She is a good teacher but moves quickly. I advise that you take MWF class.
Tests are H3ll. She moves too fast.
Avoid this prof at all cost. My highschool Calc teacher was better....
Very good if you go to class. Of course, don't come and you'll fail.
don't come to her if you can't use your calculator, she can't help u.
She's good compared to other math professors that UNCC has to offer.
WOW she's hard and moves SO fast. Had to drop it for fear of brain overexertion.
i had her for calc 2, quick teaching, but very effective.
BEST in the Mathmatics department, I highly recommend this professor.
Very hard class, doesn't explain very well but she will help u outside of class.
Moves quickly but very clear explanations and very helpful in and out of class
good teacher, very helpful...but doesn't go slow
difficult tests and no grading curve
she does not drop any grades or curve her tests are very hard moves way too fast
impossible to get A, u can honestly know calc and still fail! do not take her!!
she sux
Terrible teacher, terrible grading system, avoid at all costs!!!

The class is hard. She wants you to learn so don't expect her to give you any grades but she is willing to help with any questions. Main reason to tk her is -----> she speaks English
Very unclear when she teaches
Take this class if you wanna fail. She cant teach.
Very hard and unclear. Not very helpful to the English-as-second-language student at all.
made things easy for me in calc II.
awesome calc 2 teacher, always willing to help, wants her students to do well, always answers homework questions, gives ammle time for review before tests, take her-she speaks english
Do not be fooled by the way she seems to be in the very beginning. She may be intimidating, but she is very helpful once you get to know her and once you start asking her for some help.
She is a horrible teacher. take this if you want an F. If you don't understand a problem, she gives you the answer and tells you to work it out until you get the answer. I need to know how to go about getting the answer!!! No help at all!!!!

blah!! not nice at all, defintely will fail unless you're absolutely really good at math, she is very hard on grading, doesn't curve, very curt, seems nice in the beginning but don't be fooled, avoid if possible..
If you're pretty good w/ calculus/math, take her, you'll do fine. Otherwise, you'd be better off taking somebody else.
not a nice woman, not very helpful, you miss class once and you're pretty much done for. don't expect a lot or help or a lot of explaining from her.
doesn't really know what she's doin...she gets herself and da class lost...holla back homie
Not Helpful at all, I wouldn't recomend this class to anyone who will miss one day. I missed two days and I am so lost.
VERY UNHELPFUL OUTSIDE OF CLASS. WHEN SHE TEACHES IT IS AS IF SHE IS SPEAKING MORE SO TO HERSELF THAN TO THE CLASS. EVERYTHING THAT YOU LEARN, YOU WILL LEARN ON YOUR OWN. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS IF POSSIBLE.
Pick a different professor. She sucks.
THis class is very hard, she isn't very helpful and doesn't give you extra credit. Not very nice. Stay away from this class if you can.
What?? She lost me the first day of class. She doesn't make up the test, the math dept. does. So what she teaches is nothing like what is on the test. If you're looking for an easy F or D, or a lower GPA then this is the "instructor" for
Ugh, don't even bother - she has her favorites and she won't bother to help you unless you ask, and even when you do she makes you feel stupid and belittles you...trust...don't take this teacher if you're not automatically good at math or else you'll fail
Basically if you are a genius in mathematics you'll be fine. However, if you're like me and math isn't your strong point, don't sign up for this teacher! She's a very harsh grader - I'm not sure if I'll pass and I never fail anything!! UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Maybe not the best teacher, but gives whats needed for FINAL. Get basic understanding out of textbook before you go to class. 7:30 office hours aren't very helpful. Will usually work through hard problems with you after class. An A for your efforts.
fairly good teacher, always ready to help if you push for it, make sure to make your self known by going to office hours as much as you can. Always ask questions no mattter what and DO HOMEWORK to get bonus points
she stares at the board and talks to herself while working problems...and forgets everything, oh yeah she likes to make you feel stupid when asking questions. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Very difficult. Expects u to be able to relate other math courses to this one, a lot. Most of class is spent watching her play around with her "Grapher" (TI-83), not enough of actually teaching u the work behind graphs of things. Don't take if
Very nice and I like her style of teaching. Works out lots of homework problems in class for you, if you have a problem or question you dont understand just ask and she'll explain it
i loved math until this class. she is a fairly good teacher but sometimes she dumbs down the stuff we need help on and the stuff we understand she speeds through.
Hmmm.I've seen better ways of learning than tis. She assigns you homework but doesn't even have da answers to them unless she takes them up, but when it comes to helping you, well, i wouldn't say it's the best either. Try something else if possible..take her class only when u don't have a choice.
i agree with the other comment on her.. This class is the perfect way to bring down your gpa
She is a very good teacher. If you go to her classes on regular basis and pay attention, you will ace the class. She is very helpful, she will help you personally if you ask her, only if she thinks you deserve it. She takes up all the homeowrk, but she lets u turn it in late. if u can, take her.
The professor is not very helpful and had a grading system that is too strict.
Great teacher! Definitely one of the best teachers in the math department. She will do anything to help you if you just ask. Made Calc 2 understandable...take her!
