you will not learn anything applicable in her class. She is boring and gives impossible amounts of unclear work. Don't make the same mistake i did.
Expects you to know evrything, doesn't teach you anything. Don't take it unless you know alot about Real estate. 3 big projects due that are time consuming.
I never drop from any of my classes but this class was the first. She is a poor teacher. I didn't learn anything, nothing was clearly stated, and I felt that I didn't belong there. She doesn't know anything about Real Estate. I suggest that you DON'T make the same mistake like I did.
She has a dry sense of humor. And all you "kiss-butts", you can't cajole her. She gives lots of homework that you most likely won't know anything about. Her homework is very unclear. Avoid her. Take Real Estate Principles at another school. Her class is hard. Bottom line, avoid her!
Donna is a great teacher. Those who rate her as poor are students who want just an easy A in their classes! She makes you work hard, but she knows her stuff inside and out. She has over 30 years of real-life Real Estate experience. She lectures on a ton of non-text-book stuff.
She is very strange and doesn't teach the class. She makes up rules and just doesn't know the material.
She gives alot of work. If you apply your self you WILL learn the hard way. She brings real life experience to the projects. She loves to teach and is not an easy teacher, but wants you to learn.
Donna is a funny teacher yes, but don't take this class expecting to learn ANYTHING. She's hyper active and expects that you know everything for some reason, duh, this is the reason I'm taking the class because I DON'T! VERY TIME CONSUMING USELESS projects. Go with Fred Durf, he's boring but at least you'll learn and less useless projects.
THINKS YOU SHOULD KNOW EERYTHING, LOTS OF HOMEWORK AND USELESS PROFECTS THAT EVEN RE PEOPLE IN FIELD DONT KNOW BECAUSE I ASKED SEVERAL AND HAD NO CLUE. MAKES YOU STAY IN BORING LECTURE TIL END OF CLASS AND YOU LEAVE WITH NO CLUE.
teacher is boring, not very clear on the materials, not helpfull at all, lots of homework that you have no idea what to do, testa are hard, projects are time consuming and are a waste of time, runs thru the material too quickly, do not recomend you to take her, she'll make you change your major.

Donna has tons of real world experience and her classes are based on this. Don't let some of the comments here make you not see her - these are ANONYMOUS postings and you should keep that in mind. Her in-class teaching is invaluable and homework is real-world stuff...if you want to be a professional, you will start off on the right foot w/Donna.
There's lots to take in from this class but Dr. Grogan is so enthusiatic about the subject that she makes it exciting to come to class and discover the different aspects of real estate and all the possibilities. She's very helpful and has helped me find a new career and future in real estate. LOVE HER!
Bootleg RE prospects need not apply. Want to understand how real estate contracts should be executed and avoid being sued later on, take Grogan. If an agent doesn't understand Grogan's projects...ask how many contracts they've executed. Want clients to believe you can sell their home and represent them on a purchase take Donna Grogan

Is true the Sat class is a fast pace one. There is a lot of material to cover in a short period of time. But like I always say if you want something you need to work for it. One thing for sure I was never bored; I will take my next classes with her. My Experience with her was excellent.

This class consisted of ch quizes given at the end of class and project where we went infront of the class and explained one of the chapters. The project was the assignment I learned the most from because when I start working on the field Im going to be explaining to a group of people how their financing on their loan works and ill have to be ready
escrow is a interesting class, you learn alot about what is needed to go into escrow and to close the escrow. the class consitsts of ch quizzes after every lecture, and one in class presentation. the presentation was the most interesting, and helpful in learning escrow.
Actual class was'nt bad at all. A pretty good pace to keep you interested but not overwhelmed. A pretty beefy project that is time consuming but you learn a lot.Overall the class was worth it whether or not this is your profession.
I thought this class was very informative overall. The assignment I thought was the most educational was the chapter presentation, this is good because it helps build confidence in communication but most importantly it forces you to learn the material because you are responsible for teaching the class. Going over the quizzes more would be helpful.

