Dr. Peters tends to talk a little much but she is and ok IH 52 teacher. If she does not get to some thing don't worry she will give you notes for it. Take the class on MWF the classes go by faster on these days. She is a good teacher most of her students
I took a race class with Dr. Peters and I really loved her a lot. I think she is a wonderfully compassionate teacher who is really approachable and understanding. She is passionate about her field and is clear in her explanations.
class is pointless, if you have any common sense you will get an A. just bear with the teacher, shes a bit wired
Great Professor shes a little energetic but you will learn a lot. And she doesn't grade that hard unless you don't come to class or speak up

Dr Peters is an extremely vibrant person who definitely has love for the curriculum she teaches. She is always positive and makes her class discussions interesting and her lectures fun. There was never a dull moment in her class.
grading system is skewed - many "busy work" assignments count for very little, and almost the entire grade is based on a mid-term project and the final. therefore, it's very difficult to measure success during the course. has favorite students who she calls upon to help her grade the project.
Absolutely terrible. She's completely unorganized, unfair, and unclear about assignments. The worst professor I've had so far. Could be a great class, but she ruined it for me because she doesn't even remotely teach the material in the syllabus.

i think she is a great teacher. she is very passionate about what she teaches and the class has influenced me greatly. she is a bit unorganized and its hard to ask questions but as long as you have some common sense you should do well in her class.
the best thing about this class is that it gets done 2 requirments. Knows her stuff but has a hard time showing it to class. passionate about her class but can get too frustrating cause she doesnt anser ?'s. She has favorites. Made class by alot of books but barely got through two of them. Counts midterm and final paper as majority of grade.
this class was "interesting." professor clearly knows her stuff, but had a hard time relaying to class. made us buy too many books, and only used two or so. tended to get off track a lot, and told a lot of personal stories that didn't really relate to material.
She's a horribly disorganized teacher who'spassionate about her subject. She's flighty and has no idea what's going on most of the time. Don't actually do the summaries-- just write whatever you feel like on your paper, she won't notice. She is easy to manipulate however, and she buys almost all of your excuses.
even though this teacher is very disorganized, class is very easy..she makes you do summaries, n gives checks on all, she doesnt even read it. ITs a easy class, you can skip a lot. But I didnt learn anythign from this class. Midterm was hard, but 40% grade is participation and summary

She is a terrible professor and does not how to teach anything. She does buy all excuses though. Do the readings and questions and you will get an A because midterm and final is open notebook and open book. This lady has no idea how to teach anything.
She appears to be a smart woman who cannot put her thoughts into clear words, just long, incoherent sentences. She teaches straight from the text and the exams are very easy if you do the readings because they are open book. Despite that fact she still gives us some answers in class. The discussions are interesting, but I learned little. Take it.
i thought she was an easy teacher. i had to take the class and she made it an easy A class. finals and midterms are open book and she gives you the answers ahead of time. we watched a lot of movies. the topics in our discussions were always interesting. she so nice too.
This class was weird. She was so unclear with what she wanted, and wasted countless time in the beginning of the period talking about stupid details that everyone knew already. At least she was easy.

she was a nice lady. She knew her stuff. However, i will say this....She uses A LOT of group dicussions so if you like lecture classes this is not the class for you. The final was longer than it was suppose to be it was 60 questions and suppose to be around 30 it was open book but also multiple choice which was kinda tricky....she has favorites
Peters was the most retarded teacher I've ever had. She is ridiculously unorganized and is unclear 90% of the time. The class is easy but her unorganization makes it a pain in the a**. She doesn't know how to set up a grading system so u'll get screwed in the long run. How she got a PhD. is beyond me

This teacher seems like she's zoned out somewhere, but she actually knows her stuff. Participation counts somewhat, but the main thing is just to do the work, which isn't that much. Also, the quizzes and midterm are open book, open note. Writing intensive with only 1 two page paper, how sweet?
She means well. She has no idea how to create a solid grading system. Her mid-term and quizzes are all open book, 8 questions. her final was open book, 50 questions. She believed in group work. the class is a breeze. Just participate and she will love you.
She makes the class very interactive. The class doesn't require that much work for an intensive class. All exams and quizzes are open book. However, beware the quizzes are only about 4 questions; 1 wrong that's a B. Requrires a lot of participation in the class. So if u don't mind speaking in class, take this class.