Class itself is difficult. Teacher is very helpful, and will let you turn in hw late. She has ton of office hrs, and tests come straight from hw w/ few small changes. Key is to understand concepts, don't just memorize answers. Keep on top of the work and its a guaranteed pass.
One of the best teachers I have ever had! Explains difficult concepts in a way everyone can understand and is always willing to help. Very patient and doesnt assume you know something when helping you. I don't understand how someone who acctually tries could not do well in her class, makes math fun.
If you take this prof make sure to go to class and keep up with the homework even though you are allowed to turn it in late...believe me it will catch up with you at the end of the semester if you don't. Overall she's a pretty good teacher, but at times I found her hard to understand her way of teaching bc she likes to use a lot of graphs.
Great teacher. So long as you make a good effort she's willing to work with you. I'm not good at math, but she made it understandable for me. I'm taking her again for 1242
if there is such thing as BS'ing math. Thats what I did in her class. Rec if ur aight at math. But she will fail you if your stupid!! Ive seen it! Other then that take the class she will help you cuz she really wants her kids to score the highest on the final Math dept exam. ONly four test but 25% of it is done at home open notes. Gerenteed B-
I think she knows the material but is not really able to explain anything effectively. She is very nice and will try and help if you ask for it.
Good teacher, willing to help, explains clearly. Make sure you go to class and do your webwork, because it won't look too good if you don't.
Terrible teacher. She teaches it one way then gives a test on a different way to do it. She gives webwork, so she doesn't have to actually do any work grading it or helping you on it. Not a full-time teacher. Don't take her class.
She was an awesome teacher for Calc2. It’s a hard concept, but she really explains it in an easy to understand way. She will help you, all you have to do is ask or go to her office hours. You do have to put forth the effort, it’s not an easy subject. I would strongly recommend taking her for Calc2. She speaks english. BTW: She has some dry humor.
Ms. Leamy is really helpful. You can go to her office hours and she will help you out. Homework is 25% of each test grade, and you can do the homework problems as many times as you want until they are right.
Great teacher. Very helpful, very approachable. Definitely recommend taking her for calc 2 if possible!
Very good teacher. Goes very quick with the notes and is a little scatter brained though. Wants you to do good. VERY flexible with turning in homework. Very nice teacher. Highly reccomended.
She was a good teacher!
Very good Precal teacher
If your good at math she is a great teacher, if your not but want to learn she will help you.
unless u have ti 89 do not take her, her test are so freeking hard that only 2 people get c or up( the people with ti 89) she explain thigs so good but here test are so dam hard if i did nopt ace the final i would failed, so take here if u want to understang things bc she explain it good
Her tests are so hard! Has no clue about some of the webwork herself. Teaches it one way in class then the webwork and tests are completely different. Plus she is so boring!
Class must be attended in order to succeed. HW is harder than whats learned in class but that make you learn better. Tests are much easier than HW. Easy grading system, Lots of extra credit as long as you do the HW. Do your HW, attend class, study for tests and you will do good. Professor is very helpful and nice to deal with.
The class itself is okay, but she goes kind of fast, and I wish she gave more example problems. The homework (assigned every day) is really hard and I don't think it coincides with what she teaches in class at all.
She flies through the material, and her tests are ridiculously hard. Practice tests look nothing like the actual test that she gives. She assigns webwork that is way harder than what she teaches. I did all assigments and missed only 1 day of class and got a D. WTF?
She usually rushes through lessons and just does multiple practice problems. Webworks due weekly. Reaching her outside of class takes forever- she always responded to my emails at least 4 days later. Good course if your familiar with subject already.
Attending class will help especially because quizzes are extra credit. Tests are hard but be sure to study formulas and u will be fine. Do webwork earlier and email her if u dont know the answer because she will guide you through it. Good teacher as long as you pay attention
Class moves fast. The expectation is that you have had algebra and trig prior to taking this class. Homework via Webwork can help your grade. Leamy is helpful during office hours. Her review sheets give you a good idea of what will be on each test, bu there are sometimes test questions with a twist that makes them harder than the review questions.
She rushed through all of her lessons and goes directly out of the textbook. Teaches like you already know everything there is to know about calculus. She grades homework based on if you get the right answer not even if you attempted. She is very hard to contact if you have a question outside of class. Dont take her if you have never taken calc.
She moves very quickly! It is very easy to get lost in class (this coming from one who took honors pre-calc in hs). Webwork is very tedious and frustrating. Do the test review sheets and go to her office for help!
Pay attention and take notes and it'll b a cake walk. She really is a good teacher...
She goes over the topics too fast. Most of the time it is difficult to understand.
She is an extremely intelligent woman. but not exactly the best calculus teacher. she gives book work along with webwork. She flies through lessons and teaches like you already know all of the material. Grades homework for correctness.
She confuses me
Great Teacher. Though the subject can be taught pretty fast, she'll always be willing to explain. If her class is open, take it.
Dr.Leamy for sure knows what she is doing, she is a mathematical genius. However, her teaching skills do not match her intelligence. She grades homework for accuracy, and this wouldn't be bad if her lectures were more understandable.