This professor has a strong understanding of the deep inner-workings of real estate. Her sophistocated lecturing style adequately suppliments the vast real estate spectrum of California. Nevertheless at 930am, lectures tend to be a bit incoherent. Take her later class.
Teacher was very experienced and gave good lectures involving supplemental tools for good learning and memorizing. Overall, this class was okay, although i'd like to see more student-teacher interaction.
An outstanding instructor. She makes you work hard, but you really learn. If you are going to work in Real Estate or Escrow, you run the risk of being sued...she will teach you how to stay out of trouble by doing it right. I highly recommend her for any real estate or business class.
Grogan was a blast...funny and sarcastic. The midterm and the project were a lot of work and very time consuming, but I learned a lot.
Donna is a great teacher. A 9 hour class would usually be a long day, but she is so funny that the day goes by too fast. Im looking forward to my next class with her. And on top of all the entertainment I learned so much.
She is the worst teacher ever. She would be good if she didn't go off on tangents like every five seconds. Her class does not follow her syllabus and she is unorganized. I do not know how she got the job. She knows all about real estate, but the problem is that she cannot compile it all together to teach, unorganized. Nothing more.
I took Introduction to Appraisal from this idiot. She knows absolutely nothing about appraisal. She had to get another instructor to come in and try to teach some math that she couldn't teach, and he couldnt' teach. I had to take the course over at a private school.
Boring, unhelpful, lots of work, long hours in class.
I took Real Estate Principals with her which is the biggest mistake of my life. I would be better off using self help books. She rambled on about her family and taught me nothing. She made me never want to have anything to do with RE ever again. If you want to be taught RE DON'T TAKE HER CLASS. She is very abstract and does not care . FAIL
Awful instruction all she did was talk about her personal life worst instructor I have ever had
disorganized, ill tempered, and frequently unclear in her expectations. She also spends waaaaaay too little time on stuff that is on the real estate salesperson's test and waaaaay too much on personal stories. Lots of work....basically a "self teaching" course--not interested in answering questions in class
not a very good teacher--I will never take again. Lots of work, little guidance--she expects you to know all the stuff before you take the class

This is a hard class to me. It covers a lot of contents. Since Dr. G is very experience in Real Estate industry, she used a lot love live examples in the class which make students easily to absorb the concepts. I fully recommend you take her class.
N.Vavrek- I enjoyed taking Mrs. Grogans class. The book is definately required and the ALL the work is manditory. This is not a class you want to take if you are not in it for the learning experience. This class is hard if you dont study or dont attend class. There are quizzes do every week and the mid-term and final(S) are based on the materia

M. Scott - Mrs. Grogan is a teacer I was warned about when signing up. I was told off the bat that she would be difficult and she is. A crap load of work with short deadlines. But it's just like you're doing a real sale, with all the pressure of her deadlines being just like those of a real transaction. I might take another of her classes.
Specelle Williams. I found this class very helpful to me, yet fun and interesting at the same time. I have a short attention spand and this class is able to keep my attention and that is a plus. I would tell anyone to take this class because Dr. Grogan knows her materials and is very educated. I also found myself looking forward to class.
VERY GOOD
Mireles, Julio. This class is not an easy "A". There is alot of information and it can be overwhelming if you do not devote enough time to the material. The proffesor's lectures compliment and do not supplement the reading. The Proffesor shares her in depth knowledge with the class and adds experience and wisdom no book could have.
E.Smith: Dr. Grogan taught at a 4 yr university level (wasn't ready for that) and she made the student accountable for making assignments were done. She was detailed and informative because of her expertise and being connected in the industry. This class will teach you a practical and ethical approach to the principles of real estate.
E.Smith: Dr. Grogan taught at a 4 yr university level (wasn't ready for that), but it was informative and detailed. The student setting was as if they had their license and were looking for employment. We were exposed to industry personnel, and prepared for actual interviews with brokers. We were taught how to be ethical when dealing with clients.
A smart lady, but a poor teacher. She knows the real estate biz inside and out but has difficulty communicating in a coherant and organized manner. She neglects to teach many important concepts and gives very confusing unclear directions/homework. She needs to prepare BEFORE she gets to class, irather than on the fly. I dont recommend her at all
VMangona: This class will keep you on your toes. There are many projects that consist of buying and selling a condo/house that helps you understand the real world of real estate. I recommend this professor only if you want to continue with real esate as a career.
PHardin -Professor Grogan's curriculum provided me with a comprehensive foundation in real estate. She used real world experiences during lectures and provided study guides which helped to reinforce the material. I did not take full advantage of my study group, but I recommend that others interested in this course do so.
V. Mireles: When I began this class I began it as an easy way to get a career, so i thought... Once i began the class I realized that there is much more to Real Estate than just putting a sign up... If you want to really pursue a career in real estate or be a very well informed buyer take her class. I loved the experience and I learned!