Completely crazy. She makes no sense. However, her class is beyond easy. Show up, raise your hand once or twice, and you will get an A. Everything is open notes, and she curves like crazy. If you have patience to put up with her rambling, it is worth it.
WOW! if you're a complete dumb-a**, take this course. you can easily pass. u get 4 freebie absences, and all open book tests/quizzes. GREAT PRof. class is rather boring but interesting. just share a life story and she will love you. great test curves too, i know i woulda failed if it werent for her awesomely test curves.
Ok, so this class is really easy. All the quizes and tests are open book including the midterm and final. YOU HAVE TO READ THE READINGS, she gives you the questions on the exam ahead of time, but the exams are multiple choice. EVERYTHING IS ON A CURVE, a HUGE one. Like a 4/8 is a B-. Her class was actually hot bad and the videos are actually good.

This teacher is very enthusiastic. To win her heart, just read the chapters and participate as much as you can. Everything was open-book but you had to do the readings and know where to find the answers during the test. Make notes in your text/ highlight - it will help you. Don't stress about marks, it's heavily curved.
This class gives me the biggest headache. While she's a nice woman, she's a horrible teacher. She never follows the syllabus, constantly loses papers, and always grades things wrong. She gets taken advantage of by her students because she falls for any excuse you give her. This class is a guaranteed A or B,but I don't think it's worth the headache.

The class and this teacher gave me a headache for 2 1/2 hours every week. She gives you answers to everything, sure its an easy A, but NOT WORTH IT. She was all over the place, never had lessons together- the students ran the class. She is biased and has a one-sided opinion on everything. Did nothing but repeat herself constantly. I can honsetly say that she is one of the nicest professors i have ever had. She uses a lot of videos and info from the book, but for the most part she is interested in hearing from the students. She really makes everyone feel comfortable when talking about controversal topics. Anyone who didnt like her is crazy! take her class!!!!

The Brick Tamland of Temple University. But seriously easiest class I've ever had. Curves every test. Everything is open note. She is a very nice person and really does care what you think. She makes it easy to discuss sensitive topics in a classroom filled with different races. Definately taking her again.
Very nice lady. She does everything in her willpower to accommodate her students' needs. Keeps class interesting with different activities. May be unclear sometimes, but makes it easy to do well
The woman is totally scatter brained and crazy, but the class is cake, and she is very nice. She really cares. There are a lot of articles to read and quizzes every week, but she goes over the material before the quiz, and she stresses that the quiz grades don't really matter. there are debates that she makes seem serious but they are totally not.

She's simply a terrible professor. She talks in circles, and repeats herself, but in the end has said nothing. The quizzes are multiple choice and open notes and incredibly easy. She like giving projects with presentations and then talks throughout the whole thing about nothing. The final was tricky but also open notes.

She is out of her damn mind. Most repetitive and useless teacher ever. The quizzes are open note/book sure, but very tricky and not connected to the text/readings so it makes little difference. Inaccessible to students, doesn't "do" emails. You'll spend 99% of the class wanting to shoot yourself. DO NOT TAKE
No real grading system. I had her when I attended Temple & she grades very loosely. She said it was based most on attendance & class participation. She said I would get an A but got a B. She then ducks her office hours so you can't contest your grade.
Assumes everyone is a liberal nut, cant teach and seems like she just wings each class. We did watch dave chapple often, and is very biased towards her nonsensical hippie beliefs.. Should get a B with absolutely no work done though, take with a friend to help pass time

Dr Peters is really chill but repeats herself & talks in circles. quizzes are open book/note but questions are tricky and answers don't match the facts from the readings...doesn't make any sense. she seems easy, but weighs things very unfairly (participation 15% yet gives everyone an 86?). wants students to succeed but makes it slightly difficult
A lot of people complain about Prof. Peters talking and circles and somewhat winging class...but I love it! I go, read for something else or listen to music in the back of the class. The quzzies are open note/book so its mad easy. Seriously, if you can make life interesting for yourself rather than expect a professors to...take this class.
This lady talks in circles. Literally rambles about nothing. Honestly, just show up to class and you will get an A. She asks you to do the readings, but only for the first 2 weeks. Then, after that, she stops asking. It was a waste of money. The Final was open notes, and it was very tricky.

