There's an extremely hefty amount of work in class, but the outcome of the work is pleasing. If you want something great to take for job interviews, take this class cuz the portfolio is nice & impressive. Oh & she can be real cool if she likes you.

I liked her class.

I had her in fall 2003, she was definitely picky and made us buy a lot of supplies. The folder in its outcome is rewarding, but she seems to have her favorites despite what she says. Very picky and it's supposed to be a 100 level, but it was a cool class!

Great curriculum-wide range of projects. If you take time to do the work you'll appreciate what you learn in her class - it'll make sense.

shes hard & if ur a sensitive person u shouldnt take her.its ALOT of work so dont take her if u dont like art.very picky but a good teacher.everyone in that class made nice work. DONT MISS CLASS tho.u WILL b behind 4 the rest of the semester unless u come in early and she WILL put you on the spot!

Hard, cost lots, lots of work, Needs to be done her way, but knows what she is doing & your book will come out awesome! Just listen to her & you will be fine.

Her class was extremely challenging but I walked away with a gorgeous book!

She can be very difficult, but i like her, it depends on your personality, she just kept telling us how she was really mean and what not, but i find her very funny and frinedly, if u are happy in that class and anjoy art i reccomend her, if u dont like art

bad part had to carry a big binder to class very heavy- don't bring it as much. luv the stuff we do. no boring lectures or text books. working on your projects. very nice and its true she is picky about your work being perfect. but easy A if you come to class, follow instructions and do your very best on your work. be creative. she luvs that.

Oh, Pozen. I enjoyed this class but there is so much work. Classes are fun because you only do projects. But if you don't do your work exactly the way she likes it then you WILL do it over. But if you get all your work done she guarantees an A. Just make sure you don't take this early in the morning because you need to be at every class.

Pozen...Her class was basically project after project. But if you keep up with the work you will be fine and get a double A. She is picky, but at the same time a very nice lady. I recommend her class to those who are commited to turn in work on time but most of all organized!!

Donna you Rock!!! This class is great for anyone who really loves and REALLY ENJOYS art because you will get a full indept experiance. you will see art in a different (yet good) way. I recommend her class ONLY if you art a true art lover otherwise take a different professor. You WILL be PROUD of your accomplishment at the end of the sesmester.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Donna was the best. She is so passionate about her work. She is cool and her assignments are fun to do. She is picky & will make u do things over but it is for the best of ur assignment. Very fun class, the 2 hours pass by very quickly. do all ur work before the final so u can be in and out in a short time. don't procrastinate.

Donna loves her Art. The class is time consuming, but all art is. You have to lug around a 3' binder about 4 times a month. She will either give you an A or an Incomplete in the class. It's as simple as that. You actually learn about the artists.

Pozen is a good teacher and she loves her art. It is very time consuming, my suggestion is do the projets as she assigns them. As long as you do the work as she assigns it and you do it as she tells you to you'll be fine!! I enjoyed the class and found out that I could do A LOT more when it comes to art then I thought I could!!!!!!

this professor is kool...shes really chill... she doesnt give tests or quizzes and doesnt use a book... attendence is EXTREMELY important to her.... assigns sections to do and its time consuming... i recommend this class if you like art ... i thought it was fun.. you get to leave early alot

I really enjoyed this teacher, now I know those who took this class may complain about the amount of work given, but her way of teaching is very good because rather then reading crap and what not, we actually learn about artist by doing similar work they have done...its very interesting. ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT 2 HER. IT'S A REALLY FUN CLASS THOUGH. SHE'S KINDA OF STRICT ON THE ART BUT I LOVED HER CLASS!

don't miss class, do your work, ignore her b*itchyness and you'll get your A. this class is kind of fun. very time consuming and not to mention the amount of $$$ you have to spend buying art supplies. this class is so easy. it's equivalent to 3rd grade art. you'll be fine.

This class was a blast. I'm not artist, but this class allowed me to try my hand at it. The key is you have to show up and follow directions. She's a real stickler about those 2 things. But if you can handle that, it can be a really enjoyable class.

BEST CLASS i've taken @ csun! it was such a blast. just make sure you keep up with the assignments and you'll get your A. materials can be a bit costly but it's not unreasonable! she's a great & interesting professor. LOVED HER!

Very nice. take her easy A but you have to do the work. When she gives a HW ass. do it and do it the way she ask and you will be good to go. Or else she will make you do it again. Attendance is Mandatory but it not promblem class is fun. 1 thing that sucks you have to carry 3in binder. Very heavy. And you spent $200 on art supplies.

