SHe's a spacecadette...she never remembered who was who or what we were doing...she couldn't remember to bring the right grades to class, or her head for that matter...but it's an easy A.
She's so freakin goofy. She makes students do useless assignments and she so irritating to listen to. Always boring. Not sure what these other kids rating her are smokin. I'll ALWAY tell my friends not to take her. I got a fairly easy A- and it was no fun

wow....a piece of work...always wearing clothes that just...didn't...fit right....Easy A, especially if you're outgoing and smiley. She is a bit of a ditz, but just laugh with her, roll your eyes when she turns around, but don't skip classes
NOT RECOMMENDED. She makes you repeat the same information in all of your work, making it seem like nobody has any creative ability and we are all just her zombies. Very boring speech style and elementary feeling.
I liked her and the class. She came and taught at Central Michigan's Saginaw Campus and did a fabulous job. The course material was interesting and the class assignments made it even more so. I would take another one of her classes.

she needs to eat! it's an easy A & she is fun to argue with especially when she is wrong. she forgets due dates, so you can make up one at your own discretion and she'll think that's the right one! don't but the book, too much money!!

Taught in Lansing. Very interesting lecture style you will not get bored if you are interested in the topic. You know what is expected she makes it simple and easy to understand. An A is definately in reach, but you do have to study.
She is a very nice prof. I liked her alot. If she likes your class or even just you, youll like the class. The speeches arent hard you just have to do your work and youll do fine. She has to tests and i never studied for them and still did well.
She is a ditz. Just try and get her to like you and the class in first week and everything should go smooth. Speeches are easy to do and write. Grades really easy. I don't think anyone got less than a B in the class. Got done with the exam in 10 minutes!
She is very easy and outgoing. Her exams will be easy if you study the study guides she gives you, she also goes over study guides before the exam. I liked this class alot and she was really nice and easy.
I have a lot of fun in her class and have yet to get less than an A on a speech. She's totally cool in my book, go ET! We love you Donna!
Did not like her at all. No matter how hard you try to get her to know your name...she doesn't care. Unclear with you if you edvade from the norm and try something different with your speeches...so just do what everyone else is doing for the audience and topic and you will do fine.

She talks under you like we're little kids and doesn't look at you. It wasn't a bad class at all, especially since i loathe giving speeches. it was an experience.....

This lady is a nut. Provides a format to be used for each speech - very easy to follow. Her laugh is on 5 second delay, and when it kicks in makes everyone else laugh at her... Just follow the outline. Final exam is free points.
This lady is crazy. I've seen her disagree with students and just repeat what they said as the correct answer to the situation. Incredibly easy though, I do terribl on my speeches and I still get As. If you can't find anyone better definately take this professor.
I can't stand this *****. Her personality is that of a brick. Her class is unbearably easy. If you don't want a challege, or want to shut down your brain for an hour, go ahead and take her class. I won't lie to you, I love not having to worry about getting anything less than an A. And you don't really NEED the book for this class. Definetly a waste of money.
She is a complete and total idiot. She is known as E.T. in my particular class because she looks like him and sounds like a female E.T. She's insane and won't listen to your opinions. Or at least, will listen but not acknoledge what you are trying to tell her. Avoid her at all costs and take someone else, I beg you. Don't get forced into her class.
GOOD at teaching upper level classes -> Simplifies all theories through examples. Gives thoughtful homework assignments. Not too hard. Not too boring if you take her in small doses (3 days a week).
She is one heck of a teacher. If she were my age I would totally take her to a dinner and a movie.

She grades horribly. She does not teach and expects you to be able to memorize and give a perfect speech. I got an A on my first (non-graded) speech, and then a B on my next 12 minute long speech! If you like your GPA, take Dr. Anyone else!!
She really is crazy. She tends to freak out about little things, but be fine on other days. As long as you follow her outlines and speak casually, you'll be fine in the class. Weird things seem to make her not like you though...she's unpredictable, but not as awful as some people make her out to be.
Terrible at explaining what is expected, and will rudely mock any mistakes you make in front of the class. A lot of my classmates were humiliated by her. She looks like a drowned rat or Zelda from Pet Cemetary, so it's a no on the hot factor. This is NOT a gpa booster - I recommend someone else, unless you can become teachers pet with her.
DONNA SMITH IS VERY REAL, IF SHE ASK FOR SOMETHING SHE WANTS IT, BUT SHE IS VERY FLEXIABLE WITH ASSIGNMENTS YOU JUST HAVE TO COMMUNICATE WITH HER. I WOULD RECOMMEND HER IF YOU A SLACKER, SHE'LL HELP YOU STAY ON POINT IN A NONCONFRONTATIONAL WAY, SHE'S COOL
She is a fair teacher, she ask for something and is specific abolut what she wants, so do what she wants and you will get a good grade, if you need help she will help you out side of class it will help u get an A, i would take this class again.