Took her race & ethnicity gen ed. I barely did any work for this class, you really don't have to. Tests will come back to bite you though if you slack off too much. Either way I still ended up with a B+ doing the bare minimum. Peters is crazy she talks about nothing, but I'd put up with her and take this class, extremely easy to pass

Took her history and significance of race class and it was very boring but also totally easy. Open note and book for all the test and she gives you 100% on all the projects as long as you just do them. Only had 4 projects and 4 little open book quizes. Loved her!
LOVES TO TALK, very opioniated. Class work is simple. She uses up all her lectures and study questions for quizes. All is open notes for tests/quizes. Didn't put much effort into the class. Sometimes boring but participate for the heck of it. Ofetn gets carried away but encourages you to talk in her open discussions. Easier class for an A. TAKE HER
completely useless. Went from an A to a C- on attendance from missing 4 classes. Cant teach and would be suprised if she kept her job with all the cuts going on. If her name pops up save yourself the time and DONT take her. its a painfull 13 weeks and you actually come out of her class dumber than when you first went in!

Curves heavy, show up at least twice/week = perfect attendance. Quizzes all multiple choice, around 5 questions each. Final = RIDICULOUSLY hard because based off general reading and very tricky because there's ALWAYS "all the above" and "a & c" kind of option. Nice lady, funny. Focuses too much on African Americans. Easiest class ever, I had it at 8am, we watched movies everyday and your quizzes are all open notebook, she also gives lots of extra credit, and you barley have to show up to this class to get an A. Loves to talk and go on tangents, but shes just passionate about her studies.
Absolutely horrible. She just rambles on and on. And unless you wanna talk everyday which I basically did you might get an A. Doubt it though. Everything is open note but sorta confusing. She's literally beyond annoying. You will basically have all good grades and maybe pass with a B+.
Do not take her. She never stops talking. At first it seems like an easy A, but it's not. I participated a lot an ended up with a B because she felt that it wasn't enough. No one that I know got an A.

She's a little bit confused at all times, but she means well. It's an easy A and there's a lot of busy-work, but you'll actually learn something and she really knows her stuff. It's interesting and more real-world oriented than most other classes. Take her.
Prof Peter's class is the easiest college course I have taken. If you go to class, volunteer, and do all the (minimal) projects and homework, it's hard to not pass with an A. She can be very ditsy and unorganized, but that doesn't take away from the easiness. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot about race I didn't know. Definitely recommend!
Dr Peters is a mess, plain and simple. She sometimes will ramble for about 10 minutes and suddenly get back on track. Despite this, the class is the easiest A ever. Show up to every class with group work that day and you'll get an A. She is very passionate and I did learn some things. Chime in the discussions once in a while and enjoy the easy A.
Dr. Peters can't think straight and loves to ramble, very unorganized scatterbrained. But she is very nice and doing the minimal amount of work will get you an A. Tests are open laptop, and the questions are the same as the study questions, no quizes. Be prepared to mentally shut down to get through the class, but its an easy A.
Donna has so much respect for her students. There are barely and requirements for this class, there is attendance taken once a week to make sure people are there for the group presentations. The presentations are easy, all you have to do is slightly interpret your question for the presentation. OPEN NOTE MIDTERM AND FINAL. enough said.
I love Dr. Peters. She is amazing. She really cares about her students. If you stand out Dr. Peters will go so far out of her way for you. She is a wonderful person and a passionate teacher. Haters are just lazy, her classes are easy and she is extremely understanding.