C. Mireles: This is the first real estate class I have ever taken and I believe I have learned enough to pass the state exam. If you want to take a class that requires no work at all, THIS IS NOT IT!! You will work hard, and study hard if you want to pass this class. But it will be worth it because you will not only have a good grade but a license.
Dr. Grogan is the BOMB !!!!!!!! She smart and funny and takes no nonsense. Although she's extremely knowledgeable and experienced, she is so down to earth.
Not for the Weak Minded. This class is a challenging class, the reality class of all classes, not based out of the textbook, but out of real life scenarios. The material is based on current situations and expresses what it takes to succeed in business. I highly reccomend this class to those who plan to do well in the Real Estate Industry.
This class will help you understand the process of an escrow transaction, especially with the real scenarios. Preparing disclosures will definitely help you put in practice what is taught in class. I recommend this class for students who are pursuing into Real Estate Industry.
Student Ch. Quiz Hm Wrk very helpful. Forces you to read book. Book clear, easy to understand & filled with helpful info. Class lectures too confusing, too much info., too quickly to digest. Lectures mainly for people in the industry, not geared for 1st time Escrow students. Think About It's! better in class discussion, not homework. Prof. Fun!
She is very direct and understanding.Dr.Grogan is a great example that anything is possible. I thank her for the inspiration she has given me.
I will begin by saying I've enjoyed "ALL" of Dr. Grogan classes. She has an extinsive background in the Real Estate field; such as: Apartment manger, Professor, investor and acting Broker. She shares with her classes many real scenrios that offer sound advise and validity.

