SHe is a very nice and helpful teacher. I had never meet such good and intelligent teacher in my life.
She is very nice and helpful teacher. If u talk her class then u will never dare to take a class of any other teacher in biology teacher except her. Everyone in the class likes her way os teaching and gives clear ideas.
She is soooo great, eventhough she has a pet named after me, her class is wonderful. Her test are very fair but thorough.

her test is very easy as long as you can remember everthing she says in class. For her test, JUST MEMORIZATION!!!! If you wanna make good grade, take her; but if you wanna learn, take someone else....one more thing, she sucks in lab.
Her tests were way too easy. I don't really feel like I learned a whole lot...but I got an A. Kind of scatterbrained at times, but she has very interesting anecdotes and ways of explaining things.
Great professor. Knows what she's doing...neat way of explaining things. If you have questions, see her individually. Will do what she can to help...she's all about the student! I've enjoyed her class and will take her again. Tests are pretty much from lectures, but occasionally a few off questions

She is a great teacher. Very enthusiastic and helpful. Would take her again, currently trying to. She words things in a way that they are easy to understand and gives excellent examples. Best teacher at the school! An awesome person.
i should say that she is a great person, and explains stuffs very well..but she has one problem, test look easy but you will see some questions that are coming from MARS !!!one more thing is that she is not very good on making lab exam questions too! but one more time,she is a wonderful lovly person
Very BAD in LAB. she asks insane questions in lab exams. But her lecture exams are easy as long as you memorize everything she says in class. You won't die if you don't touch the book, but you'll definitely go to hell if you don't read her notes.
Very hard class. Don't take her if your not a bio major. Thinks she is funny and is very unclear and unorganized in lectures. Lecture exams are multiple choice so they aren't that bad but her lab exams are even harder. I wouldn't reccomend her.

Great teacher!
Don't believe what she says! If she says she'll work with you, it's a tale! Very unorganized and takes forever to give assignments back, if you ever get them back.
Very enthusiastic, funny, and personable! Enjoys what she teaches and loves her students. She knows her stuff, so study for her tests, which are thorough. Ask questions any time. You'll love her class! Don't take her if you're not a bio major because she's detailed.
Dr. Wear is extremely nice and helpful. She is always open for questions during lectures and is usually contactable in her office. She explains things very clearly from a big picture point of view. Bio 1108 is mainly cell divisions, taxonomy, and genetics at the end, so keep it straight and it won't be too bad.

An excellent instructor-well motivated and enthusiastic. Known to test on topics mentioned once in class. Allows for plenty of questions and changes her approach to try to ensure clarity. She uses anecdotes to illustrate topics which keeps it interesting. Great sense of humor and very approachable.
Dr. Wear is incredably nice. Class is easy and she engages students in lecture. Review for her lab exams and study pictures. Do not hesitate to ask questions, she is good at clarifying things. Even if you are unsure about something, it's not difficult to put down the right answer without fully understanding why it is right. Should be able to ACE
Dr. Wear is SO nice and very helpful. She never makes you feel dumb for asking a question and is always avaliable outside of class! Take good notes and you won't have to read much. I didn't read at all and I did well! Don't miss lab(she gives notes outside of lab book) and you'll do well.
now i advise every bio student to take her. she is fun and her class is fun and easy but you get the education.
Dr. Wear Rocks!! Best teacher. Write her notes as she says them, read them just like she told you...you will do fine. Just be sure to study and do the few lab reports she asks for.
She is scattered in her notes... very difficult to take notes for her, so write down everything she says. Her tests come straight from her notes. Not a hard class, but very difficult to sit through

