cracks me up.. she keeps you on track and you learn a lot in this class. super nice and at the end.. is not only a teacher.. but a friend.

She is the best teacher i have ever had. I took her for eng 100 and again for end 1a. She is very helpful and understanding. She does one on one interaction. Her personality keeps you awake and interested. She knows how to get her job done.

Ms. Mungen is the best! I loved her class so much I took her again for 1A. She is really cool and makes the class fun but you also learn a lot how to write. If you're easygoing and fun I recommend her, but if you're uptight and too serious than maybe not.

she was a good teacher, one of the best that ive had, mainly because shes unbiased. you can write about topics and she wont mark you down just because she doesnt agree with you. she is clear and you write essays which improves your writing overall.also ec

I haven't been on school for many many years. And taking her class really showed me that I can do this, she's very incourging to her students. And yes she will call on you in class, so make sure that you're paying attention.

If you do what you are asked you'll get a B in her class. Read short stories and had some easy discussions in class. Queen Mungen is really nice and funny. Highly Recommended.. btw this is oliver. Thx "MS." Mungen.. Another thing DON'T Marry her

She's really cool! I liked her alot. She will keep your attention, she's very funny! You will learn alot about literature. She's worldly, so she will share her stories with you.

Prof. Mungen is very interesting in class. She tends to cover too much material in a short time, however, she is an excellent instructor.

I took her for a creative writing class. It was really fun and I enjoyed going to class. Straight facts- You have to write a long story and read it aloud to the class as well as zeroxing a copy for all the students in the class. There is no test, just short stories to write about almost every wee

Warning: personalities might clash, but if you come to an understand with her you'll sail through the semester. And she LOVES repeat students! (So long as it's not the same class.)

it was fun I guess..social hour. i didn't learn as much as I could have in a creative writing class..she said she grades on effort but iono about that..she seems to have a lot going on..she has knowledge of good writers and has a good backgroud in writing but i donno about how much i got out of it.

Prof Mungen is the shizzy! I highly recommend her if you want a chill class and a chill teacher. Oh yeah, expect to read a little.

The first day you meet her she seems really intimidating. Eventhough, she's really detailed about the assignments. I've learned alot. To get on her good side, show up for class everyday/on time and complete the assignments on time!

Unless you're an English major; take this class. But, if you just need this class I highly recommend someone else. She is always late and she wants everyone to write just like she does. Everyone has a different style of writing. She is not open minded, she is disrespectful, she never listens to what you have to say. Find a better teacher.

For this 1C class she was really easy going with us. If she doesnt like your writing or you dont agree w/her then its gonna be alot of rewrites.some of the things in the class were pointless but the people in the class were fun and we all got along and some with her.Try to take another prof if u cant then get along w/her.!

Prof Mungen is a great professor. I don't understand why people think she's crazy or something. She is very helpful and you are able to raise your essay grades if you are not satisfied by revising it. Essays aren't that difficult no 10 pages. Journals responses min. 1pg are required for her classes for everything we read from prose reader etc. Extr

I wonder if students rate this prof. without giving her a chance. At first I did think that she was rough around the edges but by the end of the class I loved her. She really did help me become a better writer and I wish that she taught Eng. 1A. BTW journals are only 1 page. She never assigned anything that was 10 pages. Put in the effort.

one of the BEST teachers ever!!! she helps you become a better writter and she makes you rewrite your papers to get a better grade. at first she you will think she is very hard and mean but she is nothing like that. TAKE HER!!

Class participation is very important and doing the readings as well. She assigns numerous journals. Whatever you turn you get to do a draft and a final draft. Books used were ISBN: 13: 978 1 84467 242 2 & ISBN: 1-931082-27-8

She is wonderful! She helped me a lot. I got a D- in my first essay, but with her help I could improve my grade and get a B+. She loves what she teaches.

I LOVE HER! She's super funny! I LOVED going to her class... shes amazing... BEST TEACHER EVER!!! She takes her time to get to know her students very well... HOWEVER she is a difficult teacher but only because its a difficult class!

I absolutely loved prof. Mungen eVenthough she didn't give me the best grade ever but ehh I guess that's what I deserved. Anyway , she was really helpful and understanding , however she did pick on alot of students especially the ones she didn't like, and she failed this one girl who sat infront of me , and the poor girl tried even harder than me in class ! And shes very rude when she wants to be . She'll tell you straight out to shut up..But overall she's pretty cool .

She is a very good teacher. Although she seems arrogent and difficult, she gives fair grades. She is also very knowledgable and helpful. You will get a good grade as long as you follow her instructions.

she's so nice, and caring. hands down, best professor i have had at PCC, i don't know why anyone would rate her so low. Yeah she's late, and cancels class sometimes, but i learned so much from her. I like how everything we wrote about was about stuff that's going on in the world right now. So if you like that, and aren't lazy, get her. :)

Just had my last day with her and I seriously don't understand why some people would rate her so low. To me, she is,by far, the best teacher I had at PCC. Even though some of the work was hard, it only helped me improve my writing by a lot. If your going to take an Eng 100 class than I consider you take her class, you won't regret it.

