She is awesome. We only had two test all year, and she gave us all the answers to the tests. Theres never any homework or projects. Her class is alot of fun, and she is so nice and funny.

Donna's awesome!! she dropped our midterm & gave us an open book final. we talked & ask questions during the exam. our final was make up 2 questions & answer them. If you like an interactive class that promotes discussions and comments from an extremely liberal point of view, this is the class 4 u.

Awesome person. She's DEFINATELY easy, but she only asks you for two things: participate in the group discussion and show up for class. She totally understands you have a life & will never hold it against you...but she hates being taken advantage of just because she's nice. She doesn't just hand out A's. Basically - just show up & talk.

I really enjoyed taking Dr. Minnich's class. She really makes topics interesting, and cares that students walk away from her class at least learning SOMETHING! She loves to talk and loves to smile, and make others smile. For tests, she tells you straight up what will be on the test. I always looked forward to her class.

The tests are easy; mostly fill-in-the-blanks. I've recommended her to all my friends who need to take a social science class and I'm going to take her again.

Great professor. She makes class interesting, and you get to learn about her fascinating background. Intelligent without being condescending. The best part are the "debates" we get into, and still learn. Tests are straight from the review sheet. REMEMBER T/F is always TRUE!!! She'll tell you that too.

Professor Minnich is an easy A but here attendence policy is really strict. Unless you are in the hospital DO NOT MISS HER TESTS! or be absent on days that work is due. I feel like her attendence policy is not fair but other than that shes a good and interesting professor. I learned alot.

shes an AWESOME teacher, awesome lectures and fun time in class watching interesting movies. HOWEVER, her test are unbelievably HARD and everyone in class did not get higher than a C. if your intelligent and intellectual take this class if not, your gonna suffer.

The best professor I had at Nova. I attend her class ! I remember one stuedent told her he can't by the book so she exclude the whole class from purchasing instead she posted the notes on the projector and we directly copied from it. her exams are directly from her notes and lectures. Her notes are very clear straight forward. Nothing confusing.

Great Prof. Extremely clear and fun. Class is relatively easy if u show up and study for the 2 test. Only a couple of assignments and most of them are not graded. u dont really need a book just take good notes.

I have taken both Soc 201, and 215 with her, and I can honestly say she's the best professor ever. She has discussions and videos in the class that open up your eyes to the world, some realities that only she dares to talk about. She's different and the best, also first former female officer in NYPD. Yes you have to study for the tests, which's Ok

I really dont suggest anyone take her class. She can be nice at times but she takes class discussion as personal attacks when student dont agree with her. Her exams are probably the hardest exams I ever had. Not impossible but not easy. Dont take her. Trust and believe you will regret it.

The last two posters don't know what they're talking about -- she has NO exams in 201. She has a chapter questions and a research paper. Professor Minnich is probably the most interesting at NOVA. She teaches at GW, GMU, and Marymount, so you're getting such a great deal with this phenomenal professor.

I agree with the previous poster, Professor Minnich does NOT give out exams. Well for this semester, anyway. She is extremely funny and awesome! Take her class because you'll enjoy it! However, if you're an A-type person...you probably won't deal with her spontaneous personality. Other than that, SHE'S FANTASTIC!

She is NOT the type to beat around the bush! She is very direct, will give her opinion, and is very very helpful! There was no exams given out this past semester, and the assignments she gave out weren't hard at all. She's very sweet, kind, awesome and YOU SHOULD TAKE HER CLASSES! AWESOME SOCIOLOGY DOCTOR!

The best teacher ever!!!! No exam, 8 easy little assignments. Just do your work and you will be fine. A research paper (50%) due at the end of the semester. Start early!!! Absolutely loved her.

I took Soc 1 and 2, easiest A you will ever get, and i suck a school so thats telling you something. WARNING, if you take her class you do have to do a research paper, but that is easy. I skiped half the class, and got a C on my paper, and still got an A.

During summer classes she does give out 2 exams but they're easy peasey lemon squeezie! :) During the fall she doesn't give out exams...just easy assignments. She is an awesome teacher. Go for her.

One of the most influential people I have ever met in my life, she is a breath of fresh air to your education. Best teacher at Nova by far. Class is manly discussion based and homework assignments are easy just do they chapter review questions. Very fun down to earth class that makes you think outside of the norm, you will learn A LOT!

This is by far my fav teacher at nova she is fanastic. She has a lot of life exprience and is very smart. You do have chapter test questions every other class and group questions in class, you also go out and interview people then have class discussions which tend to be very intertaining. I would deffinatly recomend this instructor!!

Take this class for an easy A or sociology credit! There are no tests! Homework is only chapter questions, most of which she cancels anyways. There are about 5 or 6 group activities which are really easy. She'll let out early on those days! She gave the questions and answers to the final exam beforehand so just memorize them and you'll be good!