She only gives A's and F's. You MUST complete every assignment the way she assigns them (however, allows 1 "gift"), otherwise, you will have to do it over again. I had to put in outside class time in order to get everything done. You must buy almost $200 - $300 worth of art supplies and also carry around a heavy 3" binder on certain days.

She was so nice to me and very helpful. She was a lil' cookie, but that just her personality. I'd rather get graded on my work, than read books and take test. She doesn't give you written test. You just have to make art!I really loved this class. I guess because I wasn't lazy.

Her class can be fairly easy if you attend and do all the work. However, she is extremely picky and the class materials are pricey. She's a cool teacher though and makes class fun.

The class is easy. I almost want to say it's an easy A because all you have to do is the classwork she assigns in class. The portfolio (all the work you did throughout the semester) is the final. The downside is that the prof demands your presence in class and also that you need to carry your 3-inch binder each time you have the class. Fun & Easy!

Easy if you do all the work, coloring, painting, pasting. easy if your not good at art! Do it her way and you get an double A

I still use the binders after having her 10 years ago! Let me just tell you I am actively working as an elementary art teacher and her ideas are awesome. I think ever teacher needs to be a little crazy to reach greatness. Loosen up people...where is your sense of humor and adventure???

I'm taking her class during the summer and she's so cool, I like how she tries to introduce the students to multiple mediums of art.

Get on her good side and she will go easy on you. She takes Art 100 too seriously. Way too much work for a GE class. The projects are really fun, but her textbook is her bible and EVERYTHING in it must be exactly how she wants it. You don't need to be artistic, just have to have patience. No quizzes, tests. MUST attend class or she won't like you.

Professor Pozen is a very complex teacher. Your either gona like or hate the the class. She gives a lot of work which isnt hard but it is Very time consuming. Everyone who puts in the work eventually gets an A though. I wouldnt take her CLass ever again but thats just me!

Ive had easier classes, but this class is a lot of fun, and you actually do learn about many different art backgrounds. Take this class.

if we want to talk about easy A ? yes its easy A but she is clear, but its need a lot of work , do the homework's on time, if you have more than 12 units per semester do not take this class , you must be less than 12 units, proff Dona give the class from her heart i love her and i respect her a lot and i know why she is strict on her class.

Let start off with DO NOT miss a class with her. I mean you can, but you WILL pretty much miss what she assigned that day. Plus you would have to make it up by coming in a different day for 2 hours with her. She gives out simple projects to do in class and you can totally finish it up at home and HW are easy af. A lot of people would complain how tough she was but honestly if you can't handle her class you can't handle life, she's Hilarious but a very tough grader and serious about her work and class. Most stressful class of my first semester at CSUN. PLEASE keep up with the work of you don't, Man you're in for something, but besides everything easy A

No messy work allowed. You also have to be great at multitasking. This class isn't for the weak haha

this is a pass or fail class, A or F. if you do the work then you will pass, she does give out a lot of work. so if your an upperclassmen taking 16 units or more, i wouldn't recommend this class. If your majoring in the teaching field, i recommend this class because you learn easy project but at the same time your learning 4 project at once.

She is overall an easy teacher she gives multiple chances to get a good grade but don't take advantage of that because then you'll truly regret it if you become too dependent on her giving second chances. If you do you work in class then you'll pass . The class may seem hectic but it is truly fun and definitely easier than other art classes.

She does give work that is tedious but it's pretty easy.

Every class is a new project but they are really fun and simple. She is very outspoken and likes her work done a specific way. I really enjoyed this class and have learned so much about art with all the projects we did. Does not give any tests. DO NOT MISS HER CLASS. If you miss, you will be very behind. I recommend taking her class!!

Would highly recommend this course. Easy A if you follow the syllabus. She is such a caring and spontaneous teacher. Make sure not to miss class. Class revolves around a heavy 3 ring binder, which you will assemble in class. There is homework, but it's manageable. Would take the course again.

If you miss one class you'll really be behind!!! Donna assigns soooooo many assignments in one day! I don't recommend you take this class if you really want the freedom to be artistic because you literally have to do exactly what she says or else you'll have to do redo it. I personally really enjoyed this class and Donna is actually really cool!

