Professor Simms is always willing to help and answers all of my emails in less than an hour. As long as you try and put in effort, she will help you out. When I accidentally forgot to submit an assignment, she emailed me concerned and after emailing her back, she offered to give me full credit for it. She really cares and wants you to succeed.

The way I took this class is I had to watch lecture videos the night before class, and then do a learning activity in class which doesn't sound fun, but it really wasn't bad. I never actually met Donna, other than on prerecorded videos. I really thought this class was pretty easy overall, and there wasn't all that much homework if you kept up.

If you have not taken calc, DO NOT take this. You will struggle, and this professor was not willing to help. Her emails were short and not kind for no reason. My TA had no clue what was happening and could never answer anything. I learned everything on my own online, and it was a struggle. Exams are your entire grade. RUN

Everything is based off the tests given, even if you do all homework it moves the final grade with tests only 0.05% per assignment. Oh yeah, homework's due every day, you have to watch the lectures at home and she doesn't even lecture her own classes. TAs are nice though. She has a monopoly on every single math class for Calc, so good luck avoiding

This is a flipped class so you have to watch the lecture videos before class. Attendance is required and class time is used to do the homework. Its a weird class style but this course is just like that. Donna was very helpful outside of class and was easily accessible. she helped me a lot when it came to extensions and extra help for the exam

The flipped classroom can be annoying at first, but you get used to it. You definitely need to actually watch the lectures though, or you'll be lost. When you do the homework in class with your peers, Mrs. Simms and the TA are always there to help with questions. The tests are hard, but overall, the class isn't too bad.

Every Business Calc class has the flipped learning style which is annoying but Professor Simms is knowledgeable and a good teacher. However, I would recommend taking a different professor if possible because she makes her students get 20-30 "points" before every exam by taking extra quizzes or going to tutor sessions which was an inconvenience.

Donna Simms doesn't deserve all the hate she gets. The flipped lecture style is weird, but not horrible. Between Donna and my TA, I always had my questions clearly answered. You need to try because this class isn't easy, but it's manageable. She does her best to help you succeed, including dropping a lot of grades at the end of the semester.

This is asynchronous meaning you teach yourself watching videos they provide and go to class to do a worksheet and ask the TAs for help. This wasn't my favorite format but was manageable, just do all your work go to class ask questions and do not cram last second. I'm someone bad at math that did pretty good, just put in the work and you will too

For me, as a STEM major, this class was extremely easy. For test two and three I didn't even watch the lecture videos and got an A on every exam including the final. You need to know how to use a calculator, but if you can do that you will be completely fine. Donna Simms also has TA's so my assignments weren't even graded by her.

this professor assigns an outrageous amount of work (AT LEAST 3 assignments per day/9 per week), can't explain conceps clearly, and overcomplicates said concepts. She makes you use a phone for zoom proctoring for exams along with Lockdown Browser with Respondus Monitor which is unnecessary. The TA's are also incompetent, so take this elsewhere

Her lecture videos are very unprofessional and it is just her overcomplicating a subject that is not all that hard. WAY TOO MANY ASSIGNMENTS for a 1000-level Math course! The grading in this class is weird, 72% for exams, 11% for Learning Activity worksheets, 10% for Edfinity online hw, and 7% for lecture checks. The LA's are graded strangely by the TA's. They grade most of the LA's questions on a completion basis, but they will pick a question on the LA to grade by accuracy which is strange. HARD CLASS! AVOID!!

she cant explain concepts, overcomplicates everything, ex: making us watch a 15 minute video about testing procedures which "was only supposed to be 5 minutes".
