Mrs. Hooper made everything very clear. She passes out great reviews and is always willing to help! She passes out assignments that are helpful and related to the topics discussed. If you want to take government, she is the best teacher to pick.

I have taken all of Mrs. Hooper's government classes and have learned a ton! She has so much extra credit it is almost impossible to not get a good grade. She was my absolute favorite teacher at NCTC!

There's no reason not to make an A in her class unless you completely slack off. She will help you through anything you can't understand. She knows her stuff and she's really freakin' excited about it too. It's a lot of fun in her class!! So go!

Instructor Hooper is one of the best teachers ever. She gives out alot of assignments but they are easy. She is clear, you do not need the books for these 2 courses, she gives out enough easy extra credit to pass alone, and Hoop is funny. A definite "A"! Do take her for these 2 courses.

I wouldn't say her class is easy because there is a lot of information to cover, but it is worth it because she makes the class interesting and enjoyable. She does offer x-credit, but you do have to work for it. She encourages you to get out & do new things... like attend a City Council meeting...be more involved in the community...Great Teacher

I love her! She is the absolute best teacher NCTC has to offer. I wish she taught Speech and History. No book necessary. She goes over everything in class. You do have to pay attention to her tid-bits because she puts them in the test to make sure you were paying attention in class. Very fun instructor. You will actually learn things in her class.

She's a great teacher and make the material enjoyable, she's serious about what she does and is very involved. Extra credit is a must. Some test questions are a little tricky so make sure you read, a lot. Attendance for extra credit but if you come everyday, read, and take her "fill in the blank" notes, you'll have an enjoyable A from great teacher

I had both of her history classes a couple of years ago, as did my brother before me. She was always very helpful and interested in getting you to succeed. Was interesting and showed video presentations at times. Offered extra credit upon request and got a B out of it.

I took her Nat'l Govt class, Hooper is a great teacher. Be on time, listen to her lecture, take notes, do the assignments, and keep an open mind. She is super passionate and this class is what you make it. She offers a lot of extra credit, I don't see how anyone could do poorly if you at least show up. I'm enrolled for her State Govt now.

She is a really fun professor with a lot of passion for her job. I would recommend you take her class. Though you do have a few assignments, it is nothing you can't do and they get your mind thinking. If you like politics, you will love her, and even if you don't, she is still a good professor.

Highly recommend. Going to every class is essential. She expects a lot and will push you to think outside your comfort zone. You will be expected to write papers about your own political beliefs. Honestly one of the best instructors I've had in my entire college career. She is passionate about the subject, and that shows in the her teaching style. She does have high expectations, but rewards her students for hard work. If you show up, you will actually LEARN about government, not just regurgitate facts for a test.

Such an amazing professor! I learned so much in both of her classes (TX and National Gov). She doesn't need to teach from the book because she understands how students learn, and conveys the information in ways that are easily understandable. There are so many extra credit opportunities that you'd have to be trying really hard to fail her class!!

Hooper is a good teacher. She does not require the textbook, all lecture notes. Attendance is mandatory, so you have to be ON TIME. Study the material and attend class and it is very easy to get an A.

Hooper is a great professor, hands down. Considering that she has to teach people about politics all day, she handles it so well. I see her occasionally outside of class and she always says hello. Take notes, master the I-clicker questions, and participate. You will make an A. One of the best professors you can have.

I had no interest in Government before taking this class. She makes learning fun and teaches in a way that makes you want to know more. If you attend class, conquer the clicker questions & post tests, and do extra credit,there is no reason not to make an A.If I can do it after being out for 10 yrs(in a May Mester),anyone can. And...she HOOOT!!! :-)

This class is an easy A if you put in the work. Read the instructions carefully and don't be afraid to ask questions. Tests were a compilation of questions taken from quizzes, so pretty easy to study. You will need your textbook as some quizzes are based on comprehension of the text. I'd recommend e-book so you can use the Norton Study Space.

AWESOME LADY! She is extremely clear with all of her directions and the work load is perfect, not too much, but you actually learn really knowledge that is applicable to real life.

Hands down the best professor I've ever had. I received a 40 100 on an important paper and she was willing to look over it again and re-grade it just because I made the effort to meet up with her and figure out how I could have done better. The tests were super easy because they were 100% based off of information found in the chapters.

Absolutely love her, she makes government interesting. If you have trouble falling asleep in classes you wont with her. She is easily exited by government and gets loud. She gives you Power Points to print out but there are blanks so class is necessary.