Very enthusiastic about class and students, but this is a hard class if you are slack. Study, and write down everything she says! She does go kinda fast, but she is always willing to explain things if you just ask. Open door policy! I recommend!
Dr. Wear rocks...if at all possible take her. but you must be ready to work. it is not impossible. having some friends to study with before a test or lab practical, it really helps... i really liked her class. I definitely recommend her to everyone!!!!
Not always clear about the lab test, but really nice woman. Just do well on the quizzes that will help your grade and show up- she knows whose there and whose not.
I loved Dr. Wear. She is very enthusiastic about her job and she is very helpful! If you show an effort in learning the material and you show up to class, she'll do everything in her power to look out for you!
The worst professor I have ever had!!! DO NOT TAKE HER! She is soooo scatter-brained! If you would like to listen to her reminesce about the "good ole days" and "how things used to be" but then be tested on things you didn't go over because of her lack of teaching, go for it! She sucks as a professor!
She's a nice lady but a horrible proffesor. Very unorganized, gets off subject easily, takes over a week to grade tests, and the dreaded labs. If you think she is horrible in lecture, just wait till lab, absolutely no clue about what is going on in her lab. If you are a biology major, I would suggest taking someone else.
She pulls up the PPT slides for the chapter & talks about the pics. The 1st test was over too much info for 1 test. We were already @ midterm by the time we took it. Read the chapters and add to your notes &study the end of chapter questions. Pretty good in lab, but ask lots of questions. Buy the 1101-1102 lab manual. It helps!
I absolutely LOVED Dr. Wear. Although she is probably the most scatterbrained person i have ever met, she was really enthusiastic about teaching and really knows her stuff. Study EVERYTHING for lab practicals and talk about snakes,frogs,turtles and evolution if you want to impress her.
so tough. not an easy A. i have no idea where any of the material on the tests came from, she is so scatter brained and SO UNHELPFUL!
This was a one hour credit class, but I wound up doing more work on this than in my labs. Assignments are long. What she wants is unclear, even when you ask her. She took a simple vocabulary class and turned it into a migraine. Halfway through the semester she doubled the workload so we wound up working ahead of the syllabus. Worst elective ever.
OMG!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO PASS! SERIOUSLY! If you are ok with making a C or below, take her. This lady is a few crayons short of a box if you know what I mean! She will ramble on and on about stuff that has nothing to do with the class, then give you a test over God knows what! Really shes that BAD DONT TAKE HER!!

She's not very helpful at all. You ask her a question and she talks to you like your dumb. Her tests were crazy. Not to mention, we got soo behind the syllabus so she crammed it all in in under 2 weeks! Shes an outrageous professor and I don't know why she's still around!!!
Dr. Wear was a great teacher for Bioscientific Terminology. I highly recommend. Easy A, with the proper 21 minute before class study session.
I loved the class. She's a little unorganized and gets behind the syllabus, but she's very helpful and willing to help you out in any way possible. She's very laid back and very entertaining. I'd take her again.
Dr. Wear is an incredibly smart woman who has trouble breaking things down. She has a horrid habit of rambling about useless things that you don't need to know. She never gives study guides. Tests are VERY hard. No quizzes. Your only grades are the 4! tests and 2! lab exams. Be prepared to not have a life if you take her.
Entertaining, passionate teacher. However, concepts not explained clearly and lectures not well thought out. Questions asked on test that were neither discussed in class or taught in the book. I took good class notes and went through the book taking my own notes (TONS!). Studied both sets of notes and read text multiple times and got a strong A

Wear is totally cool. She really understands the stuggle of students. However I would never recommend her. She never teaches what will be on the exams. On my first test i made the mistake of "just" studying the notes from class and i failed the exam. But if u read the book day and night and read her notes everyday for about 5 hours you will do well

Wonderful professor! Passionate about Biology but not over-the-top. Made class fun and interesting with "side notes" and applications. Relatively easy if you are willing to put in the study time. Highly recommended!
GREAT Professor. If there is a professor that absolutely loves what they do its Dr Wear. She has a passion for bio in it is very beneficial. She can make boring stuff, interesting. Her only downfall is she likes to throw her life experiences in lecture to help explain something n it can make notes alil crazy. Very helpful. If available def take her
Absolutely loved this prof. She was always available to ask questions and never got an attitude if you asked to much. Her power points and lectures are helpful and she will go above and beyond to help you pass. I recommend for anyone that needs to take a science but hates it!
Dr. Wear is a good professor, enthusiastic, great at what she does. Can be vague on instructions & some info, so ask lots of questions in lab/class for clarity on assignmnts. Take thorough, organized notes. Her syllabus sched. is tentative, so take her you're okay w/ relaxed schedule structure. An A is achievable w/ approp. effort, & certainly a B.

