Mrs. Starr is a good teacher with good teaching methods. her class is easy, but time consuming, prepare to ask lots of questions if you dont understand something.

Ms Starr made Beginning Algebra understandable. I am now going to Cypress College, and have a professor for Intermediate Algebra (Mrs Watson) that could be Ms Star's clone. Their wonderfully pure spirits are so refreshing in this time where there is so much filth and degradation and negativity. I feel blessed to have found both of these teachers.

I really like Mrs. Star. She can be positive and energetic about something so boring such as math. She makes Algebra seem like it's doable. She's not bad looking either even though she has a kinda Mary K. Liternio look to her.

Mrs. Starr is the brightest most helpful teacher I have ever met! She is extremely down to earth and makes calculus possible! Anyone who has ever had trouble with math needs to take her class because she will motivate you to move on and keep on truckin'!

Professor Starr is very and easy going. She gives quizzes each week that are directly from the assigned homework problems. Her tests are fair and consistent with the homework, with a few extra credit problems to boost your grade. She teaches at a slow pace so that students can keep up and understand each concept. I would definatly recommend her.

Mrs. Starr is an Awsome teacher. There have been many occasions that I had to stay over and have her clarify things we learned in class and she has no problem. She loves to teach and help her students succeed. Her quizes are out of class group quizes that cover the material. Her test are easy and come dirrectly from the homework and quizes.

Shes AWSOME!...i tryed even in my retake test n i DID GREAT!..i needed to pass that test to pass the class n graduate cuz math was holding me bak alot but i got through it... HW is NOT mandatory or graded, goes over HW quizes in class,but shes VERY HELPFULL!

Great professor. VERY helpful. Her tests are not easy, but very doable if you study. The more you study, the easier the class will be. She is ALWAYS willing to help during office hours and is open for questions during lecture.

Grades are based on tests&take home quizzes. Doesn't collect assigned homework. Test problems are identicalsimilar to quiz&homework problems. Gives some extra credit. Has a grade school teacher teaching manner. Is prepared and works on handouts in class. Takes time during and out of class to help on homework&quiz. Allowed cheat sheet on final.

Mrs. Starr is a wonderful math professor! If you are willing to put in the work to pass her class she will be there to help you the entire way. I took her in summer school and still did well in the class! I would take her again if I had the chance. Also, take advantage of the extra credit!

Professor Starr is a holy angel. Probably the nicest professor on campus, explains lectures clearly, and has an amazing sense of humor. Your grade is composed of tests and group quizzes that you receive ahead of time, and aren't due until test day. If you have to take Calc, this is who you want to take it with. You would be blessed to have her.

Took this class over the summer. She is a kind professor and really wants all of her students to succeed. Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities, very lenient on grading exams, and her lectures make math much easier to understand. She even gave us the option to retake our exam if we wanted to.

Class is easy if you get the notes and she is caring but unless you are a visual learner she moves kind of fast and wants to see work over using a calculator

I recommend taking Professor Starr here at B.C. She really cares about her student's education and gives you the tools you need to succeed in her class. Make sure you do the homework because Math B60 and B70 is a lot of work in one semester. She is very clear and doesn't make the lectures boring(funny). Definitely one of my favorite professors.

Absolutely love this professor. She made me fall back in love with math. If she gives you the option of going home early when lecture is done extra credit points are possible.

I hated math before I took this professor. She will answer any question, and she never makes you feel dumb for asking simple questions or for asking her to explain things again. She gives you a notes packet that she goes through in her lectures; this saves you the trouble of writing down every little thing. It makes it easier to keep up with her, so you can focus on understanding the material. She's funny too. She's the best!

She gives homework but she doesn't collect them it's just for practice. we have take home quizzes and a lab for each chapter. she always includes extra credits in tests. she is always willing to help in office hours. DEFINITELY will take her again. So nice and love the way she teaches.

Starr is truly a very sweet and amazing teacher. Her b60/70 combined class is very fast paced but she explains everything very thoroughly. Plus she gives you notes for you to keep and they are very helpful. I would take her for every math course if I could!

IF YOU HAVE A HARD TIME WITH MATH, THIS IS THE PROFESSOR FOR YOU!!!! I took Donna's summer school class. I hate math, I'm not very good at it. I failed this class my first attempt (with a different professor) and passed Donna's class with an A! She makes learning math... dare I say it... fun!