I took her class for summer and it was super easy. A handful of essays and writing assignments but they are totally doable. We read one book and we read a lot of essays from our "textbook" called Prose Reader. Quizzes were super easy. Just read. Easy homework. She's a tough critic, but that's her job as an English teacher. She goes off topic a lot.

Shes great, but the review from 8/5/2011 says "If your going to take an Eng 100 class...". It's "you're" not "your" FYI.

i took her for summer 2011. she is very helpful, she is awesome. when she grades your papers she grades them on a scale of ok or not okay. if its not okay you have unlimited chances to revise you papers until you get an okay. this is good and it motivates you to learn your mistakes and fix them so that you don't make the same mistakes again..

Took her during winter 13, somewhat helpfull but id recommend not taking her class. Test are easy, as long you read the assigned text. A bit lazy during Fridays, and she doesnt bother email. Her markings are ok but mostly she pick some students work and gave the rest to her husband (thats when the grading goes tough as hell).

Spring 2012 English 100 I had her in English 902 in fall 2011 lab class. She has help me a lot on essay revision. If u are a student that requires writing on the board for notes. This professor is not for you.

this class is fun, she's a great teacher. doesn't help as much as you'd like on essays and stuff, but in English Lab, they can help you. I recommend.

I had her for English 900 and I can say that she is very friendly and approachable. She likes to make jokes which tend to turn our academic conversations into something else. I think she needs to be a little more serious when it comes to teaching though. Nonetheless, she is very sweet! And, you can talk to her about anything!

Despite being a hard teacher, she is a very fun person to work with most of the time. She was willing to help me out a lot after class despite her cramped schedule.

She is very helpful. She wants you to do good in her class. She gives a lot of reading & quizzes. She gives plenty of work and helps you revise it so you can get a better grade. She expects a portfolio at the end of the semester with all your work, I think thats how you get your overall grade. Take her if you want to learn and be helped.

probably my favorite professors at PCC. Her system actually helps you learn. You get to turn in 2nd drafts of any assignment to improve your grade. She treats her students like they are adults. she asks everyone in class for their opinion on subjects which made me feel very comfortable. She cares about you and she wants you to do well.

Professor Mungen is a very helpful teacher. She enjoys helping out her students & let's you revise any work. She gives you plenty to read along with quizzes. The quizzes are easy as long as you keep up with the readings. We use all of our reading materials & she expects you to be prepared & participate In class.

Personally, I love Mungen. I took her class for 100 & liked it. Compared to other teachers, I think she is pretty easy. If you didn't read the assigned stories, sparknote them & you will be fine but read them! She lets you revise essays & other assignments for a better grade WHICH HELPS! She's kinda intimidating but it's just her personality.

She is the best teacher I have ever taken. I became obsessed with her & the class after the first week. Her knowledge of english and LIFE was amazing. She gives personal stories, the eassay's we write relate to our life and/or help us figure our future/thoughts out. I learned more from her one class then I did in two years at PCC.

SHE'S THE BEST TEACHER EVER.

She is an extremely engaging professor who shares alot of insight not just within the scope of english literature but to life and current events. A good majority of class is dedicated to discussion which is awesome. There is a good amount of reading involved (Short stories. The writing isn't too rigorous. Very fun class and very engaging professor!

There is a medium amount of work. She doesnt keep track of your grade you have to do it. At the end of the semester a portfolio is due and it contains all your grades. We had around 6 inclass essays and 2 take home essays. Attendance is mandatory. If the class watched a movie and you were absent, you would fail the essay. Tests are easy if you read

Professor Mungen is awesome! She is motivating, helpful, fun and strict. You must read ALL the reading assignments to pass the quizzes and participate in classroom discussions. A well written 8 page research paper is critical to your success in passing the class. You will definitely learn and improve your research and writing skills in her class.

Professor Mungen is a great professor with a ton of experience as a writer. She tries to help all students in the class with their writing and her class is structured very simply. Take her if you're willing to put in the time and effort to read and do all the writing assignments and participate. If you do that, this class is an easy A.

Big research paper the grade depends on. She is really funny, but super strict. You won't follow her instructions, then a straight F. Otherwise she makes you an excellent writer, and gets along with you. Your expected to go into this class knowing your composition. Lets you revise papers until you get it right. Recommended for hard workers.

Mrs. Mungen made English 901 an interesting and funny class. English 901 is pretty easy. Just do your work and make sure to have all of your assignments signed off.

I learned a lot from the topics she selected each class. The readings are interesting, but make sure you actually read what she assigns because she will do discussions. I really enjoyed her class.

