Worst teacher you can ever take, if you think that i am jidding check her review from Broward Comminuty College- South. She came over from that college. She is the worst professor that you could ever take. Please save your time and money, I took her because when i looked her up i didnt find her here in the Miami Dade Section, dont take her.
Does not agree with last comment at all. This teacher is good, I left this class for last because I don't like talking in front of people, she doesn't make you write essays but you do have a few presentations that as long as she sees that you put effort into it you will get a good grade, I received an A on the class.
She stated in class that she is only there because she needs the money, not because she really wants to be there. She is the worst. She does not even explain how to do the projects and assigns 5 projects at once. Don't take her. Pleeease!

It was a short term so everything was on a time crunch. Make sure you come to class or you will be on the spot. She deals with controversial issues so make sure you know what you are talking about.
Despite what you may have read, this class was fairly easy. Most people that failed were lazy. There is no final or midterm in her class, just presentations. One Persuasive Speech, One Informative Speech, One group presentation, and One partner presentation. The only downside is she's not always clear as to what she expects but just ask her.

I was excited for speech class but this teacher was terrible. Her meager discussions were not constructive and she grades speeches on a totally random rubric in her head. Someone wrote 'just ask about what she expects' good luck with that. Ask 3 different times, get 3 different answers, and they'll probably contradict. She clearly does not care.
Nice human being TERRIBLE professor. Unorganized!-She was late the 1st day of class, sat down & didn't say a word to us for several minutes while on her laptop - about 25 minutes into class she spoke. -1st half of the course is strictly reading from the textbook which is COMPLETELY useless then she crams all the speeches in the end. You wont learn
I was expecting a fun educational speech class but I was wrong. She did not explain things well at all. For example, I would walk in to class and she would be like ok turn in your homework, when she didn't even tell us we had homework. I think she thought her students could read her mind. Just don't take it! had to drop the class.
At first, you'll strictly focus on the textbook. I bought the textbook, but IN MY OPINION.. you don't really need it. The only time i used it was when she made us do a quick group presentation about a chapter. For the 2nd part of the semester, you will do 4 presentations. We did an interview, informative, persuasive & group project. Easy class.
Despite what a lot of these comments say, her class is fairly easy, like if you try you'll pass, the people who don't just never show up for class or do the presentations. there are literally only 4 speech presentations you will do, if you actually try at least a bit you'll get a passing grade. there are no tests, though she is kinda confusing.
this is a great class were you can get a full credit if you do your projects, there are not hard at all and she will be there if you need to ask questions and needs a different ideas for you projects.

Really fun, and easy class. Will learn lots with this professor. Just show up and do your speeches and you will be ensured a good grade.
she's clear on what she wants you to do in class. She's no very helpful though. It's hard to get second chances out of her. Go to class, do the work and you'll pass.
This class is very easy to pass as long as you complete all the assignments which are not hard whatsoever! If any questions because you didn't understand her instructions you can always stay after class and she further explain. Easy person to get along with but she does not accept ignorance.

Good professor, you will need the book for the first couple weeks then its on to the group project. If you dont like working in groups this is not the class for you. Overall great class, recommend you take her!

Shes a great women, very nice and gives great feedback on projects and assignments The class is very doable but if u barely show up u won't pass, u have to go to class, plenty of lectures and the ability to choose great broad topics on almost whatever u want to talk about when presenting Shes a very good teacher, hard on her students for the better

She's an amazing professor. If you don't like group projects, don't take this class. There is 4 speeches and 2 of them consist of working with people. The other two are a persuasive and an informative speech. If you have any questions, you can always ask her and she WILL help you. Great professor !

The professor is very understanding and helpful. There is four major speeches which are mandatory. If you miss on the day of speech she gives you an opportunity to make it up for a lower grade. Great professor, truly recommend.