Terrible! If you just want a pass then this class will suit you. She doesn't teach, just leaves you to make your own mistakes. But not a problem since as long as you attend and complete the projects she guarantees you will pass, even if she has to "add 15 points". Hmmmm? Why not just teach me properly and let me earn my grade myself?
I liked it. Has been useful she does talk a lot, has a lots of scenarios and crazy stories but when it comes to test you remember those crazy stories. The RE11 project is stressful but overall FUN it sucks if you never intend to go in to the RE field. Yet you get a real good idea of what the RE world is like. DR. D. GROGAN ROCKS!!
interesting comprehensive lectures, examples, and visualization.
She really cares about her students. Good teacher!!!!!You have to do your work and projects.
This was the best real estate class I have ever taken! The material was applicable to real world experiences! I have also developed a greater understanding of economic, monetary and real estate theories and mechanics. I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn what to do, how to do it and when to do it before investing money in RE
She has been very helpful in providing life examples that relate to the course.
great teacher to have if your just starting lots of work in this class, but it's the best way to make you memorize all the information. Can't wait for motgage loan brokerage, and real estate finance.
Very knowledgable in the real estate business. Teaches from all different kinds of angles. Gives a lot of real life examples. Straight foward blunt sarcastic which is alright with me because that's the way I am. Very good professor. Looking foward to the fall semester with her.
Professor Grogan is very knowledgeable in real estate career and she is so kind to all students. I feel excited eveytime when I go to her class.
I like the fact that Dr. Grogan was currently selling real estate, so that her lectures were current, up to date, and included some of her own experiences in the field. If you are serious about getting into real estate, this is a great professor to take. She will give you the down to dirt information no one else will tell you. Very fun class as wel
Professor Grogan is very knowledgeable in real estate career and she is very kind to all students. I feel excited eveytime when I go to her class because I learn something new and useful for my future.
A very comprehensive and in- depth glimpse into the real estate market. Dr. Grogan teaches students to live and succeed in a RE career. Her authentic "behind the wheel" experience is priceless. She presents problems a RE pro is bound to encounter and offers corresponding solutions. For someone who wants the "real deal" Dr. Grogan is essential.
I emjoy this class, and there was a lot of work, but I feel that I am prepared o work in the RE industry. thankyou professor Grogon
PROFESSOR GROGAN'S INSTRUCTIONAL STYLE IS RATHER UNIQUE IN ITS PRESENTATION, QUALITY AND DEPTH OF SCOPE.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. Makes class exciting, fun and extremely interesting. Wich all teachers were like Donna. Wish she taught every class I need to take.
Very good class with good and useful information. She used great real life examples. I would recomend her to anyone who is intrested in taking a real estate class.
Rarely gives breaks in a 3hour session
Had Fun at her class
One excellent teacher. Made time go by very quickly with her stories and endless knowledge of her profession. She is a professional in ever sense of the word and makes you want to strive to be the best Real Estate Agent/Broker you can be.
I would never take her again. It was very time consuming and you stay in class til the last minute hearing all her personal experienes. I was intrested in Real Estate and this class turned off my intrest. Lots of work and gives assignments that even other people in the business have never have heard of.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. I left the class knowing more about her personal life than Real Estate Principles. A complete waste of time.
Lots of work but she is awesome and you LEARN
this is one of my first teachers i had while attending el camino college and she was a great teacher , she taught me things. i never know about the real estat business
She gave conflicting information about due dates, texts to purchase, email addresses to use, grading points. She limited the emails you could send her. She gave out needed information late and rarely answered questions. Assignments are turned into a black hole, no feedback. It's like she didn't care if the students learned the subject.
I love Grogan. She is so smart and intelligent. She really forces you to think outside the box. Her knowledge of the Real Estate industry is extensive. Her lectures offer you information you would never get anywhere else. Shes very encouraging and her stories are seriously entertaining. You have to do the work in order to learn the material.
One of the best college professors in the field of real estate, and in general.
Great Instructor
It has been very rewarding taking Dr. Donna Grogan for RE13, it helped me to look at the big picture of the process in purchasing property as well as what it takes to be a good Real estate Agent. I am definately leaving this class with confidence knowing when I get in the industry I will have a head start.
Professor Grogan is very knowledgeable in real estate career. There are many projects that consist of buying and selling a condo/house that helps you understand the real world of real estate. I recommend this professor.
Prof. Grogan brings a signif amount of real life industry experience to her teaching. She obviously knows her stuff. Her class includes a lot of work (group project, ind. projects, chapter exams, oral presentations etc.) so be ready.
One of the best college professors in the field of real estate.
professor knows her stuff and is extremely passionate about teaching and having her students succed.
One of the best teachers I have ever had.
She will make you work, but it is well worth it. You will be prepared to enter RE field after her classes.
Very knowlegeable in real estate, but the class is not easy. There's a lot of work so be prepared and don't take this class with a full load.
late to class dismisses late gives conflicting info on due dates her instructions are extremely confusing TALKS NON STOP ABOUT HER PERSONAL LIFE,rarely gets through her useless power-points & makes it nearly impossible to follow along WORST TEACHER IN MY ENTIRE EDUCATION You will learn more from the textbook and online work than you will from her
Do not take class if Donna Grogan is the teacher. Very little knowledge, no manners, poor personal apperance
Talks a lot (all over the place!) She has a lot of knowledge it's just hard to keep her on topic. Can come off a little rude, but she wants you to succeed.
