You will not know your grade until the class is over. She does respond, but does not expand.
Took her online class and there was too much to write! She had essays due at least once a week , seemed like I was in English course and not Humanities. Professor did not respond any of the questions that were asked regarding the work tat she posted. When asked to give a more in depth explanation she only reworded the instructions.
Let's just be straight forward on this. She hands out a lot of assignments, if you do pay attention, take good care of your notes as they will assist you for the rest of the semester. Prof. Gordon is very hard to understand if English isn't your best subject, so stay away from this professor.
Although I took the class online, sometimes I still had questions about an assignment, her repsonse would be in all caps reiterating that the information is in the directions. She also didn't e-mail back in a timely manner. An assignment could be due on TII and it took forever for her to put it on there for us to submit.
Dr. Gordon can be nice but, her teaching style is disorganized and difficult to comprehend. You need to be in class by the time it starts or you will be marked absent and she wont be lenient when it happens, even if you are 3 minutes late. Expect your assignments to not be graded until the end of the semester so, you wont know if you passed/failed.
She gives a lot of meaningless papers that have little or nothing relating to the course. Very abstract topics and there is no real feedback till the end of the semester. She can be rude sometimes but if you end up taking her for whatever reason which i highly advice you don't just do your work and you will get a descent grade.

I tried to avoid all the negative comments in the beginning when I first enrolled but I guess I was wrong. As far as the course has gone, she did not grade assignments in a timely manner so students had no clues how they were doing in class. Prepare to work on your own A WHOLE LOT if you decide to take her class!
okay let me start by saying that professor gordans class is NOT for whimps. she gives clear instructions on what to do however she gives A LOT of work. if you stay on top of your work, you will have no problem with her class. also keep an open line of communication with her she is actually pretty cool.
Ive only had three Bs so far over 60 hours and one from her. She is bad. She gives you tons of homework and assignment and does not grade them untill the last day of semester. No feedbacks. Horrible grading. Stay away from her.

This class (Forms of Literature) taught me nothing about forms of literature. She is unclear in her directions, and just repeats them when asked about them. Our class started a groupme account to help each other. You're better off finding another professor for this course.
She is not helpful. She expect for you to read the instructions and automatically know how to do her work. She dont go the extra miles for her students. She will let you submit your paper wrong, hours before the deadline and will not let you know you submitted it wrong until after the deadline is over. Her class is hard for no reason.
She dropped me after we had discussion about a mandatory assignment she waited a week after the assignment was due to drop me as well as tell me 2 days after the official record drop date to drop me wouldnt budge

Completed 1301 in summer 2019. It was kinda fast-paced. She's a great teacher. Some may think shes harsh but she is just very straightforward and blunt. She was nice to me, lol. She wants you to be successful. She provides great help when needed and gave the class many resources to complete assignments. Go to class & pay attention and you'll pass.
She is slow to grade everything. Her requirements for assignments are not clear. I had to email her for almost every paper and presentation that was due. To make matters worse she doesn't reply to your emails in time, which then she will mark off the assignment because it wasn't done correctly. For your sanity don't take this professor!!!
She doesn't care about her students. We had assignments due on Christmas and New Year's. Made her class harder than it is to be relevant when other professors of the same class do not make it as hard as she does. Gives horrible instructions on every assignment and when she does email back, it's too late to correct anything.
She didn't start grading till the last week or two of the semester and by then it was too late to change how you wrote your papers. She doesn't give any feedback and is very strict on what sources you are allowed to use. The work load was not spaced out, the first half of the class there was nothing then after spring break all essays were assigned

