Kinda tense, but she gives very detailed and interesting lectures, and is clearly engaged with the subject matter. She is amazing at what she does. She makes the class very easy, her slides are very descriptive and tell you what you need to know. If you do not know anything she will clarify it for you. I would definitely take any class with her.

I enjoyed her class - she is very knowledgeable but don't even think about missing classes! And I'm glad I used my iPad for notes - probably took more notes in this class than any other at Hunter, including my 300 level classes.

Prof. H-S is solid, kind, knowledgeable professor who delivers the material directly. She seems a little inflexible in terms of her style--she seems to have a clear idea of what she wants before entering a discussion and doesn't necessarily bend to the flow of class. I really enjoyed her course, though, and her readings were intriguing.

I Took her class thinking she will be a nice prof intellectual but her class is hard. if you are looking for a history class dont take this unless u are majoring in history. tests are very heavy. she doesnt let you know the topics for the exam she will give 4-5 topics and choose them on the day of exam plus there will be manyyy terms to memorize

The best history professor I have ever had. Inspirational and engaging. Loves her job and you feel this vibe. Knows the subject inside and out. Very detailed and straightforward expectations. The best in-depth analysis of the course material. Classes held synchronously&asynchronously. Amazing lectures. Two papers and final. Participation matters.

She knows the subject very well but there were too many weekly lectures/readings and she's a relatively strict grader. The papers and midterm are tedious but not impossible as long as you skim through the readings and lectures. Participation matters. She's approachable and helpful. You have to truly work for your grade.

This class is tough but Professor Haverty-Stacke is passionate and makes it very enjoyable. You're only graded on two papers, midterm, final and participation, so showing up to class is vital. It's A LOT of reading, but if you keep up with the readings and voice thread lectures, you'll be fine