She's a really eccentric person but makes sure you have the information you need to understand the content. Time framing is not her strong suit, so expect to take tests after the other classes. She teaches by lecture and even though she posts the ppts, they aren't always the best. Lab reports after every lab and she's picky about wording.
Dr. Wear is an amazing lecture professor. She is clear in lecture and fair on tests. The tests are tough, but that comes with it being biology. However, Dr. Wear is a horrible lab professor and by far the worst at GRU. She makes you use the outdated labs that are on the department website that do not give detailed instructions. Labs are nightmares.
I love Dr. Wear! She is a brilliant professor who gives amazing lectures. Be warned that she can be unclear at times; however, she always explains things better when asked. You definitely have to work for your grade, but an A is definitely possible. Take her for Biology if you can! You will come out of her class knowing a lot.
Dr. Wear is a great professor. She is a bit scatter brained and all over the place but overall she loves what she does and is so funny to watch lecture. Expect to do a lot of out of class studying for the test, but if you are honest and a hard worker you will do well. She takes forever to grade things, and does not post grades on D2L.
I am an honors student here and the honors courses make her class look easy. Her biggest problem is relaying wrong information. There have been several incidents where Professor Wear has digressed from the information in the book, thus she gives the students completely wrong answers during the test. Wear is even confused about what she says herself
Dr. Wear is an awesome professor. Her lectures are interesting; however, they are a little unorganized. If your are confused on anything, she has an open door policy, and is really helpful in her office hours. Make sure to write down everything she writes on the board that is not on the slides because it will most likely be on the test.
Dr. Wear is a good professor. She really cares about the success of her students and has a passion for Biology and Ecology. Make sure you go to class and pay attention to her slides because she will mention things in class that you will easily over-look in the text that will be on the exams. Write EVERYTHING down in lab for the practicals.
Dr. Wear is a great professor, and I really enjoyed her class. My best tip for upcoming students would be to make sure you write down EVERYTHING that she put on the board or say. Don't worry about the PowerPoint as much, because she post it on d2l later. Also make sure you study your notes everyday, because she will do pop quizzes. Good Luck!
I thoroughly enjoyed her class. Biology can be a real kicker straight out of high school, but Dr. Wear knows how to prepare you. Read every day and take notes on her little fun facts about plants, bees, or any evolution thing. Lab is easier but she tends not be as vocal in it. Her tests are from lecture so print out slides and write on them.
You can definitely do well in her class if you print out the slides and take notes as she goes. Anything she writes down will be important. If you need help you can go to her office or read the book. She's very nice and labs aren't so hard.
Dr. Wear is a great professor. She helped me understand the material and I actually found it interesting. As long as you do your work the way it's meant to be done, you should pass this class

Everything comes from her lectures and powerpoints that she puts online. Don't bother getting the textbook because she doesn't want you spending the money and knows you don't need it unless you want more information. Her tests are pretty hard, but make sure to look at the diagrams and you will be fine.
Dr. Wear is a great professor who really cares about her students; however, that doesnt mean her classes are easy. You must pay attention in lecture AND read the text book to get an A. If you do not pay attention in class, you may miss a small topic that is asked on the test but is not in the text book.
Dr. Wear is very knowledgeable about everything in the class, but sometimes it makes it hard to understand. You don't need the textbook, but it helps you do better on the tests because her powerpoints aren's as detailed. Get ready to study a lot because the questions are VERY specific on tests & quizzes
I had Wear for 1107 and 1108 she is a really good professor and easy to talk to outside of class if you need to understand more of the material. Make sure you come to class because she says things that will be on tests/quizzes that aren't in the powerpoint.
Ms Wear is a bit of a space cadet! She forgets to upload things, doesn't answer emails and forgets what she was doing in class. She only gives like 5 quizzes and 4 exams, and that's about it for your grades! BUT she is a great person, very caring yet tough, and when you're in the lecture, she has a way of teaching that's easy to remember.
This professor, in my opinion, failed tremendously in preparing students for exams and overall helping students to succeed. She has a very low regard for the students' understanding of the material, and did absolutely nothing to help students improve their grade. Don't take her.
She is a tough teacher. At least she is a pretty nice person to have a conversation with. There were only 3 exams given instead of 4. So it was hard to adjust my grade. She gave quizzes to improve our grade which for the most part helped. But she fell deeply behind and we all suffered from the amount of material on the third test and the final.
Dr. Wear is an amazing lady who actually cares about her students. Her class can be a little hard to follow sometimes and expectations can be confusing, but in the end, she genuinely cares about whether you have actually learned something, not just memorized off of powerpoints. Her labs are really fun and her lectures are entertaining as well