Not very good at all. She gets angry and yells for no apparent reason and she is very disorganized. But she does lay out everything that you need to do on a silver platter, and she does not grade hard. In my opinion i would steer clear of this prof, but the course is allright and helps you to be a better speaker.
She is really mean and yells for no reason. She shows up for class 15 min late EVERY DAY and then has to run back to her office 2-3 times EVERY DAY. She DOES NOT grade fairly. Your grade is a complete crap-shoot. You may get an A, you may get a C there is no rhyme or reason to her madness. Final exam is super easy and she gives a small extra credit
People were so mean and disrespectful to her in my class. She's a really good speaker and sometimes she seems a little scatterbrained, but she's usually really nice and a very easy professor. She says "skim the chapters" but I didn't read at all and got an "A" in the course.

This woman is rude and I can hardly understand her thoughts. She does not grade fairly at all. She can give you whatever grade you have because she feels like and uses it to the fullest extent! It's ridiculous and avoid her at all costs!
Ahhh Donna Smith. She is unforgettable. Don't let her sarcasm scare you, I actually found her quite humorous. I learned a lot about speaking in front of crowds. ATTENDENCE! She gains a lot of respect for you by how often you show up for class. My advice: listen, speak up, and try and speak from your head, not your notecards.
This Professor is Amazing very easy, very well together. Makes the class a lot of fun. Very easy to talk to and work with and is all together amazing :D!..You never use the text, all you do are speeches in class which are very fun she is very funny and makes this class a blast!

She probably was a great teacher in the 1980's, which is where her knowledge of media production comes from. Although she is a nice person, she is outdated and a bit loony.
If you are looking for an easy "A" keep move on. But if you want to learn the material she is very good. Just a little bit of a pain about papers. Seems like grading is moving target to get an "A". She is fair overall but will cut you very little slack so do the work or you will not do well in her class.

Professor Smith is a nut. She cracks jokes all day long. She is rather interesting, and knows what she is talking about. She might be a little out dated but her concepts are good. Easy class if you attend class and do your speeches when they are due. No homework, just speeches. Follow the rubrics and you will get good grades.
Shes a nice teacher but weird and forgetful at times, which students take advantage of. If you do your homework and put a little effort in then you should get a good grade.
Easy class if you are the type that actually puts forth effort! lol I got an easy A because I'm a hard worker and she liked me. She picks favorites so be nice to her. If you like to slack off don't take this class. The speeches are easy! I would recommend this class! Nice lady!
She is a little goofy, but an awesome professor. She helps everyone to relate the material to everyday events, so it's easier to understand. Basically show up for class and do the work, and you should do well. Also, both textbooks are required. I thought she was great!
My other professor was fired and "they"FSU; bring Smith in half way through the semeste No offense to her but the teaching style is way differrent on many levels. I will not go from doing a little work and learning to get an A to busting my hump maybe understanding her for a B or C.This one is up to you, Have fun!