I had Professor Gordon and honestly it was by far the best experience Ive had, she is very straightforward, very organized, and explains in detail on what needs to be done. She is understanding and was always quick to respond to emails, helped out so much. As long as you do whats assigned and turn in your work one time, & show up, youll be good
Professor Gordon didnt teach anything. Her method of teaching was to rely on past knowledge and give down to the detail requirements for grading. There is no room for writing creatively, everything is planned down to what TYPE of sentence it is. Its her way or its the wrong way, no discussion. I have more but Ive run out of space!
I'll admit English is not my strongest subject, but overall I didn't learn anything from her or the class itself. It took forever to get my grades back. She grades really hard. Her instructions for assignments are very specific, and sometimes confusing. I'm just hoping after finals I pass this class. I would say more specifics if I had more space.
She should not be a teacher. If you do not care about your GPA take her class. but if you care about your GPA run from her. She does not care about her students. she will not give your grade until the end of the semester when you can not do anything to change it. horrible professor. She gives very lengthy instructions that will make you tired.
Definitely the hardest teacher I have worked with. We got very little feedback, you must really work hard to get questions answered (it is possible). She is very specific in instructions and you must do it exactly as stated, very little wiggle room for failure.
Taking this class as a winter mini. I go to A&M and have had great professors in the past, and am a great student. Never expected a community college teacher to be so incredibly harsh while grading and rude to her students. She will gladly look for any excuse to take off as many points as possible. She shouldn't teach. Run. Do not take this class.
I am a honors student at UT Austin and I am failing this class. The grades I received in her class are the lowest I've ever gotten in my entire academic career. I agree with all the comments posted below me. Her feedback and grading do not make sense- all I see are points being deducted in every possible way, in every assignment.
This professor offers no support to assist you, you will be teaching yourself. She grades papers extremely late so her feedback is rendered useless. Her assignment instructions are literally 5 pages long, so yes you will be confused about what to do. She will take away 20 points for using the wrong font and or spacing.
Prof. Gordon is a relatively straightforward and strict person. But to choose her course you have to be prepared to write a lot of paper. I personally feel that the course is more difficult for me, she especially likes to use a lot of capital letters to introduce the assignments which I dislike... Anyway, personally do not recommend it!
Professor Gordon waits until the very last minute to grade ANYTHING! By the time she does start grading and giving feedback, it is useless! Not to mention she is not specific when it comes to assignments and looks for any reason to take off points. Do yourself a favor and dont take this class!
This class has been a nightmare. I understand that summer classes are fast-paced but I have taken other summer classes and they are nothing like hers. Honestly really frustrating. I took this class as a winter mini-mester course, and was prepared for the fast pace. The pace was not the problem, it was the lack of communication/feedback. I reached out several times to find more specific guidelines and was met with almost nothing. I ended up satisfied with my grade, but the process was not that.
Please if you want to save your Gpa, do not choose this instructor. She will grade everything at the very end of the semester and grade harshly. You will not get any feedback or any real instructions other than the syllabus. She does not respond very often to emails either. If she does they will be vague and careless.
Professor Gordon is kind, cares about her students, and is always ready to give students an extra chance to get work done. Has resonating voice which may sound harsh to some, but she lets you know that is her way of carrying her point across and encourages you to ASK.
Took her Spring 2022 class in person. Very responsive in person or by email, as long as you are not bombarding with questions the night before deadline. She tells you what she wants, is required to achieve the full grade for assignments, and is open to answering questions. Her class isn't difficult as long as you get work done.
I took her spring mini class and her class overall was not hard, what was very frustrating was that she graded everything at the very end so I wasn't able to get any feedback on my papers so I did not know what needed to be improved.

I took Prof.Gordon's English 1301 course for the 2022 Fall semester. Overall, she was a great professor with a few flaws. When it comes to the assignments in class we have a fair amount of time to complete them we work on them in and out of class. For every assignment, there is an opportunity for extra credit. Do NOT procrastinate NO LATE WORK.
Warning! Just look for a better prof! She was the worse and her instructions for the assignments were so hard to decipher. Sorry to say but believe the bad reviews on this one! No late work no acceptions. VERY easy to fail. Grades are posted in turnitin but at the end of semester.
This course was an easy A. Don't slack off, don't be afraid to ask questions, and don't ask things last minute. I loved the lectures, she was very engaging, and respectful, and her instructions were very clear. I am excited to take ENGL 1302 this coming semester!
You're doing a Prezi presentation/resume/research paper/random essay for the final. The formatting for everything is wildly bizarre and requires a mishmash of APA student, professional and weird teacher-specific stuff, so nothing you learn will ever be used again. The grading is highly anal-retentive, and you can be docked for literally anything.

Her assignments were easy, but as time went on, they got more complex, her instructions were very lengthy confusing. At the end of the semester, she let us correct 3 major assignments, but that is it. NO matter the circumstances, she did not allow late work. She is a very harsh grader, and though my forte is English and writing, I have to retake.
Professor Gordon is one of the best professors I've had on HCC. I took her for 1301, 1302 and 2311 since Spring 2022. Do not let all the negative comments deceive you; these are just students who were not willing to put in the work. All her classes consist of writing a big paper in small parts, but she will help you on each step of the way.
This professor is amazing, she goes by the quote "Do your best and have fun". And the simplicity of the class reflects that. There are plenty of small assignments that can be completed in 10mins. The biggest assignments are a job research paper and resume paper. Those who are complaining probably didn't read her assignment instruction thoroughly.

Professor Gordon's class was a real challenge. The instructions were unclear, and grading seemed arbitrary. However, using resources like Unstuck study ai alongside the textbook helped me stay on top of things. Overall, it was a tough but valuable learning experience.
Don't take class with this professor, even though she had the mistake she won't admit it and as a consequence there is your grade, she makes everything complicated her assignments carry a lot of instructions and are hard to understand. She would rather not even see my proof that the assignment was completed as well as other classmates.

Absolutely not. I wanted to knock out English 2 in the summer but was severely humbled. This teacher gives so many assignments with confusing and long instructions. You could think you did everything perfectly, and she would take off points that contradict her own instructions. She is not flexible and refuses to acknowledge her own mistakes.
She's a decent teacher, and human being but her assignment rubrics are extremely difficult to comprehend it almost feels deliberate. Avoid if anxiety prone and keep your peace of mind.
Got an A by the skin of my teeth. HORRIBLE experience, literally made me hate this class. Impossible instructions, writes all her assignments in all caps, doesn't allow office hours, EXTREMELY HARSH grader. Ma'am this isn't Harvard chill tf out.