She relies heavily on the book for the first two months, then she says you can't bring it. One of the few things I liked about the class is the fact that she helped me overcome my public speaking fear. There's 3 solo speeches, then a final group speech towards the end of the semester. If you miss a speech, you won't pass. Easy. Take her seriously!!
I Learned nothing. Grading is just three solo one group speech. Don't miss the group project and don't miss more than one solo speech or you will fail. If you take her class once a week she'll let you do your speeches online but you'll have to purchase the textbook. If taking her more than once a week don't buy the book. Wouldn't take again.
She was honestly very cool at the start but towards the end of the semester I realized that she is exeremely unorganized and the way she graded her assignments was unfair and unclear at times. Her class was fairly easy but if you're not one to handle things well when its last minute I would'nt recommend her.
Fairly easy class. Not a typical professor, she's very open in conversation which makes sense given the class. Just be respectful, don't be afraid to confirm dates with her, as she can get a bit unorganized. She grades tougher towards the end, but if you follow her directions, should be an easy A.
The book was used for half of the semester so don't buy the book, it's better to rent it. No tests unless you count giving your speech in front of class a test. 4 speeches, my final was a group project, not sure if she'd change that. She looks a little mean but she's very kind and gives good feedback with anything about your project.
Prof. split her class up between reading the book and presenting. As for the book, I didn't find it all that useful/interesting. But as we started presenting, she starts off with an informal interview and then slowly leads on to the final group presentation (which is weighed the most). Dennis is nice and funny, and not a harsh grader.
We utilized the book for a about 6 weeks and ditched it and went right into speeches. Her teaching is very interactive especially to get you out of your shell. Those who were bad a speaking pretty much flourished at the end. Just don't read off your powerpoint and talk to your audience and you'll be fine.
Listen if you want to go ahead and waste your time with this lady be my guest. She gives no instructions on any of the projects she gives. Basically you're on your own with these projects. Lord bless if you call her out for not doing her job either because she will swear she's perfect. And your grade? Forget about it she doesn't calculate anything.
This class was a complete waste of time. She spent the first couple of weeks of class reading out of the book, which was completely unnecessary to demand us have. She also talked too much about her husband, kids, and exes. Then, out of nowhere, ALL these papers are due and she drops grades for things like wearing "the wrong shoes." AVOID!!
Honestly she's not a real professor. She doesn't know what she's doing and she when she does lectures she just reads off the book. There are 4 main speeches that we are graded on, as well as attendance. That's it... She's SUPER UNCLEAR and DISORGANIZED. Never seen a professor so bad. Only good thing is she allows you to get creative.
She changed a due date on me last minute when I originally had 3 days left to do it. I didnt even see the message until the next morning (the due date she changed it to) because I dont use WhatsApp and I had to download it for the class. She messaged me on a day that I didnt even have the class. I tried to tell her that wasnt fair. I got a zero.
She makes up grades. Her grading scale makes zero sense, she gives you random numbers between 1 and 350 and doesn't explain why you got a 247 or how she got that number. She would spend the entire class having off topic conversations but when its time to do your project she will give you no instruction and give you a low grade if she didnt like it.
I dont even know what to say! Shes unorganized, her grading system is a mystery, she uses the book for a couple weeks then drops it. She doesnt give clear instructions! If youd like to WASTE your time, this is the perfect class for you. Would NEVER take her again. Smh
I worked hard in her class to be told that I didn't follow directions. I followed them to the T. People who we re off topic etc got higher grades. I know how to succeed in school and I did all the work . I feel that I experienced prejudice in this professors class, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Dont take her!! Professor Dennis didn't do such a great job in explaining to us what to do exactly for our speeches. It was a figure it out on your own kind of deal. Also, she went off topic a lot of times. Nonetheless, there weren't many assignments in this class. Just four quizzes, and three speeches. One speech got cancelled, but it could've helped us.
3 single project and 1 group. The only hard thing about this class is that she doesnt tell us whats supposed to be on the slides. Shes really sweet and funny and very engaging. She sometimes get caught on stories on her husband and family. You read in class and shell ask questions, but its fun questions. I personally loved her and this class.
I don't think she's cut out to teach. She spends most of the class talking about herself. You basically do nothing for the first half of the semester, except perhaps two quizzes, but at the end she makes you do like 4 different projects and she doesn't explain herself very well nor does she give you a rubric so you end up taking chances.
She is a very nice professor if you have a question she will gladly help you. But she is tough when she grades, she makes you read and participate, and she will explain the things once or twice no more. Please do not miss classes because she would not tell you what she said. Also, take notes because she will ask you questions.
UNORGANIZED!! SHE WAS STILL WORKING ON THE SYLLABUS AND ITS ALREADY TWO CLASSES IN -___- SHE CUTS THE CLASSES SHORT HER CONNECTION IS HORRIBLE!! THE FIRST DAY SHE JUST DISAPPEARED FROM THE CLASS SHE HAD NOTHING READY FOR US OR NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY SHE LEFT US SITTING THERE FOR OVER 30 MINUTES NOT AN EMAIL OR ANYTHING.
For the most part she was very chill and not so demanding. You get your grades late in the semester but its nothing too hard.
This Professor does not explain herself well at all. She has favoritism. If you care about your gpa I would recommend you to look for someone else. #respectfully
Oh my, oh my. This professor. This is the most disorganized and stressful professor that I've had. She gives lectures for the whole beginning of the semester and the presentations come the last 3-4 weeks. You have 4 presentations that are NOT graded fairly at all and she will deduct massive points from you from one simple little thing.
PLEASE avoid this professor. She spends the entire semester reading off a textbook and leaves you with 4 presentations to do all at once on the last month. She does not explain what to do and leaves you to figure it out, then proceeds to get mad when you don't do what she wants. Her fault for not giving us a simple format to follow.
honestly, i liked this professor. she was definitely disorganized. in the beginning she never told us to do the textbook activities until someone asked because it appeared on our grade book and then we had to submit all of it within one week. that was the only thing that bothered me. everything else was easy. theres 4-5 powerpoints/group projects.
The thing that I disliked the most was that at the end of the semester she changed the grading criteria after many students claimed getting an F with two A and one c in the group project. For me that goes against the ethics of a professor or teacher, she changed all the grading criteria as a vengeance with the students that claimed their grade.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! so disorganized, INTERRUPTS speeches, gives no clear instructions, does not put her grades into canvas, so you don't really know your grade and how much tests, assignments, and projects weigh, and didn't know if our class was a 6 or 12x week class on the first day. the work isn't hard but she's too high risk.

had a terrible experience with a professor who uses only verbal deadlines and no course management platform like Canvas. She gave me the wrong due date for a presentation, which I confirmed and wrote down, but she later denied her mistake. Because nothing was recorded, I have no proof and received a zero, nearly failing the class due to her error.
not very organized with her work
Very disorganized in the way she does things. Grading system is very random and can be very harsh with grading. Nobody knows when anything is due til the last minute and she doesn't do a good job of explaining anything. Can be very frustrating to deal with and often unreasonable with her request on how she wants her assignments done.
She can be rude/have an attitude towards students. not towards me specifically but I watch it happen in class Does not use canvas(only for book work) & verbalizes deadlines only which caused a lot of mix ups. The group projects also confused the class due to her inability to remain consistent with her instruction. I'd write a longer review
Really bad communication skills for somebody teaching about communication. Really harsh and nasty when asked follow up questions. Problems arise with students often.
Horrible grading scale, SUCKS at communicating with students whilst being our communications. We had to create a SECOND groupchat where we asked questions to EACHOTHER because her directions were truly THAT confusing. Wouldnt take this course again, and if you can, PLEASE, avoid this teacher.