She is a horrible professor. She did not prepare you for the exam, nor do her lectures match her tests. I would not recommend that ANYONE take her. I took the class the following semester and did extremely well.
Dr. Wear is an amazing professor and is very helpful during class. She teaches BIO 1107 and 1108 and a herpetology class. Lectures are fairly heavy and tests are difficult but overall a great teacher.
Dr. Wear was the worst professor I had this semester. Her class consisted of confusing lectures and only seven grades given ( 5 exams, 1 quiz, and 1 homework grade). Her exams were NOTHING like the notes, everything was worded unnecessarily hard. DO NOT TAKE Dr. Wear if you care about your gpa, she lacks explanations and a positive attitude!!!
She will say all day that she just prides herself on giving you at least a week between the end of the test material and the exam, but turns around and emails you late the night before with a random article that makes up half of the free response. Very forgetful and scattered in and out of class.
Grade is based solely on mini exams that are online with lockdown browser,although is now implementing smaller quizzes, heavy picture based, she just reads off PowerPoints, but will go over the test with you. Study early as its a lot but manageable, textbook is not completely necessary but is a great supporting material
LITERALLY STAY AWAY. Dr. Wear is the worst professor I've taken so far. Her lectures are usually never on topic. She only gives exams and a final so if you're not a good test taker I don't recommend. With COVID she said attendance was optional but would then send a passive aggressive email to the class about low attendance. Very sarcastic and rude
Memorize Powerpoints, ALWAYS read the articles she assigns because they are on the exam. Any videos/documentaries pay attention. Explain thoroughly because she expects you to fully understand concepts such as global warming. Textbooks are not needed. Lab was easy.

Honestly, please stay away if its your first year. She expects you know everything from your high school bio class. Our class is struggling, and she takes no responsibility. She blames the class fro not knowing instead of looking at her teaching skills. Goes off topic a lot, and is confusing at times. Also makes you feel bad for asking questions.

Worst professor I have ever had. Her teaching is just a complete joke as she gives us a study guide for exams and none of those questions arrive in the exam. I mean the class average really explains her horrible teaching. She told her students that are COVID exposed that they are low priority and blame her students for being vaccinated or not.
Y'all stay FAR away from this course! We get study guides from our books that are extremely long and half of the material isn't even on the exam. Paid a lot of money for the book just for her to say " this part of the book isn't correct" I don't even have enough characters to go into depth about how bad it is. First year and i'm miserable!!!

She will NOT take responsibility for being a bad teacher. She teaches this intro bio class like we are literally in our 4th year. I would not wish this woman on anyone.
She seemed like a cool teacher the first couple of days, but dont let that fool you. Dr. Wear teaches this course like she teaches her more advanced bio classes. She gives us a lot of information that we dont need for the tests, but makes it seem like well be tested over. Im almost out of characters, so just know I would not recommend her.
This class is difficult but the material is not taught in a way that is easily understood. The tests are nothing like her lectures. During lecture, she lingers on things that you will not be tested on and speeds through the important stuff. She also will make you feel dumb when you ask questions and sometimes just dismiss you completely.

Instead of talking to us and see what may have been the problem (which is her), she made us feel stupid and told people to drop the class because they would not pass. She has made several students cry in class. Her test are never over what she talks about even the tutors do not know how to help.
STAY AWAY FROM HER!!! Content I feel like would be easy if she could actually teach but she doesnt. Constantly says the textbook is wrong then proceeds to take questions straight out of the book and put them on exams. She teaches mainly by power points that are full of useless material. She is extremely moody and targets students!

Never in my life has I seen a teacher that can be so mean to their students. She told me to change my major after I bombed one of her tests, which is totally uncalled for. Dr. Wear is a very kind professor, and always welcomes questions. Her class is pretty test heavy, and she doesn't let you know how much each exam or quiz is weighted, so you go into everything kind of blind. Her PowerPoints are all you need to study for the exams/quizzes, and you can expect the schedule to change often. I def recommend her class!
I am currently taking Professor Wear now for 1101 and believe she is a pretty good professor. However, if you do take this course I recommend studying a week before the text. Her test is mostly based on her power points and if it's repeated a lot of the PowerPoint I can guarantee that it is for sure on the test. She tries her best to aid all.
Would definitely take this class again. The textbook was used only for end-of-chapter questions which you will find on her tests. The powerpoints are what you need for her tests and a couple of quizzes. She tells you what to focus on for quizzes with no pop quizzes. Note: she goes by a point system, not percentages for quizzes and tests.
1108 Lab. She is a really caring person, but lab exams are a bit tedious. however if you work hard and memorize everything, you will be okay.