Where to begin she is amazing, witty, and lectures aren't boring. Homework from the book. She gives a review of everything you need to study for the exams IN ORDER. In her lectures she tends to insert her opinion with the notes but don't let it affect you. No late work accepted. If you want a fun SOC class take her!

She's extremely well qualified. I enjoyed her classes bc they were nothing but discussions. In 215, we did ABSOLUTELY no work BUT you have to write a 15page paper. Her minority class was interesting. There was some hw & the exam consisted of a million take home short answer quest. She's an easy grader. Just do the work.

Dr. Minnich is very intelligent, and highly qualified to be an instructor. She knows a lot of information that pertains to sociology, anthropology, criminal justice, etc. She requires you as a student to attend all of her classes due to lectures & taking notes. She does not tolerate cell phone use while she is teaching. Study the material & pass!

If you don't get an A in this class, then you shouldn't be in college. Her class is easy to comprehend and mostly common sense. The class is very interactive with telling each other stories about topics. She does study guides for the final so easy A.

Honestly Dr. Minnich is just looking for her kids to succeed. She expects a high standard from each individual which I respect. Everyone is saying "take her class, because it's easy". Go to all of her lectures, she takes attendance. Do her homework, she doesn't read it, just checks that you did it. Her exams are exactly the review, in the same exact order. She is interesting and knowledgable.

Classes are more of a discussion than anything. Prof. talks about herself a lot, lectures get off topic, & students interject irrelevant personal stories. I have hardly learned anything. On the other hand, the teacher is well spoken and likable. Don't need to do any work, & as long as you take notes in class you will do fine on (the two) tests.

I loved her so much I took three classes. She's straight forward and the best professor I've ever had: 201 three tests that she gave study guides for 268 10 page paper BUT you can choose your topic. I HATE papers but it really wasn't bad 207 10 page paper but you can choose your topic and it was doable. A study guide for the final was given

Skip the book. Interesting life stories. MUST ATTEND AND BE ON TIME! Gives you the questions that will be asked on tests. All T/F questions are ALWAYS TRUE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Overall great professor. Full of interesting life stories. Everything from interviews with serial killers and presidents to friendships with music legends. Generally: 2 exams, a paper of around 10 pages, and reading assignments throughout the semester. A definitive must take for anyone interested in sociology or a fascinating professor.

Professor Minnich is an extremely interesting teacher. Her life stories are amazing. There were only 4 exams. No assignments what so ever. She gives you study guides and it is basically the exam so study them! Never miss class because every time you do, you get 3 points off of your final. One of the best professors I've ever had at NVCC. She uses life experiences as examples to help the material stick better. Both times I had her as my professor, she would usually just go on to say exactly what was on the exam and that the topics she mentioned would be there verbatim. The reviews for the exams are the exact same as the exams . Make sure you take notes in class they are the answers to your exam review questions. Don't be late to class points will be deducted. Make sure you do assignments, they are an easy A.

She is super funny, however never have a single electronic out in front of her because I got yelled at and she'll tell you to get out of the class(luckily that didn't happen to me(yet)). She does grab your attention and this is my focus area. No extra credit, but you probably won't need it.

For my class I didn't use my textbook but buy it or rent it just in case. She is one of the best teachers I've met in my whole entire life. She can be tough but always fair and she will talk what will be on the test beforehand. TAKE NOTES it will be crucial for your tests. NEVER underestimate her, she is a great person and deserves respect.

Scary as hell, but pretty cool. Write everything on the PPs down, she gives you study guides that are the exact exams, & your notes are going to be the EXACT answers. Don't skip, you won't get the notes anywhere else. She's done some pretty awesome stuff, don't be afraid to ask her about it in class, altho she has certain things she won't answer.

Dr. Minnich is AWESOME. 4 total tests and she gives you everything for the test. Totally hilarious, she looks like Meryl Streep but shorter with the personality of Ellen. You can't have your phone out during class, she makes that rule very clear. Do not come late, she will not let you sign in, and she does not post on blackboard, so get a #.

She's a cool lady that usually gives us exactly what to study, which really helps us on our tests. Our only grades are our 4 tests so be sure that you do well on those or you won't do well in the class.

Dr. Minnich makes lectures super interesting & entertaining. I took her in 5-weeks so note taking was very important. That is where you find the answers for study guides. Tests are a bit hard since there's short answer & fill in th blank, memorization is very important. Be on time! There are BB assignments that are there for a certain amt of time.

The hw is easy, but make sure you turn it in on time because she absolutely does NOT accept any late work. So just stay on top of your game and you'll be fine. She has really interesting stories, kinda intimidating at first but she's cool. No phones allowed in class, but she's really entertaining you def wont be bored.