Very scatter brained. I didn't like her at all but it is very easy. Take it and you will get an A; open book mid term and final and you really only need to do one assignment because the other groups do one assignment as well, and these are the questions for the 2 tests. Very easy but the class sucked.

I wanted to blow my brains out. I hate this class. I hate her. Literally go to class and play on your laptop and you will get an A. I'm glad I took it for the GPA boost but... My God... One can only listen to "um uhhhh... um... um... yeah I uhm..." so many times. Take her for an A.
The class itself was incredibly easy in terms of assignments and really boring. We have had a few papers that are a MAX of 2 pages. In reference, I got 90/100 on everything but the midterm 93 and final 69 and still got an A due to participation, it's important. Just say anything really. Textbook isnt used and everything is open note/laptop.
She can be disorganized, but she is very knowledgable and loves to lecture. The few assignments are very easy, you do small presentations with your group. 2 papers that are a 2 page max. Open note/laptop multiple choice midterm and final. The questions are from presentations that the class does and they're on blackboard. Easy A for sure.

One of the worst classes I took in college. The lowest grade I got in a course was an A- and to fail her pointless midterm sucked. This is, but isn't an easy A. I would never take this class again if I was able to redo my semester. However, she is really nice so that's a plus.

She is the best best best Professor I have seen in Temple, I am an international student, She always takes care about me, she will explain you about homework after class if you do not understand what's that mean. We have 3 Building bridge actives(work with the group like watching an ethnic movie together). 2 Group presentation(very easy) 2 exams.
She is super sporadic but very nice. The work is easy, but prepare for your midterm and final... They are harder than you think!!!
dr. peters rambles a lot but she's very nice. the class is very easy, just show up and you get 100 points for participation. 3 building bridges activities, 2 debates and 3 group papers. final/midterm are open notes/book/laptop/etc.
Dr. Peters, while nice, was very sporadic. She rambled every class and repeated herself way to much. She also did not give one lecture herself. She also is not very good about posting grades regularly, as it took her over a week to grade and enter the final (it was a scantron). She took a while to submit the final grades as well.
Dr Peters made inappropriate comments or assumptions sometimes though she taught a Race class. She rambled a lot of times and repeated herself a thousand times. I did not learn much from her lectures, but I did enjoy the videos she played in class. She gives extra credit opportunities. She grades easily and her exams are open notes. Easy A.
Dr. Peters is an amazing professor. You can tell she genuinely wants her students to learn and is very knowledgeable on the topics she discusses. She is a nice woman and shows informational videos. 10/10 would recommend.
She's the sweetest woman who cares about both her students and sociology. Sure she rambles and repeats herself, but the smartest people are crazy ramblers. Some people are just lacking in empathy because she's a wonderful person and teacher who wants the best for her students. Really get to know her on a personal level before making harsh judgments