Great professor if you understand the subject matter. I am terrible at the course but I feel she does a great job teaching the material. Very quick paced but very helpful. Much better than a lot of other professors at UNCC.
good teacher. just go to class and you'll get what she's teaching. she reviews before tests and they are helpful. you don't ever use the textbook so i wouldn't even waste your money renting/buying it
Great teacher. Available during office hours and emails in a timely manner. Her tests are much harder than the final, so you are well prepared. Homework assignments are relevant. Homework is covered in class, and tests are reviewed on the class period prior. Highly recommended!
Great Professor and very helpful.Do the webwork, attend class! She uses good examples and explains things very clearly but doesnt use the book too much, if you want open it at your own risk but her examples and notes are helpful. Do the study guides before tests.Final was easy.
The class itself is definitely tough if you aren't a math whiz. She attempts to explain things in an interesting manner, but moves very fast, and allows little/no time to take notes. Other than that she's very helpful if you go in during office hours, and in answering questions at the beginning of class. Not bad but not great.
She is a great teacher if you are willing to study and listen in class. If you don't do your work and such, she will not help as much, and she doesn't answer questions in depth during class, but if you go to her office she will spend as much time as you need trying to help you understand. I loved her...so helpful and easy to understand.
Good teacher. Does lots of examples, very helpful during office hours. Her tests are MUCH harder than the final. Take notes while she writes, she's fast. Book work is collected and graded, ask for help if you need it.
Quickly goes over the materials when teaching. However, she does count webwork as a test grade(max score 110). So average all the major tests with a good webwork grade and you'll have an A. I got a 57 on one of my test and still managed to get an A in the class.
She moved through the material faster than the rest of the Calculus classes, but was very helpful during her office hours. Overall good professor.
She is probably one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She does move through lessons pretty quickly so you need to keep up. She teaches like most people already know calculus. This would be a problem if I wasn't good at math, otherwise you will probably struggle. Overall, I would definitely recommend her!
She is te best math teacher I have had. She moves quickly and can get a little frustrated if you ask too many questions and slow her down. Best to ask questions after class. She is very competant and allows for high grades if you simply do the homework which is worth a test and you can get 110% just for bsic completion. Attend every class and do hw
Explains topics very well. An A is very attainable if you go to class and do the homework. Very helpful in her office hours. Also is forgiving if you fall behind on Webwork; will extend the deadline if you ask.
Showed very little interest in going in depth on how to explain things. Not a good experience.
She moves through the material very quickly, but if you catch her after class she is very helpful and you can get all the help you need.
She just doesn't teach.
Extremely helpful if you pay attention and attend class. Counts cumulative webwork assignments as a test grade at the end of the semester which can really help your grade if you actually do the homework!
She does not have clarity in her teaching, she does not teach well if you have never had Calculus before. She is great for students who have seen Calculus before, but for students like me she makes it a hundred times harder to pass.
Well She is Average professor. but to be honest, if you go to the class, pay attention, and SOLVE HER TEXTBOOK HW.. i guarantee u get A in Calculus. The final exam is pretty much from her Homework and problems in class as well the exams she give.. 60% of it from the review two days in the class
She a lil confusing but if u attend classes daily you will definitely pass
First class I have ever failed (I have over 90 credits). Lessons are extremely confusing and the workload is akin to having a full time job while attending your other classes as well. I was disappointed not to pass this course and will be taking another instructor's class over the summer. Would not recommend this professor.
Did not want to explain things. Showed little to no interest in really teaching. Half of the time she did something wrong in showing examples and our class would correct her. Absolutely do not recommend.
This professor is very helpful. Before class, print out the notes and take them to class. She will explain everything. Webwork (typically not lengthy) is required after every lecture. If you understand the review completed before tests, you'll make a 100 on the test. Very clear expectations. Only 4 tests. Gives additional points for good attendance
didn't take Precal in high school? YOU WILL STRUGGLE! I took it in high school which helped me able to catch up with her fast-paced lectures. Will do good on tests if you don't miss classes and really understand the material. Don't hesitate to ask her for help. She's very helpful to individual's questions after class.
Mrs. Leamy is great. She sometimes makes mistakes in class, but she is very smart and will answer any question you have. Just make sure to keep track of the WebWork assignments. The practice tests ARE the tests. Do them over and over until you get a 100 and you are guaranteed an A on each test. Watch the pre-class videos as well.
Everything you learned in high school about math just shatters because she teaches everything so clearly and without the heavy use of a calculator. Everything is easy to understand, and she's always open to questions. MyMathLab is the easiest thing to get an A on, and she gives extra credit. You can get a 110% for homework as long as you do it.
Ms. Leamy is one of the kindest teachers in the university. the only problem is her exams are pretty tough, don't study from the review only, study the notebook then go to the review sheet, otherwise, you'll be screwed in the exam. don't skip classes and you will get extra credit.
Leamy is very nice and helpful. She breaks things down so it's very easy to understand. Make sure you go to class because she gives EC at the end and I felt lost when I would miss a class. Do the WebWork, it matters. And watch the pre class videos because it's the only way to understand the quizzes.