Prof. Starr is one of the biggest reasons I received my degree!! Where every other math professor failed me she did not. I am at where I am today in University because of her. I went from a straight F math student to top of the class because of how well she worked and explained things to me! She's an absolute sweetheart and I will never forget her!

Donna was an extremely efficient professor. She presents calculus in a clear cut way, as well as keeping her office open to anyone who was confused. She makes an effort to learn everyone's name, and seems to really get along with her students.

Donna is a very lovely person and a wonderful professor. She goes the extra mile in helping her students understand the material. Her clear grading criteria helps when taking the test because you know what she is looking for. She has helpful handouts to study from. She does a couple points extra credit every test or so. Just do the homework.

She is an absolute saint. It seems like she wants everyone to ace her class. She has a ton of office hours and will even do pseudo-office hours at Starbucks. Just stay on top of your work.

Professor Starr is driven by her love for her job and by wanting to see her students succeed. She went above and beyond with all aspects- the notes we took, the questions she assigned as homework, the feedback she gave on tests, were all meaningful and there never was "busywork" or waste of time assignments. She made class fun and educational.

Very funny, made lectures fell easy to understand. Took summer and had hw every day plus weekly quiz packet. Be prepared to work for grade. Final exam combo of current chapter of the previous 2 wks and summary of the first 4 weeks. Wasnt bad just study everything till I couldnt anymore.

Donna Starr is the best professor I have experienced while attending BC. I really appreciate how positive and encouraging she is. She can sometimes have long lectures filled with a lot of information, but she is always available to help you during her office hours. My advice is to earn her respect, do the homework, study, work hard, ask for help.

Ive always struggled in math. Now I realize its because I never had a good teacher. Professor Starr is amazing, she really wants you to understand the concepts. Wonderful math teacher! She explains the math clear especially for people who have a tough time with math and she explains different strategies to use to solve one problem. Donna is stellar. Very relatable and kind. Will go above and beyond. Joined our student Discord server and hops on to answer Math questions even at 10 pm at night. Lessons are great. Well organized and efficient. Made the transition to the online COVID school stuff seamlessly!

She cares a lot about her students and will do whatever to help and make sure you understand the material. She does an exemplary job of teaching her students and is a very kind-hearted human being. Calculus 1 was very straightforward for me because you can follow the steps she takes towards solving a problem very easily and she explains things really well.

Donna made Calc 1 so enjoyable and easy to understand. You had to study the lectures outside of class while in class she'd go over the homework step by step with the class by the class' choice. The hands on learning and instruction made this class simple to understand, I can not recommend Donna enough if you're looking for a Calc 1 prof. 10/10

Good professor. Calc1 wasn't too bad. Her lectures were online and then we came to class for questions. Only graded on tests and labs but do the homework the problems will most likely be on the test. Offers extra credit. Office hours are very helpful. She's really caring and approachable. Work on your algebra like complex fractions nd know ur trig!

If you want to get a good grade in her class, join the non credit course math jam and use the math learning center tutoring! It is a must! Also see if you can get a regular tutor to go over all the work that you do in class. MLC tutor Mathew is awesome! Tutor center Sophie is awesome! And use Lucus her online zoom tutor as well. He's awesome too!

Amazing professor for College Algebra. Labs everyday but it helps to you in the long run. She also did great exam reviews and hinted which labs were to be included in the midterms and finals. Homework every week. Stay engaged with her lectures and it helps to get a tutor. Excellent in clarifying any questions and very understanding.

Professor Starr is a wonderful teacher for college algebra. She demonstrates concepts in a very detailed manner and is happy to answer any question. Labs can be worked on with people and you are allowed to take quizzes home so you should be guaranteed easy grades. Just study! The exams consist of what you learn in class, so there are no surprises.

The way Professor Starr taught the class was very effective since I hadn't done math for over a year however, labs and take home quizzes help a ton in the long term. Plus she drops your worst scores for quizzes & labs. Plus, we can use a note sheet for exams. Very detailed when going over stuff.

Professor Starr is definitely the professor to take if Calc 1 is a required course. Not only is she great at teaching Calculus, but she will help you if she sees you putting in the effort. I loved that the notes were all included in one packet she made for each chapter, and the "labs" were great as being used for hw. The course is manageable.