Dr. Peters is a great Professor and I feel a lot of her negative comments is due to the fact that she is a black woman in an academic position of power. Yes she can be sporadic but the information she provides is valid and useful. She is a great professor and a wonderful resource in the sociology department
Donna Peters is truly precious. She is an intellectual roller coaster. You can tell that she is a passionate, intelligent and vibrant human being. The cool thing about her teaching is that she clearly cares and she gives extra credit. What a character to learn from... The Sociology Department is so cool for having her.
If you want the easy A take her class. She is one of the most unorganized professors I have ever encountered. Every class there's a change up in what you thought was happening. Makes you present a lot and do dumb little projects. Can use notes & print outs on exams. She also has no filter and says some pretty uncomfortable things dealing with race.
I don't recommend Dr. Peters as a professor. She is very unorganized and often rambles for a majority of her lectures, making it very hard to learn/understand anything. Assigns a decent amount of work that may or may not actually end up being graded or discussed, depends on the day. She is nice and cares about her students, but is not the best prof
Dr. Peter's is a kind, lovely lady who cares about everyone who comes to her class. She wants everyone to learn and open their minds. She cares less about grades and more about the content her students are learning. However, she is somewhat disorganized and tends to go on LONG tangents. Easy and thought-provoking class. Basically show up and you'll pass. Like everybody says she does ramble a lot but she is such a sweetheart & only rambles because she is really passionate about what she is teaching. If you need to fulfill a gened I suggest taking this course and picking her as you prof.
Dr. Peters showed videos about race from the 80s and 90s, and didn't seem knowledgeable about current affairs. You don't need to show up because she frequently loses the attendance sheets. When others have said that she rambles, it's about her own personal events and has nothing to do with the class. She loses assignments, it was a terrible class.
Okay so she will give you an A on pretty much everything as long as you hand it in with the exception of exams. Shes nice, but I didnt particularly enjoy the class too much. I did like some of the sources, though. You actually have to do work for the exams. Its deceiving because you have open notes, but the average on the final was not great.
Best Race and Diversity professor you'll get. Some lectures can be confusing. But she gives out so many free 100s. I did 0 readings and still did well (attended all lectures) My friends had way worse experience with other classes so, very grateful for her.
I love Dr. Peters. She's so sweet and she genuinely cares about her students. It's almost impossible not to get an A. Group work lasted all semester and sometimes things got confusing but she's extremely understanding. Take her shes the best.
Dr. Peters was the best! She really does care for her students and wants the best for us. The class was an easy A! All the assignments are group assignments except for exams. She does ramble, but only because she loves what she does! Overall, great and easy GenEd to take!
The grading of this class was 60% group work with a mid term worth 15% and a final worth 25%. She basically gives out free 100% for the group work but the exams are not easy whatsoever. She is very unorganized and is difficult to know when or what is going on. My entire group ended up getting 60 or lower on the final. The class average was a 62
Prof. Peters is a very sweet woman. The class is an easy A as long as you participate in group work. The assignments are fairly easy and the midterm was pretty straightforward regarding the readings and ppts. I had all online, and it was evident Mrs. Peters was not fully aware how to work zoom and canvas but it was all good
Donna-Marie!! She is the gem of Temple University. Protect her at all costs. She preaches on our behalf. She can save humanity one student at a time. She is the most incredible teacher I have had in my entire 4 years as a STEM major. Best Gen Ed you can take. Easy A too. She cares for you. 2 tricky tests but do all the other easy work and its an A.

Extremely chill, gave us As because we were all going through it. Super easy class and a really chill teacher. Easy A gen-ed and prof.

Dr. Peters is the sweetest lady and this class was exactly what a Gen Ed should be. However, the midterm and final are open notes, but the notes come from the reading reports done by students so the questions in these exams don't match up well. Regardless, good class, even better professor.
all easy group work and you'll do group presentations for the class every 1-2 weeks the final exam is extremely hard for some reason didn't even know how to prepare for it the readings we were allowed to use from other students in the class didn't help at all since the answers didn't correlate at all.
Her test is insane.The study questions, ppt, group works,...won't help you much and you have to swim in whole new information from nowhere.There is no guide for preparation for exams.
She is a sweet lady, but not a very tech savvy person and some of the instructions for assignments were unclear. If this was in person, I feel like I would've had a better experience, but was slightly disappointed with her asynch class. Not a bad option to fulfill the gen ed, but harder than I originally thought.
I have her in person, really sweet one, but not sweet when it comes to tests. She might be extremely easy on you, but the tests are difficult. Multiple choices are so confused, even when you read what she gave, you cannot know which one is the right one. Everything is so confused. Sweet for being friends, not sweet for being professor.

She's nice but I wouldn't take this class again. She goes on long rants and sometimes on things she already said before. There are group presentations throughout the semester, so be prepared for that. I also don't understand her tests, I know for a fact I answered correctly but I still had points taken off.
You would learn a lot more from this prof. if you sat down and just talked with her. She is insanely sweet and knowledgeable but the teaching is grating. The constant. repeating. talking while videos are playing, and minute-long comments in the middle of presentations. Her tests are based on reading reports written by other students? Confusing.