By far one of the best professors I've had at PCC, I would suggest taking her.

Absolutely loved her class! She is a tough grader, assigns a lot of reading, and it is all worth it. She cares most that you learn something and that your writing style improves. We discussed some interesting topics and took some very interesting field trips. I wish I had an English class left to take so I could take it with Mungen.

I took this class in the accelerated fall semester. SO MANY PAPERS, literally back to back. The class discussions were amazing, she REALLY cares about your writing improvement. Punctuation, grammar, past/present tense etc. Edit, revise, edit, revise. She will invest in you, make sure to utilize office hrs if you are having trouble.

I had the biggest love hate relationship with this professor. SO MANY PAPERS, I'm talking 2-4 a week. Also be prepared for mandatory field trip that makes you go to 15 different places around LA on your own time. If you want an A you'll have to revise every paper. At the end of the day she really does care about you though and want you to succeed.

O man, that was a lot of paper. You gotta be comfortable with writing because you gonna be doing a lot of that. She grades insanely difficult. Very difficult to get an A but its possible.

I took this class during winter session. Even though she goes off topic, and is a little disorganized, I really enjoyed her class. Every paper we turned in, she would give it back to us and let is revise it for a better grade. Shes very nice and gives good feedback.

A huge reason as to why I pursued a career in writing. Lots of students are lazy and fail to realize she has the key to unlock your greatest writing. Be patient with her, and don't be sensitive. She does not sugar coat but she loves and cares, genuinely.

One the top professors who really care about students and is great at teaching. Also, she motivates students by enthusiasm, clarity, and proper techniques of classroom conduct. I took her class two times, and it improved my grammar and writing techniques to an advanced level. If you are willing to do the work, take her class.

She's very much caring about me. She helps me edit my work for a better grade. She gives me very good feedback on essays I wrote. This professor is very great. Very respected. The professor gives me slips to staple on the essays so that it makes it easier for her to correct. Her book test is not heavy at all.

Ms. Mungen is a very intelligent, respectful professor. Like the majority of professors, she does require you to complete all of your work efficiently and on time. I took English 1C with her at Pasadena City College and received an A. Attendance is mandatory and the writing assignments are lengthy and frequent, as expected from an English 1C class.

Unlike the majority of teachers at PCC, Professor Mungen is a teacher that actually cares about her students. She allows revisions for all of her assignments including essays. She cancels class A LOT so make sure you're there when class is scheduled. She truly transformed my writing in a positive way. I highly recommend.

Disorganized, doesn't use canvas, gets frustrated when students don't take their education seriously. Mandatory trips but you'll have more fun than expected. If you can't handle spontaneity then you'll hate her, but if you just ride her thoughts you'll appreciate her. One of my favorite professors thus far. Make sure you keep up with the readings!

I went in without doing research on her and Im actually glad I took her for summer. Required four must have books. There were a couple quizzes, but you gotta read to pass. Her grading was okay and kind of weird. She was a little bit too easy, well for me. So many revisions allowed that I hope you got ink. Gives work back ASAP. Just take her!

I took her in the summer for English 100 and she was great. She doesnt give a lot of homework and shes easy to learn from. She is a little wacky and spontaneous, sometimes I felt like she was making it up as she went along but it never felt like she didnt know what she was talking about. If you take her you will have fun and learn a lot.

Loved this professor from day 1!If you love interactive teachers with a good sense of humor and makes class time fun, I strongly recommend her. She's a kinda tough grader/old fashioned but she lets you redo almost every single writing assignment and gives feedback. Wished she used canvas, make sure you have access to a printer, you type EVERYTHING

This woman will change your life. She is passionate, compassionate and uber talented and wants to make you talented. Please take her class. She's an extraordinary human being.

Loved her class! It might seem a bit overwhelming at first but trust me, you won't regret taking her class! She helped me so much with my punctuation and writing skills! You won't regret taking her! Her class focuses on the history of Los Angeles and you will have to take pictures downtown and I got to enjoy this part the most with my peers!

I never thought I'd be writing one of these reviews, yet here I am. It was such a joy taking Professor Mungen's class. She is kind (yet tough), and truly wants you to succeed, but show that you are putting effort into your work. She's funny, and initiates good discussions. Would definitely take again.

Professor Mungen is crazy, but in a good way. Taking her class was probably one of the best experiences of my life, and my writing definitely improved. Only reason she loses a point is because she can be a bit unorganized at times (doesn't use Canvas, etc). However, she is hilarious, and everyone should take her class if given the opportunity.

Each class you are assigned to write a short essay -- usually a few paragraphs. It's not hard, just pay close attention to what the prompt is (sometimes there's a crucial detail that you might miss if you're goofing off) and you'll get an A. She doesn't use Canvas/have a way that you can check your grade. Which is lame, but not that big of a deal