Prof. is chill. She's mean sometimes but that's only if don't follow directions. She moves fast and makes us do a lot of things at once and I was in class everyday and still got behind because I'm a pretty slow worker. If you miss class a lot you'll be really behind, but tbh it's pretty easy to catch up, especially if you go to her office hours.

shes tough, but if you do the work they way she wants and not argue with her, you will pass the class.

Her class is studio based and you'll need to buy supplies for art such as markers, her text book, binder, protect sheets, which are going to be an extra expense. But her class will be a definitely easy A if you follow her instructions strictly and do all the works assigned.

Ms. Pozen is a very complex person. She is really nice and caring but expects the best out of you. You CANNOT miss class, this will put you behind and once you are behind in that class the makeup work will start to build exponentially. It is easy assigned work, but it really is busy work and a lot of it. She does not grade off of talent! NO ABSENTS

She goes above and beyond for students to get their work done and pass the class. She's extremely passionate. Try not to miss a class because you do A LOT every day. She lets you make up absences. The bag you bring is quite heavy though so just be ready to carry it around with you.

Donna is an excellent professor, the work is not that hard, but you do have to pay attention to detail. Work moves fast in this class so if miss a day you will fall behind.

Honestly, it can be a pain carrying a ten-pound binder all over the place. The total cost of the class is about $135. This class is super fun. You can basically get an Easy A as long as you do the work. As long as you don't behave like crap you can expect to have many extensions as she doesn't really have a fixed due date for the assignments.

This class could get annoying with the bag you carry and the amount of work you do, but it is an easy A as long as you pay attention to what she wants , do ALL of the work, and DON'T miss class. YOU WILL FALL BEHIND. She will push you to do the assignments.

Shes one of a kind. PERIOD. I took her Fall 19, & I can easily say she made my M/W morning very fun. Her class is not EASY! MANDATORY to attend class, if you skip a day of class you will fall behind. And it will be very hard to get on track. She's sweet, caring, friendly, and an amazing role model. Her assignments are super fun and entertaining.

Professor Pozen is a fairly easy teacher. You can get an easy A as long as you turn in your work, attend class, and pay attention. However, for a intro art class she's ridiculously extra about minor things it's pretty annoying. Still recommend her, just get ready for that.

Professor is something else (extra), but that's because she either gives you credit (A) or no credit for a project. She's funny and wants to chat about things, but don't fall behind! Just be organized and reread her instructions.. overall fun, little stress, and you either fail or get an A+.

She was a great professor. Yes theres lots of work, yes she grades very strictly, but it was fun projects. Much of the work was a lot but it was enjoyable, trust you will have fun with everything to do with the class. Overall the class was amazing.

Donna is amazing, the only way that you could do poorly in this class is if: 1) You miss classes or 2) You are incompetent and cannot follow instructions. Even if you miss class, she allows you to make it up. For every project she tells you exactly what she wants and all you have to do is follow what she says. The project she does are fun and easy.

Donna is actually very sweet once you get to know her. You don't expect this class to be a lot, but it was. You have to be smart to keep up with her work. If you fail, it's simply because you miss class, you fail to follow directions, or you are lazy. She can be annoying but it just shows that she cares. If she doesn't, she will be honest.

Honestly she is a great teacher. I loved how she included every student and engages. She is very kind if you give the respect and just follow her directions. Easy A. Work is easy: good amount of time to complete.

Overall she's a great professor and you will do good in the class if you show up and actually do the work she assigns. She can be a tough grader and sometimes her instructions are unclear but as long as you ask for help you'll be good.

You may have a love/hate relationship with Professor Pozen. Attendance is mandatory as you do lots of projects in a day that turn out nice. Keep in mind that she's very straightforward with you and doesn't hesitate to call you out for anything, but as long as you attend class and do the homework you will be good. Prof. Donna is one of the best art professors you could take if you're objective is to truly learn in college. When most professors are chill and lenient, she is strict and straightforward, yet pragmatic. She cracks hilarious jokes and is always excited about showing student projects. She'll teach you discipline and the joys of creating art itself.

If you can't follow simple instructions, DONT take this class. Professor is strict on grading because she wants things done a certain way, as long as you follow those instructions for every project and show up every day you will pass with 100%. She can be blunt but cares for her students. You won't ever have to do any research for any papers here.

This professor is hands down one of my favorites! She's funny and will “roast” students if they don't do their work or do something stupid. She's genuinely a nice and sweet lady if you do your work and engage in class. She doesn't deserve all the hate. Learn to take a joke and not be a soft weenie! 10/10 would 1000% take again
