Dr. Weinbrenner was overall awesome. At times the course seemed a little unorganized but the majority was great. She didnt take attendance on her zooms and gave amazing reviews for exams. Literally just learn the review she gives and you will be fine on exams. You could tell she really cares about her students and was passionate about bio.

I have loved having Dr. Weinbrenner! Exams are not too difficult and she is the sweetest person! She wants you to do well and allows you to text her if you have any questions at all. Would definitely recommend!

One of my fav professors so far. Clearly stated what was on exams and as long as you too notes on module postings you could easily get an A on exams. Offers extra credit for doing homework. Gives you her phone number so you can text her at any hour of the day awith a question. Truly cares about her students.

Dr. Weinbrenner is very caring, if you go to her office hours shes super helpful. Study the mastering biology homework questions, the what you should know questions in the modules, & skim over the posted powerpoints. Tests are moderately easy if you study right. Rewriting notes and reading the textbook wont work well. Active recall is the key.

The best bio1030 prof at clemson not too much homework outside of class. Your grade is 90% Tests and 10% Mastering biology hw. Her tests arent too bad. She does post the powerpoints so you can just listen in class.

She wants everyone to do well but the final is worth 36% of your grade if you do all the homework it can bring up your grade by a whole letter tho & she gives bonus points

The material for this class can be a bit difficult, but Dr. Weinbrenner really wants her students to succeed. Lectures are not very beneficial, and I definitely learned more by reviewing the modules by myself during class time. Tests are not super difficult, but require actually understanding the material rather than just memorizing it.

The exams in this class seem a lot easier than espinoza and sparace but there is no curve. If you do well on module work assigned and know it well, you should be able to do well in the class. She is also available outside of class to somewhat help you.

She’s honestly one of the sweetest and most intelligent people I’ve ever met. A lot of people don’t like her lectures because she ‘reads off the slides’ but that’s just what she has to do it’s not really her choice. MasteringBio makes the questions not her so def rely more on the textbook than lectures for what you need to know.

Definitely one of the nicest professors I have had. Very accessible outside of class and super accommodating to students. Gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Lectures are super dense and a bit boring, but she is super knowledgeable and funny. Exams are difficult and can be hard to prepare for. Attend office hours and go to class to do well.

She really cares about the success of her students and is available at a lot of time allotted to helping her students. She did zoom review sessions and made study guides before each test. doing the online assigned homework is very helpful when preparing for tests.

Her lectures aren't always on-topic but I believe it simply brings some sort of humor to otherwise boring subjects. She always provides speakers notes so you can be sure to know exactly what you're being tested on. She gives a fair amount of extra credit and truly cares about her students succeeding. Mrs. Weinbrenner is a very sweet lady. Her tests are somewhat difficult but that seems to be the case with whatever teacher you have. She teaches a very lecture heavy class and has 4 tests that your grade depends heavily on. She provides extra credit opportunities. Attendance isn't really mandatory but go.

She is a very nice lady that really seems to care about your success. Her tests can be difficult to study for but once you learn how to prepare for them, you will do fine! The homework is a good wat to study and using her "What you should know" guide really helps you prepare for the tests.

Her study modules/notes are really helpful and her tests are kinda easy once you learn how to study for them. A lot of textbook reading outside of class.

The bad ratings on Dr. Weinbrenner are before she switched her teaching style.Recently, she will give study guides are identical questions to what is on the exam. At the end of the year, she basically gives a free 20% if you do the completion work. I feel she wants her students to succeed, which I cannot say about a lot of other professors.

All of the bad reviews on Dr. Weinbrenner are not accurate to how she teaches class today. I recommend Dr. Weinbrenner so much for beginning biology students. She goes above and beyond and occasionally gives out free points. I almost did not want to write this review, so her lectures do not fill up as fast!

All the homework is through Pearson and it's a LOT and doesn't make much sense. My advice is to take her lecture notes and use that and her ppts to study for exams, that's really all you need. She's not very tech savvy so you have to be patient with her, but her exams are MUCH easier than the homework. She's also a very caring and sweet person.

Donna is really nice and makes the class an easy A or B. She makes study guides before each exam which basically contain all the questions for the exam. Doing those and memorizing them got me As on everything. She also occasionally offers extra credit which was great.

She makes things pretty easy to understand and I highly recommend reading the textbook and doing the study guides (pretty much identical to exams/quizzes)

I took Weinbrenner for Biology I & II, and she cares about her students passing. Although the exams weigh heavily on your overall grade, you will pass as long as you complete her posted study guide. She is very monotone, so I found it helpful to read off the textbook since it was a simple base textbook.

One of the sweetest ladies you'll ever meet. Truly cares about her students success. I don't find her to be very good at articulating the content we need to learn so some exams were hard for me, but the content in Bio 1040 is just inherently hard. Always open to meet with you on zoom. Also takes student feedback seriously and adjusts accordingly.

If you want a relatively easy A in biology, then she is the clear choice. She posts a detailed study guide for every exam with the exact answer in her powerpoints. Do the worksheets for each test - it is exactly the same thing. There is extra credit on every test. The homework is online and you get more than enough attempts to get a 100. You do not have to go to class or even take notes. Most kids do their homework in class. Dr. W is very nice.

Dr. Weinbrenner gives test reviews for the test that are the exact questions you will see on the test. She also rounded my grade up a whole percent to give me an A.

Professor Weinbrenner is an easy grader goes off on tangents in her lecture but her tests are mostly lecture based. She is extremely caring and gives extra credit. She is not very tech savvy and sometimes it's hard to figure out what you are supposed to do. She's gives extensions and is just very sweet in general.

I did not attend class often and did fine. The class takes a ton of time just to do the worksheets and homework she assigned. The tests are not too hard if you learned the material in the notes below the slides when you download the powerpoints. She is a nice teacher, but lectures were long and did not connect well to the material.

Highly suggest her for biol 1040. Super easy and caring. I didn't go to class other than for exams and got over 95s on all exams. Lots of chances on homework and gives lots of extra credit opportunities near end of semester. Just do all the worksheets before each exam and you'll be fine. She understands you have a life outside of just her class

One of the best professors I've had at Clemson. I took her for Bio 1030 and 1040, got an A in both. If you study you will succeed in this class. She is cares about all of her students and wants everyone to do extremely well. If you have the option definitely take her!!! Sweetest human ever

Dr. Weinbrenner certainly cares about her students. She's very understanding and forgiving when students have a lot going on in their personal lives, she also gives lots of extra credit. But, her lectures can be super boring and misleading when it comes to what you will be tested for. She often goes on rants that are not related to the material.

The homework is due before each test and is really easy as long as you keep up with it. She is kinda quiet but super nice and willing to answer any questions. I am not a biology major but managed to do well by going to the lectures and doing the study guides she gave.

Donna is seriously one of the best parts of the semester. I can see how the course could be challenging to those who have no background in biology, but she gives so many opportunities to fix bad test grades. She cares so much about her students, and you can tell she really knows the content!

She posts all the notes so as long as you use those to study for tests there's really no point in going to class. The tests are easy as long as you study her learning objectives for each unit and do the review she posts before each exam.

Sweet lady and class was an easy A, especially since I took AP Bio. Lectures were pretty boring and by I skipped class a lot to just review the slides myself. Tests aren't bad if you study the learning objectives. Takes a while to respond to emails and posted a few assignments last min. Generous grader and offered a lot of extra credit.