ONLINE FORMATT: Smith excelled in the onlnie format. She was readily available, clear in directions, constantly engaged in the discussions and reminders for class work. It was a summer class with a group project online, ugh! Smith was concise and up to the task.
Phenomenal Teacher. She is really funny in class and she really taught me how to speak in public. If you don't attend class and you don't like putting in a teeny bit of effort than don't take her. I look forward to her class everyday.
She has her own specific way of how she wants things, and you must do them that way or else you will get marked down but she grades fairly easy on the speeches and helped me a lot to get over my fear of public speaking! You also get extra credit for perfect attendance
She is very passionate about her work and makes the class interesting. The speeches are not too hard, she gives an entire outline of what she wants. As long as you follow the outline, then you will get an A!
If you want to go to class in a good mood and leave in a bad one, then take her class. One of the worst teachers I've ever had.
I recall being angry with Professor Smith at some point. However, by the end of semester, I realized that the class was useful; the only way to be a good public speaker is to give speeches (as she'll remind you). She is crazy and absentminded, but as long as you follow her outlines, show up, and look over her study guide, you will be fine.
Positives: Grades very fairly (her personal opinion of you is not taken into consideration when grading), gives good feedback (though her handwriting is messy), can be funny, listens well to speeches. Negatives: Doesn't listen very well when asked questions, interrupts, can be rude, repeats the same thing over and over, "My way or the highway"
This teacher in short is awful. She is one of the most unclear, poor teachers I have ever encountered. I got a B in her class, its easy but the pros end there. Her dated style is hard to bear. I feel as though having her there didn't benefit the class in any way. We could have easily taught ourselves and basically did. Don't buy the book.

If you are willing to go the extra mile with dumb things like running her computer or dressing up for RTTP she is the Oprah of extra credit. She grades fairly easy on speeches, put in some effort and you'll do well. She is a bit eccentric, but she is a spunky sweetheart and loves her job.
She is definitely on the crazy side. There are no written tests besides the final. Instead, you do probably 7 speeches at least starting the second week. Her way of giving speeches sounds mechanical and bad, but its the best way to get an A. She gives plenty of extra credit opportunities, RTTP is interesting, but she loves what she does.
I understand it's an honors course, but she could at least offer SOME help. Not only was she not helpful, she was blatantly rude to all of us, to our faces. She pointed our mistakes out in front of the entire class, when we didn't understand. She was arrogant, and expected a ton from us when she didn't have herself together.
Donna is crazy, but she is one of the best profs out there. She tells you exactly what she wants for her speeches and will even help you write yours during office hours. Put effort behind your speeches and you will for sure get an A. Her exam was easy especially because she gives you every answer during review day. Don't buy the book - waste of $
She has you write about a 400 word paper every week. They way grades are given is really strange (a 90% is a B+). 2
Stay away from Donna, she is extremely rude. For being a communication professor she is does not come off as a nice lady. Would not recommend her for anything.
Donna is really a great teacher. She's traditional but can be really funny! She's very accommodating. She lets you pick between study guide or open book tests, gives test re-dos and great feedback. She hates people that don't try.
Not the worst teacher in the world, but you want to avoid her at all costs. She is a condescending rude woman, who grades with a fine tooth comb. If you suck at grammar, prepare for a B at BEST.
Dr. Smith is a very good instructor. You will learn by taking her class. She will not just give you an "A". You earn what you get. It takes an effort to get a good grade in her class but you walk away from this class a stronger student and writer because of it. She is always available for assistance and is a great teacher.
Donna gets a bad rep because she has the tendency to say harsh things. She is very tough at grading papers, but if you re-read your papers and pay attention, you'll do fine. The class gets to choose if the tests are open book or not, if you pick open book, the tests are easy.
This was one of the very few classes where I walked out at the end of the semester and felt that I had actually learned something valuable.
As an online class this prof is hard, and I would have definitely understood more in a lecture. You will use the textbook completely, but for every paper (weekly) you will need to have outside sources. Weekly tests. APA her way, so forget MLA completely. Material was difficult and had to write about personal relationships.
Dr. Smith was amazing. She kept lecture so interesting and was hilarious. I learned so much and the final was the exact study guide. As long as you follow her grading criteria on speeches, you will get an A.
Dr. Smith can be critical, but she is not critical in how she grades. She explains what you have to do to get an A and helps you improve.
At first she is strict and doesn't seem to care but she does. When you get to know her she has a great personality and is funny. She wants her students to succeed and answers all the questions you have. She is very clear on what she wants so if you can do that you will be fine! Would definitely take her again.
I love Dr. Smith! Shes a tough grader, but if you go to her office hours to ask her how you can correct your papers for future papers, shes willing to do that. She gives reviews for tests and the test questions are the exact same as the review. Shes also very caring, she was willing to help me through a difficult situation. Dr. Smith is awesome
She was a funny professor, but all of your grades were based on papers or assignments. There was no extra credit, and she graded extremely strict on grammar and acidemia writing. Even papers from the writing center got 10s or 11s out of 15. Tests were very easy if you attended the lectures. Mandatory semester group paper worth 75 points.