Just do the in class participation, the post tests, and take notes. I did all the assignments out of my ass the night before they were due (all As on those). ALSO did not use the textbook. As long as you pay attention, and look at the post tests, you'll definitely pass her class. It helps that the lectures were entertaining and memorable! :)

I took summer class, 5 weeks long, she is amazing! She's a little intimidating at first but her lectures are clear cut! I had no interest in Government, because I didn't understand it, but after her class,I find it very interesting. There is homework, research paper, essay, and some in class work. Go to class everyday she gives extra credit for it!

While this was a very work intense class there was no doubt we were expected to perform at a college level. Professor Hooper always responded if we had questions and clarity was never an issue. I would take a class taught by her again! Hard but fair.

Really great professor Makes government exciting, really funny and legit. You don't really need the book, just take notes on things she really emphasizes in class. If you make A's on both of her exams and you have less than 2 absences, you are exempt from the final!

Mrs. Hooper is a really good teacher that is willing to work with you only if you are willing to take her class seriously. She always gives you opportunities for extra credit. I suggest showing up to class regularly, doing the homework she assigns (it's not hard at all), paying attention and taking good notes. Her lectures are always fun :)

I wish Ms. Hooper taught more classes! I had her for both governments and received an A+ in both! You get the grade you deserve! There is quite a bit of hw but she gives tons of extra credit! Great teacher & the class is super easy,just write down the extra credit questions that she asks during the class (they're ALL on the tests). There are no reviews, but as long as you print out the powerpoint notes and fill them in you'll get at least a B on the tests. I made a 99.35 but only made 2 A's on the 3 tests we had. Do quizzes on time too.

Do yourself a favor and take her. She will answer every question and get back to you immediately. She is a well rounded and deserves an award for being a great teacher. Government is not my thing at all and she made possible for me to get a High B. She really cares about her students and enjoys what she does.

She is very knowledgeable about Texas government. If you take her class you will learn many important things, like who represents you etc.

Her TX Govt course was well planned out and gave me plenty of time to plan my workload around my other classes. She gave clear expectations for assignments and, on some, allows you to resubmit for a higher grade. She expects you to think and analyze on written assignmentsso dont expect a great grade if you just turn in facts. Highly recommend!

She insures that getting an A is simple, now that doesn't mean it is handed out to you. Her tests are not hard but you absolutely must study and pay attention to the lectures. She is a great teacher for those entering into college, she is very helpful yet still insures the class remains difficult.

I thoroughly enjoyed her class. I've never been big on politics or government, but I had an itch to come to her class because I enjoyed it so much. You felt like you could ask anything an not feel dumb, or less intelligent. I even coined a phrase in her class apparently, so if your ever in her class talking about "coffee and orange juice" thats me!

She is an amazing teacher? I had her for a May mini mester. Four and a half hours with her, five days a week, I was never bored! She is very entertaining, smart, SPUNKY! I highly recommend her class. No book required.

I'm taking her Fed Gov class now and it's really easy if you pay attention. Limited amount of homework that all comes from the eBook. She does have occasional in class assignments and if you don't show up then you get a 0. She does not accept late work but you have plenty of time to do everything for the class. Tests are straight from the lecture.

She is fantastic. Probably the best government teacher on campus. At least 2 homework assignments each week but overall an easy grader and lets you know exactly what to study for the test. Lots of opportunities for extra credit and very passionate about government and is very entertaining!!

I not not applaud Professor Smith any more regarding her teaching ability, assignments, and overall demeanor. It is obvious that she gives a damn about what she is teaching which is always a pleasure to see. Her assignments were so straightforward- no gimmicks. The assignments were challenging but they made sense! Great lectures!

Amazing Fed + Tex gov Teacher. Really knows what she's doing and takes care of you as long as you study! She maintained an amazing presence and didn't bore me a second. If you're looking for your federal + texas gov teacher, then this is your lady. She's the best gov teacher ever + the extra credit is hard to turn down. 10/10.

Very direct, never allowed the class to take control. She limited students comments during her lectures. Her clicker question provided a little fun at the beginning and end of her class.

This professor is one of the best at NCTC. She cares about the subject, she cares about the student, and she cares about the school. She expects college-level work, but she doesn't make anything impossible. All of her assignments are extremely-well laid out for you in detail. Her exams are just like the Power-points.
